There are elevators on site and carts to move your items in and out of the units with ease. I recommend purchasing a lock on site. It is easier with this lock than a normal padlock. There are four sizes of the rooms. The largest is a large 10x15. I find getting the largest unit was better and few dollars more for the unit value. The next is 10x10. They have two smaller units. When you select a unit, be to remember your access code. You are going to need it to where the units are and to ride the elevators. Be sure to return any cats you use, it's a good sign of proper use in a storage facility. The two top mangers Paula and Howard are super nice along with the rest of the staff. You have a three day grace period to pay your dues before a late charge is applied. To prevent late charges, they accept auto pay. The units are open 9:00am to 9:00 pm Monday -Sunday. The staff is on duty from 9am-6pm. Be sure to be out by 9:00 or you will get locked in. They also have boxes and pack stuff in the office.

There has been a known rodent problem since September that management has failed to properly address or communicate to tenants. Several of my belongings were damaged, and others exposed to mice excrement as pictured. The only response from management has been to place glue traps, which do nothing to resolve the larger issue. When I requested to move units because of the infestation, I was initially offered a new one at a higher rate, which I found shocking and poor customer service, and then moved to another unit on the same floor--only to find that one quickly infested as well. Despite acknowledging the rodent issue, management offered no meaningful assistance or compensation beyond insurance that didn't cover the extent of the damage. This experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid storing your items here, and if you are currently stored on the 3rd floor, I would strongly suggest checking your items for signs of rodents.

Lauren made the entire transaction easy by handling the transfer paperwork mostly over the phone. She made available to me both units for a couple of days to give me plenty of time to transfer everything. She also made available to me temporarily an extra lock, dollies, and furniture movers so that I didn't have to buy these things myself. Lauren even arranged to give away a table and chairs that I no longer wanted! The units are very clean, the climate control is stable, lighting is good and safe, and you can even unload and load your vehicle under shelter from rain and other bad weather without ever getting your belongings wet. If you are looking for high quality and service-oriented storage in West Austin, this place is definitely worth it!

A few months ago, they asked if they could have my key for a fire inspection. I happily dropped it off the next day into their drop box (as requested). My experience: I had to meet some movers at this public storage location at 8 am on a weekday, and when I arrived, my code would not open the gate. Luckily, in typical mover fashion, the moving truck was late, and when Clint arrived at work, he sorted out my code problem. Apparently, there was an issue with the computer system, which I assume is a PS proprietary problem and not a location issue. Do note that the office opens at 9:30, so if you will need assistance, don't arrive too early! Clint in the office is very helpful. Also, the location of this storage building is perched on a hill, and you drive up a winding driveway to reach it. I missed the sign once while looking for it, and the movers had to make a U turn to access the drive. Not a big deal, but helpful info if you have a large vehicle or lousy navigation skills!

We moved from Missouri and needed self-storage until we decided where we wanted to settle in…read moreAustin. This location is super-South, but it worked out great for us for the price and space. It ended up that we moved three times during the five years we lived in Austin -- and we maintained our storage the entire time because we had different amounts of space at each of our residences. At one time we lived in north-central Austin (around Anderson Lane and Burnet Rd.) and still felt comfortable having storage in south Austin because of the atmosphere at BS&P. Plus there are multiple ways to get there if traffic is heavy in one particular area (for instance, major construction on Manchaca Rd. heading south). BS&P seems to take particular pride in the maintenance and appearance of their grounds. It was never trashy, the lighting is very good after dusk, and the buildings seem to be well maintained. I liked that there appears to be regular pest management, and again, it was always clean. Upon clearing out our units, we did not find any issues at all with small animals, and insects were at a minimum considering it was not climate controlled and we didn't use any additional pest control in the units. I also felt confident about the way the drives are slanted and the doorways a bit elevated that we didn't have to worry about water getting into the units. Our storage was in the older section, so I don't have experience with what's available in the expanded storage area. The staff and management were often quite friendly and were prompt to provide service. There is often an employee patrolling the grounds until close. That made me feel at ease when going by myself to storage after dark. I would have preferred that there be access to the property later than the close time, but I don't know what the industry standard is, and I'm sure they avoid a lot of headaches by setting a restricted access time.
