I loved the fact that this was directly next-door to the hotel. The atmosphere is dark woods... Like an upscale pub. Pretty simple menu... Nothing fancy, but the food was hot... And fresh. Which is what I am looking for. I thought the service was excellent. Very polite... And they checked on me multiple times. I was tired after a long day on a recent trip to British Columbia. Instead of driving somewhere for dinner, I decided to try the place next door to the hotel, Fox & Fiddle. I couldn't order online but could view the menu on their website. I called, ordered, and in 20 minutes, I was able to pick it up for "Carry Out." The menu is more than your typical pub food and includes an excellent selection of salads and flatbreads. I opted for the Fish and Chips. The meal was packaged well, hot, and overall very tasty. The fish was good quality with a mild batter fried crisp. The fries (chips) were excellent, with lots of potato heft. The cole slaw was almost added like an afterthought. The restaurant was busy when I arrived, but I could pick up my food when they said it would be ready. Overall, the prices are higher than in other similar places, but the food is enjoyable. And I am open to trying it out again when I am in town. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but my experience yesterday at Fox and Fiddle in Langley was so BAD that I have to share it. My birthday was supposed to be special, but it turned out to be the WORST ONE EVER! I made a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance for September 21, between 3-3:30pm, for a group of 14-16 people, anticipating a smooth and pleasant celebration. We arrived promptly and appeared to be the first customers, as the restaurant was still empty. We started ordering cocktails and appetizers, but when it came to the mains, the service was appalling. They brought the meals one by one, and it took 30-40 minutes to get each dish. By the time some of us got our food, others had already finished eating. The slow service ruined the entire meal. Worse, there was only one chef and one server, despite it being a weekend, and despite our large reservation made well in advance. How is it possible they were so underprepared? My partner and I ended up taking our last meal to go because everyone else was already done. On top of that, the atmosphere was unbearable. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, and another loud party dressed in all black took over the area around us. It was incredibly noisy, and it ruined any chance we had of enjoying the celebration. The staff knew it was a birthday celebration but did nothing to improve the situation or offer a solution, even though there were plenty of open tables in quieter areas. Overall, this was a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and we will "NEVER" be coming back! read more

I'm so happy that this pub is open for business at this time. When you drive past this place the name "Fox and Fiddle" stands out on the board! I have to admit I love the name that's chosen. As far as the food, man is it good. You must start off with the Irish nachos, chicken bites, spinach dip, and the potato boats. The Irish nachos were so crunchy and didn't make me miss the chips, the chicken bites were flavoured honey garlic and made my taste buds want more, and the dip comes with both naan and chips and I love that option. read more

Went in with my wife and friends last night took 15 minutes for first drink and went downhill really fast after that.We had our meals half an hour later ,Food was fine had to wait for server to clear dishes and was asked to clear our bill with her as she was off shift no problem she said the remaining server would look after us she must of been a ghost because we never saw her the hostess asked if we needed more drinks and we said yes she commented she would get our server once again never saw her we waited 1/2 hour again and left info med bartender why we we're leaving he said ok and no sorry anything so we will never comeback again and will tell everybody I know not to go to your establishment. read more

An embarassment. 10% discount bait and switch tactics, $25 for a kids meal We have two children, 6 and 7 years old. Slow service trying to get a kids' menu. (It wasn't given automatically at the beginning... just adults' menus for everyone.) So anyway, finally got the kids' menu. Kids' meals are $9, but no hamburger on the kids' menu. Our 6-year really wanted a plain burger with just ketchup. The waitress said that would be fine. Came out to costing adult burger prices. Furthermore, the kids' meal was supposed to include a drink. Our boy asked for chocolate milk. Charged us $3.50. Only when the bill comes do they tell us that kids' meal drinks are only pop... milk is $3.50. Asked for tomato on the burger... came in at $1.50 extra. All told, the kids' burger ended up costing $25. Also, as guests of the adjoining hotel, we were told we'd get 10% off our meal. Yet, when they calculated it on the bill, the discount was only given on each basic meal before any add-ons or upgrades. And not on any drinks, etc. We brought our concerns up to the management and basically, they said that the restaurant has to make money somehow and they can't be giving things away for free. They aren't transparent with all the added costs and the fact that the discount promised won't be applied to the final bill. I'm very embarrassed for this restaurant. What a shame. The restaurant itself is very nice and the food is more than adequate, but for the way they treat customers, I just wouldn't come here out of principle. Sad. read more

this is was the WORST experience I have ever had at an establishment. I booked this place months in advance for a get together (Holiday get together) for our clerical team for Christmas. At the booking time we were notified there will be an in house DJ only to find out the day of there is no DJ. I did question about any compensation regarding this and we were told nope nothing, and notified us don't worry we have " in house music." there in house music was the music you would hear in regular restaurants ( cactus background music is louder) and when we asked for music to be played a bit louder for the feel of a pub / dance vibe we were told the volume can't be put up any louder. which we questioned since they have live DJ on Fridays. the service was very poor and the evening manager was overly rude and not at all accommodating. her demeanor to our cancer agency staff was unremarkably arrogant and rude. I regret booking this place for our get together ... not a single person had a good experience. and we regret that this made our staff feel undermined and undervalued as customers. Please dont make the mistake of hosting any get togethers at the FOX and Fiddle in Langley.. In addition when we booked we informed them of the additional tables and backdrop we were having and the day of the event we were told we can't have things set up a certian way and that we didn't ask for tables instead we were told u needed to come in and discuss-- however, when we questioned this on the phone on several occasions if this is necessary we were told with confidence, no worries, we will have a main table and 2 tables in the side.. I am withiut a doubt disgusted with how my team was treated -a hope for a wonderful night turned into a disastrous night.. read more

When the server came around she was friendly and helpful which I loved I thought damn this is going to be an amazing dinner. When we first sat down they where quick to take our order and get our drinks... but as soon as our food was served we waited and waited for drink refills and she seldom came around, and beacuse of the lack of them coming around never did get the chance to order desert before deciding it was just time to leave. very disappointing as desert sounded amazing, (Yummy red velvet cream cheese cake). I wish I could give a big fat zero star for this place! We first visited shortly after they opened and were so turned off by the utter lack or service and sub standard quality of food we vowed never to return. We were invited out to dinner by friends that chose this place and even though we vowed never to return we figured things must have changed in the year plus since we were last there. Boy were we wrong!!!! They were not busy (maybe 3 tables for our server) yet our server was not to be found. The food took forever and was barely average tasting. I guess the food took so long because they had to place hair in it before serving it to our table! After 15 min of trying to get the attention of our server to inform her of the add on to our dish her only response was "oh, ummm, ya... so do you want another?". No thank you!!! We even had to ask to have it removed from the bill since there were only 3-4 bites eaten. Simply hopeless is the only way to describe this place. I feel bad for anyone staying at the hotel and having that place as a choice. Save yourself the hair and go to McD's or ABC down the street! read more

He only ate a bit of it and we complained, the server said the kitchen is sour when they ring in medium rare steaks..... There was a group of 15 drunk individuals that were screaming expletives and sexual references every 20 seconds for the entire duration of our meal. The waitress / management failed to control the party and instead continued to serve them alcohol. I observed multiple parties leave disgusted with their experience. This is one of my favorite spots. They renovated and updated the menu fairly recently and it's great. We used to come regularly to play darts and pool. Food is still great, you MUST try the pulled pork nachos. We were pretty disappointed tonight though about the dart board being removed and there were only two cues with barely any tips and the rest had no tips. There was also no chalk! It was annoying to pay for that. They used to have a beautiful drink menu book with nice pictures of the drinks but they switched it for a laminated page with no pictures. So, if you only want food and atmosphere it is nice but don't expect any games entertainment. Seems harder and harder to come by. If anyone knows of a spot around Langley with pool and darts drop me a message. I should mention that there is a beautiful patio and great service as well. read more

We came into our hotel (next door) rather late and were starving. We weren't too familiar with the area so we decided to check it out. Prior to coming here, I read the Yelp reviews and wasn't too thrilled about it. We were promptly greeted and sat at a table. The waitress was very friendly, but she seemed overwhelmed by the amount of tables she was serving, which in return made the waiting times a lot longer for food. Why is that a problem? Because our appetizers came out cold. The portions were big, but no good if they're cold. Our dinners followed afterwards, but we were at the point where we just wanted to leave already because we were so tired from being there waiting on our food. Loveeee fox & fiddle! Their service is always good and if there's ever any issues management is amazing and always very helpful. They are always trying to bring in new items which is nice. I love the vibe of the pub as well. You can go there for a nice night out as a date night or with friends for drinks! I've been a regular for years now and I still recommend fox to everyone! It's a bit of a drive for me as I live in north surrey but worth the drive! I've gone in with my fiancé to just munch on food and brainstorm for our upcoming wedding! Terrible food, 1st ordered the dry ribs. The menu said the were ribs with salt and pepper. Out comes bits of chewy beef, breaded... didn't mention it was deep fried and breaded. Chewy deep fried meat with no bone so I'm no sure how it is called ribs? Also ordered the Jack Daniels steak, medium, it was not Just over cooked I couldn't have a single bite without having spit it out it was so chewy! They must freeze everything! The beer was cold but expensive compared with other pubs that I've been to. The service was good however DO NOT go to the F and F if you're looking for decent wings or ribs .... go elsewhere! Decent Food, Nice Decor...if you can, sit in the area where the Male server is working. Otherwise it might be a little slow. Wednesdays are half price chicken wings, although, they don't have "per wing" pricing, just "per pound". Of the lower mainland pubs, they have some of the better wings. I must've jinxed myself with that last review because the service was terrible this time. It was 4:50 on a Saturday and the restaurant wasn't that busy. We had a table for 4 but the other two weren't coming until later so we planned on eating first. Our waitress got us waters and walked away and ignored the table for at least a solid 20 minutes. My boyfriend tried waving ANY server down but they only seemed interested in the tables closer to the bar. Finally he got the attention of a random server who happened to be close by. I came to The Fox and the fiddle for a nice meal and left completely unsatisfied and disgusted. I too had the Guineas pot pie and took one bite and was disappointed. It tasted prepackaged..warmed up with a filo type top that was not fresh at all. Could not cut through it without destroying my dish. If you are looking to die come to this place. I have a mushroom allergy that i told them about and they decided to neglect this fact and put mushrooms on my dish anyways. Usually i would not be mad as this is a pretty common thing, but when i asked them to make me a new dish due to my allergy; they took my plate to the back and simply scraped most of the mushrooms off of my plate and bring it back.
