Walked into this pub on a hot afternoon and it did not disappoint. I have no photos as we sat down and enjoyed our beers and nachos for two (huge portion by the way). Our server was very friendly and we had a great time. It's an old world vibe and it also has a corner with lots of books. Probably the worst pub experience I've had in my life. The pizza was cardboard frozen pizza. The nachos were not made with fresh ingredient. The pulled pork Mac and Cheese tasted fine. I've been bloated and heartburn ridden for almost 24 hours, makes me think they have mouldy beer lines. the staff was fine. the ambiance was sub par, its really old in there and not in a good way. Never been here before but wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend. Ordered the lettuce wraps that had ground chicken. I'm not sure there was any chicken in there. What can I say... I don't even know where to begin . Small overpriced portions , lacking any kind of flavour or creativity. Dark outdated and broken facilities. I know it's a pub but it has been there forever and the decor shows . I watched the bartender fill every glass with ice , glasses in his left hand , ice scoop in his right and then stick his right hand fingers in the top of every glass to move them from his left to the bar top . Then handle cash , cards machines etc with the same hands and do it all over again . Service was mediocre at best , didn't come back and check on drinks or if we wanted anything else until we where ready to leave . Can't say we will be back anytime soon. read more

Came here for cheap wings night, held on Wednesday. My new favourite place for wings. They have a light crisp texture on the outside which is the best part. They are a good size and not greasy. The pub's interior is large, lots of seating. Patio seating as well. Friendly service. read more

Wow this place has gone down hill fast and the food prices are way to high for what you get. They use to have the best pasta Jambalaya and it has been taken off the new very pricey menu. They did ad biscuits and gravy for a couple of hours on the weekend but I tried it since I am from the USA and it was very bad and $18.00. We went there the other day and ordered wings and with the additional charges of being hot and with sour cream they were over $2.00 each & four places in maple ridge sell better wings for only $.55 cents each. The beer we ordered was $10.50. We ordered the special on Sunday that was beef dip for three and they charged any addition you had like gravy at $3.00 a small cup and it was horrible since it tasted like they added mexican beef spices to the gravy. We all ordered 4 cups and no one ate any after tasting it. What a waste of $15.00 with tip. Beef dip special with cheese,gravy,12 wings with sour cream & 1 beer was $50.00 plus tip & my bill for three beef dips was at $100.00. I just ate the best wings last night at the Haney pub in maple ridge & 12 wings cost me $6.60 & the beer was $6.50 for the good stuff $13.00 total and free pool for the night. The reach in maple ridge is $.59 for wings on Wend & $5.50 a pint. I am not sure why Jimmy Mac's is almost 4 times higher in price and not as good or large on the wings but they are. The service is also just average and they place seems dead for customers. I would suggest to the owner to lower your prices to match other pubs in the area and bring back the food everyone wants like your pasta. I would also either make homemade biscuits or drop your biscuits and gravy you just added since your wife is from the USA and Americans love a good biscuit and gravy. You do not have one yet. It would also be nice to play some free pool like several other pubs offer. Other pubs also have some great specials during the week and your specials seem to start at well over $20.00 which is not a deal at all. The pub could also use a reno since it has not been done since I came there 20 plus years ago. We will not come back and our favorite pub in Maple ridge is always the Black Sheep pub so the owner should go eat there and get some ideas of what should be changed at your pub. The Haney Pub and the Reach Pub is also very busy and they are doing it right as well. The size and prices of the meals at Jimmy Macs pub and the costs of the drinks will keep me and my family and friends from ever returning in the future unless these get changed. I hope this helps anyone looking for a great pub to go to. The last pub that is good is the Ranch in Maple Ridge with a great Burger & fries on wend at only $8.99 & all you can eat taco's on Tues at only $12.00 & great service as well. read more

June 25/19: This was not a good meal tonite. The server seemed uninterested in providing any real service & was slow to do just that. The outdoor seating area was equipped with very old plastic of tables & chairs that were very poorly cared for. The table I sat in was so wobbly that I was reluctant to even lean on it let alone to eat from it! The food was greasy & tasteless & oh so unsatisfying! Went to a Halloween fundraiser and initially liked the segregated sections layout. Could not figure out whom our waitress was as it appeared to be quite busy in our section so I flagged down an older lady to get drinks and food. Both arrived relatively quickly and she came back around to check up on us. An hour or so later a waitress in a blue M&M costume apologized that she was so busy but could now serve us. We got menus and about 15 minutes later she came back so we could order a drink. Then we decided to move to another section to play trivia so flagged her down, and she quickly brought the bill. Fastest service all night! We moved to a table closer to the bar thinking we should get good service. WRONG! As we sat with empty glasses, gazing at menu hoping to order food, the waitress dressed as the Bride of Chucky serving the area directly around us completely ignored our table for more than an hour! Other waitresses dressed as 2 Broke Girls and Hairy Black Spider or something also totally ignored us. We decided there was no point flagging down rude servers that can see us but did not bother asking if we want anything. So we left to hang out at a different establishment that provided service so we could order drinks and food. It's really too bad as we live nearby and this could've been a frequent hangout if it was run better but I've read many online reviews that indicate poor service except for everyday regular locals. Came in with co-workers for lunch and had a reserved table as it was one of our birthdays. They asked for I.D and one of our party (who has been here many times and is obviously of age) left here at the shop. The manager told her she had to leave. We all proceeded to order food. 10min later he returned and addressed everyone BUT the person without identification, letting us know that he had not put our food order in even though we are on a tight schedule. Because of the individual in our party who didn't have ID. This could've been handled better by the manager like adjusting the person who had the issue as opposed to penalizing all of us that did bring ID. Was blown away by the attentive fast customer service. I was here for a 'paint nite' event and came early to get a good seat. My friend ordered a beer and I tried the Stuffed Yorki appetizer. The description DID say it came with horseradish mayo. so I shouldn't have been surprised when I got a bite that was hot! Wish I would have requested none because it was too much for me. To sum up this joint, terrible all around from the patrons to the food, and the service. Went here for a bite to eat around lunchtime and thought Jimmy Mac would hit the spot but sadly it failed in numerous ways. Upon entering the establishment the usual "regulars" that frequent here gave us dirty looks as we walked through looking for a table. Well, excuse me Mr. Middle aged men who are drinking with other middle aged men it's not my fault there are no women with you. Drinking at noon seems pretty choice when your by yourself. Service was atrocious from the get go. I ordered a coke and my brother got a hot tea and our server seemed pissed that we didn't order booze. Sorry it's noon and I prefer not to be like those goofs ordering doubles at lunch. We waited about 10 minutes to order our food and it came 10 minutes later dropped off my another server. I ordered the chicken strips and made a substitution for onion rings for $2. Chicken strips were standard pub fare as I got four but the onion rings were just awful. Frozen from a package!!!!!!! How could I tell? They were semi warm and they were for certain made from McCain. One coke and one tea were finished but where's our server? Oh wait here comes the same server who dropped off our food clearing our table. Our original server comes by to bring our bill, it's ok i didn't want a refill anyways and ditto for my brother. We paid and then left and I noticed the pathetic middle aged men drinking by themselves got better service. Why? because they are obviously regulars and they didn't order hot tea and coke. I've been here numerous times over the years and it has been pretty good. I ordered the clubhouse with the soup of the day. The sandwich was good on multi-grain bread. Nothing too fancy. The soup was cream of tomato and macaroni. It tasted like campbell's soup with kraft dinner mixed in and a bit of dill. It was actually pretty good. The service was terrible this time. Waited over 10 minutes for our server to come take our order. She was polite but just going through the motions. I didn't feel welcome. It was lunchtime so I didn't order any booze. It seemed that the other tables got great service because they ordered a beer. After the food arrived nobody asked us how it was. No offers for refills. I get that people work for tips and try to upsell, but ignoring tables that don't order a beer isn't okay. read more

Was there this past Friday night about 19:30h. Music was too loud inside, so my buddy and I sat on the patio. Isn't smoking (cigarettes and vapes) illegal and rude in public areas? Apparently it's no prob here. 5 minutes for our server to get to us. Too busy collapsing umbrellas on empty tables and standing around talking with other guests. We ordered our drinks and she came back to take our orders. My buddy's food was acceptable for him, and it looked ok. I, however, ordered the 60z bacon wrapped steak with baked potato and coleslaw. What a f*****g disappointment. Some guy, not our server brought out the food. I asked him if anything appeared strange with the plate. He had no comment on it. There was about 2 tbsp (being generous) of coleslaw in a ramekin not even filling it half way. I said that was a very poor portion. He offered up nothing but to take it up with our server. Great customer service. :/ The steak, ordered rare, was pretty much well done. Bacon was dry and bland. The splash of bbq sauce on top just proved to me that the cooks just don't give a sh!t. It was cold even. I asked the server, after about 10 minutes of not visiting us and my steak and potato was finished, if this portion of coleslaw was acceptable and she said "it was a bit on the small side". Oh really??? She brought out another ramekin with the same amount to make up for the crappy portion. How lame. They could have added some fries to that plate to make it pop, but nooooo..... they couldn't even fill a ramekin past half. Those 2 sides, had there been sufficient portions, would have saved this review. What a joke. read more

Simple but satisfying. I was in the area for work and I decided to drop by with a business client for lunch. I am happy to say that we both enjoyed our meals. The prices were reasonable and the service was relativiely quick and friendly. The selection was standard pub fare. My burger was reasonable, but not outstanding. The potato skins were reasonable but not outstanding (they could have been a little bit crispier and perhaps a little bit more aggresively seasoned.) Overall no complaints. I think it comes in square right at a 3 stars -- no less, no more. read more

This was the second time we went to this pub. I like the decor - classic sports bar with a mixture of sports memorabilia, giant TVs and an older wood furniture. I find this to be comfortable and I enjoy this type of atmosphere. The waitress was very nice. She didn't make us her best friends, but she was friendly and we shared some laughs. The food was good. I won't say that it was absolutely amazing, but very simple and tasty! But what made me give this pub five stars? The temperature of the beer. My partner and I have enjoyed a beer or two at a variety of pubs in the region and hands down, the beer at this pub is the coldest! With all the above factors, it was a very good over all experience. Haven't been here in years. Always had good memories of it back in the 90's. Went with a small group of us on Sunday afternoon. At happy hour. Waitress was personable but not very quick. Was empty on my beer many times and no ask if we wanted refill. Ordered their happy hour beers. That's what we recieved but were charged for the upgraded 16oz beers. Didn't notice til after I paid. Felt cheated. My food was less than stellar. Asked the waitress how the special of the day was. It was a cajun cheesesteak sandwich. She responded with " Don't know. Haven't seen it. " Not exactly helpful. Ordered it anyway. Wasn't good. Very small and no filling. Fries tasted like cardboard. Our friends both ordered burgers. Both came very underdone. Almost raw. I used to be a regular customer many years ago and I stopped coming because the staff are rude and arrogant.

This is our go to place whenever we want to grab a quick bite to eat or if we have family over visiting then this is the place we all go. It is usually quite busy and parking can be an issue but once you are in the service is spot on, all menu items are worth a repeat and the atmosphere is energetic and fun. I've be a customer of Jimy Mac's over the years & have never had a food item I did not like. Today my son & I popped in for a late luncheon together since he had the day off. I had yorkshire pudding stuffed with shaved beef (a tinge of horse radish), garlic mashed potatoes & mixed vegetables ... it was amazing!
