I like Montgomery Motors. I have never purchased a bike here but I have looked around in the store. Love the bikes here. Victory and Indian are awesome. The sales people are very nice and relaxed. Motorcycle sales people are, just about, all laid back and relaxed. Nature of the beast I guess. They have a lot of gear here that is fun to look for. Not excessively marked up but marked up nonetheless. Better to look and try on here and buy online. I was excited to see that my old mechanic from Domenico's worked here as I trusted him very much when I had my FZ8 and he did fine work on it. I brought my Victory Cross Country in that I bought off of craigslist, for a service, safety check and tire change. All services were performed satisfactorily and with great service. My issue is the pricing. Some of this has to do with living in Hawaii (things are just more here). I understand that rent has to be paid, etc. But the markup on the tires I bought seemed VERY excessive. I paid $667 for Dunlop Elite 3's for front and back which I priced, shipped, at JP Cycle online for $434. That is marked up over 50%. Geez. Incentive to learn how to work on my own bike I guess. This issue extends not just to Montgomery Motors but to ALL mechanic shops for any type of vehicle. In the old days you paid mechanics to fix your vehicle. Now you have to pay them to determine what is wrong with your vehicle then you have to pay them to fix it. It's the state of the world we are living in I guess. read more

Great service, and price and product! Can't speak more highly of the guys at Montogomery, who have looked after me and my CBR600RR so well on 2 occasions in the last 2 months. As a female bike owner, some places aren't interested in my business or courteous in their service. Montogomery fit me in on a Saturday morning and for a reasonable price got me back on the road in no time! I did a 5 hour circle island ride that day just to make sure everything was working. Although we are living in difficult times these days I am very impressed with the service and professional demeanor of the Suzuki dealership dealership in Honolulu. Six months ago I purchased a Suzuki 750 brand new and recently I brought it in for the first full service at 600 miles. Its hard...living and loving someone who wants to live like baller, but is truly on a budget. Hubby recently bought a beautiful MV Agusta and wanted to have its tires changed. He called around to ALL the shops on the island and they were quoting almost twice the price of MPS! I was a bit skeptical, since I wondered if they would do a good job, or maybe their customer service was going to be bad? I was proven wrong! Location: Located off of Nimitz Highway, there is an entrance from both sides. Its also to the left of the new Lilihia bakery! Parking: Decent amount of parking that is never too full since the bikes park where the shop is at. Ambiance: Large, bright and organized. Service: Fast, informative and Friendly! The staff inside the store and the actual staff that worked on the bike were so great! We dropped the bike off and went to costco, and the bikes tires were changed in less than 3 hours! Once we came to pick it up they were very thorough and went over everything with my husband, they gave him great information and did not pressure him to get any other services/products he did not need. It was a very quick, easy and painless experience and we were very pleased with their customer service! If we have any servicing needs that cannot wait, we will definitely be back! read more

I've never gotten my bike worked on by them before but this review is for my phone experience for a quote with the service department. Also, they hardly ever answer. Had to keep calling multiple times in a week to get one answer. I had such a bad experience. A man with an accent was impolite. Tried to sound polite but you could tell he was annoyed and impatient. I asked for a quote on installing my tires bought from them, he gave me a slightly different price (higher price) from the parts department and then I asked if they worked on flushing brake fluids and how much it'd cost (again purchasing from them) He said they don't do brake pads. I said no, not brake pads, brake flush... He cut me off without letting me finish what I was going to say and loudly said "NOW HOLD ON A MINUTE!" Puts me on hold for almost 10 minutes and comes back like "OH, you're still here" I'm like yeah?" In my head thinking wth is that supposed to mean? You expected me to hang up? He talks to his colleague to ask if they worked on flushing brakes and gave me a price of $120 front and rear? Wtf to flush out my brake fluid? I can do it myself in 20 minutes for $5-7, but don't got extra hands to hold down the brakes for me. I'll give someone $20 to just help me hold down the brakes and I'll do all the other work myself. Shi** $120? I figured since I was getting my tires changed, may as well save myself time and kill two birds with one stone but You gotta be kidding me. For $120? It's a small R3. Went to a different shop and got a quote of $30-40. A price for a mityvac so I can do it myself every 2 years but I was in the process of moving and I was selling my bike to buy a car anyway. Though, the price for tires and service was about the same as other places. The parts department guys were my best experience so far. Super nice and friendly. read more

Went there today to check out some bikes for possible purchase. My salesperson was Chris, who seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and low pressure; which is nice. The Pros: Clean facility. Decent (personal) reviews from people I know who have been going there for years (both for sales and service). Friendly staff. Knowledgeable staff. The Cons: Location isn't the easiest to get to. You can't test ride the bikes (I think they allow it on a couple of models only). I asked, "What if I'm interested in getting a bike, but want to ride it first?" The answer? "Sorry, we don't allow that." That's a total bummer. I'd never buy a car like that, and after owning a few motorcycles, I'd never buy a bike that that, either. Lastly, poor Chris was all alone on the sales floor juggling 4 different customers. None of whom got his undivided attention. Although he was very professional about it, management needs to equip him additional people. read more

Came in to Montgomery with a rough bike (to put it lightly), an expectation (not entirely positive) and a dream. I read some reviews prior to taking my bike somewhere and Montgomery seemed the most reputable. Mixed reviews but you cant please everyone. Im a relatively new motorcycle owner and thought I needed one thing done, but the fellas at Montgomery took a look, gave me a call, and told me what I really needed done. At that point I wasnt sure if i was about to get wrecked with tons of unnecessary fixes and whatnot but when they got back to me, although there was a lot wrong with the bike, they kept it straight and let me know the essentials. Everybody was super helpful and really looking out for me. I know theres been some issues with others and customer service but honestly, customer service in Hawaii is hit or miss anyways. Either its the best service you've ever had or its the worst. My experience here was one of the best. These guys went out of their way to help me and get my bike going and i couldnt be happier with the experience I've gotten here. Since this original review, we have purchased another bike with Noah and ordered some goodies for our bikes. Now that we've had a chance to use the other services we can attest to the awesomeness. Kim and Dave are very knowledgeable and helpful when looking for accessories or parts. We had no problems there at all. Typical delivery time is a week to a week and a half. We will continue to order with them in the future and do recommend. We had both of our bikes in the service area and had nothing but good things to say. The work was performed in what we felt was a reasonable amount of time. I believe the men we spoke with were Adam and Ken (so sorry if that's wrong!). We are happy with the work and will be returning to have more done again. We did NOT have anyone try to sell us anything during any service appointment so I can't back up the previous reviewers statement about that. Parts took about a week to a week and a half to get it-which we feel is pretty standard for anything we get in the mail. All services were reasonable and done well. A+ customer service Every time I go here or call this company with questions about anything motorcycle related. They offer a free class, hosted by Mr. Montgomery himself, where you can ask as many questions about servicing your own bike as you can think of. They even take you down to the shop to let you pick the brain of one of their mechanics. The no pressure sales staff genuinely seem to want you to make the correct purchase for you, instead of trying to rope you into a purchase you might be unhappy with later. One day, I was there having a conversation with my insurance company while my bike was being serviced (got side swiped, removing my shifter and foot peg). I realized the battery on my phone was dying and one of the girls at the check out desk let me borrow hers. What a genuinely human thing to do! I went to Montgomery Powersports to get my front tire replaced and to do a safety inspection. Cycle City told me it would take three weeks for the next closest appointment. I called these guys, and they said to just stop in. I dropped off the bike, and less than an hour later they called saying it was ready for pickup, with everything complete. Quick and easy. Never again will I take my Harley to Cycle City, Montgomery Powersports was amazing service! read more

I purchased my '13 Victory Hammer 8-Ball from these guys back in October of 2013 and absolutely loved the store and staff. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable and I left with a smile. Fast forward a couple years, my starter goes out. I contacted the service department and was told that it was all still covered under my warranty and to bring it in. I dropped it off after doing the leg work to isolate it to the starter, was again told that it was covered by the warranty and went on my way. The next day I received a call and was notified that it was not actually covered by the warranty and would cost a couple hundred dollars to replace it. They offered to tow my bike back to my house since they had given me incorrect info (still charged me the service fee though). I got home the next day expecting to see my Hammer sitting in my garage, having been delivered while I was at work. The garage door opened, and sitting in my garage was a Victory Vegas 8-Ball... I called and told them about the mixup, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked to have the bike removed and my bike delivered. They apologized and assured me that it would be addressed ASAP. It took 9 days to get my bike back. I'm convinced the only reason I received it on the 9th day is because I called and informed them that I was putting this strange bike on the street and didn't care what happened to it. They showed up within hours... Fast forward another year, I put my bike down in the rain (those damn steel plates got me). Being the only Victory dealer/shop on the island, insurance insisted on taking it to them. Dropped it off and got it back 2 months after the fact (a month later than promised) incomplete. They replaced my handle bars and installed stock hand grips (I had installed custom grips). When I asked about it, the guy went to the back of the office and pulled my nice grips from random box and offered to have them installed. I naturally declined and did the work myself. They ordered the wrong parts for the rear brake bracket and never ordered the Victory ornament for the motor. I was told that the correct parts were on order and that I would receive a call for pickup soon. Months later I've transferred off island. Never received the correct replacement parts for my bike (despite calling and asking multiple times) and continue to find things they failed to replace from the wreck. The latest being my passenger peg mount being bent. Granted, I was busy and could have hassled them more about these issues, but I don't think I should have to. I'm now in Chicago and will be paying out of pocket to correct their incompetence. I'm paying for my stupidity in trusting them to do their jobs, and leaving this review in hopes that no one else makes the same mistake. I hope you guys read this, the retail side is awesome, your shop is a joke. Save yourself the headache and avoid these guys like the plague! read more

Bad customer service. I called to get some information on a part and also get a quote(service dept). I was told I would receive a call. By the end of the day I hadn't gotten one call. I called again and again because it kept just ringing and hanging up. After about four times I get to the parts department and they tell me I need to buy some Extra parts than what I originally needed. I called the main manufacturer (Polaris) and they told me otherwise and instead of 100 plus dollars it would be 18.99 plus shipping and handling. I get the trying to make some money but come on man that's a little ridiculous! read more

Unfortunately, I made a poor decision taking my bike to this dealership. All I asked for was a a dyno run, (I had changed air filter, headers, and mufflers), and was quoted $350. They said it would only take about an hour or so. So, while the bike was prepped, I walked over and had breakfast at Liliha Bakery. I come back and see my bike on a lift?! WTF? They said the dyno wasn't picking up the plug lead signal, (I had after-market leads on at the time), but the service manager assured me they has some stock ones and were about to make another run. Again, why was my bike up on a lift? Mind you, there was only about 4800 miles on it at the time. And since when do you have to put a bike on a lift to change plug leads?? The service manager stated that they inspect each bike prior to running it on the dyno. Okay.....but it was practically brand new. So, I settle into a chair on the showroom floor and pick up a magazine. About an hour goes by and I check on my bike and it's still on the lift! I asked for the service manager again and he tells me I need an oil change, because the oil is "dirty," (the oil had less than 3K miles on it at the time), and he doesn't want to take the risk running the bike hard on the dyno. I asked what it would cost, he stated "about a hundred bucks." Well, I just made mistake #2. More on the oil change later. I go back to the showroom, took a nap, and woke to the sound of my bike on the dyno. By now it's almost noon, and the tech was struggling with the tune as I heard a dead-spot at mid throttle and several backfires when the throttle was rolled off. Hmmmmm......"issues" with the bike and/or equipment, they said. "We'll have to do another run." Long story short, I didn't get out of there until 4 p.m., the bike ran about thirty degrees hotter, backfired, and that flat spot was still there. I complained. Was sent to see the owner. He gave me 10% off. Didn't even offer to fix it! When I test rode the bike, I found out the tech had repositioned the clutch and front brake levers, and re-indexed the shift lever! WTF! And the oil change? $30 bucks per quart for petro-based oil, (not synthetic), coupled with 1.2 hours of labor. I've heard of markups but that's just ridiculous. That was damn near a $300 dollar oil change! My bill totalled $680, and the bike ran so shitty, I downloaded a map that the tech support folks from Power Commander sent me. Montgomery Motorsports has lost me as a customer forever. I own four bikes, and will never go to them again. read more

We took the free maintenance class back January or February. Stafford (owner) led the class. He was awesome and too good to be true when it comes to customer service value. We ended up buying a tire for one of our bikes. Because it's a Ducati, the South Seas shop wanted to charge an extra premium. Stafford's quote that I remember goes something along the lines of "as a business we should not punish riders on the cost of a basic safety necessity of a tire. Always have a great time here. Kim, Greg, Dave and a few others are my go-to guys. Always answer the phone right away and know what they're talking about. Being a small 20 something year old girl on a Yamaha can be intimidating walking into a shop full of Harley riders, but these guys make me feel at home. I bought a battery from them, they charged it up in-shop and installed it so I didn't have to ride home with it in my backpack- so cool. Montgomery also does a great job keeping the shop and showroom super clean. I usually only come here for parts... not maintenance (generally do my own work on bike) but would definitely trust them with it aloha read more

I went in as a walk in on Saturday, as the previous Saturday was too busy, I wasn't let down, they took my bike and I took a walk, they called me back about additional service they thought I needed to be safe,,, they had it all ready by the time I got back, they were straight up with the service recommended and the charges, If this keeps up , looks like I found a new home for servicing,, It would be good if HD would grant them a dealership or at least a service center license read more

So the saga continues at MPS service department. I got my bike back with all the new parts installed and looking great. I had the stock wind screen replaced since it was damaged in the accident, so I swung by to pick it up. Prior to my accident, I also had the stock handle bars replaced with a different one. I told Iniki that I'd be back to pick it up later. He stated it would be cool. Fast forward to today while picking up my damaged windscreen, I told Ryan that I also wanted to pick up the stock handle bars. To my shock, Ryan tells me they threw it away. He says I only had 72 hours to pick up my part(s) or they throw it away. Now that is straight up bullshit!! He said it to me with a straight face. There is no way that they threw away a brand spankin' new handle bar into the trash! For starters, I told Iniki that I'd be back to pick it up and secondly, no one told me I only had 72 hours to do so or else its thrown away. Wouldn't a caring employee call the customer to remind them that he/she still has a part to be picked up? I asked Ryan if he can verify that it was thrown away and he couldn't even look at me. These parts can easily be sold on eBay, local swap meet, Facebook, bartered but never thrown away. No fricken way! So I flag Noah down and ran him through what I just went through and he stepped up to the plate and looked into the issue for me. He comes out of the service department and what do you know, they just happened to have the exact same handle bar somewhere in the service department. How ironic and convenient. Now, I'm not blaming Noah because he's the only one there that has integrity and honesty, but the cast of characters there at the MPS service department are a shady bunch of dudes who will take advantage of unsuspecting customers for their personal gain. Avoid the guy Ryan at all costs. He can lie to you with a straight face. Terrible customer service from that guy. I still cringe for my future because I purchased the extended service warranty for my bike and will have to have these same people work on my bike. I have no idea what that experience will be like. When I upgraded from my moped to my scooter, Montgomery Power sports came highly recommended to do my safety inspection. I naturally took their advice. If they had any idea how rude, unfriendly and pompous the punk at the service counter is, I'm sure they would reconsider recommending them. I was ignored when I walked in, not even so much as a "we will be right with you". I had to wait for them to finish socializing before they even said hello. Even after he decided to assist me, his whole demeanor was nasty. However, another guest walked in, a man, and he was addresses right away with a totally different attitude. I work for the Porsche dealership in customer service. I'm very friendly, energetic and always smiling. There was no reason for me to be treated this way. Maybe he doesn't like women, maybe he didn't like that I had my Porsche uniform on, maybe I look like his ex, I don't know but it's unacceptable. I now know why their reviews are not so good. Everyone else there was friendly and helpful. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch. When I upgrade my scooter to an Indiana, guess where I won't be going. I just got back to work after spending my whole hour lunch there and realized they never gave me the safety sticker. I had to call them to find out I was failed for registration. As nearly the only game in town, we always go here for service, parts and accessories, even though it's all the way in town. The last time, after dropping $1000 on some MINOR repairs that took them an extra week to do, they gave me the bike with no gas. I got a half mile down Nimitz at 5:30 PM and ran out of gas. I had to push the bike another quarter mile on an extremely busy road to Lex Brodie's. The guy there was gracious enough to give me some gas. So annoyed with MPS. I'll be looking for somewhere else to take my bikes. read more

I'm highly unpressed at the lack of professionalism and general uncaring about their customers by the service department advisors. Openly talking bad about their service manager was just the beginning. Then I was there for a 15 minute safety check, but then that somehow turned into having to wait 2 hours. Then when my bike was done, the call me up to pay, but when I looked at my safety check, they had failed it for something simple that would of taken them 5 min or less to fix. Then they would tell me the inspector had left for the day so I would have to start the whole process over on another day. Extremely poor attitude and customer service. I will not be going back, and I would think long and hard before doing business with their service section. I will say I have used their parts department before on multiple occasions and they are professional and easy to work with. Best customer service my butt! This place has great bikes but customer service sucks hands down! They rarely return your calls. The manager used to be someone I trusted. They had my bike for over three months only to tell me they couldn't fix it because the engine was fried. So I had them drop off my bike at tiki cycles.they dropped off a rolling chassis with six boxes of parts. During inspection of parts the truth came out. it's obvious whoever was working on my bike didn't want to do the job so he claimed it needed a total rebuild. Well it doesn't at all and if anyone doesn't believe me come down to to tiki cycles and I'll show you the parts they claimed were so fried they had to do an entire rebuild. Bull!!! They didn't even drop off my battery even after making calls and leaving messages. Great bikes! Terrible service! read more

Stafford the owner personally assisted us as well as Travis. This time I brought my own bike, same experience again. Against my better judgment, I bought and had Montgomery Power Sports install some Vance and Hines pipes on my 2014 Road King. 1 year later, my pipes were FALLING OFF my bike, after only 800 miles.. Not only did I have them install my pipes, I had them do my annual safety inspection for the state of Hawaii, twice. With this said, on my way home from the store, I noticed a loud hissing and rattling noise, I soon realized that my PIPES WERE FALLING OFF. So I called them, and they stated since it was 12 months since they installed them, it wasn't there problem and Harleys are known for rattling. agreed, but I have owned Harleys for over 15 years and always had custom pipes, installed by Harley Dealers, and I NEVER HAD MY PIPES FALL OFF! thanks for the lack of support and doing the job right. I should have known. When I went to have the pipes initially installed, the "certified Harley mechanic" was staring at my bike for like 10 mins. So he finally came to me and asked me how the stock saddle bags came off so he could install the pipes. I should have known then, they HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOIGN WITH HARELYS. Great way to treat active duty service members. I guess they figured we have loads of cash to keep giving them to do the same job over and over again. I was on the hunt for a jacket, gloves and a disc lock and Montgomery was the fourth place I visited. Staff was super friendly, prices decent (they have a half off rack!) and a not bad variety. I was especially happy with how many women's jackets they had in stock, literally no one else had anything to offer. The people who helped me with my lock and alarm were super knowledgable and didn't make me feel pressured at all, which I always appreciate. I will definitely come back in the future! read more

I got ripped off last Saturday, I had to do a safety check, since the bike was bought last year at Montgomery and only has 461 miles, I might as well do my first service oil change. After one hour, I got my invoice and was on my way to cashier and pay, but when I look at the $ 340 bill, I almost fainted. It was more expensive than my new car's first service at my dealer. Seriously look at the description, they charged me one and half hour of labor, each hour is about $ 175, and they charged 4 quarts of 15W50 each at $ 12.99. Is my Suzuki 200 takes 4 quarts of oil same as my car? After I confront with the service, they took off the $ 260 labor, but I must pay for the parts $ 78.93. This company is not honest and over charged labor and part. They open at 9 and after all the confrontation and went to pay my bill, on my receipt is 10:10 am read more

Went there for a Safety Check after filing out the form the guy tells me that my bike doesn't pass because my turn signals are not 3" My stock oem turn signals on my Kawasaki are 2.5"! Sure these were not oem on my klr but they were not flush mounts either. Laters with these guys! read more
