I am an experienced gardener and have spent a tremendous amount of time and money at nurseries over the years. But my experience at Moon Nursery was like no other from the very beginning. Unlike most nurseries, I was relieved to find a helpful, cheerful and professional, person, William B, waiting for me at the entrance of Moon Nursery. I was prepared, had my HOA approved list trees with me, gave it to William and off we went. If not for William I would have been wondering around Moon Nursery in the heat for hours looking for the allowed tree's. William also recruited his Manager, Dillion, when we had questions that went beyond his knowledge. We were delighted that we were able to quickly select trees that were allowed, beautiful and large in size! A few weeks later Moon installed our trees. The install team was efficient and professional!! We were so happy with our first experience with Moon that we went back for round two! Purchased 11 more trees! With this round of trees William and Dillion took the time to perform an on site visit to ensure a well organized install and that trees were placed in appropriate locations. The trees were so large they had to be craned in. Moon worked seamlessly with our HOA. The street outside our home had to be blocked off for the crane install. Moon provided safe traffic control for over 2 hours for the install. Again, the install crew was amazing! The whole Moon experience was impressive!! Not to mention their guarantee, which should be an industry standard! I would highly recommend Moon Nursery. Cannot say much good about this company. We have hired Moon Valley Nurseries to plant plants in our back yard which should have been an easy project; however, has been a disaster from the communication of the company to the plants planted. When the company initially came to plant the 15 plants in the backyard the customer service was terrible. The guy in charge of the plant that day was not customer friendly and rude. They came to plant the plants in less then 30 minutes, planted dead plants, didn't take out some of the dead plants where they were replacing new ones, didn't plant all of the plants, went into my garage without permission and dropped off the moon juice without communication of doing so. After about a week, 75% of the plants died. Moon Valley Nurseries still had not reached out to schedule when they were going to plant the 3 plants that they forgot. Upon many attempts to contact the company, someone reached out to us about 2 weeks later apologizing for the bad customer service and they would be out to plant the plants that still needed to be planted and replace the ones that died under the 90 day warranty. Fast forward to a week later when they came to plant......they only brought and planted the plants that still need to be planted and NOT THE DEAD ONES!! I am now currently in the same position where nobody has reached out to schedule a time yet again to come out and re plant the dying plants. TERRIBLE! I was hoping to use this company for my front yard, but will definitely not be using this company. I do not recommend this company to anyone. read more

As new residents of a desert environment, I am very unfamiliar with desert landscaping & the care of desert plants. I was extremely pleased with the service & advice I received from Nursery & Design Specialist Richard Moore when I went to Moon Valley. Each of the 3 times I went to Moon Valley to add to or change my plant selections, Richard was very informative and patient with me. The day before the scheduled plant installation, Kaelen contacted me both by phone message and by email to confirm the timeframe that the installer team would be at my home. On the day of installation, Matt, the foreman, texted me to let me know they were on their way. The 5-man planting team that came was very organized. They clearly were very experienced landscape installers. Matt instructed me in the watering and care of our new plants. Went to them and bought 3 ficus trees and, later, a Christmas tree. All were incredibly expensive, but considering the perceived quality, I thought worth it. Fast forward a couple years. Two trees are doing great. The largest of the three, in our front yard, was leaning at about a 30 degree angle. Called Moon Valley and they said send a photo. Did that. Got a call that straightening the tree would be $950 AND told I had to pay the full amount in advance. No way that's happening. Was told the man on the phone would ask "the boss" about the pay in advance thing and call me back. You guessed it. Never called back. I wouldn't do business with these (in my opinion) crooks if they were the only nursery in town. read more

Stay away from Moon Valley's trees! I've purchased several trees from Moon Valley and other nurseries and consistently Moon Valley's trees are the only ones to have major issues. Moon Valley's employees act friendly and come off as potentially knowledgeable but as soon as they arrive on-site with the delivery, any kind of trust goes out the window. They might have seemed knowledgeable but if you ask any arborist or learn more than the most basic of knowledge regarding trees, their practices will cause you to waste your time and money. All of the trees they planted had issues regarding root flare height, girdled roots, or other critical problems that won't be evident until a year or two after planting. To no surprise, their warranties end around this time. Moon Valley's prices are often just slightly below other competitor's prices but never go with the lowest bid; purchasing from Moon Valley will result in wasted time, sweat, and money regardless of any marginal price tag savings. read more

It has taken me some time to write this review. My experience happened some months ago and I thought maybe I had a one off experience, but the more I have been active in gardening groups around town the more I have learned of the shady practices of this company. In May (during Covid lockdown) I reached out to the nursery inquiring about purchasing some trees. In hindsight I should have not continued my purchase when I had to follow up 3 times just to get someone to call me back. I realize it was during Covid, but I was assured they had a full team working and I just slipped through the cracks. I also was ensured it wasn't too late in the season to plant trees. that they would be fine even with summer barreling towards us. I went ahead and purchased 3 trees over the phone. I was assured I would receive photos of the trees they picked for me and could change them out if I wanted. I never got the photos and no one ever returned my calls or emails. They sure got my money fast though. They showed up one day to plant (again without calling to confirm) and the first tree was in the ground before I answered the door. If that wasn't the case I would have refused the tree. It was a joke of a tree - in fact we became the laughing stock of the community for some time. I will post a photo of the goal post tree! The crew then planted the 2 other trees very quickly. They didn't water them like I was told they would and I wasn't given any instructions on how to care for them. I was told I should have received that already. I reached out and finally got someone to respond and I received a generic "how to" piece of paper when I had originally purchased I was told I would receive care on each specific tree. Well 2 of the 3 trees survived - Yes, I know we had a rough summer, but I have since been told we never should have planted as late as we did. That Moon Valley works on commissions and they go through sales people like no business. They will tell you what you want to hear in order to make the sale. The stories I have heard from other people are atrocious - I won't put them here as they aren't my stories to tell and I can't confirm them. Oh and yes, I know I could have purchased the warranty, but why the need to do that if the trees were healthy to begin with and planted correctly? There shouldn't need to be a warranty purchased. I learned my pricey lesson and won't be purchasing trees again from Moon Valley. read more

Just a word to review the MVP tree care program. When they say they will replace the tree for any reason if you are dissatisfied they mean it. We had four fruit trees planted, and didn't like the fruit from two of them. They were replaced with different varieties without any fuss or muss. They always do a great job planting, and the follow up visits are always informative. Sheldon does a great job evaluating each tree's health, fertilizing and trimming them, and I always learn more about taking care of my trees properly. read more

Up until today, I would have given 5 stars. Today, I'm frustrated. We had 2 trees planted in February. Planting crew did a great job. Both trees have the year warranty and I bought the maintenance agreement so I could get help if needed. The "giant" ficus was staked; the "huge" peach tree was not. When I asked about staking it, I was told it wasn't necessary but if it needed it at any time, I could get it done. Well, 2 months have gone by. The tree is beautiful and full of fruit. And it's no longer standing up straight; it's leaning - a lot. So I called- sure they can stake it, in 4 weeks! after all - "they really busy" and it can always be replaced... read more

Customer service..Beware. I've purchased many trees from Moon Valley over the years. Times have changed clearly and my experience over time has soured me on Moon Valley. They are eager to sell but then the experience breaks down. My experience, most recently, was in purchasing over $6500 worth of shrubs and a tree. I guess that's a small order not worthy of returning calls, texts, or emails. Poor communication with 811, all voice mail inboxes at Moon Valley full, and they just didn't show with no notice for our scheduled planting. I took time to be there from my schedule, but they didn't show to plant or provide notice. Currently trying after over 5 phone calls, 2 emails, and a text to get reimbursed for the labor on what wasn't planted. Consider my experience in making your own decisions. read more

We bought 3 young citrus trees from here and while our check out process was quick and easy and well explained to us, come to delivery day and we find out that our order was never placed for delivery so the delivery team never knew. That was frustrating but they were very helpful to get a delivery rescheduled and squeezed us in the next week. On the bright side they did give us a few boxes of moon juice on the house after that hurdle. Come planting day, the team was quick, efficient, and communicative. Downside here was I discussed staking with the head delivery man and he said it's not necessary for trees so young but they can be staked for a fee. At the time I didn't think it necessary but heavy winds came days later and lo and behold I thought one of our trees would fly away. HOWEVER, Savannah Palmer at the Arcadia Moon Valley Nursery went above and beyond and reached out to us every step of the way and checked in afterwards with us and even assigned a team to stake our trees as we found out we paid for originally. All in all, for every hurdle we've ran into, Moon Valley Nursery and Savannah have provided a solution we could be satisfied with and plan to be repeat customers. read more

We live about 10-12 miles NorthEast of the Tatum Store. We decided to visit a few months back, and sadly came away empty handed...pretty sure we would not be returning or recommending Moon Valley to any of our friends. We were treated poorly to say the least, and with considerable condescension by a lead person on duty. That might have been the end of any business relationship between the Parsons and Moon Valley. But oddly enough, we ran into Tony Giancalone and he persuaded us to try a return visit. He was very knowledgable, and helped us select a lovely Yucca Rostrata (Huge). We were excited for Tony's expert help, and so look forward to enjoying this addition to our property. We visited Moon Nursery about a month ago while landscaping our backyard, we were talked into a home consultation that comes with a few of $200.00. The consultant arrived and walked around the yard with us and threw out several different plant names for different areas of the yard and scribbled some notes in a pad. After not hearing from him in the timeframe that he promised to have a plan laid out, we called to find out when we could come look at the designs / computer mock up, but to our surprise all we got was a copy of the notes he took during the walk through our backyard. That's when they disclosed that your $200.00 was not refundable, and you needed to spend a minimum of $3000 to recoup your consultation fee. They delivered them & carefully navigated our rather narrow steppingstones to put them in place without damaging a thing. I bought two palm trees from Mason at Moon Valley. I went back three times to make sure I loved my choice. Mason was super kind and patient and even came out to my home to make sure I had chosen correctly for my spots. He was amazing to work with. When Roger and his crew showed up, they worked like a fine oiled machine. When they started digging the holes, they ran into pipe. They had extra pipe and fittings along and set to work re-routing the pipe. These six gentlemen work in unison digging, measuring, fitting pipe, hauling out dirt and planting the trees. Then came the fertilizer and backfilling. When they left, the trees were planted, fed, watered, and the surrounding area was immaculate. I cannot express how impressed I am with this whole experience. From Mason in sales to Roger and crew, I am overjoyed with this whole experience. Awesome job guys!!! read more
