Huge selection in menu. Fair prices for the quality and portion size. French onion soup was 11/10 better than my main course which was crispy chicken sandwich , just a little too plain for me but my fault for ordering. It is super dark inside , if you want a little lighter there is the smoking patio , or a couple booths at the front were lighter. Food is good and atmosphere fun. Server's friendly, and excellent music. Only bad point is management is incapable of handling customer service politely. So if you need help with something requiring management ~ be ready for rude and impatient behaviour. Decent but slightly pricey pub just oustide downtown Abbotsford. Parking is available in front, as well as behind the building. Wasn't sure what to expect to be honest. The place burned down a few years ago (2017?) so I wasn't sure if it was under the same ownership etc. With that said, they sure did a good job fixing up the place. Everything looks new and modern and classy. Besides the L-shaped main dining area, there is also an upstairs dining area (closed when we went) as well as a nice outdoor patio along the N side of the building, complete with nice fancy gas fireplaces and all. Worth checking out during the summer months. Staff were were friendly. No complaints there. The Lou's Original burger I had wasn't really a burger. It was more of a half sub (think of something like beef dip). The price was a bit higher than I expected, but the fixings were all there. Lettuce, tomato, nice melty cheese, bacon, a few mushrooms, and red onions. I was happy. The fries were pretty tasty too, and there was a decent portion. Definitely worth a return visit at some point. read more

Really liked the food. Staff were not uptight even though they were extremely busy. My only complaint is based on my old fashioned... if you say it has a Luxardo cherry in the drink, there should be a cherry in the drink. The food is fantastic, I've had steak, burgers, and wings during different visits and I have not been disappointed. There are numerous tvs so you can keep up on the latest game. Dim Sum Appy Steamed with MOLD and MOUSE POO. I took my children here for a snack yesterday afternoon and was horrified to find mouse poo and mold on the top of the bamboo steamer the dim sum came in.... after we ATE it!!! YES! My family and I first went to Lou's Grill recently and were very impressed. Although the restaurant was very busy, the carpark was full, there were staff everywhere and no wait time to get seated and order drinks. The menu is typical American Bar food, and I opted for a club sandwich which was (almost) too large for me. Three slices of fresh wholegrain bread, generous slices of chicken breast and avocado. All the ingredients were fresh. That was served with a very large portion of fries which are thick cut and also good quality. You'll find a modern interior that looks recently refurbished and looks sort of a like a night club. Everything was nicely spaced out and comfortable though. The servers are notably efficient and very friendly. My family were delighted with our lunch and look forward to our next visit. read more

I've always wanted to try this place ever since I lived in Abbotsford over 20 years ago. Sadly I didn't then but sure glad to try it recently. The burger connoisseur that I aspire to be, we both went for that dish and were not at all disappointed! The mushrooms on top were so delicious as was the bacon and hearty beef burger. The fries were great and the gravy was mouthwatering so that I wanted to drink it! It has been many years since we've been to Lou's Grill. After our last visit there I can understand why. Since the new covid restrictions imposed banning dining inside at restaurants Lou's Grill is one of the few restaurants in our area with a heated outdoor patio. They do not take reservations. When you arrive you give your name to the hostess and she will send you a text when your table is ready. They have both a smoking and non-smoking patio. I thought smoking was not allowed at restaurants anymore but Lou's Grill does have a smoking patio. We were assigned a non-smoking table as requested on the upstairs patio after a 15 minute wait. There is a 2 hour time limit right now. The service was decent. It wasn't great but the wait staff was kept pretty busy. We shared an order of chicken wings with sweet chili Thai sauce and they were very good. For entrees my husband had a 1/2 rack of spare ribs and I had a 6 oz. steak. Both of our entrees were tasteless and totally lacking in flavour. My steak was also very tough. It was very disappointing. We felt that for the quality of the food it was overpriced. I doubt that we would go back to Lou's. We do enjoy dining out but until we're able to dine inside at restaurants we're probably better off to do takeout until the restrictions are lifted. read more

Was here for a birthday dinner with friends. I was pretty disappointed with a few things. First of all, I joined the group about 5 minutes after the rest of the party. No drink was offered for at least 10 minutes. We actually had to flag the waitress down to order my drink. The waitress did not offer to take any appetizer orders while we were waiting for everyone to arrive. Once again, we had to flag her down to order our dinners as well as drinks for the newcomers. It was over 45 minutes until we ordered our dinner. I had looked at the menu beforehand but was disappointed to hear that my steak could not be cooked the way I wanted, even though the website does say. I ordered a green salad to start and was served a bowl of lettuce...just lettuce. My steak was cooked well but not seasoned at all and not rested correctly. The spot we were sitting at was near the door to the outdoor seating. The door was constantly opening so we were very cold. The restaurant was very busy, so it was loud and the ambient music, which actually increased in volume, making it almost impossible to hear the person across the table. Our meals came quickly, but the serving staff had no idea who had ordered what (seat numbers needed!!!) . The guy beside me had his diet coke refilled twice without asking, and before he was finished the last one, I had to ask for my refill after it had been empty for a while. All in all, my experience tonight did not make we want to return. read more

We had two appys the scallops wrapped in bacon were amazing wish they gave a few more But would have them again for sure. The calamari was also very good. Light and crispy. My hubby had the steak sandwich and said it was really good. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich it was super good chicken was fresh and juicy. It wAs Huge had to take half of it home. The sangria was also very tasty. My gf had the margarita and said she will be back on a Monday to enjoy a few more. lol. Highly recommend Lou's read more

Had a weekend lunch here recently, service was quick and attentive albeit a little disorganized. The hostess seated us (baby included!) right next to the bar, a very busy area which is fine for my family (baby is an angel, I swear) but probably not the best idea in a general sense. Besides it being loud, one of the servers dropped an entire jug of mix drink behind me...scared the shit out of me and the splatter got my left rear side torso and leg. No apologies offered, even though they could see my reaction. I'm a happy go lucky guy and understand accidents happen, but you should at least show some concern when it directly affects the customer. As mentioned earlier, our server (not the drink dropper) was great, she asked about the baby and answered our menu questions, plus was quick to fill up coffee and water. The food was good but not great, the Crispy Applewood Smoked Chicken Sandwich was WAY better than the Prime Rib Beef Dip. The Au Jus that accompanied the Beef Dip was great, but the meat was chopped into almost ground...it made me think it might not have been AAA Shaved Prime Rib as was advertised. Luckily, my wife took pity on me and we split the handhelds, hence why I can attest to the Chicken Sandwich being awesome. French Fries and Salad sides were prefect, even had a side of gravy that was tasty AF. I'd go back for sure, but it's not like I'm beating down the door to eat here again. read more

A surprising find! At first I thought the price was a bit steep for the location however the food was quite good and the portions were huge. The staff were nice and on the ball. Just note that the patio is smoke-friendly so if the smell bothers you, opt to sit inside instead. Found this little gem of a bar while I was coming back with some friends out in hope today from a hike. We chose this place because there was so many people who have posted reviews and check in and sign the food here is excellent and pricing is really good. Actually if you are able to time is the happy hour is a really good deal because appetizers are 30% off which is amazing. What I also like about this location is the car inside. It is a little dark inside but it's certainly sets the ambience very nicely. The chairs are deep and comfortable and all around the location you see various Group of Seven replica paintings on the walls which I thought was a very nice touch. The only downside have there is one for this location is that parking can be really limited because of how good the food is. Obviously this is a popular place for the locals and it's not that far off the from the Trans Canada Highway either. read more

We has scallops and bacon that comes with garlic bread and NY Stake to share. Scallops were smaller then I expected but very delicious! NY was good and it came with lots of vegetables, which I liked. Service needs improved for sure. Most servers are young girls so they need to learn a lot. We had no water until we asked for it. Place looks really nice since the refurbishment after the fire, I absolutely love the decor. We went in on a super busy cold Wednesday night. In spite of it being busy for a Wednesday night, the service was prompt and the food came out really quickly. My daughter and I shared a Cajun salmon burger with Caesar salad and an order of their calamari. We're both pescatarian and had to special-order the Caesar salad without bacon bits. It's common to have problems when you special order things, but there was no problems and I really did enjoy the Caesar salad with Crispy Capers on Top. This salad dressing had some horseradish in it which I thought was quite delicious... Risky changing the recipe of a ubiquitous dish like Caesar salad, but it did pay off for them. The Cajun salmon burger was made with sockeye salmon which is always wild, and was absolutely delicious with two big pieces of avocado and an excellent version of chutney. One can never go wrong with a brioche bun. I like the fact that they didn't charge extra for a caesar salad. The two dishes came to a mere $33 which is quite a bargain for the amount of food that we were served as the portions were quite large. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Having reflected upon some of the other reviews, I think that they must have sorted their reopening issues out. read more

Pleasantly surprised with Lou's on a Sunday with some great specials. 3.75 local pints including Parallel 49 and Phillips which is nice. Note that the pints aren't actually pints but are more like sleeves that aren't quite filled all the way. Would be sort of miffed at full price but no problem at 3.75 Possibly the best lobster mac and cheese I've ever had. Sounds crazy, but you really have to try it. It's an enormous portion considering it's just a side dish. The blue cheese burger was near perfect with excellent proportions and good ingredients. The Philly cheese was massive and had great toppings. Loved the roast potatoes side Prices are very reasonable and service is prompt. The Sunday specials were great. Minus one star for allowing smoking on the patio and underfilling a sleeve (and calling it a pint. We are in Canada, people! A pint is 500ml!) read more

Here's a tip...have your servers bring out all the meals at the same time please! There's nothing worse than waiting with your friends / family for their meals to arrive after you received yours first. Same applies with drinks. I don't understand why a pint of Stella takes longer to serve than a couple of ceasers when all ordered at the same time. And spilling a cold beer all over a woman is just not cool! Poor girl!
