A group of friends and me after seeing a movie decided to give Montana's a try as few of us had ever been there. They were very busy and we in order to get all seven of us chose the patio. We were told that due to the new Golden Ears Bridge they were much busier than usual and perhaps the kitchen was no longer capable of keeping up. Yet the mistakes kept piling up one after the other. First a wrong side order and then the wrong main dish. Next up was an incorrect appetizer to which we were promised a replacement that only came when we were ready to leave. They did not seem all to apologetic and had more of an attitude that "well that's just how it goes". Anyway, fresh off the worst experience ever at East Side Mario's, Montana's was pretty good by comparison. We went there for lunch so the place wasn't too busy or too noisy. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable-ish. I say ish because I asked him which was the better soup and he said "Chicken Noodle?" As a question. I ordered the minestrone. It was from a can. I had the Lunch Trio, which is soup, salad and 1/2 a sammy. My turkey club was decent, soup was lackluster and caesar salad was pretty good. Real type bacon product sprinkled on top and shaved parm cheese. The hubs had the pulled chicken wrap and found a 3" chicken bone in the second half. It killed his appetite. Gross. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. It helps to go early on a Monday evening I guess. Our waitress was so nice and friendly and most importantly attentive! I had some new items on their menu. Came for lunch with the hubby,we were only the third table in the place when we were seated just before noon. It took over 20 min for the food to arrive.. This is where things go way down hill... Hubby's bison burger and fries looked like a kiddies portion,, for $17- put some food on the plate!!! And remember to put the bacon you charging extra for on the burger,,, then,, while you at it some beef in the pot roast soup wouldn't go a miss!! The broth and veggies were tasty but there was no meat in the bowl. Now the piece de resistance,, when the server was flagged down and told the burger had no bacon, she did apologize, whisked the plate away and returned a few minutes later with a cheery " we found some bacon, enjoy" and put the plate with the now cold fries and the partially eaten burger with bacon sticking out from under the bun,,,, ewwwww who handled that? I have always enjoyed my food at Montana's. I wish there was one closer to where I live. Today was the same experience as always as our food was served quick and hot and the service was also great. I would give it more stars, however I don't find this location keeps their restaurant very clean. This is the only Montana's I go to and usually go every 2 months and it always seems dirty. It starts before you walk in with the overflowing garbage can. Then the front hostess area smells like urine, followed by very dirty bathrooms. Today I went about an hour after they opened so there is no excuse. It only makes me question what the kitchen area looks like. I will be back because of my first comments, however, I hope that Montana's will read this and take care of these issues before my next visit as that one may be my last. read more

My wife and I got a gift card from some friends for Christmas (one of the ones you can use at multiple restaurants) and decided we wanted to try Montana's as we had never gone to one before. We got there around lunch time, and it was quite quiet. We were seated promptly, and were brought our drinks. We then decided to order an appetizer. Our appetizer was good, though over priced. Then came the time to order our main course. My wife and I had settled on steaks, and as we ordered the waitress said "Oh I forgot to tell you, we're actually out of steak"... What the heck kind of steakhouse doesn't have steak?!?! Had we not already ordered an appetizer, we would have up and left right there... Also, don't tell me you "forgot" to tell us. We ended up getting burgers... Which was apparently "an amazing burger" according to the waitress, but was actually a below average burger. All in all, save your time and hard earned money, and don't go here. read more

Went here last night before going to the movies with my friends. The service was good, quick and efficient. The service it what made it a 3 star for me, otherwise it was close to a 2 star. The food wasn't too bad. The chicken was a little dry in my Quesadilla but the guacamole was to die for. I guess I am used to quality "Mexican" food. Actually they are better at Taco Del Mar. Now I realize it's a cookhouse but the menu lacked significantly. What looked like it could be good was so high priced that I wasn't going to order them, especially when I am going to the movies which is already highway robbery on a good day. Even though it had THEIR location listed as redeemable in, she told us to go back to that location. We HAD been customers for years, NEVER again! This is our standby restaurant - we love the firecracker shrimp SO good! We get them every time we go. I had the pot roast - holy heck.....it was delish! The pot roast was perfectly cooked, so tender and really flavorful. The gravy was nice and dark and very good. I don't know if i'll be able to order anything else from there now! I've had their burgers in the past and they are just ok. My step-son always orders the pulled pork and he loves it. Cant get him to order anything else either! We always get very attentive servers. Bringing refills of our drinks before they are even done ..I like that kind of attention to detail. Now I'm thinking of pot roast again....sigh.....I'm a fan! read more

A fan of this place in my college years, but now, I simply can't keep up with smoked barbeque baby back ribs like I used to when I was younger. Although, my tastes have changed, I still do know what decent ribs should taste like. The ribs came out about quite overcooked and slightly blackened. All this while waiting about 15-20 minutes longer than I would have expected for ribs and on a semi-slow night. If I weren't in a rush, the kitchen may have had a callback to redo some ribs, but I just couldn't wait any longer. I love this restaurant. We've been here maybe 5-6 times, and every single time it's been incredible. We tried the all you can eat ribs last visit, and I could barely muster enough gut to finish one rack. It's certainly not for the faint of heart. In fact for the average Joe, it's probably a better idea just to pay $1 less, get one rack, and call it a night. That's usually enough for any human being - unless you're with a super-human eater; that's really the only time I can think of when the all you can eat would be worth the price. The rest of the menu is great, your typical western-style pub food. Portions are decent except for a sandwich I tried one time. I don't remember what it was, but it was pretty tiny for what it cost. I found the service here was very good, lots of checking in on us to see how we were doing. We had to wait for seats but is was a Saturday night. We ordered two types of steaks and antojitos stuffed burger. The food was descent but every piece of meat was charred black including the burger patty on one side. I was surprisingly disappointed tonight with the caliber of the nacho platter that was delivered to our table. The cheese was burned...what very little of it there was, and the beef had very little flavor. The nachos themselves were either completely soggy from the sub par "ground beef" or entirely too crisp-most likely related to the burned cheese on them. I just went to Montana' s Langley location was the worst experience, first we ordered their special lemonade drink it tasted like a soda with no alcohol then we ordered the rib and chicken combo what a disappointment the ribs were dry must have been from a day or two ago because its hard to get baby back ribs so dry, likely from sitting under a heat lamp for a while and also they advertised corn bread but gave us garlic bread without informing us but after complaining, their explanation was claiming supplier issues. Then the garlic mash I got was dry with potato skin in it and the exterior was dry like days old potato sitting around, They asked if we wanted gravy then charged us for that without informing us. Ok I def won't be back to that location. Server was good but slow. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which I've had before, I couldn't figure out why it didn't taste right and brush it off as me being sick. I decided to dissect the sandwich and it was 70% fat. There was supposed to be coleslaw on it and there was a big chunk of core and not really any coleslaw. I decided to send it back and the second one was better but still too fatty....The manager said well that is a fatty meat LOL. Like I said I've had the sandwich several times and never was it that bad. I remember trying Montana's for the first time 2 years ago. It wasn't that good but I was in the area today and thought I would give it one more shot. Still not good at all maybe even worse. Disgusting, cold food doesn't seem fresh at all. McDonald's is better. This place has the best chicken wings I've ever had my entire life. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance. Wait staff was knowledgeable. Menu was marked with gluten "free" items. But was prepared with extra care to prevent cross contamination. Even my drink was made special and they made the staff wash hands first. My steak was pan fried. And then someone accidentally put it on the grill. Decided to go to the Langley Montana's for our anniversary. Overall the experience was not very good. Our appetizers were pretty good but my steak was definitely not very good. The worst part was that we were sat at a table directly under the taxidermy that is hung on the wall. I happened to look up and noticed the amount of dust that was on the taxidermy, it was a lot. This then made me look at the wooden doors that are high up on the wall and they were even worse. The layer of dust on the wooden doors made it look like there was a layer of carpet on them. I just wonder how long it's been since they were cleaned. Kinda made me not want to eat. How much of that dust falls onto customers table? Won't be going back to that location any time so read more

We are currently here at Montana's Allow me to make a list of things that have happened during our meal today....first off our appetizer antiojitos were doughy and undercooked. Granted our waitress Katelyn was kind enough to provide us with a different appie. For our main courses, the servers did not know which ribs had which sauces...so the gentleman actually came very close and was breathing on the ribs to "see" which had which sauce, this method was a failure because he still gave us the wrong ones. Then when we got that sorted out my sister had the wrong sides! She ordered corn and mashed potatoes and they gave her baked potatoes and beans ....NOT EVEN CLOSE TO CORN! Were we suppose to mash the potatoes ourselves? So we had to wait for the correct entrees as well. My moms salad also had no dressing....despite her asking for thousand island. Mine was fine, except they had forgotten my plum sauce. But then again how do you screw up chicken strips and fries. With all the complications, the manager NEVER came to our table to apologize! Yet he was able to run food to the table around us....I found this extremely unprofessional! I could tell my waitress was ashamed and embarrassed as well! In the end we had our appetizer paid for and 20% off our bill....but I personally think the manager should have had the decency to come over and personally apologize! I will never come here again!!! The only pro, was our waitress Katelyn, she is amazing and such a sweetheart! If you decide to take the risk and eat here then get her as your server! Well. I was thinking that this place doesnt deserve my time in writing a review , but then I remembered there might be someone out there who I can save from yet another horrific over priced meal. A business colleague suggested Montana's for a quick lunch and a meeting. Went in at 3pm on a Tuesday , the place is empty. That right there should tell you something ? Anyway the service was good and the place was clean. However , the food was just pathetic especially for the price. Buddy had chili and a Caesar salad , both looked like they were canned (canned salad ? I know I never thought I would see such a thing till Montana's today). I had the pulled pork flat bread $9.99. Heh. Wow. I guess it looked ok in the pictures , I was expecting something like the flat bread you get at Boston pizza . you know , actually good? This thing was a pile of slop really , and it had some kind of sour cream or Kraft salad dressing or something on it that was just horrific . I couldn't even really eat the whole thing , only ate about half just to make it look like i was eating at a business lunch. I didnt complain in front of a client either , I just won't be returning . I don't have any idea how a place like this stays in business . Are there actually people who like this ? My family ate at Montana's on 14 Nov 2017. Montana's 20100 Langley Bypass, Langley, BC. V3A 9J7. I ordered a glass of wine with my meal. They came back and told me that it wasn't available. I ordered another glass of wine to replace the original glass. My waitress was Lacey - her service was very good and made the disappointing showing of food look good.When my bill came I paid it. (Yes, I made a mistake and didn't review it). On the way home I started to think about the cost of the dinner and when I got home looked at bill and seen that they had charged me for both glasses of wine. I called next day, and the original person I spoke to apologized and looked up the bill and admitted they made a mistake . I spoke to Stephanie. No manager was on site, so she said she would have her call me. I waited that day, the next and I called again and finally got someone who said they would reimburse me the cost of my wine. . They said they couldn't put it back on my credit card but would send me payment. (I couldn't understand that policy) But, I agreed. NEXT week - I received a letter from Montana's with a 5 dollar bill in it and a large hole in the envelope which I can only assume was change the rest of the $7.50 drink - that is not including taxes or liquor tax. I have called the store a number of times and NO RESPONSE. A manager doesn't return calls or in always in meetings or not in the store. Courtney - Manager - THIS IS TERRIBLE. I've had great experiences with Montana's as a family restaurant and typically I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any family for a hearty meal. Unfortunately in two trips to this location it's swaying my confidence in the brand. From paying an extra $4 for what amounts to barely more than a spoonful of pulled pork on top of my nachos, to said nachos being soft and rubbery, having to wait 15 minutes for a glass of milk for my son and then being told they had no milk, to then waiting almost 20 minutes (and counting) for the bill to come after eating. I had a bad steak over a year ago, about a month later I went back,( everyone has a bad day once in a while) ordered the steak medium rare it was very well done, the apologized and it would take 30 min to get a new one, I decided not to go back. The other day my niece come for a visit and she wanted to go to Montanas she had heard good things about it. so we went, I ordered the steak,, it came back very well done, (what was I thinking), The staff was very nice the service was good but the food is at best, ok, For what they charge it should be great. read more

I've visited Montana's a number of times over the past year and a half while travelling through Langley. Over that time, this restaurant has steadily improved both its quality of food and service. Love the rustic country decor - it's just like a big ol' cozy log cabin up in the Cariboo! Plus the food has always been amazing. The portions are HUGE. Loved the chili, salad and cornbread combo. The Apple Pecan Salad was delicious too. But my favourite go-to comfort dish of all time is the mac & cheese with added chorizo sausage. Just like mom used to make - only better. Sorry mom. But mostly, I keep on returning because of the Langley Montana's crew. Friendly, professional and down-to-earth excellent service - consistent every time.
