I am so bummed because I thought I would love this place. Unfortunately this was a waste of $30. I want to start off that their order process is simple - at the counter or the kiosk. The staff seem to be more focused on getting out orders so I do recommend ordering at the kiosk otherwise you may be standing a while. Banana cloud matcha: 3.5/5 The banana cloud portion was heavenly. My drink came out quickly. I got it at regular sweetness (50%), however after tasting it, I wish I got it at 75%. Though the matcha was very bright, it lacked flavor and fell flat. Food: here is where things went very wrong. I ordered my bowl after 12, which they note would come warm. It was barely room temp. My chicken also had a piece of eggshell on it (visible through the lid), and a hair... at that point I was thinking "what else am I going to find in here". I picked off the egg shell, no biggie, but finding a hair on the chicken in addition was very off putting. I didn't have time to go back and ask them to remake but it was certainly a waste. I'm fully aware that the staff are college students but they need to wear hair nets and ensure food waste isn't making its way into orders.
Interesting matcha drinks. We were in the area to fix up our bike and wanted to check out a matcha place that's unique to Irvine. Mori's was nearby and had great reviews, so we stopped by not realizing there was a 2-year anniversary BOGO event. Parking was easy in the front. Some spots are listed for 10 minutes or 30 minutes parking. There was also a parking garage. For the 2-year anniversary, if we spent over $15, we could spin the wheel. We won a Mori magnet that was heavy duty. Out front, they had a decoration station of your cups. Service was fast considering there was a promotion on their season drinks. Only the pumpkin or mango seasonal drinks were BOGO 50% off. I ordered the Shizouka Matcha Latte with regular sweetness (50%). It wasn't too sweet, so I should have went with extra sweetness. The matcha was chalky with a fruity aftertaste. It kind of tasted like mango before I tried the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha Latte. I liked the sago in the Mango Coco Pomelo. However, the mango wasn't that strong after I mixed the Mango Coco Pomelo Matcha. Maybe due to the event and flux of customers, the drinks didn't taste as good as I expected due to the reviews. The service was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
-Drinks: I've tried both their banana matcha and pistachio matcha latte. The matcha taste is strong. Both were solid drinks, and the banana cream topping was especially tasty. -Parking: Parking is a little limited, and most spots are only 30-minute parking. That said, it's usually not too hard to find a spot. -Service: Customer service is alright. Most of the times I've been there, the staff didn't seem to be in the best or most energetic mood. -Ambiance: The shop has its own cute vibe, but it's pretty small, so I wouldn't say it's the best spot for studying. They do have a few tables outside.
The cutest little matcha shop tucked away in a residential strip mall between apartments and high rise condos. In addition to having great quality matcha, they really craft some amazing flavored drinks that aren't overly sweet or artificial. They also have a food menu, and great grab and go options. They don't have interior seating but, do have a couple of tables outside. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and they really take their time to craft your drinks with attention to detail! If you're a true matcha lover, Mori's is a must visit!
So good! Jealous of all the students who get access to great matcha all the time. I loved the Creamy Pistachio Matcha latte! I ordered it less sweet, and it was the perfect level. As someone who hates overly sweetened drinks, I appreciate the ability to customize any drink and how they use a light hand when it comes to sugar levels. Big fan of the cheese foam--it balances the drink nicely. Overall great selection of drinks and the matcha is solid!
Mori's. Finally made it here. Very lucky to find a parking spot right away in front Good selection of matcha drinks. Got a Shizuoka. Great quality matcha flavor. Wasn't too sweet. Sugar didn't over power the matcha flavor. Customer service was great. Ordered through a kiosk. And the drinks came out pretty quick. Definitely be back to try the other flavors
- plenty of parking out front, it's situated within an apartment complex - it's compact inside and not too study/work friendly, though good for chatting - there was so much variety in the menu! It seems they introduce new flavors and drinks pretty often so that keeps things interesting - staff was super sweet! We went near closing but she was still accommodating and attentive (1) shizouka matcha (rich for +$1) - it was so bright and refreshing! The aftertaste of the matcha was creamy and almost fruity? It was very enjoyable. The 25% sweetness was perfect for me (2) double matcha: - a more indulgent drink with that cheesy matcha foam - it's slightly lighter in matcha flavor compared to the first drink but still tasty! - this matcha flavor profile is more mellow
Mori's is pretty hidden but super cute and welcoming establishment! I ordered a coconut coffee and it was pretty good, you are able to adjust the sweetness of your drinks which is really convenient. I got 50% sweet and the drink itself was really satisfying as the coconut flavor in the coffee really popped out (I usually find other coffee places to lack a good coconut flavor but this place did amazing). Not to mention, I absolutely adore the workers here, the kindest young ladies ever! They made my day with their compliments and generous customer service! Definitely recommend everyone to give this place a try!
I didn't expect to like this place, but the moment I turned my head and saw displays of Marukyu Koyamaen matcha, as well as seeing it being used in their kitchen, my eyes lit up. I knew that was a sign that their matcha was going to be legit. What I ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte DRINK: 8/10 I think next time I'm going to order a plain Iced Matcha Latte with no fixings. The Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte was good, but the strawberry tasted a bit too sweet and artificial for my liking (it's actual strawberry puree as the owner mentions below, which is worth mentioning). I could be wrong, but I think without the strawberry, the matcha itself would shine even more. SERVICE: 8/10 You order through the self-kiosks, and my drink came out really quickly. Serving was very straightforward and quick, which makes sense since this is more of an in-and-out kind of spot. AMBIANCE: 7/10 A cozy, tiny spot that's more suitable for grab-and-go. There are a few indoor seats, as well as some outdoor seating, but I'd probably come here more for the drinks to go than to hang out.
Excellent matcha!! Hidden between apartments and corporate buildings, you wouldn't expect to find quality matcha tucked away here. Service is fast and everything I'm looking for in searching for a legit matcha place Tried Guava matcha which was great because a lot place don't do them. Def recommend I would also recommend the Hojicha Extra points for having multiple options for Japanese matcha from different regions!
1. I love the creamy texture of the matcha, and I can definitely taste the pistachio nuts! The sandwich was also well-crafted! 2. The spot has chill casual vibes! The interior is cozy! 3. The staff was friend and timely with my order! It was ready in about 10 mins! 4. There are indoor and outdoor seatings! There are few tables! 5. I had this place bookmarked for a while so was excited to finally try this spot given its good reviews. Upon entering, you see the place has very limited seating and limited outdoor parking as well. I got the Shizouka matcha latte. The staff asked if I wanted original, rich or extra rich, so I picked extra rich for more matcha flavor. It wasn't until check out did I realize it was an extra $2 charge! The staff didn't inform me of this so I ended up getting the original. This drink was quite disappointing. For a place that specialzies in their matcha, you can't taste much matcha flavor at all. A lot of people seem to be getting their flavored matchas so maybe that's what their better for, but just as an original matcha latte, it's a hard pass. I also tried the Sesame Cloudy hojicha which comes with a biscoff biscuit. This too, didn't have a good blend of flavors. The hojicha was not very strong and the sesame flavor was only in the powder they sprinkle on top, not the actual drink. I also tried their foods, the Unagi grain bowl and Garlic chicken breast bowl. They both came with a decent amount, had some veggies and corn. Flavor itself was good, not too outstanding and the unagi had quite a few tiny bones in there. For a place that had limited seating, if you came at a busy time, you'd really have nowhere to enjoy the food. Although majority of people come just for drinks, they also sat around to drink too. Given the quality of food and drinks, the price was also on the higher side. Overall, would probably pass if you're looking for a good drink spot given other better spots in Irvine.
I've been on a blueberry matcha grind, as I still feel a plain simple matcha latte is best made at home. Mori's matcha definitely delivered on the flavor here. I noticed they prescoop their fruit puree/jam(?) in cups to store in their front display fridge. There is a kiosk to order or you can order at the front with a staff member if available. Several signs posted around the store with special flavors & an opportunity for free Assam milk tea with Yelp review. I got the blueberry matcha with 75% sweetness. I tried to sip the matcha first without mixing too much, but with 1 stir I could already taste the blueberry. A few stirs in, I was drinking a perfectly sweetened blueberry matcha, but I was concerned about the rest of the blueberry puree still at the bottom of the cup. Next time, I would further decrease the sweetness since the puree is quite sweet after mixing all the way. I needed to wait for the ice to melt a bit to balance this. Otherwise, the puree itself had bits of blueberry that I could taste, would get again!

Whoever made this salad popped their hello kitty. Lots of cheese, chicken, and croutons. The chicken was flavorful and not dry. The croutons and dressing both taste great. I have no complaints 10/10. read more

Came when it first opened and really enjoyed the flavor of the matchas! There was no line and the staff is very nice as well and I would say the matcha is pretty affordable for the quality! It's definitely not too sweet but I came back another day and tried the Taro Berry Matcha and it was so good! Small store so wouldn't recommend studying here but good for a quick matcha run! read more
I visited Mori's this morning 5/2 around 10am. I was not greeted by either of the workers (there was 2of them). When I was trying to place an order Lina was at the register on facetime with a female. She didn't end the call to take my order instead she continued to talk to the female on FaceTime while I was ordering. Instead of Lina ending her personal call and providing me with the adequate customer service she continued to stay on the phone. I then asked what was the most popular coffee because I've only ordered matcha before, but since she was too busy on the phone she didn't provide feedback instead pointed at the menu. I ordered 2 matcha lattes & a coconut coffee. First off, the matcha latte lacked matcha flavor. They are not whisking the matcha to order. They pour the pre whisked matcha from a jar & pour into the drinks. I strongly believe that this is the reason why the matcha lacks flavor since it sits in the jar & oxidizes. They are also not busy for them to not be whisking every drink to order. The coconut coffee that I ordered lacked coconut flavor, so I kindly asked the cashier Lina to swap it out for another drink & she said no I can't my manager said I can't. I was so confused because i've never heard of such a thing. If the customer isn't satisfied wouldn't you want to make it right? Well not at Mori's. Lina had horrible customer service & had a horrible experience. I would not recommend you to come here. read more

I loveee Mori's! I really like the matcha latte, strawberry matcha latte, and the matcha tea. The matcha flavor is strong imo, especially in the matcha tea. Overall, I think this place has great quality matcha drinks and would def come back! read more

I've gotten Mori's matcha a couple of times to confidently say that their double matcha is on the watery side. The matcha flavor is present, but tastes weak and highly diluted with a lot of water, as if the drink was just 30% matcha and 70% water or matcha water. This may suit those who are new to matcha and aren't super adapted to strong matcha, possibly reflecting the majority of the people giving this place high ratings. read more

For $, I was going into this thinking that it would be cheaper. I still spent around $20 for the eel bowl I got, but I will say that they give so much eel, like a large portion of it. The bowl itself was delicious and had a nice health and feel to it. This is very new so sometimes they give out some things on the house; I got fresh watermelon juice. It's a super casual place, and I definitely recommend trying this place if you're on the go. read more

I ordered the Uji Matcha Latte regular, 25% sweetness, and it tasted great. The matcha was perfect sweetness and the cream on top was a good aesthetic. The size of the drink was perfect for the cost. The employee answered my questions and had a good attitude. read more

Mori's matcha green tea is worth every penny. They get their matcha straight from Japan! Unlike other matcha tea places that use the powder that mimics the authentic matcha, here you can taste the difference in the quality. The barista was so friendly and explained their menu very well. They offer a lot of food options that look delicious and we will be back to try them. Highly recommend the matcha ! read more

This place opened up next to my fitness studio and I have so many AMAZING things to say about it! Their bowls are SUPER healthy and nutritious and they provide you with the calorie count! And I just know their ingredients are super fresh and organic. But the spotlight for me are the DRINKS. I asked the person serving me what their speciality is and he said uji matcha and taro! I ended up getting their taro black boba milk tea and assam black boba milk tea. You can tell that the taro they use is SUPER FRESH. And it's not overwhelmingly sweet even with boba! Definitely found one of my go to drink spots and can't wait to try the rest of their menu read more

The matcha was okay, they were out of their usual matcha powder, but the one they used was fine. The chicken bowl was a bit bland, I would've liked to have more sauce with it. Service was fast and the cafe is cute. Not a lot of seating, so better for takeout. read more

I love this place!! The biscoff cookie with the cream top is so yummy. They also don't have their matcha too sweet and the drink looks so cute. I've studied here a few times and there are plugs, but it's a bit small. I will definitely be coming back! read more
