This shop quality of work has changed for the worse. They screwed up two things on my bike. One I fixed myself. The other, I had to take the bike to Cycle City to get it fixed. Needed to repair the headlight and fuel modulator for my bike. The whole entire staff is A1, which is hard to find now days. Friendly, helpful, professional, and fair pricing. These guys could have ripped me off twice and never did. Please tell me, HOW IN THE HELL, did a couple broken studs turn into me paying $436.21 when my parts alone cost $43.76. If you're looking to get ripped off look no further then white knuckle speed shop. So my story begins with me calling yesterday 03/24 @1pm, left a voicemail and waited for a call back. About 30-40mins later I got a call back from a super nice guy, pretty sure his name was Jay. Anyway I told him that I was having trouble tightening my exhaust back onto my bike and believe you me I tried just about everything except pulling out a welder. So he told me that the earliest they had for an appointment was April 8th, which wouldn't have worked because I am selling the bike to a buddy on the 1st. He then told me to just come on down to the shop and they could take a look at it because from the explanation that I gave them it seemed like a simple job. Take probably just an hour to do. So I get to the shop, I'm greeted by a couple guys asking me how's it going and what I was coming in for and one of the gentleman told me to just hang tight and that they were gonna check me in and then come back down and get me so that I could give them the keys. YEAH OKAY 45mins go by and I'm starting ti get the feeling that they just didn't give a damn about me, so I preceded to look for help and this dude who was working on a bike asked how he could help me so I informed him that I had been waiting 45 mins and not a single person has come and grabbed me to get my bike keys. He insisted that I go upstairs and talk to the guys up there because they could help me out. So I did exactly what he said went up there and literally had to remind the guys yo there that I was still here and waiting for them. So I'm pretty sure it was Jay who basically helped me out, I don't even know if that's his name, all I remember is the dude was really awesome and seriously wanted to help me. I asked him how much a job like this was gonna be and he said that there's no definitive answer on that but ballpark was between $120-$1,000. I asked him if he could please give me a call if the price would be more then $120 and he said that he would 100% call me. So he made me feel like I could trust him and I did. He said it should be an hour job tops because all they'd have to do is take the broken stud out of the block and put a new one in. I'm thinking to myself great I need to get this done for my buddy so I'm glad that I have the professionals taking care of it. Ended up leaving the shop on 03/24 @5pm and waited till today 03/25 @1300 to receive a call back. Got the call back and the gentleman on the phone was Ben. Great guy said he took care of my bike and that I could come pick it up today but if I didn't they'd start charging me $20 a day until I picked it up, WHICH WAS NOT EXPLAINED TO ME WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE BIKE TO GET IT FIXED. So I drove down there @5pm got there @530pm and upon my arrival the guys that were sitting outside looked generally confused as to why I was there in the first place so I told them and the same gentleman that told me the day before to head up to the office after I had been waiting for 45mins told me again to head up there and they'd cash me out. So I got up there and this dude Henry was working the counter, I told him I was there to pick up my sporty he then cashed me out and this is the part I do not understand. How the hell did my $120 job turn into a $436 job?!?! I asked Henry why it was so expensive and he said that he had no clue because he didn't work on the bike. I asked to speak to the guy that did so that he can explain to me why I wasn't called when the price went past $120 because I was specifically told by Jay that I would get a call if the job became more than $120. That's not even the worst part, they took off my freaking fuel pack and said that they don't recommend that I have one on the bike if it's not tuned. WHO THE HELL SAID YOU CAN TAKE MY FUEL PACK OFF?! I DID NOT CONSENT TO THAT. Anyway I paid the man because I feared that if I didn't, I'd have to be forced to pay that additional $20 a day for letting it sit there. I came out and asked the same guy that told me to go upstairs why I just paid so much, why they took off my fuel pack, and why my check engine light was still on and he literally told me that he had no clue because he didn't work on my bike. AND THIS IS SUPPOSED FO BE A REPUTABLE BUSINESS???!! AS IF. So now I sit here, out $436, check engine light is still on, fuel pack taken off, in complete disbelief that such a "reputable" business, just fu**** me over. So to sum it up if you're looking to get work done on your bike, pay a ridiculous amount of money, not get any answers at all about what happened, then look no further because White Knuckle Speed Shop offers all of the above. read more

I'm reviewing my experience with my handlebars job they did and white knuckle speed shop. Ben looked what I needed for the job gave me a quote very reasonable quote for a job the dealer would rob me blind if I went there. Jay ordered the parts on what I need made it cheaper then what I was gonna go for a set but he told me it's more cheaper to buy what we needed instead of paying for a set for stuff I don't need (btw if you didn't come recently they have a parts department office away from the shop) Seth worked on my bike showed me what cycle city didn't not do in my 1k service and what they did to one of my bolts and not tell me... I will forever as long as I have my Harley come to white knuckle for parts, service, even see there guard dog/mascot koko. In April 2019 I purchased a 2001 CVO Road Glide with a Hannigan custom-painted-to-match sidecar. Cool rig no doubt, but time had not done it justice even though it was relatively low miles. It was in need of some love. I rolled in to let Ben take a look at it. (I had been riding it for a about three weeks) And the first thing he said was How long have you been riding it with the rear tire like THAT? Seeing as I had just checked air pressure a couple of days before I asked like what? Apparently the rather old Metzler ME880 had decided to begin shredding chunks of rubber tread somewhere between home and work... and I'm not exactly a slow rider... Thank goodness for three wheels! My plan was to install a set of Progressive monotubes up front, and a set of progressive ultra touring "Super duty" Shocks for the rear (given the weight of my svelte physique plus the weight of the sidecar) since the original air over oil shocks were pretty soft and squishy. I needed a good starting point on the bike suspension prior to re-setting the sidecar. Ben said he would order new front and rear tires and would have them in a week or so... Thank goodness for having more than one bike! About 10 days later Ben called and said your stuff is here.... I said OK, all the other stuff is here too... so we scheduled a date and I rolled in. The bad thing about a sidecar is they take up a LOT of space in a bike shop. so in most cases whatever work needs to be done better be done the same day. The work was done quickly and timely... and expertly. The bike rides like a dream now. I've adjusted the sidecar to the new ride height and it is so much nicer now. I've got my service appointment scheduled this week for some regular oil change and loving... she finally has over 10k... not bad for a bike that makes 18 years old this year. My brother died recently and his family wanted me to take his ashes for his last ride to the graveyard. My bike wasn't running so I went to White Knuckle to see about getting my bike running. I told them I needed it fixed asap. Despite never going there before they said to bring it down and they would fix it right away. they fixed it in 3 days and I was able to take his ashes to the graveyard today! This comment is an informative one for y'all and a moment for me to extend appreciation to the ONLY bike shop in O'ahu that was willing to take on the project of repairing my Can-Am Spyder with NO HESITATION OR FEAR ‍ For those who don't know, owning a Spyder in Hawai'i is not easy, seeing that there's no BRP/Can-Am dealers here; as a result, every single bike shop is terrified to touch them because they pose a liability threat. I've had mine for almost 5 years and have done most maintenance and repairs myself, but recently it began burning oil and thick clouds of smoke came out the exhaust every time I rode. I called around and FINALLY the one shop that was interested in taking it on was White Knuckle Speed Shop. I made their job as easy as I possibly could by providing them a digital copy of the full shop manual and all the parts they said I needed for the repair (all ordered online). The main Technician, Ben, is a GODSEND! Took pictures and recorded some videos during the repair and he legit talked to my bike as if it were his own loved one! Overall, this man took care of a major top end engine rebuild within 2 months time. This is someone who is young and has a vast range of repair experience in general, but has never worked on a Can-Am IN HIS LIFE. Nevertheless, he was happy he could add that to his resumé. He wanted me to spread the word that whoever has a Can-Am Spyder that needs work (or any other bike in general), he'll be happy to take it on!!! THIS IS A BIG DEAL IN HAWAI'I because if any of y'all are interested in buying one, you now have a reliable shop to take it to!!! And if you have the same model or generation build as mine, I'll be happy to give you a free digital copy of the shop manual (I also have the BUDS software used to diagnose any technical issues or faults that may occur). This is a small family owned shop with entire lifetimes worth of experience. Quality work and craftsmanship 100%! My bike died in the parking lot of Safeway on my first ride since taking it to the H-D dealership to have the carb worked on. It cranked but wouldn't start and flooded on the first attempt to start. Thanks, Cycle City, you're my next One Star rating! So, there I am. Standing on the sidewalk, staring at my dead Hog. Totally bummed out that I can't ride (I was heading out for a light fixture, but planned on taking "the long way"). More than bummed out that I just paid BIG bucks for a repair that didn't happen. Not the first time I'd been charged for work not done at CC either. Then some dude, Jezze, walks up and we start talking bikes, he rides too. Then he tells me about these guys in Waipahu that are mechanical geniuses, White Knuckle Speed Shop. He starts telling me what a great job they've done on his bike, as well as his wife's H-D. So he gives me their number, and I give 'em a call. I talk to them and they tell me that Chase (the owner) will be right over to pick up my hog. Sure enough, a truck pulls up, Chase hops out, and loads up my bike. I tell him what was going on and he said he'd get it up and running for me. He even dropped me off at home. Two days later, I get the call from Chase about the bike - it's fixed. He cleaned the carb, tweaked the jets, cleaned the plugs, replaced clogged filters and lines, and swapped out the old fuel system for a new system that is better for my engine. He threw in a lot of other extras, like new rubber for my risers, and they engineered a gasket to keep my air filter cover from vibrating. The cost was 40% cheaper than the NON-repair from Cycle City, and the bike runs like a swiss watch now. It's just like a new bike. Give these guys a call if you're having trouble with your ride and the local Harley Stealership. Chase and the guys at White Knuckle know their stuff about bikes and they are very "attention to detail" on their repairs. White Knuckle Speed Shop and The Hog Pen, two shops joined together in one location with Chase D. and Larry S. At the helms respectively. Working together, these two and the rest of the crew have taken care of my various motorcycles for years. About a decade and a half ago, a bunch friends convinced Larry to wrench on our bikes because he did his own maintenance and always had the best running bike around. We were never disappointed with his meticulous work and not just because wrenching runs in his family blood but he's a straight up guy and as I read in another review, a little OCD in a good way. Thus The Hog Pen was born. Who better for Larry to partner with then Chase. Talk about gas and oil in his blood, his Dad, brother Ben and Chase helped me build my chopper when his Dad had a shop in Kailua. His knowledge and experience have helped me get my 07' deluxe back on the road with the piece of mind needed to run a bike as a daily mode of transportation. This is a small and by appointment only shop. They only work on Harley Davidson's. the customer service and interaction I got from the owner was awesome and friendly. Everything I asked to be done was done better than I I could imagine. The owner even came by and picked up my bike which I thought was freaking AWESOME. Had an oil leak and my shocks were messed up. Turns out my bike had the wrong shocks and the oil leak was from previous owner accident. Bike now runs smooth, feels great and looks amazing (in my opinion). I will highly recommend this shop for service involving anything in relation to the engine and or oils. They are not a parts store if your looking to get parts. They do powder coating, not sure on the price though. My bike has black powder coated handlebars done at their shop and they look great. They will have my business again. Did I mention he dropped the bike at my house too because I couldn't pick it up due to my wife and I having a busy work schedule, ok, I just did. Chase provides the type of service that should be provided by anyone customer facing. He is always busy, but he can always find some time to explain what is happening with your bike. Whether it's making a funny noise, not running smoothly, or you just need your oils changed, Chase will do it all, but mostly only Harleys!! Because he is so busy, he may not get your bike done as fast as you want, but let's face, it any down time with your bike just plain sucks! Your bike will go in to his shop, and it will come out way better. He should have a PhD in motorcycle care! He can identify a lot of issues before he even digs into it. He is very knowledgeable and is usually pretty willing to share his knowledge if you care to listen. Amazing service here at White Knuckle/ Hog Pen. Great service, extremely fast, and a great price. My bike broke down while I was on the freeway so I was stranded on the side of the road unable to get my bike to start. I called the shop to see if they could tow my bike in and fix it. Larry wanted to make sure it wasn't a small problem that I could fix on the road, so he explained to me over the phone various areas to check. I was very appreciative he was willing to take the time to walk me through everything. I towed it to the shop and they explained they were very busy so wouldn't be able to look at my bike right away, this was Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend. About an hour later Chase called to inform me my bike was ready to be picked up. I was amazed it was ready because I didn't think I would get it until the next week. At the shop, Larry and Chase explained there were a ton of small problems but nothing major. I built the bike myself in my garage with no prior experience. They said all the small issues I had, 18 code errors and a dozen other problems, caused my bike to not run. They told me they moved me to the front of the line and fixed all the small issues on my bike so that I could get back on the road and not have to wait until their other large projects were done. Overall, amazing customer service at the Hog Pen/ White Knuckle. I like to think I can fix things myself in my garage, but anytime it too advanced for me I will definitely be coming back to White Knuckle/ Hog Pen. read more
