She also checked on us multiple times and refilled our waters. Food & drinks: We absolutely enjoyed everything! Safe to say the hype is real. 1) Curry Crab Omelette - This is my favorite dish. This was presented on a small skillet with rice in a separate bowl. The omelette was drenched in curry. The curry was seasoned well, semi thick consistency, with a hint of spice. 2) Vietnamese Shaken Beef (one w/ garlic noodles & one w/ rice) - I personally prefer the shaken beef at Vox. For whatever reason, the beef seemed to be overcooked bc it was very chewy. The vegetables tasted as expected, and the red rice was really delicious. The garlic noodles were good. 3) Lemongrass Tofu - The tofu was cooked well and seasoned deliciously. 4) 5-Spice Roasted Chicken - Exactly what the description says. The roasted chicken was huge. We weren't sure exactly what it was seasoned with, but we all devoured it. Yum! 5) Lychee Milk Punch - It's not dinner without alcohol. I thought it was pretty strong with the rum & whiskey. As for the rib bone pho, it absolutely lived up to the menu description. The meat came clean off the bone. Usually, rib bone pho can skew a bit too heavy and fatty, but this broth was incredibly balanced. I actually found myself enjoying the natural flavor without immediately reaching for the hoisin sauce. Plus, a major bonus: they offer unlimited noodle refills! As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. Read the review, saw all the photos and also menu. We had to try this place. We ordered the following items: Drinks: Lychee Lemonade - Excellent and very refreshing. You can taste the lychee and hint of lemonade. They put some puree lychee and a whole lychee in the drink as a garnish. Mango Dragon fruit Tea - Very tasty and fresh. Packs lots of flavor, you can taste the mango and the hint of dragon fruit. Garnish with a mint sprigs and a dehydrated blood orange. Food: Spicy Won Ton - Won Ton was wrapped in a thin wrapper and the filling is excellent. Lots of flavor and a light kicked from the chili sauce. Mushroom and Rib-eye stir fry over rice - beef and mushroom cooked perfectly together, beef was super tender.
