Absolutely recommend Bailey's Moving Company. Gio and Josh rapidly knocked out the job with real care and attention to detail. They were real pros, and on an easily 100+ heat index day, it can slow things down considerably, with a 3 staircase climb over and over. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. I solicited quotes on Saturday morning for a Sunday or Monday move & got back 6 -7 replies, a couple of whom I spoke with on the telephone. Bailey's Moving had the best reviews going in and they offered me the most affordable quote, so after a phone call with David, the Owner/Boss, I booked them for Monday morning. Richard and his crew are absolutely amazing! This was a super last minute request and Richard went above and beyond to make this move happen. The crew was professional, efficient, and fast! And they were better priced than the competition. They moved me out of my one-bedroom apartment from the third floor with no elevator in about an hour, then unloaded me at the new spot downtown AND also moved my boyfriend within the building to our new spot. Placed a quote request on Yelp and was bombarded with responses. A lot of the companies requested more information; some didn't respond. Spoke to one guy who said he would send a quote and never did. Richard Bailey gets 10 stars for price, communication; recognizing the sense of urgency and the crew he hired to complete my move. He actually texted me right away; then we spoke briefly. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! Let me say, he is not the best texter lol bbbbuuuttttt he is a man of his word. I told him what we needed and what needed to be done and it was without issue. I believe we discussed an 8 am move but they did show up a little later than expected but when they got there, they got straight to work. They used 3 movers and we moved from a 3rd floor apartment to a one story house and then moved items to a storage unit. These guys hustled, wrapped everything, and got things done. They were able to organize the mess of boxes and furniture items that we had to figure out what had to go in the trailer first and then physically do it. We had 3 guys and I'm happy I went with 3 instead of the basic 2 because there was a lot more stuff than it seemed like. Not sure what this guy is doing but it was too bizarre. I have to wonder where the 5-star reviews came from. I deleted the poor review because once he saw it then magically, I hear from him. So many excuses. "I tried called you several times but it kept ringing busy. (Um, no, I have been receiving phone calls without issue) Or I replied to the Yelp message. (Um, no, only after I did not hear after 2 days and messaged 'Guess not' and left a bad review) Or there must be something wrong with my phone. (Sure, let's go with that)" On and on. total BS. After I did not hear back from him before last night, I just said in Yelp message "guess not". Then miraculously after a bad review late yesterday I hear from him. I sent a message back to him just now telling him to forget it after our real phone call last night and he promised to get back to me with a scheduled day for in-home estimate. do know I sent a Yelp message on Tuesday. Call was Thursday evening. Today is Friday. "Richard, reviewing my call history there were absolutely no calls from you other than last night. Also, the above moving estimate info was left late yesterday after I left a bad review. Once again, you were to get back to me with a day and time for next week to schedule an in-home estimate. Never heard from you. Too much BS and excuses IMO. I deleted the review as a courtesy, but it is back on. I will be blocking you and as a very educated professional I can tell BS a mile away. I hate moving, but these guys make moving way less painful. These guys are five star and then some. Not a single scratch on anything even though they lugged 300 pound items up the stairs. They were flexible and kind when it turned out that we had too much stuff to transport in just one truckload.
