Finally had a chance to try this location after driving by it for decades. This location is one of oldest ones in town. Parking is plentiful in the lumpy lot behind the building. There are also several spots for their car hop service. The inside is somewhat modern. Theme is consistent with the other locations. The dining area is L shaped, so there is a back section where the staff can't really see the customers. There is also an outdoor N facing patio. Staff are friendly, but they are a bit short staffed. Had to flag them down multiple times. I was told to try the cheesesteak hash. This thing is pretty solid I must say. 2 poached eggs with a pile of stir fried stuff (much like the inside of a burrito). Served with 4 pieces of bread. This thing sure hit the spot (no pun intended). Definitely a good place to take people from out of town for a nice casual authentic BC experience. read more

This is a very modern establishment with helpful and efficient service. Prices are very reasonable and we thought the food was quite good. My dining partner, and I shared a chicken Caesar wrap and chose poutine as the side to go with it. The lemony flavor of the chicken in the wrap was delightful, and the dish overall was quite good. The poutine was a very generous portion and tasty as well. My dining partner had a brownie batter shake, less the caramel sauce that normally comes with it, and she enjoyed it very much. They serve this like the old-fashioned shakes, where you get the remainder of the shake that's in the metal shake container, so it felt rather nostalgic. Stopped by for a Monty mushroom burger with my mom and brother. It's a nostalgic spot but service was really slow... took 15 minutes to flag down our server to order. We ordered hot wings and zoo sticks to share, and I got the mushroom burger with fries. Hot wings were saucy and zoo sticks were delicious and crispy. Burger was good as well. Filling meal, but took forever to flag our server down for the bill. Oh, the non alcoholic bottomless drinks were pretty good for $5 as well! Today was another delicious visit to White Spot Gilmore !!! The service offered by Melina the manager and our lovely waitress Afsha was remarkable impecable . They treated us, party of 3, nicely and with courtesy. The culinary is so delicious, and we could not wait to take some pictures.... It was our first time here for lunch at the 'test kitchen' & what a tasty experience! In addition to their regular White Spot favourites, they offer a good selection of 'test kitchen' items. We ordered the steelhead burger wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. Nice portion of fish & cooked to perfection! I tried their newer salad - celery and carrot ribbons with greens, cashews, edamame with sherry vinaigrette. The other order was the classic mushroom burger which was also delish. (Both dishes rate 5/5). Our server Meghan was excellent (5/5). Often checking on us and even gave us a sample of the Gochujang sauce to try. Ambiance rates 5/5 - nice décor. Prices were on par with other places. They're located on one side of the food court located in Brentwood Mall. We were told that every few months, the kitchen will add some new items. There were several tables available and all three parties were seated right away. Server was friendly. Attentive. I was there for the Avocado Impossible burger, but they were out of avocado. I ordered the Monty Mushroom burger w/ Spot salad. My date had a Bacon Better Burger with fries and a coke. The burgers were good. The meat was slightly pink in the middle. A New Experience: Car Hop Service This my FIRST time trying out the White Spot Car Hop Service. I wanted to try the car hop service just because for my experience and to let my fellow yelpers know my experience. The dine-in service is available, but wanted to try this new experience to eat from the car with service. I thought to myself, do they serve the food on a 2 x 4 wood or something, and to my surprise, it was a rectangular metal tray with extensions that sits on the grooves of the window gap for stability. A genius idea for those like that choose to eat from the car instead of take-out or dine-in. I ordered the Westcoast Salmon Burger and Poutine. The Salmon was delicious, tender soft. I did my best to lessen the messiness from eating in the car. The poutine was yummy that I was quite full to finish and packed to take home a portion because I had eaten a meal awhile ago. I recommend the car hop service for a new experience but do check which locations because not all White Spot locations do the car hop service. Best to check before going to the location. read more

If I can give zero stars, I will with no hesitation. This restaurant is one of the worst places to eat. It gave me a really bad stomach ache immediately after leaving the restaurant. I don't know what I put in the food that I was in so much pain. Resulting from dirty contaminated food. Ngl the visit started a bit rough. We requested a table for two plus a baby so they arranged a table for us with a booster seat. Anyone with a grabby toddler can understand that a booster seat with a child under two is a sure fire disaster. When we said we needed a highchair not a booster seat, they seemed to put us back at the bottom of he waitlist and we waited an additional 15 minutes for a table. When we finally sat down, we ordered fairly promptly for kiddo to keep them occupied. Their food came quickly, which was a relief. I originally ordered a fried chicken burger and my partner ordered the legendary burger. When it arrived, I realized my order was a total mistake, I took a bite that was purely fried breading. When I peeled back the bun it just looked like a small portion of chicken that covered have the sandwich. I let the server know I just wasn't finding it very edible and asked for a different burger instead. She was quick to make the change and checked in with us repeatedly to make sure the rest of our meal went well. The second burger i ordered tasted amazing and I was really happy with it. When the bill arrived, I noticed the chicken burger was eliminated from the final total which was very nice of our server. Overall, the establishment is in an older building but it was absolutely packed on a Friday evening. The staff on the front desk were a bit scattered but hey, they were teens and it's a family restaurant. I remember being a teen hostess once, too. :) This location is a good one to choose when you just want to get out of the house with your family. The first time we dined in my Monty mushroom burger was absolutely dry the patty was super dry overcooked and there was basically no sauce on it. Our waitress basically never checked on us and when she finally came around I was finished eating and did mention it and she told me I should of mentioned it earlier. Two other times during the "lock down" we ordered food twice from here. The first time they tried giving us a chocolate shake instead of a strawberry shake and my husband said we ordered a chocolate shake and the guy was like no you didn't. For eggs benny/poached eggs, I strongly think they must be hard poached or at least medium. My classic eggs benny arrived with the two poached eggs each in a small container to be poured onto the english muffin and ham slices. It's probably impossible to keep soft poached eggs in tact via Skip the Dishes, so they really should cook them longer. A runny, cold eggs-hollandaise sauce mixture was not that enjoyable. I love many things about White Spot ~ their fries, their burgers, chocolate cake, and I recently discovered their fish and chips ~ delicious! I starting coming to the Gilmore and Lougheed Hwy location 2 years ago, when I moved to North Burnaby Heights. It's a 3-minute drive from my place, so it's great having a W S so close to home. Unfortunately, the food quality and service levels have dropped sharply over the past 2 years. Often, I have to stand at the front for a few minutes, having to wrangle someone off the floor to come to the front, so I get seated. It's busy here consistently it appears, service is VERY hit and miss. Some great, efficient servers who are fast on their feet, others are very mediocre. Often food arrives lukewarm, cold fries, no coffee refills, etc. The last time I came, I never got my bill, all the staff was in the back kitchen area~ so after 20 mins, I scraped up enough cash that I hoped was enough, and just left. I will check out the new location in Kensington Square in the future for White Spot meals. read more

Stopped at this white spot last week while in the area mid afternoon in a Friday. Menus had all the favorites and order came as expected. We ordered the mushroom burger with western side, one burger standalone, fish and chips and a pirate pak. Food tasted great. The pirate pak items have finished and ship looked really empty. There is no gold doubloon anymore. The choice of fruit is one, not both apples and grapes as in the past. Server was friendly and attentive and brought everything we asked for. I don't usually write reviews but if I can save someone else the negative experience I gotta say something. $50 later, I was so disappointed in the meal, I went out the next morning and nabbed the last turkey breast at the grocery store to enjoy a real turkey dinner with all the fix'ns. The Turkey portions were skimpy, very thin sliced, processed Turkey. My friend and I each got 2 thin slices of A carrot ‍ and a real conservative potion of broccoli. The mashed potatoes were plenty but honestly, I'm not sure they were real potatoes, because they tasted processed too. The stuffing was definitely processed cut in a triangle shape. I guess I didn't realize that the burger wouldn't have lettuce and tomato on it, so it wasn't what I expected (or remembered from my last visit to a White Spot). Overall, it was fine. I did find the bacon to be a little on the tough side.
