i entered a review of moon valley nurseries shortly after buying a whopping nine plants for $500. on that review i was unaware that the driver (who by the way showed up unexpectedly before seven am and i was to call at 7;30am to find out who my driver was with my plants and when the planters estimated a time of arrival that day. i looked at my cell phone at 7:15am and noticed i had two voice mails: one left shortly before seven and one about seven am. i was not and i say not expecting anyone but when i called "scott" back he said he had arrived and was ready to plant. he said he went in my backyard and did not see any red stakes indicating if i wanted any of those plants put in by back yard.. then he told me he "rang your door bell and no one answered. i asked him how in the world he could ring my door bell with my gate shut and locked: his response and a direct quote: "oh, i "hopped your gate to ring your door bell". now scott is at least 180lbs coming down on the hinges of my $1,000.00 gate which he broke and i was furious that an adult man would "hop" a gate for any reason. it is unacceptable to jump over anyone's gate for any reason. he was honest and said he would fix it and said "i used to work with gates so i can fix it" i never heard from him again which gave me only one choice but to call his supervisor. once his superiors found out he broke a very expensive gate, he started lying and stating he did not :hop" the gate. he was not a man to come to the plate and be honest. i told his supervisors i would not stand for being basically lying. i had direct quotes and two voice mails that he was at my door. i literally had a fight to fight to get this horrible nursery to finally tell me to find someone to fix the gate, i would pay and they would reimburse. the workers like chris and others were nasty to me, often raising their voices and being very disrespectful to me. i regret so much that i ever stepped on their property of severely overpriced plants that are not even as nice as lowe's nursery. i got 16 plants at lowe's that are beautiful for $250.00 . figure the math. if you want to pay an arm and a leg and be treated like crap and risk the ignorant poor judgment drivers of the plants then the risk is on you. i will never step a foot in this seriously mean individuals and horribly overpriced plants ever again. i recommend lowe's. and by the way the warranty at lowe's is one year whereas at this horrible moon valley they only warranty for ninety days. thanks moon valley for being so nasty and mean to me and robbing me basically of $500 for tiny plants when i got 16 plants at lowe's that are gorgeous for $262.00/ i will resent you moon valley that it took a fight for me to get you to cover the cost of repair of my gate. and yes i still have the invoice to bring in. we will see if you are honest re: reimbursing me as if i don't get my money i will obtain the services of an attorney i already have on board against you!!!!! read more

We were searching for a replacement for our 40' tall tree which had been destroyed by Tucson's Monsoon winds in 6/21. Not able to find the caliber of tree we desired locally, we drove two hours to the Moon Valley Nursery in Chandler, Az. where design specialist Ray Sauve was patiently awaiting our arrival. He drove us through 30 acres of the most beautifully cared for trees, cacti and agave we'd ever had the pleasure of seeing, showing us the specimens he had previously marked for our examination. Mr.Sauve's knowledge, skill, creativity and insight astounded us and his input was essential to our selection of a grand Chilean Mesquite of massive proportions. He made certain we understood the entire process of transporting, planting and caring for this marvel of Mother Nature and discussed design options for us to consider for our yard in the near future. He was a superb and very well-informed representative of Moon Valley Nurseries. We felt very fortunate to learn from him. The team of workers who arrived to our home with our carefully wrapped tree on a flat-bed truck worked efficiently, energetically, and with great care. They transported our tree from the flatbed truck, through the air via a crane, and securely into the ground, demonstrating great skill and sensitivity. Going above and beyond our expectations, soil adjustments were made, fertilizer applied, and a incline of river rock was placed to incircle the tree and guarantee effective watering. We're certain that Moon Valley Nursery provides the very highest level of botanical specimens available in the southwest, and this is met in equal measure by the caliber of their staff members and the care given to every plant, purchase and customer. It was worth every penny and we look forward to working with them come spring! read more

We had a great experience today at Moon Valley Nurseries at their 8550 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Peoria AZ location. We went there with the intention of buying a Christmas tree. We were met by Sam, who talked to us about the option to purchase a live Christmas tree that could stay in the house during the Christmas season and then be planted outside on our property. He explained everything about the process and gave us a great deal. He then called ahead to the Moon Valley Christmas tree lot just up the street since we wanted to purchase a second tree. When we got to the lot, we were met by Doug and Matt who again, answered every question and helped us get started. Matt was amazing - he walked with us, gave us some great advice on tree care and helped us select the right tree. He then took care of absolutely everything while we drank the hot cocoa he made for us. Matt trimmed the tree, brought it out to the car, got it secured on the roof and sent us on our way back to the main location to finalize our deal. He was extremely helpful and both he and Doug made the experience enjoyable which was a huge plus. Back at the main store, Austin took over and helped us make the right arrangements to have the other tree delivered. Again, more great customer service. We got what we needed and were in and out in no time. I was extremely impressed and encouraged by the level of professionalism and customer service we received from everyone we met or dealt with at both locations. Customer service is such a huge part of a buying experience and these guys seem genuinely interested in the customers they are serving. Well done. We will definitely be back next year and during the spring/summer to address other landscaping needs. Thanks! read more

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, my fiance and I had a great experience last weekend. We first went to another nursery because coworkers suggested Moon Valley as too corporate and we should go to ______ nursery since they have better plants and the people care more. We spent 25 minutes walking around this other nursery without a single person saying hi or helping us, plus we didnt see a single thing we liked! We decided they didnt deserve our money and drove to Moon Valley. Yes there are sales people at the gate, but hey they are there to help! We were first helped by Gary and received a bunch of info. We had to leave for an appointment but came back afterwards to pickup what we decided on. Yvette helped us pick out the plants and trees we had seen earlier, she was helpful and answered all our questions. We were on a tight budget due to other house projects and getting married this year and she kept that in mind. They were also very knowledgeable on plants that are bad for dogs, which was a big deal for us. They had tons of great looking plants and trees, and I think the ones we picked out were less expensive than the other nursery that was suggested. They also gave us a packet of info on planting and watering needs since I have a truck and was able to plant everything myself. We already went back a second time to pick more bushes to put in among the trees we bought the first time. Anyone shopping around, check this place out! Thank you Yvette and Gary! read more

DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICE!!!!! I went to purchase almost 10, 000.00 worth of trees for my sister and while there, I told RYAN ( at Tatum) that I had to Sissoo trees planted in my courtyard which an arborist said needed to come out immediately. The sales person, Ryan , Informed me that a man name "Archer" who no longer works with the company was the person who sold/ approved the installed on them and it should never have been done. He then went on to explain that there was a giant lawsuit with Silverleaf because this tree should never have been sold to that community and that residents are paying up to $50,000 per home to remove them... hence the lawsuit. Long story short, *AFTER* my sister's check cleared for, Ryan basically said they aren't going to honor anything he told me and they plan on doing nothing, but offering me a discount to remove their mistake ! We are working with a local news station, as well as seeking legal assistance to resolve this matter. You are about to walk into the friendliest but most DECEPTIVE sales team in the 85254 area. PS they will tell you they have a new computer system and can't find records of your purchase. Since I have purchased trees from them for years I am absolutely disgusted that this illegal in Deceptive Sales Practices allowed to take place. I plan on pursuing it because I can't imagine how many families they are screwing over every single day. read more

So I wasn't really sure where to post this because the person that helped me was actually online so I just kinda picked a store that I am near. I was looking online for people in my area that sold trees and stuff for my backyard. I just recently got my pool finished and now I needed to set up my paradise. On my search I found Moon Valley Nurseries. So I was searching their website when I got started chatting with one of their online nursery guys-Paul-. He gave me a ton of good ideas on what to do and how to make my pool area come together. After a while of chatting he invited me to meet him at the nursery nearest me to show me the plants and than he offered to come back to my house and show me exactly where I was going to want to plant it. So I meet with Paul at the nursery on Tatum (thats why I put this review here), he showed me around and got me really excited to be able to fulfill my goals for my tropical backyard. After we got everything picked out and paid for he followed me back to my yard and put in the markers so the planters would know where to plant everything. Everything has been planted and the follow up by Paul has been awesome, he has been able to answer all my questions and concerns. I would say to check them out and give em a try, I was very pleased with the amount of services and the quality of the material at this nursery. read more

We are selling our house and needed to add some landscaping to our backyard. We needed to get everything selected and installed within 24 hours (in time for our open-house). I called and spoke with Zak Coronado early Saturday morning and told him what I needed to accomplish (and most importantly "when"). Zak immediately checked with management and arranged to accommodate our needs. Zak helped by texting us some photos so we could quickly come in and select everything we needed from a huge inventory. Zak was able to quickly review our HOA requirements and insure that everything was OK. Sure enough, 6:30 a.m. (The next morning) they showed up with our huge order and a team of really professional and helpful installers. Of course we had to do our part and have a pretty good idea of where we wanted everything to go. They helped us with some of the last minute changes (with placement) - but WOW, they were really efficient (and knew exactly what they were doing) - we were so impressed by how helpful and efficient everyone was - in less than 24 hours they were able to transform our entire backyard into a peaceful paradise. The customer service team at Moon Valley Nursery, located in Chandler, AZ stepped up their game today. Robert Reetz, customer service extraordinaire, has gone beyond the typical definitions of "customer service" contained within a corporate job description template. He was able to personalize my experience with Moon Valley Nursery by stepping into my shoes and perform the physical tasks of my shopping experience. An important note: I am located in Cincinnati, OH. Today was my mom's birthday. I couldn't decide what to get her, which caused me to procrastinate my purchase. When I decided on a plant that my mom could keep longer than a bouquet on her table, I called Moon Valley and talked to Robert. Robert understood my proximity issue and that it was my mom's birthday. He suggested a nice rose bush, he physically picked it out, and then Robert, after his shift ended, drove the rose to my mom's house, showed her how to plant it/take care of it - he was basically my proxy for my mom's birthday. Robert recognized my desire to get a present to my mom on her birthday, and even said "we all love our mom's, especially on their birthdays." He followed through; I can't thank him enough. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! My husband and I went to the Scottsdale nursery looking to get some advice on landscaping our back yard. We were greeted immediately by Debbie, very friendly asked some questions and said lets go sit down inside and see what we can come up with. Got a design figured out and then Debbie took us for a walk around the nursery and gave suggestions for trees, shrubs etc. We picked out a beautiful Olive tree and others and went back to talk cost!! Took a while but Debbie and the manager Jason wanted us to walk out that afternoon with smiles on our faces. Jason reworked the numbers a few times to give us everything we wanted with the price we wanted. After some time, it was done!!! Fantastic!! Everyone at this nursery is friendly, willing to help, answer questions, just a really nice atmosphere and group of people in the office!! Thank you, Debbie!! You worked so hard for us to get us what we wanted!! Thank you, Jason, for working and reworking those numbers for us!!! Outstanding from both of you and a great nursery you run Jason!! We stopped at MVN a few weeks ago and Cody asked if he could help. We were looking for a tree to replace one that had died in our back yard. We asked about available trees that would work here in Surprise and on the approved list for our community. He advised that he is one of the landscape designers at MVN and that the orchid tree is indeed on the approved list. He walked us through the available species and when we spotted an orchid tree that caught our eye. The size was out of our price range and he showed us some smaller trees that worked for us and our budget. The order was written up, Cody asked is my husband was a veteran and offered the discount available to us. A real plus, delivery was scheduled and we received a call advising they had a cancellation and it could be a week earlier. Super for us. We were asked to call 811 in advance to verify utility locations to be sure there were no issues. With a back yard location none were identified. The day before they called to confirm the delivery and time window. They arrived within the time frame and planted our new tree. We would like to give special thanks to Cody, Christine and Erik for their courteous and efficient assistance with our tree purchase, delivery and installation. read more

What an awful experience! Paid a lot more money than other comparable vendors because I felt Moon Nursery must be most reputable. What a mistake. Don't use them for irrigation. My initial plan was to use them to set up irrigation and then have them plant trees and plants. I'm so glad I did not prepay for the plants. Irrigation was as simple as adding sprinklers for grass watering. The hole thing started on April 1st and ended on April 26th and poorly done. From leaking valves to trying to scam me in telling me to buy a new Rainbird system which ended up simply being a push to get a bigger commission and not necessary. Cleaning up after the workers in my yard, not finishing the job and letting me stranded with no water at all for over a week. 7 days without water in Las Vegas equals dead plants. Spoke to supervisor Mike who is supposedly going on site with the crew. Well not so much. Calling him endless times to figure out where is the crew. Always dumbfounded that crew is not there, driver called off, driver quit, personal family issue with Mike. Always a story, always an excuse and always making you feel that you should be happy and feel lucky your system works at the end. They also make you pay in full in advance.
