Walked in for my birthday week celebration with girlfriends and the place was packed . Screens for social distancing and sanitizer for cleaning was offered . The view is amazing and the food is delicious. We couldn't try a lot of things on the menu as we had stuffed ourselves with ice cream already. Had Cesar salad and salmon flatbread . Both were delicious. I may dream about that flaky flatbread topped with pesto and the delicate salmon on top. Oh my that was smashing! We also had some beers and the total was around 75$. A group of us dropped into Five for some oysters. Five offers a covered outdoor seating area than can be utilized in the sunshine or rain. Indoors is aesthetically pleasing. Our group sat in the lounge area during our visit. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. I had a Fat Tug IPA for $7.95 and my daughter had a Jolly Rancher for $7.50 while we looked over the menu. My daughter opted for the Fresh Shucked Oysters for $3.25 each. She ordered one of each oyster showcased for the day. The condiments, fresh grated horseradish and tobiko were all excellent. My daughter loved her oysters; however she states that the PNW still has the best oysters. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller (qty 4) for $19: blue cheese, cream sauce, garlic, shallots and spinach. Luscious and rich. Oysters take some time to shuck so be patient with the staff. Staff members were friendly and extremely helpful. Tabs were easily and accurately split. read more

Five is a gem hidden by a very unassuming facade. It looks a bit rustic at first glance but you'll notice that when you go by it is always busy. This speaks to the service and food. The decor is simple and the staff is pleasant. But the food is absolutely incredibly delicious! I was there for my birthday and had the lobster ravioli, to die for is all I can say. Make sure you go with an appetite the portions are good and filling. My friend had the mussels which were also delicious, we're never disappointed. Bon appetit! read more

Oh boy, this place is real expensive. Well, maybe everything in the area is, I'm not sure. I haven't eaten around here before. The server was pleasant, but gosh those prices. The lobster bisque was very basic. The lemongrass muscles had okay broth but they were a bit sandy. There is NO free bread. The drinks are the most basic pre-mixes. Anyhow it was $175 to still be hungry, which is pretty wild. So basically, if you have the money to burn... well why not find a better than mediocre place? read more

3 star food! 3 star service! Go in with those expectations and you won't be disappointed. I had the daily feature which was halibut, expensive but halibut usually is. I just couldn't tell if it was over cooked or frozen. Flavours in the sauce were nice. Mashed potato's were good flavour wise but sadly a little cold. Nice view! Went for linguine and clams as a take out. I called and asked if they were not canned clams, but flash frozen was ok. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they were fresh in the shell. The lobster Benny and fish cake Benny were so delicious. It was so fresh and the hollandaise sauce was just right and not heavy. The potatoes were nicely boiled then baked. They definitely have the view of the water and some good quality food in their favor here. I had the steamed mussels and clam pot and my wife had the fishcakes, halibut. I believe it was. Excellent flavor. Their beer however, called fuzzy or dizzy or something like that i was not quite that impressive, a bit stale tasting. Prices are high, and portions are moderate. I asked for two extra small pieces of bread to deal with the broth at the end of my shellfish pot, and long after the broth had gone cold I was brought the two small pieces for which a charge appeared on my bill. Went to Five with friends on the weekend. If you are not a seafood eater, go elsewhere, as the options are very limited. Food was okay, not what you would expect for a seafood restaurant on the West Coast. Prices are extremely high for what you get and service was okay. The only problem with this place is that there are too many great looking dishes to choose from. I settled on the Clam & Mussel Pot. It was incredibly tasty - one of the best I've had. Also, it was filling. You generally don't get enough, but I'm full. Great ambiance. I actually chose to sit at the bar rather than look into the ocean. Who doesn't like to stare into lobster tanks. I got there steak and frites-- it was really good but the steak was just a tad bit salty for me My friend got their Lobster Ravioli that comes with a Blue Cheese cream sauce--however she isn't a fan of blue cheese but the chef was kind enough to make a Garlic butter sauce to go with it instead! The Five is a bit of a dive right across from the pier. Other than the outside seats it is dark, and less than inviting. The Owner is a Grouch. A bit bored and not attentive at all. His staff are fabulous. The food is very good. Especially the White Wine Clams and Mussels. FABULOUS. Best ever. Yes. i recommend it but just stay clear of the Owner. read more

The food is definitely delicious. The drinks were great. But the bathroom!! Ugh. Here you are dining in this nice restaurant, and then you enter this freezing cold bathroom that looks like it belongs in a fast food joint: helping paint, rust, doors not straight on the hinges, old sinks. Great food & service on a weekend evening. Server was attentive & great with check-in's. The sangria was delicious on a Sunday day. You get a view of the ocean which is always a bonus. Inside is beach house decor. You get a basket of bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar with dinner. Spanish paella was really good with enough for left overs... had big scallops, a prawn, and bits of chicken, chorizo, mussels and clams in it. This place was amazing! It was my first time going and we will for sure be back. Delicious food, great wine, and a beautiful view. What more can a person ask for! My bf had the lobster ravioli which was amazing (I'm planning on getting this next time) and I had the seafood linguine. The ONLY thing was that my pasta was very runny but it also had clams and mussels so that might've been why. Either way, still delicious and we will be going back for sure! read more

Had dinner here for the first time.. seems like a new restaurant! The layout is very beautiful Pinterest like. Love that it is in front of the pier however it's currently broken.. the menu is average to slightly pricey but everything we had was delicious! The condiments for the oysters were amazing and they give you a lot of options. Oysters were very fresh and smelt good! I know Caesar salad is such an easy dish but they nailed it with the perfect amount of garlic and pepper in the dressing and best party light crunchy croutons! Really enjoyed the ahi tuna with risotto and the seafood fettuccini both such amazing meals! Topped it off with a creme brûlée for dessert just WOW! The dish the creme brûlée was served in a unique bowl perfect to share between two people. I wouldn't bring kids here but perfect for a date night! read more

I'm being generous and giving Five four stars; it's more a 3.5. The premium is definitely for the view and not for the quality of the food. I have no complaints about the service. The servers were friendly and helped us navigate our stroller through the restaurant to be seated. Our food was served quickly, although we did go there for an early dinner, so I'm not sure if this is usually the case since the servers seemed to be covering quite a few tables. My husband loves calamari, so we usually order this as an appetizer whenever it's on the menu. I liked the lightly breaded rings, but the seasoning was not evenly spread as my first bite was overly salty. We also got a dozen of the kusshi oysters, which were fresh and crisp. It was my first time having raw oysters since my pregnancy, so I was relieved that it was not an disappointment. I also liked the addition of roe to the usual horseradish. I ordered the seafood hot pot for my entree. I quite liked the flavor of the stew. Most of the ingredients were cooked well except the fish, which was a bit overcooked. I tried a bite of my mom's seafood linguine, which was way too salty. My MIL had the fish and chips, which had a good crunch and tender fillet. The biggest waste of money was the prime rib poutine. The poutine cooled down very quickly, so it became a congealed mess on top of some almost burnt fries. Points to the restaurant for having a baby changing table in the handicap washroom. I've been here a few times over the years and it's been consistently good however the reason I won't give it 4 stars is because the dinner portions I find small and the appetizers are way overly priced. I mean like I've said before it's the white rock beach strip and things are more expensive but $22.00 for crab cakes or $29.00 for a charcuterie board (which I've had in the past) is just a little high Today I ordered the crab cakes and jumbo prawns as well as a glass of Red sangria. The red sangria was great. I love the crushed ice in the glass. The jumbo prawns were FRESH and delicious. The crab cakes were good , nothing outstanding - I've had better. I will say I really enjoy how this place serves bread with balsamic and olive oil as their house bread for free. I've also had their Lobster ravioli on a different occasion and it was amazing just not enough food for me. Over all I would recommend going here over anywhere at the beach in less you want Japanese because at 5 doors down the food is fresh, clean and cooked properly it's just on the pricey side!! $$$$ read more
