Seared Salmon Filet
Frances L.

A downtown hotel standard restaurant in Cloverdale. Restaurant ambience is hip & rustic with eclectic collection. We had a very unique appetiser- beet bruschetta - the hint of vinegar/pickle beet make the dish so refreshing. Salmon was seared so well and the seasoning was perfect and accompany with everything else on the plate. The lemon zest in the Creme Burlee amp up the vanilla flavour. The only reason that I miss out one star is the servers. With such a high standard of meal/dish. You don't ask/collect the dishes before the whole table finish the meal nor once guests put down the utensil. This is basic hospitality management. Maybe girls want to get off work quick. If that can be changed, I would definitely rate 5 stars.

Local brew.

We searched for a steakhouse in Surrey and Vault came up 4 stars. Trusting Yelp we headed for dinner and drinks on a Friay night. Upon arriving we were very surprised by the casual and rustic decor. It almost felt felt like a beach bar. I searched my menu for a filet or ribeye and learned they only have one steak... a flat iron. This is NOT a steakhouse. All that being said, we decided to go with the flow and enjoy some seafood. I had a pound of mussels in a bacon jalapeño rose sauce. It was delicious. I wanted more jalapeño flavor but understand BC might not be into spicy food.. My wife had a salmon and snapper chowder that was elevated and super tasty. The service was great and we liked the cocktails. The Cosmo was especially good.

We have been to this area many times but never got lucky to dine at this epic restaurant of cloverdale. Its ranked number one for many reasons but i grade it super star coz of following features of it. Simple straightforward menu with w twist and taste of local chef. Lamb shank gravy was Fragrant with cloves or cinnamon so it bursted taste buds along with smell buds for me. Double flavour . Vegetarian burger was outstanding as the patty was not made of soya, potatoes or beans rather fresh grated beetroot stir fried in some spicy and tangy flavours. I love that french fries were cut little bit thick just the way i like them aling with a side of greens. Bruschetta was the best spread with generous amount of goat cheese n onion and tomato salsa . Interiors arr rustic but meticulously designed or decorated. There is a small stage for live performances. Bar is little out of the way which is kind of nice as all patrons can enjoy their own private space or table with some blindspots. Lighting is dim but big glass windows throw plenty of light inside . Building is too old but well maintined. The room or vault which is a private area with a dinning table can be reserved for ur special evenings to have all privacy. I loved my table in the corner with comfortable seats and tasty as hell food.

Nice white sangria.

Great happy hour options. I had the beef short ribs. So tender and the sauce was on point! Nice open windows and newly opened patio. Service was awesome !

Started off with the shrimp and scallops appetizer it was very delicious. I ordered the lobster stuffed ravioli oh my it was amazing. My boss ordered the chicken breast and potatoes and thw chicken was juicy and vwey flavorful. The only thing that i didnt care for was the codmo because it was made with smirnoff which i didnt like because the drink tasted like cheap vodka. Our waitress was amazing and she credited us the drink because i didnt drink it. Otherwise the ambience was great i love the decor and food was good.

The total came out to be $43.50 plus tip. Fries were plentiful. The restaurant is nice and clean (although I did send my water back due to some dirt or dust in it). The wine list on "copier paper" was wrinkled with food stain on it. That was ghetto considering this calibre of restaurant One cool feature is that you can adjust the lighting at the table by pushing a button on the lamp. Parking is free. Google Maps takes you to parking lot. You may think it's wrong but it's right. Just park and go to east side of building. You'll find door there. Opposite side of building has resto called Camp Beer The service was good, and the atmosphere was lively with a nice crowd. Besides the food, I think it might be a great spot to hang out at the bar for drinks. There was a crowd starting to form at bar. I do encourage others to support this buisness vs the chain resto's of a similar calibre

We got a reservation a day before and there were plenty of spots available. They had a big drinks menu and quiet a few food options as well. Best part was that they had lots of veggie options! Here's what we got: Drinks - :: Zero-proof pineapple fizz - it def looked as good as it tasted. Very refreshing and fruity! Really enjoyed it. :: Guava aperol margarita - delicious! I could taste the guava and the spice on the rim of the glass was perfectly paired with the drink Food - :: Parmesan plenta fries - was so excited to try it, I wasn't sure what to expect. The presentation was amazing, just wish they were a big more crispy but the dipping sauce it came with was really good :: Burrata Bucatini - calabrian chili vodka cream sauce, pancetta, burrata, ricotta, thai basil, grano padano 3/5 :: Brick half chicken - pretty good! I would give it a 4/5 it was really creamy and the chicken was cooked well but I don't think it was seasoned that well. I would say for the portion size and the food, it was a bit overpriced but definitely 5/5 for the ambiance!

I loved the crispy exterior with the sea salt on top, and the inside was so pillowy and buttery - then topped with the blue cheese butter... yum! So good. For my entree, I ordered the truffle tenderloin steak and my dining partner had the ahi tuna. We also added the Brussels sprouts and Brie mashed potatoes to share. A really cool feature is they bring over a selection of steak knives that you can choose from. I really love this concept and whoever thought that up is a genius. I chose a gorgeous, elegant-looking knife with a handle that looked like mother of pearl. The steak was easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. They shave black truffle directly on the steak when it's served, which adds such a nice richness. The sauce is also one of the better sauces I've had on a steak. It was so tempting to want to lick the plate! It was a cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender. It's been a long time since I was really blown away by a great steak, but this just hit the mark in every way. The Brussels sprouts were great, but there was something in the dish that was a bit odd - almost like wasabi or something. It wasn't bad, it just had a kick that I wasn't expecting and made me cough a little bit. The potatoes were creamy and buttery but I did think the Brie flavour wasn't coming through enough. Maybe because all the other flavours on my plate were pretty strong. I didn't try the tuna but it looked beautiful and apparently tasted just as good. We finished off with a couple of desserts: the beehive pavlova and the crème brûlée, the latter being my typical go-to dessert. Unfortunately, I didn't really care for the salted caramel flavour here, but can't really put my finger on what exactly I didn't enjoy as I normally love salted caramel. One bite was enough for me. It looked amazing, though. I did enjoy the pavlova, but it wasn't a traditional style as it had ice cream inside instead of whipped cream. It was more like a baked Alaska without the flame. The flavours were good on this dessert, but I probably wouldn't order it again as I was really craving the more traditional pavlova. Service was good, but we did wait quite a long time after being seated before placing our order, and then waited again after dessert before getting our bill. We weren't in a hurry, but I think we were there for over 3 hours. Still a very enjoyable meal and I would definitely return for the steak alone.

Our group came to the restaurant during Happy Hour time, so upon walking in and checked in, we were seated pretty quickly. We sat at the booth section versus the bar area and the booths are really spacious to where even sitting with 3 people on one side, you still have a bit of wiggle room. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very eccentric, positive vibes but the lighting was pretry dim that we had to use our flash light every so often. Service-wise, our waitress was professional, positive, efficient and seemed like she was pretty new to this but was doing great! She provided us water and took our drink order a couple minutes after. Upon bringing our drinks, we were ready to order and she quickly took our order. After ordering, it was not long before our food came out, within 5-10 minutes and the waitress frequently checking up on how we were doing. Really great service in the end! The food that was provided to us was really good! The Chicken Gyoza was bomb, very flavorful and was not dry, as you might think. When biting in, the juices of the chicken melts in your mouth and wanting more. The Hot wings was definitely way too hot for me, as I am not a spicy food person, but my family loved the hot wings a lot. The Sweet Thai Chili wings was very good itself and surprisingly not that spicy but just that sweet kick and VERY juicy in texture and flavor. Lastly, the Snacker Nachos was very cheesy, not dry in flavor and adding the Tandoori Chicken in, made it even better to where me and my family just wanted more of the tandoori chicken! Overall experience for us was great, especially for first impressions, the service was exceptional and food was fulfilling! Would recommend this restaurant for casual and party gathering, if wanting to having a relaxed and fun time.

However, I was surprised that the restaurant ambience was way nicer than the rest of the building. The restaurant had a more upscale and cozy feel. Staff were friendly and efficient. Scallops were prepared in front of our eyes and tasted pretty good. Next, we had ribeye and beef tenderloin as our mains. We substituted the mash potatoes for mushroom risotto and gnocchi. It was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a dollop of butter. The risotto and gnocchi were both very rich and creamy. The gnocchi were pillowy soft. Lastly, we ordered dessert. There was complimentary crème brûlée for the birthday, but we decided to order their table side dessert as well. They had a trio dessert plate with another crème brûlée, donuts and a chocolate peanut butter ball. The staff torched the cream brûlée in front of us and then flambéed some brandy over the donuts and sprinkled some cinnamon powder. We were able to see some sparks with the cinnamon powder. Lastly, a caramel sauce was poured over the chocolate ball and melted part of the ball to reveal the ice cream filling. Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience here. I would consider coming back when I am craving some steak. I thought the price was reasonable for the experience.
