The food is beautifully presented and tasty. The focus on flavour is obvious. We had three starters: scallops, crab cakes, and the beet salad. All had accompanying flavours that were layered and that didn't over power the dish's focus ingredient. For mains we had the pork chop and a beef duo of short rib and tenderloin. Both were served atop vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork chop had a delightful quince demi-glacé that was pleasing and a marvellous complement to the pork which was perfectly seared. The beef duo was terrific. And both were perfect, absolutely perfect in preparation and taste. It's a small room but it was warm and airy. They still have dividers up which was reassuring but not obtrusive. And the service was terrific. A young man, the owner's son seated us and brought us water efficiently and professionally. And our waitress was great; she remembered our order and we were looked after so well. Highly recommended.

The one issue is that the wine list is terrible for the quality of the food. Wines like Burrowing Owl or Bells Glos would be far better than these so called BC premium wines. Also a better sound selection would improve the ambiance. Have already made my reservation for next month! This restaurant should move to South Surrey where it would be much better appreciated! People still come in wearing ball caps like some side alley pub or Earls or Cactus Club. This plac e is far better than that!

The corridor leads to spaces on both sides. Surprised to learn that they have a cooking school too. The outside has very obscure signage of restaurant name, we almost missed it. The inside, including the toilets are very nicely decorated with flowers it's almost a fairytale. Food presentation surely feasted my eyes. Edible flowers were used in some dishes. However, they may not necessarily filled my tummy. There were some dishes of which the taste didn't come together cohesively. * Fish and Chips was recommended although fried fish was so bland. It could use some salt. * Chor Muang Flower Dumplings was very artistic but I couldn't tell the chicken from the pork dumpling nor the veggie dumpling. Peanuts were all I tasted in all 3 kinds of dumplings. * Siam Sliders: the idea of these sliders were perfect and executed well. * Fettuccine Scallop Pad Cha is the least on my list. Taste after taste and I am not sure if squid ink fettuccine was the right match for the ginger pad cha sauce. It didn't do justice to the sauce nor did the sauce do justice to the pasta. . * Sous Vide Thai Khao Soi Steak: this spicy Khao Soi sauce compliments the steak slices well. * Banoffee Crumble's coconut caramel sauce was a bit too sweet for me. * Coconut Crème Brûlée was a perfect end to dinner tonight. This is very very good with just enough sweetness that brings out the mild coconut meat. Love this! Loved the service. Our server was all smiles and very nice.

However, I was surprised that the restaurant ambience was way nicer than the rest of the building. The restaurant had a more upscale and cozy feel. Staff were friendly and efficient. We decided to order French onion soup and table side maple bacon scallops to start. The soup was not too salty and had a decent amount of cheese. Scallops were prepared in front of our eyes and tasted pretty good. Next, we had ribeye and beef tenderloin as our mains. We substituted the mash potatoes for mushroom risotto and gnocchi. It was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a dollop of butter. The risotto and gnocchi were both very rich and creamy. The gnocchi were pillowy soft. Lastly, we ordered dessert. There was complimentary crème brûlée for the birthday, but we decided to order their table side dessert as well. They had a trio dessert plate with another crème brûlée, donuts and a chocolate peanut butter ball. The staff torched the cream brûlée in front of us and then flambéed some brandy over the donuts and sprinkled some cinnamon powder. We were able to see some sparks with the cinnamon powder. Lastly, a caramel sauce was poured over the chocolate ball and melted part of the ball to reveal the ice cream filling. Overall, we really enjoyed our dining experience here. I would consider coming back when I am craving some steak. I thought the price was reasonable for the experience.

Our servers were great, water refilled quickly, attentive and ready when you want to order. It's about turnover, in and out, but not in a bad way. The addition of the pizza oven to the Ricky's after Formosa's demise had added an element that we feel the franchise needed. That said, we've never come here for pizza. Our breakfast was solid, but not outstanding in any way. The pancakes seemed almost fake in that they were underdone, but also tasted chemically, if that's a word. The decor is RADG through and through, but seemed brighter than our last visit, maybe it's the pizza oven. Either way we come here occasionally for breakfast/brunch and then don't for a year or so. Should be telling us something.

The restaurant looks like any other Ricky's restaurant in terms of ambiance with a bonus Famoso menu. It turns out that the restaurant serves Ricky's menu until 8 pm. After 8 pm, only Famoso's menu is served. We stopped by for dinner at 7 pm so both menus were available to order from. I ordered a Brooklyn Deli sandwich with a side of fire-roasted tomato bisque for my entree. As a group, we ordered a number of appetizers to share: garlic bread, Famoso wings and hand-battered fried shrimp. Service went downhill from there. The garlic bread and wings arrived first. Then it took another 30 minutes for the shrimp to arrive. We did not get our sharing plates until way after the initial food arrived. Around that time, our server informed us that the kitchen ran out of clam chowder for one of the food orders. It was another long wait until all the entrees arrived. The kitchen seemed very disorganized as we were the only dine-in customers. There was one take-out order during this time. The food was average at best. My sandwich and soup tasted alright. I have eaten this combo a number of times at other locations. I find the Commercial Drive or Guildford Famoso locations to have a nicer ambiance for the same food and better food presentation. Lastly, I had a coupon for a discount. I gave our server the coupon at the start of our order and she forgot to take the discount off when we were paying the bill. I feel like the disorganized service could be a major reason why the restaurant was so quiet on a weekend. I am giving this restaurant three stars because they knew to serve the kids first with the initial appetizers. They know that kids cannot sit around and wait for too long. Also, the restaurant did honour the coupon discount.
