Chorizo Hash
Vivien I.

We paid a visit to this restaurant for brunch, after my husband mentioned a desire to go and I found a coupon in my local coupon book. They only have the brunch menus in effect, so that helped us narrow down our food choices that morning. Waitress greeted us cheerfully as we sat down and took note of my coupon right away. My husband ordered the Chorizo Hash and I settled on the Brekkie Bun. I loved the melted cheese and bacon/egg goodness stuffed inside of the bun. It was a little on the glazed/sticky side and I made good use of the napkins. I had already had a little something to eat before we made our way out for brunch, so I appreciated the lighter/smaller portion versus ordering a richer hash. Loved the Irish decor of the restaurant and we made a note to go back for dinner someday!

Not combining them is one thing. Not applying them to full price is another! How hard is it to apply 25% to full price menus?

Made a reservation for a birthday group of 5 a week before confirmed by email by manager showed up no table set up, people in the seat we asked for, second choice open but tables not arranged or reserved. Problem #1. We had to move furniture ourselves not impressed. I asked server why our table was not reserved they went to check the booking and the manager "rolled her eyes" and said the other group was here earlier and we can't always guarantee a spot. Umm, then don't confirm reservations. Rude #2. Order our food just fine. Food comes we eat have a community book coupon 25% off bill with a drink purchase everyone ordered fish and chips except two meals a burger and mac and cheese plus a few ice teas and a booze drink. Get the bill less than 10% off. Issue #3 3 STRIKES YOUR OUT! Bill was $132 Gave a Tip now closer to $160... look at coupon applied to see they didn't do the 25% check in to see they didn't apply it. Excuses given... fish and chips are $2 off tonight can't give you 25% off just charge regular price and do the 25% off which is $6+ each nope can't do it. upgraded yam fries on each... nope can't apply to those either thats attached to the promo too. You didn't apply it to the ice teas either, they hand over $2.50+ in change and seem annoyed... they had no intention of applying the community values coupon on our bill. Excuses after excuses. We won't be back coupon or not, ever again in fact had I looked at that bill that tip would have been ZERO I regret tipping! Horrible that you do this to people you should at least warn people you won't charge regular prices and then apply the coupons.

Half dash with onion rings was plenty for the lovely K!

We have been patrons of this pub for quite a few years and have had quite the range of experiences. It's been absolutely great for lunch, with a wide array of choices, like the dash, the half dash, which caters to those with smaller appetites. We experimented with their weekend brunches quite a few times and found the experience, and food quality, to be very wide ranging. From 1 to 4 stars should not be what we were subjected to. The pub itself, and the decor, are wonderful to experience. That said if the food and service isn't great the ambiance really doesn't matter. Our food and service experience the past few times we have stopped in for lunch, have been very good, hence the 4 stars. The amount of food you get should be able to satisfy even the biggest eater. The servers are attentive and very friendly which will keep us coming back!

Yeah, it's true. This place is a labyrinth. It starts with wide open spaces and quickly devolves to tight narrow corridors that also have seats in them. Add to that the countless number of intoxicated patrons whose judgement of personal space is temporarily suspended and you've got either a recipe for anxiety or a night you'll prefer to forget in the morning. I walked in and there was a sign saying "please wait to be seated" only there was no one there to greet me for several minutes. Then someone approached and I asked for a table but was told to seat myself. She then flipped the sign around so it now said "seat yourself" Thanks. I opted to sit in the less unruly restaurant side It was a busy Saturday night, which is usually a good sign, but without a better option, my friends who live nearby decided we should meet here. I'll leave saying that the food was your average pub fare but the one saving grace was the Guinness on tap!

A chicken burger with a wing tip portion of chicken.

I'll give it a 3, but only because our server made up for the rest... She was awesome. Quality control on the food though needs to be improved upon. Beef dip was so dry, no horseradish dressing as described and the chicken burger had this much chicken ... See picture... They removed it from the bill.... But who would create this and think it's okay?!?!

We ate here while coming through on a cruise. Seven of us found quick seating. Make sure you ask…read morefor outside versus indoor as the inside was a bit stuffy. Food was good. I enjoyed my cod and chips. The mac and cheese was enjoyed by my kids. Be warned - a cheese pizza is just cheese on crust so its really heavy. Ambience wise it has an old atmosphere feel and the staff was great.

The Irish Times is such a fantastic find in a lovely part of town. We spent a great evening sitting…read moreout on the sidewalk, but the interior is just as impressive--a beautiful and historic building dating back to 1894 with very lively music playing inside. I was honestly shocked by how good the food was. I had initially assumed it might be a spot primarily for tourists, but a dear friend of mine who is a local mentioned that people in Victoria actually love coming here. She even noted that some friends from her children's school were there just the night before for an alumni weekend. The menu absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by the fish and chips; the fish was moist with a light batter and wasn't oily at all. The burgers, Irish stew, and shepherd's pie were all delectable as well. The real standout, however, was the sockeye salmon in a pesto preserved lemon broth--it was so addictive that I wish I could replicate the recipe at home. It is very easy to see why this spot has received so many accolades, and I would love to return the next time we are back in Victoria!

another fine seán establishment that julia will be frequenting (the other being open outcry!)…read more thank you a for always appeasing to whatever restaurant choice i pick. tho she does say that my choices are often good...i haven't slipped up yet so let's keep it that way. shoutout MUST be given to teagan (spelling?) for being the best server. helpful, fun and attentive but not in a creepy "im watching you" kinda way! there were def some drinks that caught our eye frm the menu. a relived her childhood fav - the shandy! i had a sip and it is very easy on the palate - that lemonade adds a refreshing citrus note to the drink. i, ofc, had the gunpowder & tonic. i had a double, no regrets! then a decided to try the dirty snakebite - ribena makes it dirty and for those who know, you know i ended up having the same as my last drink but only as a half pint - so thank you teagan for informing me of that! was the dirty snakebite as lethal as the menu says - no. it is VERY easy to keep drinking it tho - the ribena adds a subtle sweetness to the drink that makes it that much more palatable. before this drink, i had the peach & orange ketel one spritzer - the peach shines through the whole drink tho not in an artificial way. another easy drink to down - i guess we were on a roll for drinks! now for food! for appies, we had the preserved seafood and posh toast. conservas aka preserved seafood are basically the canned seafood that we see at the stores - obvsly the ones at irish heather are not your run of the mill ones. we had the mejillones en escabeche #130 - smoked mussels. the mussels were smoked to perfection with a nice of hint of char. the toast that came with the dish was on point - not too burnt compared to the posh toast. the mussels were also creamy in the mouth, not something you'd expect frm canned seafood. the posh toast was nice minus the super burnt toast. the spinach and artichoke spread was on point - it almost reminded me of an egg salad spread! then the star main - the stacked corned beef sandwich. i'm sure most know how much i rave abt the corned beef - it was the same quality, same taste and same flavour that i fell in love with. as a and i shared, we added extra corned beef to make a monster corned beef sandwich. that was the best decision along with added the chili cheese to our fries. often cheese sauces can be too salty, it was the opposite in this case! best food/carb coma ever and another go-to pub to add to julia's repertoire

Lordy lordy! This place is NOT it. Definitely not worth going to the sketchy side of town for. I…read morecame in, the place was 90% empty and it took me 10 minutes to get a drink. And yes, I was sitting at the bar. Then the bartender disappeared for a long time while it looked like a few people were waiting for service. My Kilkenny seemed flat. Have you seen the food menu? Uninspired to say the least, and the kitchen was closing up at 9:00. These people do not care.
