Our group of 6 came here for dinner last night. It was busy but they seated us pretty quickly. We tried to make a reservation but they don't take same-day ones. Our food was ok. I had the Szechuan beef noodles with a spice level of 3. It was fine, nothing special. The sauce was nice and the heat level was good. My friend had them with the no heat at all and she liked them. Another friend had the fish tacos and he thought they were really bad. A hunk of unseasoned fish with dry shaved cabbage and a boring salad on the side. He loves fish tacos and said these were the worst he's had. Others had the teriyaki salmon. We were disappointed that the salmon was farmed salmon. Being in salmon country wild salmon should be the norm. My husband had the chicken quesadilla which he enjoyed. The service was excellent though. Our server was friendly and helpful, even offering us a bigger table for our group for 6. We appreciated her. While this place wasn't bad, it was mostly just ok. We will probably somewhere else next time we are in Maple Grove. read more

We stopped-in, for a " last-minute" supper tonight as neither one of us wanted to prepare supper. My wife had her favourite dish--the Cowboy Bowl with blackened chicken, while I tried the Hollywood Burger meal for the first time. We both really enjoyed our entrees, along with my wife's preferred cider--Strongbow, while I tried the house lager--delicious. We shared a new dessert--the chocolate brownie " special ", also very tasty. Our server was fantastic--prompt ( attentive ) and friendly, while not constantly being" in our faces". Sorry but we can't recall his name --as he really deserved recognition for his work tonight. We're so glad we have such an establishment within walking distance of our place. The burger was pricey but sadly did not live up to how well it should have tasted... hurts me to say that an A&W Burger is a far better option than this.. This Brown's location has a fun, lively atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. It's the perfect place to socialize, close to home.

This busy place has a good sized menu (although not cheap) and my wife and adult son have been there many times. The nachos are addictive and the other menu items like bowls, and sandwiches are great. To be frank, the garlic fries are delicious but with skimpy portions but the overall experience is positive. Food, drinks and ambiance were great. Service was good at the start but got progressively worse. Dirty dishes left on our table the whole time, had to clear our own table constantly, even the menus. Had to constantly try and find our server to ask for drinks. And at one point she was eating in front of the kitchen. The manager who walked around all the tables never lifted a finger to assist clearing dishes AND what's worse, bellied up to the bar and started drinking with friend even though thr place was packed and thr servers could have used help. At one point, there was NOBODY on the floor at all for like 15 mins. You could see everyone sort of looking around for someone. We all decided to leave because we couldn't get service and my friend had to walk up to the kitchen to ask someone for our bills. THEN, our sever had NO CLUE who ordered what and made us sit through every single item the whole table ordered so she could enter it in her tablet correctly. Went here with a small group on a Sunday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. I was immediately impressed with the menu as the prices were all decent. On top of that, on Sundays and Mondays all pizzas are only $10. I ordered a small cup of thai soup to start and we all shared a round of nachos and edamame. Our server asked if we wanted to add extra cheese to the nachos. She said it would be $1 extra but warned that the nachos aren't very cheesy to begin with. We agreed to the extra cheese and I appreciated her warning. My soup came out at the same time as the appetizers. I really enjoyed the soup so by the time my pizza arrived, I decided I wanted a new order (I know, I know. I'm so difficult). I ordered the soup and salad combo and asked for my pizza to go (it made a delicious lunch the next day). Everyone enjoyed their food and our server was great. She checked up on us regularly and had no issues with my odd request for a new order. read more

First impression as I've never been to a Brown's before ... walking in and being greeted promptly was great! We were seated immediately and then waited for about 5 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The man behind the bar came to check that we had ordered drinks which was good service standard. Then we waited awhile for our food order to be taken but a young man came over, said he would be taking over and we ordered an appy and entree to share. Not long after we had to flag him down to get drink refills as no one that walked by was offering any though our glasses were empty awhile. Seemed like a long while afterwards the appy and burger showed up together... with burger split in two as we were sharing. The guac, chips and salsa tasted so good! Such a delightful appy and lovely start to the meal. Tried the fries and gravy, do not know what they put together to make the Alaska Highway gravy but it's delish! Next I tried the burger and was sadly disappointed because it was dry and overcooked, even burnt along the edge. Due to splitting the burger, my side was also quite thinner than the other side which made it worse but the other half was a smidgen better though still overdone. When the waiter came to ask Joe our food was, I let him know and he told the manager who apologized, offered a replacement and took it off the bill. We never saw the waiter again, not even to try to pay the bill although we did leave a tip because some of the service was actually good. Mixed feelings about this place, but will maybe try another location next. read more

I have been here 3 times. Yes, there has been a little wait but it's new! It's packed! A waitress can only guess how long some of the couch potatoes will loiter, so "oops" if she guessed wrong. All 3 times, my friends and I were very impressed with the food and service, even though the place was bursting at the seams each time. Great atmosphere as well. Love the firepit table on the patio. SHIT SERVICE! I'm a local that has frequented this location a number of times. The place was half full and fully staffed. My "waitress" showed up once to take my order...someone else...brought my food...waitress didn't appear again until I'd finished my meal to "ask if I wanted more wine" - quickly left without asking me anything else once I told her I didn't want anything, else other than the bill. 10 minutes later, my bill is delivered by a different server. Won't bother with the place again. Too many times visited with largely the same lack of service. Food was ok. Didn't leave a tip...no point. I'd suggest people living in the neighbourhood visit the local Keg instead. Superior food and well trained, great staff. Worth the little extra. read more

Really disappointed! Seems like service and food quality is slipping. 2pm on a weekday. Greeted nicely at the door seated in a comfy booth, but next to that neither of us were very impressed. Server knowledge was very weak. She seemed brand new which I understand but seriously not knowing what kind of pop you have or if there are any gluten/wheat free items on the menu. Basic stuff. The effort was there and she was very pleasant though. Food arrived and since it was very quiet I figured the food would be prefect. Dynamite roll was almost inedible. Fries tasted like they had been sitting there forever! Oddly enough some were hot and some were freezing. Quesadilla was lacking too! Not cooked very well. Almost half melted cheese and soft Tortilla. I'm sure they were doing some massive training front and back but it was lacking. I know it wasn't right because I've been going to various browns for years. Almost always great! I have to say the worst part was the fact that after our food arrived we literally never saw our server again. The supervisor on staff was helpful in recognizing that the server forgot about us and managed to swing by for a quick check pretty much when we were ready to leave. Went in at brunch time on a Saturday. Service was slow, and sub par, food was a joke. Ive never seen an eggs benny stand up like a hard boiled egg. Then cut in to it, and it was solid! The chicken fajita has a completely empty slice. Wow. Horrible cook at work. Manager comped the more expensive meal. Then when we got home realized that the side was never even served. Whole meal shoulda been comped in my opinion. This my my 1st visit, i will not be back. For the full prices they charge, i would expect it to be served well, and prepared properly. 0 star for me. This is a nice snazzy, little place. I like how they made the old Pizza Hut into a chique place to chill. I know by the start of the review it seems i should give more stars however here is why. The food is ok not great. Most items come out luke warm from the kitchen when the kitchen is close. We also had to wait over 30 min for refils on our soda drinks after asking. Ive also ordered in the skip the dishes and it comes decent. I would go back but wouldnt set my standards high. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but this Browns has a nice atmosphere with a cool patio with a fireplace. It is quite small, however, so it fills up quickly and you're left with a long line to be seated. I came here on a Thursday so it wasn't too busy. I ordered the Teriyaki rice bowl which is a lot like the one at Cactus Club. It has the spicy yogurt and similar vegetables. It is missing the broccoli and the pickled cabbage but other than that it was delicious! I like it almost as much as the Cactus Club one but with Browns being so close to home I will certainly be coming back for more! The service was very attentive also. read more
