Decided to try this place as it's nearby and first impression was concerning as it was not busy but they were also renovating the patio. The afternoon server was funny and very friendly. The younger server we had later was ok but not very attentive and not as personable. We took the first servers advice and decided to try the chicken burger and fish n chips. The food was fresh and delish plus reasonably priced. We will definitely go back to check out the new patio and some other menu items. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant through 3 owners... we haven't continued coming back for the food because it doesn't seem to improve... it's a hit and miss menu... it's not for the service... because even the staff is hit and miss with who serves you ..... the actual feeling in the place is always changing as they have just started a new renovation... you can make a place look amazing but without good food and service it's still just a building with pretty covering.... Tonight food came on the plate cold, some didn't even show up, some came over cooked, some we had to ask for or go and remind them to bring, some just took far too long to come..... just was a wash out once again.... Basically we come to spend time with good friends and catch up with what we have been up to .... Hopefully one day they'll catch on what's wrong here... read more

This is not only a great brunch location, it's great for a weekday lunch or dinner. The French toast cheesecake is wonderful and the eggs benny was done perfectly. I have also tried their omelet (they will also custom make one). For lunch, their spicy calamari is great and the prime rib beef dip is tasty and generous. A relaxing environment, tables are well spaced inside and there is an outdoor patio. Staff are friendly and efficient. Good service and food was delivered promptly. It was Robbie Burns night at Bob's Bar so it was very loud. They were walking the haggis around the room when we arrived. The restaurant is larger than it appears from the road and it was full when we were there with many regular customers. The restaurant has 3 separate dining areas and we were seated in the front room near the bar. The table the server gave us initially was so dark that I couldn't read the menu so I moved to another table. The service was very good. Although they were very busy our server was cheerful and checked on us regularly during the evening. We weren't too hungry so we decided to share appetizers instead of having entrees. The appetizers we chose were - bruschetta, flourless chicken wings and prawns in a Cajun garlic sauce. We found the food very disappointing. The bruschetta was okay but it could have used fresh basil instead of the pesto sauce which did not have much flavour. The chicken wings were dry, definitely way overcooked. I did not like the sauce on the prawns. It had a very strong, musty taste to it and was not nice and spicy like I would have expected a Cajun sauce to be. I wouldn't return as I did not like any of the appetizers that we ordered. read more

Ordered DoorDash, delivery was good as for the rubber brisket ( could hardly stab it with a fork ) and the extra salty ribs ... no ketchup in the bag for the fries .... Cool location - and atmosphere was good,, Felt like more of a pub at dinning room prices, It really felt like the attempt to create a dinning room environment and it hasn't succeeded, Otherwise the food - I had the top burger and it had great taste ! the fries were homemade and hot - highly recommended, my GF had Pasta Alfredo - it looked ok - but for the price very little meat - throw a full breast on there - it's all about the food. She liked it but agreed about the "lack of", and extemely garlicy if you enjoy that. Wait staff were good and very friendly.. Stopped in for lunch (Sunday afternoon). On our way in the single waitress said to sit where we want and she'd find us. At first sat outside, waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order, said not yet, but put in the kids order. Because of the bees we moved inside, she came and asked us if we were ready, at this point we had to request water for the table, for whatever reason it wasn't an automatic thing or ever offered. Put in the food, she never wrote anything down but got every customized order right which was nice. My biggest issue was she was the lone waitress... literally the only employee besides the kitchen on a weekend day and she got way flustered. Sighed when people came through the door, dropped an f bomb on the way past our table, she was just freaking out. I've never felt like such a burden at a restaurant, which is really a bummer because she was actually a super nice gal. It was so slow (NOT her fault at all, staffing issue) that's two parties, one after having to retrieve their own menus, got up and walked out. She eventually called someone on the phone for help and her demeanor drastically improved when help came. She cleared our table and didn't bring our bill for 20 mins, we actually got up and made our way to the register to wait for her. Menu has solid options. Food was ok. May go back, but I'd hope they staff accordingly in the future. read more

Steaks cooked perfectly. That by itself is something that's hard to find! Amazing and fun server (Angela). Nothing super fancy but a really great meal at a really great price. My friends and I stopped at Bob's after a bike race on the way back to the city. We were looking for a beer and a burger, and that's what we found. Bob's has a big dining room with fun old-timey music decorations and flatscreens playing whatever sports they can find. apparently there's live music some nights, but we were there on a sunday afternoon, so no dice. the service was very friendly, the beers were cold, and the burgers were warm, fresh and tasty. I'm not a ketchup guy on my fries, and the staff went out of their way to bring 2 kinds of mustard for me. The kitchen is a bit slow, so give yourself a bit longer than you expect. Honest food and great service at a reasonable price. I will stop here again the next time i'm in Aldergrove. read more

Ive only been here once and my experience was not good and I will never come back to this place. When we got to Bob's there were no other customers in the place so there were lots of empty tables and the table she put us was right by the door were the employees come in and out to the back, and on the wall was a huge cookoo clock that sticks so far out that if you sit beside it you are leaning so you don't hit your head on the clock. I ordered the mushroom burger with a pop. The pop was a cheap generic kind, which was so gross. My mushroom burger came and I had a bite of my burger and it was so gross, the mushrooms tasted like vinegar. So vinegary. Not to mention the meat was gross too. I couldn't eat my burger. I came here to try their fish and chips special that I had heard about. The service was incredible. From the time I walked in the door, I was sold, not just informed about how good the fish and chips were. The server explained the various menu options to me, gave me time to consider what beverage I wanted and checked back repeatedly to see if there was anything else I needed. What used to be a contender on the best burgers in the Valley, last nights was a big disappointment. No flavour maybe 3 mushrooms on a bun i could not cut through with a steak knife. Just passing through after a day at the pool. Looked ok from the outside so decided to go in. I'm not much into bar and grill, so was pleasantly surprised to see some other options. We ordered mussels to start, divine. I had the red snapper and the misses had the seafood pasta ( I can't remember the names on the menu) and the food was delicious! I have spent more at the Boathouse for lesser food, I honestly enjoyed my dish here more. The ambience my not not be as nice as a fancy restaurant but the food is. There is nothing I love more than beer and burgers from a side of the road diner. I feel my most comfortable in these friendly, non-pretentious areas of the world. I like the dark wood and the kitschy wall ornaments. It also does not hurt that their burgers come homemade, slightly charred on the outside and juicy inside, served up old school, with fries and bacon. Damn, it was good, really really good. And it was brought to our table, by a lovely good humored waitress called Dawna, with a w. We just moved to aldergrove yesterday and needed something for dinner other than fast food. So we tried Bobs. I fell in love with the food! I got a new York steak and it was cooked to perfection! I really love this place. We moved to Aldergrove two years ago and kept avoiding coming here because of all the bad reviews, so if you're reading this, trust me- it's worth checking out! My boyfriend loves the ribs here, I always get the veggie burger and it's one of the best I've had. The fries are great, service is always good, and the wine list makes me happy. This is our new favorite. We're already planning on bringing more people back here. We are coming back to experience the patio. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in how could place be so big but look so small. We both felt the decor was warm, comfortable and inviting. I encouraged my husband to try the pork belly he is so glad he did. I had the Saturday special, prime rib, I was not overly impressed, my cut was dry and well done.
