We were in Abbotsford for a sports event, and we wanted to grab some dinner. I was browsing OpenTable, and saw that Restaurant 62 had a nice looking menu and good reviews, so we gave it a try. We arrived in time for our reservation, and the dining area looked nice enough. We were immediately seated, but unfortunately, it was a by a very large party, so we found it difficult to talk to each most of the night. We tried the following: - Pacific Octopus: OK. The octopus was a bit chewy, which means it was probably overcooked. I found the addition of the lamb merguez, although tasted fine, a bit confusing. I felt the dish had too many ingredients, and it muddled the flavours. - Beef Tagliatelle: OK. Well cooked, but didn't really like the five spice or the sweetness of the dish. - Smoke Pork Chop: OK. The pork was a bit overcooked, and the jus was far too salty. Service was satisfactory. We had no issues. Overall, it wasn't great. Maybe my expectations were too high. I often find hidden gems during my travels, and was hoping this would be one of them, but it wasn't. I appreciate the effort in designing their dishes, but I generally felt they were too complicated and too salty overall. read more

Beautiful restaurant with amazing service. I probably had too high of expectations as this is a fine dining option in Abbotsford but for me there were just some strange flavour combinations, in particular the sea scallops with the braised beetroot; they just didn't seem like a good combination. My gnocchi was also some of the saltiest I've ever had and I really love gnocchi too. All in all for the price and what we got, I'd say this fell short of my expectations. read more

I haven't been to this restaurant in 11 years when it was in the other location. The new location is bright & modern and somewhere I would definetly love to come with friends both dressed up or casual. The vibe was great and as it was a special occassion we treated ourself to everything! The porkbelly appetizer was amazing I could have had that all night. I had the gnocchi dinner which was perfect, and the dessert was just as great. I don't very often give 5 starts but this was definetly a 5 start night. I will be back - much sooner this time! read more

This place is two restaurants in one. One restaurant has ok dishes for the regular who love the old standbys. The food is fine, as it should be at this price point, but not really worth going out your way for either, given the price. The other restaurant has has a rotation of seasonal dishes that tend to be very good. I wouldn't make the trip down here from Vancouver for the first restaurant, but I would for the second. I'm oversimplifying here since, if you get one of the standard dishes here, like the ribs, the ribs will be fine and they'll come with a selection of seasonable vegetables that are likely to be very good. But, why not just skip the fine ribs and order the dishes that are really outstanding here? BTW, if you care about covid safety, this place isn't great. The "outdoor" area is fully enclosed and not really different from being inside. read more

Pretty restaurant, mostly tasty food, over priced, small portions, slow service, server dropping F bombs, food poisoning... $213 for appys, entrees, desserts, two drinks in total, 2 people. Sable fish was raw in the center, fried octopus/fish ball was raw in the center, potato side was raw. I don't think their "A Team" was cooking 15 Feb 24. Won't be back. read more

Ate here before a concert at Abbotsford Centre, and it was amazing! We had a group of six, and the server understood our timeline to get to the concert. The bill was split without any problem. Overall, great service. There is very little waiting area and only two metal stools at a very small bar, so don't get there too early for your reservation!! We did take advantage of those metal stools - not the most comfortable, but allowed us to have a drink and a chat with the nice bartender (good advice on concert logistics) before dinner. Hubby and I split the octopus appetizer, and it was terrific! Next time we will have to get 2 orders! The octopus was nice and tender with a hint of char. Perfectly cooked! Then we both had the lingcod entree. Beautifully presented! Both of us enjoyed it very much! Others had the brisket special and raved over it. Not a huge beer selection, but they had one of each style. We hat the local Fieldhouse Salted Porter and a Four Winds IPA. Nice wine selection reported by our wine officianado friends. We will definitely return! It's a little hard to find, and don't let the outside fool you. Plenty of free parking at the rear of the building. read more

We had some business in Abbotsford and were pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful restaurant within 5 minutes of our visit. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants around the world including some with Michelin star chefs. The food at restaurant 62 was absolutely delicious. We had pork belly, shortribs, and duck. Finished with a malt crème brûle. Everything all prepared perfectly and the vegetables were very fresh and tasty. The fresh warm bread was a nice touch as well. And the service was really good We will definitely be back! read more

Technically great food but lacking passion. Nothing was wrong but nothing was great. For the price point I thought one of our four plates would be a standout. Middle of the road. read more

love the modern restaurant , and the rooms spaced in areas away from each room but smoothly planned. service was most excellent, and drinks were inviting as we were celebrating our anniversary.... so ordered the filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked and taste...like I haven't had in years! Appes' were homemade gyoza and pasta dish with accompaniments, so delicious and fresh! chickpea hummus perfect flavour with warm sourdough. Awesome! Going with a group is my next venture, where can you go now for housemade food that's wholesome prepared by a chef? Had me at fresh/homemade! read more

This was the best dining experience I have had in a while. Honestly I was expecting it to be a bit pretentious but it absolutely wasn't. The food not only looks good it tastes good. There wasn't a single thing I disliked. The price probably was a bit expensive next to like White Spot or something but I guess we're kind of used to spending this much in other restaurants anyway. So for the quality we got it just made sense to me. I mean I liked the steak more than the one we got at the Keg which was also a fantastic steak. And my asparagus was grilled to perfection. The potato with the steak was nearly cut into little medallions so that we could easily eat it but it still held the shape. I dunno these might be superfluous details to you, but for me they added to the presentation. The atmosphere was nice. Not too loud or bright or dark. We were seated immediately and the staff were very on the ball. Orders came out quite quickly in fact, which surprised me. My husband asked for something not specifically offered as a digestif on the menu but they had it. 5/5 we really enjoyed it. We will come back again. read more

Restaurant 62 offers what many restaurants in Abbotsford cannot, upscale dining. They have a small menu, but it changes from time to time. And they also have features. The best thing that we had on the menu was probably our appetizer and drinks. We loved the chickpea spread (hummus) and warmed bread and drinks. I ordered the Ginger Hippie cocktail, and my boyfriend got the Alexander Eggnog, they both were delicious. Our entrees on the other hand missed the mark, they were tasty don't get me wrong and presentation was there, but they were lacking in flavour. I ordered the feature Arctic Char fish, and there was just a lack of flavour. The skin had a crispy sear to it but I personally don't eat it so the rest of it was lacking in texture and flavour. It came with nugget potatoes and seasonal root vegetables which were nice, but I wish I had more sauce. My boyfriend ordered the pork chop, it's presentation again was amazing. There's was just a lack of flavour present within the meat. The portion sizes are great. You just have higher expectations for what you're paying for when it comes to flavour. Out nephews had Mac and cheese that they loved. We also had the sticky toffee pudding, it was kind of like a bread pudding mix with carrot cake dessert. read more

I used to like this place a lot however I think the food and the ambience is a bit outdated. We went there in summer time and the dishes were too wintery. We order three different meat dishes and all seemed to have the same dull wine sauce as a base. I'm very positive the chef / owner has a lot of potential to create new items with a fresher and perhaps simpler perspective. Maybe incorporate a bit of ethnic inspired influences to be incorporated into his current menu. I want to wish Restaurant 62 the best of lucks and look forward to come back and find a delightful surprises and a brighter atmosphere in my next visit read more

Too expensive and gearing to drinkers. Portions are small and unsatisfying. There are lots of good restaurants in Abbotsford. This isn't one of them. It is very cramped and uncomfortable too. read more

Tried out this place just Last week, and it's one of the only few upscale dining places in Abbotsford. They are a farm to table restaurant, and the menu selection is pretty great. Except vegetarian and vegan options which is why I had to give a four star review instead of all the stars. The one vegetarian pasta dish that they did have, was not good at all so that was very disappointing. I definitely will be back, since I enjoyed the appetizer which was the risotto and scallops and the main dish I had was Duck. They were honestly really well done in both presentation and taste and so it was definitely a bummer that the vegetarian pasta fell through. Also for dessert we ordered the crème brûlée, which was also a perfect light and smooth ending. I look forward to coming back to restaurant 62! read more

This place is my new favorite restaurant for special occasions! We go here every birthday pr anniversary now. The food is always amazing and inspired as they use local ingredients so the menu is updated often. The price is comparable to the keg but the quality is much better if you want an intimate unique dining experience. Last time we went we ordered a delicious appy with assorted meats, cheese and a pate with walnuts it was outstanding worth every penny! We also order the chickpea mash to eat with the complementary bread every time it's so good! For dinner I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies which I've had before and it's always super moist chicken and delicious flavor. My fiance got fish with a white bean bacon ragout which was also super tasty. I recommend this place to people all the time, it sure is a hidden gem! read more

It is HIGHEND food at a pub price... Best selection of spirits and beer and oh yes the grape nectar Why did I wait so long...?? I am disappointed in myself for not going sooner Don't be crazy and miss this experience and well they make this chick pea spread...no not humus it is the best thing you will ever put on homemade bread.. We were in town for a visit and were looking through reviews and had settled on the bow and stern or something like that and since it was a Friday I called to see if we could make a reservation. 150 calls later with a busy signal and we decided to try this place and I'm glad we did. We had appetizers and dinner and wine and all was very tasty. My wife had a salad special and the halibut both of which she loved but she said that the portion was a bit small on the halibut. I had a gnocchi with duck ragu appetizer and the cioppino both of which were excellent. Would highly recommend. read more

Being invited by some friends to this restaurant, we went on a Sunday evening. I enjoyed the fact that it was small and cozy, compared to an Earl's or Cactus Club or other chain. Plus it was not in a busy part of town and parking was easy. The menu was fun and we spent quite awhile trying to guess what a lot of the sides were. We eventually had to ask for help and our waiter was knowledgeable. We shared some salads to start, plus some warm fresh bread and hummus dip. They even brought some fresh rye gluten free bread for my wife, which she loved. The meals are not your stereotypical meat, potatoes and veggies. Ingredients are fresh, local and many unique sides, so it is definitely a gastronomic experience. We were quite surprised to find this type of food at this restaurant in Abbotsford. Again, the menu items are not your usual...but include pork belly, duck, rabbit, etc. Quantities were not a problem. We kept dessert light, with some chocolate crème brulé, orange ricotta sherbet and specialty ice creams. Service was good, the restaurant was very quiet and not that busy. No issues for hearing our conversation. We were the only customers in the restaurant when we left. It was a lovely dinner and evening. I would definitely return. There were many other dishes we would like to try! read more

When my friend wanted me to come out to Abbotsford for dinner, I was feeling pretty glum. "Can you ask around and see if anyone knows a good place to eat out there," I begged (not feeling hopeful). I thought if I could get a Cactus Club or Earls level thing I could survive. Well. Restaurant 62 blew me out of the water. The menu was innovative, the food superb and the service very good with just the right touch of small town to let you know you weren't in the city anymore. Now, I'm looking for excuses to go out to Abbotsford again. read more

I've been maybe 4 times and never liked it. I don't mind paying the high prices, as long as the restaurant delivers. Nice cozy atmosphere Waiters are usually a bit rude (I'm in my mid 20's... maybe they think I can't afford to be eating somewhere fancier than boston pizza?) Food is always 'meh', and one time it made me a little sick. One thing I'll give them is their cocktails are AMAZING. read more

Nice place for the location but not a great location. Abbotsford doesn't have much to offer in the way of god food that I have discovered so this would rate as one of their best I guess. First off its very small but still comfy and I didn't feel crowded because they use booth style seating for most of what I saw. They are trying hard to be fine dinning and I guess it is for the Fraser Valley. It is high priced for what they offer. downtown Vancouver prices in a small somewhat cluttered , no view or ambiance venue . If they had the high rent , fantastic location ,clean ,large space thing going on I understand the prices but this is none of those things. The wine list is fantastic but way over marked up. One example of highly marked up wine was one of my favorites ( Petit verdot by Pirramimma ) that retails for $29 in the BCDL. They had it priced at $80.and that is a huge mark up even for the most snooty eatery's on the coast. I noticed this on most of their wine list. Now for the food. Some things were very well made and presented such as the Scallops or the Elk medallions. Both are cooked to perfection and just the right ingredients used to enhance the flavors really shows the chefs skill and knowledge of fine dinning. On the other hand the Sable Fish (my favorite) was served with an overly rich and heavy Risotto that was a poor choice for an already very rich oily fish such as Black Cod. The Lingcod was done in a Nice broth with Tomato green Olives and Cappers. It was tasty but very over powering the light taste of Ling Cod. Granted some may love this taste but it just didn't work for me. All said and done if you're stuck I Abby and need something different than the Cactus Club this is another choice. It's over priced for what it is. Note: Four of us for dinner was about $385. read more

Unfortunately have to give a not so good review. Been here a few times before and it was good really good but this time I felt like we were forgotten. We had a reservation and sat right away ordered right away had apples right away(they were good) then waited and waited probably an hour for entrees and when they finally showed they were just kind of Luke warm and mediocre at best. Pretty disappointing considering the prices. I was going to order a dessert but the waiter decided for me to try and make up for the lack of service and brought something I would never order. So thanks but no thanks. also took my drink away before I finished it but left an empty glass behind. Don't know if I'd want to go back. Maybe this place is overrated or peaked. read more

Went here tonight for my anniversary dinner after much anticipation! Our server, Chris was friendly and attentive with a great sense of humour and impeccable timing. The ambiance was classy yet not stuffy. With an intimate setting and good music. Appetizers were quick and packed full of flavour. Bread with chickpeas and octopus, respectively. Wine list and cocktails were varied and well executed and the server was well educated on recommendations. Our entrees were excellent and a beauty to behold! We had the duck and rabbit. Both were tender and cooked to perfection and matched with sauces to die for. The vegetable pairings were seasonally appropriate and a flavourful complement to the meal. Dessert was no disappointment either, and finished the meal with a sweet but refined note. While my gentleman enjoyed the selection of scotch. We'll definitely be back and plan to make Restaurant 62 our special occasion getaway. read more

Best Restaurant outside of Downtown Vancouver without a doubt! Delighted to find out their catering service exists and is as fantastic as the food in the restaurant. I took my wife here tonight for her birthday. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect and actually almost decided to cancel and try a different place. I am so glad I didn't! The food was absolutely perfect! It was quiet and intimate. The server was super kind, engaging and attentive. I was expecting the place to be uptight but it was the complete opposite. It was warm and inviting and a perfect spot for the dinner celebration. We each got our own appetizers (so we could try as much of the food as possible) They were original and full of flavour! My wife had the steak and I had the Wagyu special. Both were cooked beautifully and the desserts were fresh and delicious! The wine list is extensive and there is something for everyone. I wish I had gotten the servers name so I could let her boss know it was a perfect experience. If I could rate higher, I would!!! Perfect date night out or a small group of friends.
