They were real pros, and on an easily 100+ heat index day, it can slow things down considerably, with a 3 staircase climb over and over. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. I'll try to use them again if and when it happens next, and I'll be recommending them to any friends that are looking for help moving. Good to meet you guys and thanks again for the great work. - CV

Bailey's Moving had the best reviews going in and they offered me the most affordable quote, so after a phone call with David, the Owner/Boss, I booked them for Monday morning. The crew arrived as scheduled and quickly dismantled and wrapped everything that needed it. The men moved carefully but quickly with my property, as if they were having a silent race. With me paying them by the hour -- my kind of guys! Bottom line: my move went off better than I expected. Bailey's Moving Company is a professional operation & you would do well to hire them. Thank you, gentlemen.

I was not incentivized for this review at all. Paid with my own money and found them through Yelp. Why should you just stop researching moving companies and book with them? Here's why: 1. They do what they say and they are professional movers. -Clear quote in writing. They don't chase low rates. You do pay for what you get. Also: -No extra surprise fees -They moved me out of 2 storage units, drove my items to my new home, unloaded that load, then helped me unload and unpack my 16foot pod. 2. Their management is very responsive and clear with pricing and quotes verbally and in writing. Discount if you use zelle or venmo otherwise you pay CC fee of 3%. 3. This crew arrived on the dot, moved my things with care and were SUPER quick working. They unloaded my 2 units and into their truck so fast. Once in my 2 story home they asked where things needed to go. None of this needing to move things after the move. They laid down a protective mat for the dollys and high traffic. They took the extra time to help me place my heavy furniture and took apart and put back together beds after going up and down my stairs. They were super careful not to hit my walls, corners or doors and doorways. I'd 1000% pay the money and hire them again. I've moved 6 times at this point and by far this has been the most pleasant, professional, efficient and enjoyable! While we waited for the pod to arrive (pod was running late) Brandon proactively asked if he could help me unpack my kitchen boxes. He went above and beyond. They worked cleanly putting trash away, boxes broken down and put in a nice pile. Thanks Moving Kings and my crew today! You are wonderful!

I booked Jackson of All Trades after getting several moving quotes because their $150/hour rate was…read moreone of the more affordable options, and a friend had used them before and had a good experience. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

You could tell they really cared about doing the job right and making sure nothing got damaged. They worked hard, stayed positive the whole time, and made what could have been a really stressful day feel easy. Their reviews are what convinced me to book them, and now I'm happy to add another five-star review. 1 Star -- An Extremely Disappointing and Traumatic Moving Experience…read more It has taken me a couple of months to process this experience and honestly get past how traumatic it was, which is why I am only now writing this review. This was my second time using Evolution Movers, and I deeply regret trusting them with my belongings a second time. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. From the beginning, the movers made me feel uneasy and uncomfortable. There were rude, condescending comments made about my belongings, and my wishes regarding how my home and property were handled were repeatedly disregarded. They insisted on going through areas of my home despite my objections and showed a complete lack of care when it came to doorways, floors, and my personal property. I even purchased drinks for the crew, only to have one of the movers tell me, with an attitude, that he didn't like grape Powerade. My belongings were made fun of, and I could hear complaints about having to move certain items, including my plants. As a customer who had hired and paid for a professional moving service, I found this behavior incredibly disrespectful. Unfortunately, the problems weren't limited to their attitude. Multiple items were damaged or broken during transit. Their truck also tore up my driveway while backing in, once again demonstrating what felt like a complete disregard for my property. Perhaps one of the most unprofessional things I witnessed was the movers working out on our gym equipment while they were on the clock. I did purchase insurance through the company to protect against damage. However, getting the damage addressed was not a simple process. It ultimately required me to have a contractor come out, assess the damage, and provide a written estimate before the company would cover the full amount of the insurance I had purchased. I did make management aware of what happened. The explanation I received was that they were understaffed and hot, as though those circumstances explained or excused the way I and my belongings were treated. Being understaffed or working in the heat does not justify disrespecting a customer's home, belongings, property, or boundaries. As a veteran and healthcare professional, I have always believed in treating people and their property with respect, professionalism, and dignity. I expect the same when I hire a company to come into my home and handle everything I have worked hard for. This experience was far beyond simply having a few things damaged during a move. It was the overall lack of professionalism, respect, care, and consideration that made this experience so upsetting. I gave Evolution Movers a second opportunity based on my previous experience with the company. I sincerely regret that decision. I cannot recommend Evolution Movers based on my experience. If you are considering hiring them, I strongly encourage you to ask very specific questions about how they handle property, damage, employee conduct, and customer complaints before trusting them with your home and belongings.
