Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

It seemed everyone I spoke with, texted with, and met with were experienced service and moving professionals, who take pride in their work, and their customers' experience. I received estimates from many companies, having had difficulty reaching my usual movers, and seeing that their pricing was no longer competitive. All My Sons was by far the best value, the most transparent, efficient, experienced, equipped, organized and most communicative... both prior to and during the move. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Richard Bailey gets 10 stars for price, communication; recognizing the sense of urgency and the crew he hired to complete my move. He actually texted me right away; then we spoke briefly. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! Fabulous company. Absolutely recommend them.

I got a text from him the evening before to change pick up time to 8am. I said 9am would be better. One of his employees called next morning at 9:30am stating they were trying to get a driver. I waited two hours called back and never got an answer. I was also texting Jackson and no response from him either. So I cancelled after two hours of no response. I will never contact this company again.

So where to start…read more The pictures here speak for themselves. So they only loaded the truck, I drove it across country and on the other side the unloaders could not believe how poorly it was loaded. Something as simple as stacking carboard boxes on top of heavy duty bins was missed. (see photos) They put my $60 target stools upside down so the legs were facing upwards and then put my chairs upholstery side down on those legs... they did this for BOTH of my living room chairs... (see photo) They HAD TRIED to put a mini fridge full on the inside on top of a crate and barrel wooden console with tiny thin legs. I made them NOT do that - much to their chagrin - while they walked all over it inside the truck. They ruined approximately $2000 worth of furniture. All in all - I lost more in damages than the loading even cost, got no help afterwards and I am lucky that I escaped with the damage I had - it could have easily been 2x-3x the amount had I let them stack the fridge on top of the other stuff. Probably assumed I went away, but - heres your yelp review.

My point in writing another review is to emphasize that in the years that they have been open they have done nothing additional to secure the property. Our last storage facility had the rolled barbed wire on top of their fence and we never had a problem there. The only reason we left was because the property sold and it was no longer going to be a storage facility. Bergstrom Storage doesn't care. They will just rent to the next rv owner that walks in the revolving door. That is why it is month to month I suppose.

You have the options of leaving stuff out on the curb but I couldn't do that because of my HOA. Also, last time I had left a desk that someone snatched up from the curb. So I didn't want to waste their time again. Their technology use is pretty awesome and respectfully as a IT guy I appreciate how it makes billing simple and easy. He found the person I spoke to and he said they can't honor the price he gave me for 479.99 because there was a miscommunication? I asked what the miscommunication was when he said what the price was 479.99? He stated they can't sell it at that price and walked away. What piss poor customer service not to honor the price they have on webpage and after confirming that was the correct price. This is bait and switch and I can understand not always updating your website but that's why I called and asked for the price and inventory. Very disappointing after driving 30 min to support local Austin business and then 30 min to return home.

I don't understand why AB Moving doesn't have all 5 stars, because they were awesome! I was given a cost quote way ahead of time, and the quote was supposed to be the "starting point", understanding that the total would probably be more. The guys (Juan and Ray) worked quickly and efficiently, and the quote was what I ended up paying. No extra charges or attempt at making more than I was told--in fact, it was obvious these guys were trying to work for ME, and were focused on getting the work done without costing me more. Juan and Ray were very kind and well-mannered, and with me being the only one there at the destination, I had no qualms. They were so respectful and even sat and kindly chatted with me, as I had difficulties when time to pay arrived. My debit card wouldn't work and I had to figure out another way to get payment completed. They waited patiently, and made me feel comfortable and helped my stress level (instead of making it worse, as everyone knows it's a very stressful situation when your only form of payment won't go through!). Here it was Friday night, and they were probably ready to get their day over and done--they were so patient and sweet, never complaining, until I finally figured out how to settle up (which I finally did, thank goodness!)...... I wasn't charged a dime more than the estimate, and they were so sweet, helping me to stay calm and get it paid for! I'm sure the whole crew is a great group of hard-workers, but I truly recommend Juan and Ray, and I'm keeping their names and information for my next move! My wife and I used AB Moving's local moving service to move from Austin to Fort Worth, Texas. We were going to just hire two people from Craigslist, but we thought that we needed to use a service that is reliable in case something bad happened to our stuff. Although, we could have saved money we put our faith and trust in AB Moving based on their reviews and we are glad we did! This was our first time using a service for our move and we have moved a lot in the past (6 total), but going this route this time definitely helped a lot! We packed up our 2 bedroom apartment a week prior to their arrival, and so all they had to do was carry the heavy loads and walk a ton. They skillfully packed our UHaul truck (15") in a span of 3.5 hours from top to bottom - nothing moved around. Only two loaders came to Austin, but they were on time, friendly, and careful with our items and we're glad that nothing was broken! When we arrived in Fort Worth, there were 3 movers that came out to help unload the truck and that was so much faster and took only less than an hour. Overall everything went smooth, and if we move again we would definitely request movers from AB Moving. The whole process was simple. Great customer service. Email and text messages for updates. You can easily reschedule your move date. Save your back and energy. We're glad that we did! Tidbit: When you request their local moving services, they have a 3-hour minimum. After that time, you will be charged every 15-minutes or so. Also, don't forget to give tips and have snacks and water for your movers! read more

Had a late start this morning with a few unforseen mishaps. Our first crew called in sick. Our second had issues with their truck. I have to say I was quite stressed and irritated because we were on a time crunch of our own. However, it couldn't have worked out better for my family and I. TUCK, RUSS, DON, and DREW were amazing, took great care of our belongings, were personable and professional as well...Very unlike other movers we've used in the past. After all was said and done, I'm very happy they are the ones who ended up helping my family move. We had quite a few heavy objects to move down and upstairs and never once did they complain. I have NOT ONE bad thing to say about these four and hope to use them on our next move. If I could give these four men MORE THAN 5 STARS I would!!!! We were also called by a few different people who checked in on us. Everyone seemed to work very hard to make up for the issues that came up this morning. I am so glad other moving companies were to booked to schedule. Monterica was able get on the schedule very impressive considering how busy all moving companies are. Our moving schedule didn't work out due closing delays on a home. She and everyone we worked with was very upstanding, in all honesty I was expecting a charge to reschedule. Shockingly she said to call when we were ready. I called the next morning they were able to at least get one truck to get started. The crew Juan, Ray, Cane were/ are amazing fast, professional, very polite. They are very careful and take all precautions to protect your belongings from getting damaged. They are extremely hard workers its unbelievable how they can do ALL the heavy lifting and keep going until the job is done. Plus still smile laugh and be nice. Wow Wow Wow. I cannot express the amount of joy I had with this moving company. I got the pleasure of working with Jerome and Ashton, two of the sweetest beings I have met. They wrapped everything up beautifully and never made me worry about my items. They asked questions when needed, but were very competent and reliable with how they did their work, so I really didn't need to chip in much. I was able to stay out of their way and let them do their thing. Jerome was so kind, and Ashton was so funny, both being a team that made me feel comfortable. My most appreciative moment was when I had asked them to wear their masks(as my partner and I have compromised immune systems) and they said "no problem" and were able to wear them, helping to reassure me that everything was going to be okay. A good friend of mine referred me to AB Moving and saved me the hassle of research and vetting companies. I could not be happier! It was raining on moving day, which had me stressed out, but Chris and his crew really came through. They were prepared with blankets and furniture wrap and were very good about communication and asking questions about items and figuring out how I wanted things done. They moved me from my apartment into a house start to finish in 4.5 hours, and this included driving time to a storage unit to get an additional apartment's worth of contents, plus a half our drive to the final destination. This was by far the most complex move I've had while simultaneously being the easiest and stress-free in terms of the moving day experience. I have moved over 8 times so I am well aware of trying to always look for good and trustworthy movers. First, the company was very quick and prompt and honored their Fall sale quote they had advertised on social media. When moving day arrived, I was informed an ETA and they updated me with arrival and delays which I really appreciate. Connor and his buddy arrived and began pretty much immediately after signing disclosures and such. I was already prepared with my boxes and wrapped my tv's ahead of time. They still shrink wrapped everything which I thought was nice to see the extra care they took on my belongings. I recommend them 100%. Residential moving is not a business that engenders happiness and enthusiasm among employees. From initial telephone contact through completion of my move, everyone I came in contact with clearly took pride in their work and wanted to insure that I was satisfied with their contribution to the job. Justin, Roy and Ryan packed my heaviest and fragile pieces and made the move the next day. These are three professional, intelligent and pleasant young men who almost made the ordeal enjoyable. The crew gave me a courtesy call about 39 min before the confirmed time to let me know they were coming. They arrived, did a walk through of the house and the 4 man crew divided and conquered. I think they only took two short breaks from 7:30 to 4pm. In the end, they fully loaded two 26' trucks and are coming back in the AM to catch the few remaining items from the backyard left in the garage. We are putting our things in storage and AB will eventually deliver them to us when our new home construction completes; hopefully in about 4 weeks. The team was professional, worked well together and really worked hard all day. I would definitely recommend AB moving for your next move. read more

Last minute change in moving plans left us scrambling with no availability from any moving service providers in Austin (End of July, UT returning students and crazy relo growth). AB had an open slot and J, T & D saved us - literally. We were completely unprepared for movers (due to last minute) but we spent the day working together to get rooms broken down, wrapped, and loaded. AB Moving was recommended to us by a friend. I usually don't write reviews, but our movers really impressed us! We had 5 guys come and help us with two separate trucks (all from AB). I highly recommend this if you are moving a family with a three bedroom house or more. Justin was the coordinator for our move and provided amazing service. He helped us with everything we needed. It was definitely more than I expected. We did a lot of prep and packing, but AB definitely took care of all the heavy lifting. Such a great group of guys. We had a really great time with them! I have used a lot of movers and today I had one of the best moving experiences I've ever had thanks to a AB moving. From the customer service when I called to the guys that showed up to move my furniture everything went smoothly everybody was super nice and friendly. I love that the fee they quote you on the phone is the one they actually charge you there's no extra surprise fees when they get there. The movers were extremely efficient. I recommend and would use this company again. We had a unique move in that we were having new floors put in so we essentially had to move out and move right back in. AB Moving did a great job of communicating and being flexible with timelines that kept moving. They even scheduled a Pod to temporarily move our belongings into while our floors were being done. All of our items from small and delicate to big and awkward were wrapped well and handled with care on both moves with no damage. I called Austin on the 19th to get things moved on the 20th, not only was he accommodating but came in with a price lower than any one else right off the bat .. no haggling .. then the next day 2 guys came out Russell & Payton .. these guys busted, had the move done in the amount of time it would have taken me to move 2 bins. Super nice and professional. Made me feel at ease right away. Everything was cleaned up before they left. They really went the extra mile! Jae and his guy were beyond amazing for our move. Made it nice and smooth. Worked with us and was very patient with as many people were there to try to help. Jae was outgoing and active. I love AB Moving. I've used them twice now and will absolutely use them again and recommend them to others. Jerome and Ash were assigned to my move (1 bedroom, in town). They were a delight to be around! Of course, they handled my things with care and were very mindful of my time (AB Moving charges by the hour). The best part, however, was that they made me smile. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! I was transitioning from a temporary RV living situation, consolidating storage units, downsizing years of accumulated belongings, and moving into a 1BR apartment. The storage units had been packed tightly by previous movers and required careful staging and decision-making during the move itself. The crew worked methodically, blanket-wrapped furniture, pointed out and documented pre-existing marks before loading, and handled difficult maneuvering with impressive skill. They even opened boxes during the process so I could decide in real time what should move, stay, or be repacked. Nothing felt rushed or careless. I had already done substantial prep work to reduce clutter and create access paths, which helped the process, but the team still completed what was conservatively estimated as a 7-hour job in under 5 hours. They assembled the bed, staged furniture, laid rugs, and helped make the apartment immediately functional. Most importantly, they treated both the belongings and the customer with respect throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent, attitudes stayed positive, and they clearly cared about doing the job right. I tipped them well because they earned it. Ironically, I found Unicorn Moving through ChatGPT while searching specifically for movers experienced with senior downsizing and complicated transitions -- and the recommendation turned out to be exactly right.

They broke an expensive lamp and their crew didn't seem to care at all. They left random items behind and didn't care for my items when moving. It took much less than their two hour minimum but I still paid the two hour minimum. There's tons of movers out there - use another one. Unfortunately these guys are great until the actual job itself, in my experience.
