Lauren and Public Storage on Bee Caves have given me the best offsite storage experience I've ever had. I was renting a large 10x25 unit but wanted to downsize significantly to a 10x5. Lauren made the entire transaction easy by handling the transfer paperwork mostly over the phone. She made available to me both units for a couple of days to give me plenty of time to transfer everything. She also made available to me temporarily an extra lock, dollies, and furniture movers so that I didn't have to buy these things myself. Lauren even arranged to give away a table and chairs that I no longer wanted! The units are very clean, the climate control is stable, lighting is good and safe, and you can even unload and load your vehicle under shelter from rain and other bad weather without ever getting your belongings wet. If you are looking for high quality and service-oriented storage in West Austin, this place is definitely worth it! read more

Unfortunately, I have a unit at this location. The property manager/district manager is impossible to get a hold of, and they are completely unresponsive. A few months ago, they asked if they could have my key for a fire inspection. I happily dropped it off the next day into their drop box (as requested). For two months, I've tried to get a hold of them to get my key back (and it was my only key!!!). Finally, I was informed that they replaced my lock 2 months ago and put on a combination. So two months of no access, but they happily took my money. I've called and called asking to speak to a person, and no one has had the decency to call me back. I have a large unit, so now I have to hire. A moving company to relocate, but suggest you find a different storage company. read more

ITS HELPFUL TO SORT REVIEWS BY MOST RECENT NOT YELP SORT. Today the gate is broken, stuck in the 'closed' position (the key pad recognizes 'who' but it's been knocked off the track, and bent.) The customer service person (not local) tried to reset, it didn't work, then promised to 'call maintenance.' The last time the gate was broken (in the open position) it took at least a year to fix; it was finally fixed right after the flood. (This guy and his huge truck are likely the culprits; he's inside and now the gate's inoperable). My unit has tripled in price since I've started renting. There are local, less expensive, better managed storage facilities, so as convenient as it is (when things are working) I'll be leaving. read more

This place is terrible.. there NO service. It's not managed or maintained. The elevators never work, one elevator to my unit has been out for months now and they don't have a repair timeframe. I cannot get to my work equipment that I access regularly. When I called they said they would give me a credit, come to find out it was $25... I pay $300/mo for something I can't even access. Highly recommend never coming here for a unit. If I could get to my stuff I'd choose a new storage place.. read more

Similar issue to others. I have a unit that is $66 a month. Got a message saying rent is "going up" to $100 a month after the third month. That is a pretty LARGE increase, nearly price gouging. I will be leaving this place in the next month. I wouldn't use this place again due to the deceptive BS rent practices. read more

They enticed us to rent with a reduced rental payment, for the first month. The subsequent rate was not bad, as promised. After three months, though - watch out! They raised the rental rate 30%. When I objected, they gave me ONE month at the old rate, and then raised it, permanently, again. Adding insult to injury, the motorized "secure" gates into and out of the facility have been either broken, or left open, for over three months. If I'm paying for "secure" storage, the facility should have functioning systems, i.e., gates, to ensure it's secure. All I got after mentioning this was an apology. read more

Great service and very clean. Have been customers for over 10 years. Easy access and good availability.

They are now a kiosk only facility so there's not someone you can talk to you easily. Also, it is supposed to be climate control but it's been over 85 in our unit every day this summer I don't consider that climate controlled. I was told that they set the thermostat to 82 but there's nothing they can do to cool off the building. Today in one of my units it was 90°. read more

Be very careful about Public Storage (at least this location, I can't speak for others). They will offer you a very low rate to get you to move in. Then, a few months later, they will give you a massive rate hike. They just increased mine by 33%. At this point, you are all moved in and it is harder for you to have to move again to another location than to just eat the extra costs. Here is the language from their contract: "Your Rental Terms May Change with 30 Days' Notice. We may change your Monthly Rent, fees and charges, and any other terms of this Rental Agreement with 30 days' written notice to you." So imagine moving in under a great rate than having your fee adjusted up as much as they desire every few months. read more

Beware of a BAD MOTH PROBLEM! We rented for 3 years while we were doing a to the stud remodel and stored clothes in proper "wardrobe" boxes - including several business suits, coats, sweaters, wool blankets and a tuxedo. When we moved out and got our clothes home, every suit/tux/sweater had been eaten by moths and we had to throw them out as well as sending anything we could keep to the dry cleaners to kill any eggs. Luckily, a rug storage bag saved a valuable wool rug we had rolled up. The cedar sachets we had in the box didn't help. Their "storage insurance" would have been worthless, as it only protects up to $250 in vermin damage and has a deductible on top of that. I discussed with the on-site manager several times and was promised a call back or email and heard nothing. We lost several thousand dollars of clothing while paying them monthly storage fees. read more

9/17/2022 Public Storage, Inc. is an admiral paradigm for American Corporations in general: Hike your fees exorbitantly using a Bait-And-Switch technique; make your bureaucracy impenetrable to valid complaints; hire poorly trained employees for minimum salary and squeeze all you can out of them; and polish your reputation whenever possible by scrubbing your Google reviews. Here is my experience with Public Storage, Inc.: the low rates they initially provided rapidly escalated to $337.00 per month and, before I left, they were going to go up to $411.00 per month for a 10 ft. x 10 ft. storage space in Austin, TX--not New York City; the door to my unit was broken and I couldn't raise it by myself-I reported this on 7/14/22 and when I left on 9/16/22 it was still not fixed. The mover and I had to raise the door using a 3 ton hydraulic floor jack and a 7 foot 2x4 to keep if from falling on us. They are slow to return phone calls if they return them at all. If you have money to burn and you really don't need access to your stuff--don't give it away-give it to these guys and they will charge you outlandish prices and provide zero service when you have a valid problem. Don't look for remedies in the law. They change their corporate name and registered agent (i.e. the company's local lawyer) so frequently that the Texas Secretary of State office could not penetrate this Shell game. We've been trying to get our light fixed for almost 9 months. First...no ladder, ladder was stolen, need more than a light-need a ballast, no venders to OK, no ladder, no one to do it......Broken gates, codes that don't work you name it. Trucks have rammed the gates (the "in" gate is working but the" out "gate is out....so no gates), They disabled the defunct codes (so no locks) and they have a masterful manager of excuses (Angela). In December all the management was in CA for a meeting....no response in Jan., Feb., or March! They're a mess. We've left complaints with corporate...no response. We've been paying $475 a month and it has been AWFUL. Look elsewhere! read more

The staff is great, but the facility is falling apart. The A/C has been out in one building for over a year and is now out in the other building. This is supposed to be climate controlled storage but the inside temperatures run over 85 degrees and over 70% humidity. The lights in my unit have been out ever since I moved in and there doesn't appear to be a plan to fix them. The security system is almost non-existent. In some cases the electronic locks are broken and are dangling by the wires. The security codes for the elevators and exterior doors don't work. Don't store anything valuable here. read more

This is a great facility! Easy access from road and into units. Units are clean dry secure and, if you want it, air conditioned. I used this storage facility when I decluttered and staged my house to sell. It is clean, and everything worked great. Gregory and Lauren were wonderful to work with. They go above and beyond. My only complaint would be that I wish I was able to gain access until 10pm instead of 9pm. read more

I've used storage facilities a few times over the years and this place was a super experience. Gregory and Judy handled everything from paperwork, a tour and instructions on the facilities use without a hitch. Gregory kept in close contact and was flexible in a move-in date.
