There were 3 couples that I went with to this pub. Upon entering the ambiance was really good. We were glad they took reservations. It was busy and they even gave an upstairs for larger groups. Service was very good. Lots of water when needed. Drinks were quick and good. Ordered my drink as soon as dinner was delivered and got it right away. The food was good and thus is where it dropped a star for me. I had the butter chicken. Hot , lots of chicken but the sauce confused me. It came red and not orange like butter chicken is. It appeared to be a more marinara sauce with salsa and tasted as such. Good food but not what I thought. Seafood chowder was excellent. Lots of fish. Charrasco sandwhich was very good. The person who ordered it ate the entire sandwich. Normally she only eats half and takes the other half home so a change. There were 2 cobb salads and one house salad. Lots of lettuce. One with chicken, 2 with prawns ( 8 only) and a harvest bowl. No desserts needed as we were all full. Over all I would go back. Good prices good food and good ambiance. read more

Another awesome time. Came with family. Busy as always. Fun music but not too loud. Nachos to start. Nice gooey cheese with dipps . One of the most tasty i havecever had. Great share plate to start. The steak and Guinness Pie was amazingly tasty and one of my new personal fav's. The steak was lean, well simmered and pulls apart easily with a fork. The sauce. We paid a visit to this restaurant for brunch, after my husband mentioned a desire to go and I found a coupon in my local coupon book. They only have the brunch menus in effect, so that helped us narrow down our food choices that morning. Waitress greeted us cheerfully as we sat down and took note of my coupon right away. My husband ordered the Chorizo Hash and I settled on the Brekkie Bun. I loved the melted cheese and bacon/egg goodness stuffed inside of the bun. It was a little on the glazed/sticky side and I made good use of the napkins. I had already had a little something to eat before we made our way out for brunch, so I appreciated the lighter/smaller portion versus ordering a richer hash. Loved the Irish decor of the restaurant and we made a note to go back for dinner someday! read more

Made a reservation for a birthday group of 5 a week before confirmed by email by manager showed up no table set up, people in the seat we asked for, second choice open but tables not arranged or reserved. Problem #1. We had to move furniture ourselves not impressed. I asked server why our table was not reserved they went to check the booking and the manager "rolled her eyes" and said the other group was here earlier and we can't always guarantee a spot. Umm, then don't confirm reservations. Rude #2. Order our food just fine. Food comes we eat have a community book coupon 25% off bill with a drink purchase everyone ordered fish and chips except two meals a burger and mac and cheese plus a few ice teas and a booze drink. Get the bill less than 10% off. Issue #3 3 STRIKES YOUR OUT! Bill was $132 Gave a Tip now closer to $160... look at coupon applied to see they didn't do the 25% check in to see they didn't apply it. Excuses given... fish and chips are $2 off tonight can't give you 25% off just charge regular price and do the 25% off which is $6+ each nope can't do it. upgraded yam fries on each... nope can't apply to those either thats attached to the promo too. You didn't apply it to the ice teas either, they hand over $2.50+ in change and seem annoyed... they had no intention of applying the community values coupon on our bill. Excuses after excuses. We won't be back coupon or not, ever again in fact had I looked at that bill that tip would have been ZERO I regret tipping! Horrible that you do this to people you should at least warn people you won't charge regular prices and then apply the coupons. read more

We have been patrons of this pub for quite a few years and have had quite the range of experiences. It's been absolutely great for lunch, with a wide array of choices, like the dash, the half dash, which caters to those with smaller appetites. We experimented with their weekend brunches quite a few times and found the experience, and food quality, to be very wide ranging. From 1 to 4 stars should not be what we were subjected to. The pub itself, and the decor, are wonderful to experience. That said if the food and service isn't great the ambiance really doesn't matter. Our food and service experience the past few times we have stopped in for lunch, have been very good, hence the 4 stars. The amount of food you get should be able to satisfy even the biggest eater. The servers are attentive and very friendly which will keep us coming back! read more

Food is good. I had the bacon cheeseburger & fries, but if you need something, you better get it from the server when you see one because you'll never see one again! I went to pay at the bar, & even the bartender asked ANOTHER server to take my payment (who ALSO disappeared after handing me the interac machine)! Obviously, I did NOT leave a tip! When I left, there were FOUR security bouncers at the door chatting away in Punjabi without any concern they were blocking the exit. Very RUDE! I'm NEVER going back there! read more

Yeah, it's true. This place is a labyrinth. It starts with wide open spaces and quickly devolves to tight narrow corridors that also have seats in them. Add to that the countless number of intoxicated patrons whose judgement of personal space is temporarily suspended and you've got either a recipe for anxiety or a night you'll prefer to forget in the morning. I walked in and there was a sign saying "please wait to be seated" only there was no one there to greet me for several minutes. Then someone approached and I asked for a table but was told to seat myself. She then flipped the sign around so it now said "seat yourself" Thanks. I opted to sit in the less unruly restaurant side It was a busy Saturday night, which is usually a good sign, but without a better option, my friends who live nearby decided we should meet here. I'll leave saying that the food was your average pub fare but the one saving grace was the Guinness on tap! read more

I recently went here and the waitress broke a glass while serving my table. The contents soaked my daughter's pants as well as everyone's feet. No visit from the manager, no discount on the bill- they even charged for the drink!!!! , - we were given a small voucher for future use (barely enough for one person). I emailed the manager and the response was an - 'yes, I was aware. oops' At any other restaurant, her portion would have been comped & there would be a disc off the bill to apologize for the incident and the voucher to keep our future business. This is standard!!! I was shocked by the lack of ownership of this incident. On another note, I have been to the Dub many times and the food has been decent but I have noticed that the portions are recently much smaller. read more

Went out on a date night with the Mrs. and both agreed to get there a bit early around 6:00 pm to miss out on the possible mad weekend business and glad we did. Walked in the main entrance and greeted by the friendly staff and made our way to the back area as most of the booths and seats near the entrance and the middle of the place were already occupied. Sadly the mezzanine was closed as per the sign and we understood as they most likely open it up when they get busy. Found a table a the back and we were good to go. Our server was awesome and very attentive but not too overbearing, ordered some drinks and she came back to take out order. Bourbon brie bacon burger with fries and clubhouse with yam fries. Waitress disclosed that yam fries were a bit extra but no big deal. Food came fast within 20 minutes and arrived looking very delicious. Burger was fantastic with great flavor of whiskey and brie, the bacon was terrific with a heaping load of fries. Clubhouse was also a great choice as it didn't have that strange third piece of bread in the middle that fills you up and gets in the way. Yam fries were hot and fresh with chipotle mayo on the side that didn't burn the esophagus. Desert was sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, also a great choice read more

The entree in question is Shepard's Pie. Right off the bat got to give my respects to the gravy. The gravy clearly contained Guinness for the bitterness, the bitterness worked wonderfully with the gravy's natural saltiness. The mashed potato was hand done from the chunky feel in the mouth. It is actually "Dublin crossing" pub. I have been there several times. The first time I was quite excited, it had opened when I was actually living in Ireland, and by the time I was back it had the rep for being "authentic" in food, decor, and the way the Guinness is poured (ie: it is poured properly, which is impossible to find here). Quiet excited I eagerly ordered my first pint of the black when I got there, and was extremely disappointed. I didn't expect a proper pour, but I did expect a decent pint and they did not deliver. The lines were clearly quite dirty, in fact it was the dirtiest pint I'd ever drinken. I made an email complaint, not asking for anything but just advising since even their website takes so much pride in their pint. His reply "that was entertaining to read, haha". I've had to go back maybe twice since for birthday parties, the food is decent (again, expect standard canadian version of Irish pub grub). I don't recommend it to anyone, i think the place is probably one of the worst to go, decor is interesting by lay out is terrible, over priced drinks, slow service, rude management. read more

I have been to Dublin Crossing 7 times now (always with different friends who want to try it, me, banging my head), and each time its the same thing... its gorgeous inside to be sure, but service is either very slow and lacking in all areas, or the food just doesn't live up to its billing. It then ends up a very underwhelming experience. And whats with the upstairs always being closed off, but you can't find seats downstairs? And please, no more "sorry, we're understaffed today" excuses, just do your job and try to do it well. I shouldn't hear that as a patron. Especially on a regular basis. So if you want to go check it out, do so, the woodworking they had done is pretty great to look at, but the food/service are big mehs. Oh, and NO debit. We went back, even though we thought it was over priced last time because someone gave us a $20 gift certificate. It was still overpriced, but the service this time around was terrible. It took quite a while before we even got to order, and it took even longer to get our food. It wasn't particularly busy either, maybe because it was a Sunday evening, or maybe because others have received the same level of service and quality that we did. I had quite a savoury Lamb stew And Smithwicks when I was there and thought they were both quite good. beautiful decor inside the restaurant, but service was slow and lacking. decent prices on the menu. they also have lunch specials - $6.50 for half a sandwich with one of soup/salad/fries. i tried their mac and cheese ($12 with garlic bread) - good but a bit dry on the top half. maybe it was b/c we had a group of 10, but service felt really slow. we had to wait 15 min for drink order. another 20 min for the waitress to come around for the food orders. and 15 min for the bill to come - just to be told by the waitress that the computer froze and she had to restart the system. it was the decor and the food that brought this place to 3 stars. no stars for service. read more

I finally went to dublin's crossing. It's beautiful inside. The nicest place in cloverdale. Very odd layout though. You'll know what I mnea when you go there. A friend and I went for lunch. The menu had lots to choose from. Definately upscale pub food. I ordered the chicken pannini. It had mango chutney, spinach, mayo, the bread was a cheese garlic bread. There is a huge amount of chicken in it. When it first arrived my first thought was "this is a puny sandwich, but it was more than filling, and very delicious. One odd point though: the bottom bun was toasted and warm, but the top was cold. I figure it was made this way as not to burn the cheese that is baked on top. Although it wasn't busy at all it took about 20 minutes for our food after we ordered. Which seemed like a very long time for lunch. Perhaps there was only one cook? It was a monday so I'm not too upset. Slow Kitchen aside, our server was very good, frequent checks to make sure everything was fine. I tried going there on saturday night but it was too busy with a line out the door, complete with velvet rope and bouncer. So I asked the waitress at lunch what the deal was, she said: On friday and saturday nights, don't bother coming after 8:00 its too busy, come around 5:00 on weekends. They don't take reservations at all on weekends, only between monday- thursday. Take this into account when planning a party. read more

This pub is beautiful inside. Love the large bar with all the scroll work. Came in for lunch and had the chicken salad sandwich and lobster bisque. Holy heck. Delish! My husband has the Irish lamp stew. It was tasty and tender with little dumplings in it. We will be back! read more
