Came here with 7 other friends to try and enjoy their Christmas themed Sunday Brunch. Their hostess and wait staff were super friendly who showed our party to our Christmas themed table and throughout our whole stay constantly refilled our beverages be it water or coffee and made sure our finished plates were picked up to make room for 2nds, 3rds, 4ths...... Their food offerings were your run of the mill buffet themed salad bar, protein in chafing dishes, a carving station, dessert section, but they did have a made-to-order omelette bar which is a nice addition. I would say overall good, not the best buffet option in town but at $31 / head t&t in is hard to top. Free parking is plentiful and available in two lots to the right and left of the building. read more

Came here for Easter brunch and it was obvious they were understaffed, yet the staff still made our experience pleasant and was so apologetic of the wait/chaos. I overheard a family yelling at a kind server for charging her grown kid as an adult and flipped him off. I am not a fan of rude customers and frankly the server did not deserve that kind of treatment. All of the staff on duty was exceptional and if I could rate on service alone, it would be a 5 star. The food selection for the Easter brunch was a decent spread. Most dishes were tasty, but I feel there was room for improvement and I would have liked the buffet area to be more clean/hand sanitizers available in the common areas. read more

3rd time at the Buffets offered here at Mr.A's. Party of 14 today at the Sunday Brunch Buffet. Best Buffet of the 3 parties we have had at Mr.A's. Fresh hot selection of food. Got here at 10am and didn't wait in the lineups you see at 11am. Our server was fast and was around the tables cleaning and topping up the beverages without hesitation. We will definitely be back. The East Dining Room was beautifully set up. If your lucky enough to get this gentleman serving you, you will have a great Brunch. read more

First of all I like to blame Edward L (Yelp Elite) for blasting my activity stream with dozens of pictures of this place. (Kidding). Got us curious enough... What I like about this place.... the staffs are super friendly. Very nice and attentive. The food, except for the proteins, are okay. The salad bar is very fresh and plentiful. The desserts are passible also. Got couple of cakes made in-house but majority bought from Costco or similar outfits. Well, when we arrived at Mr. A's, we were shocked to see the entire parking lot packed. Given this is Langley and we drove about 1/2 hour stretch of farms and air fields not seeing a soul, it appears the whole town of Langley is here at the restaurant.... The host greeted us and informed us there is a Christmas price special; 17.99$ as opposed to 14.99$ for lunch. We shrugged and entered. Not knowing the significance from what was offered regularly as this is our first time. Would appreciate if they had put this on their website. I had try calling them a number of times, but no one answered. Luckily there was a table for two. If you are 4+, highly recommend calling ahead and make reservations. What could be improved: the proteins are a bit lacking. For today's lunch they offered steamed salmon, lemon grass pork, and holiday turkey with stuffing. All were a tad on the dry side. Turkey tasted a bit off. The whole joint reminds me of a 1970s motel. Need some upgrading to do here if Mr. A's is interested drawing a crowd other than the local seniors. Who knows, maybe they are content with the current customer base. The meal for two came out to be 50$+. Overall the food is healthy tasting but on a exceptionally bland dull side of things. If it was not for the salad bar and the YELP Maverick badge, I would probably have stayed away, there are plenty of better options at this price point. read more

A buffet somewhere in Langley,it was a huge place,neat,classy and very clean. Parking is free,washroom is immaculately clean and smells awesome.there tv and wifi is free. Main floor is a restaurant and i believed second floor is function hall and i heard this is a karaoke bar upstair.Around i saw a lot of golf cart so mostlikely this is a golfcoarse aswell..sorry guys i didnt do my research this time. It was a German buffet when we came in for lunch The server claimed that everyday they have different kind of buffet.. well i wish today is american or italian coz my cravings are spaghetti,pizza ,fries and burgers and steak. There are few selections of dishes i love the chicken,it was so tender and very creamy,a lot of selection for the salad and sweets,soup was lentil when we came in. We paid $40 including our tup so i gez it wasnt bad at all. Service was excellent,noise level is morethan average because a b day program is going while we are having lunch. The designs and decors reminds me of western old houses or the high end senior homes around town very nice. read more

A group of us Seniors attended this restaurant in Langley for their brunch buffet. My first time there and the ambience is a delight to the eye. It was bright and clean. Such a lot of variety for breakfast and lunch. Didn't know where to start. Breakfast items were tasty, lunch items were excellent except for the roast beef which was chewy, not tender. Dessert was good too especially the Tiramisu and the Crème brûlée. I do think the food was excellent. Service was also great provided by a Filipina server who'd come to check if everything is alright. I took away one star because I believe that a buffet should have free non-alcoholic beverages. Management should have thought, if customers are provided with free soda and juice, less food will be consumed as the stomachs will be full of liquid. Food and beverage go hand in hand. I enjoyed the brunch and won't mind going back again on a Sunday brunch. read more

My friend and I were SO excited to go to the Seafood Buffet recently. You cannot imagine our disappointment when we got there and viewed the paltry selection available. We had been previously (before Covid) and absolutely loved it. Not this visit! The buffet was about a third of the size it had previously been and, no crab legs! Listening to other diners around us, it was apparent that they too had come for the crab legs. The selection of dishes was limited and yet the price for the Buffet had increased significantly. So, we went from excited anticipation (based on previous visits) to boring, mediocre food. Will definitely not be back and will tell friends to skip this overpriced buffet that was about equivalent to one of the $10 buffets at the various Casinos. read more

Our company had an event here, and the experience was absolutely splendid. This establishment carries an ultra high class atmosphere, which boded well with the nature of our business. The servers were extremely dignified and professional, even when certain team members threw them curveballs by sharing soda drinks which were not included in the corporate event package. The offerings in the buffet were outstanding. Self-service in the buffet line has since resumed as we reach the supposed offset of the health crisis. The salad department was presented first, which I opted to skip off the bat. As the old cliche goes, "we have salad at home". Bypassing the leafy generics allowed for more room on my plate, and in my stomach, for the true delectables, such as fish fillets, roast beef, and turkey. The carving station was staffed by a kind young man who expertly dispensed slices of roast beef and turkey. I was aghast by the stranger ahead of me in the queue, who rudely pointed at one of the roast meet options without a word. I greeted the chef, asked for the turkey, and thanked him graciously, and was met with kindness in response. A plethora of dipping sauces were made available with the roasts, but I stuck with the traditional gravy to be safe. A lovely marinara penne pasta was also presented among the entrees, which I have a soft spot for. At the end of the night, I sampled the deserts (only after returning for 3 servings of the aforementioned entrees.) As much as I love sweets, they were not a priority for me as I feel the same was towards them as I do salad- once you've tried one slice of cake/pie/brownies/etc you've tried them all. It's my understanding that this restaurant serves different offerings of cuisines on different days of the week, and it is my goal to try all of them. I will try to convince my employers to make the buffets a monthly event as opposed to annual, and will try to visit this location with my associates in a personal capacity. read more

Maybe I need to get out more, but this place has one of the most epic buffets I have been in the Vancouver area. It falls behind the gold standard at Westwood Plateau, but also costs way less. Parking is available in the large lot next to to the building. On the Sunday we went, the lot was actually quite food. Thank goodness there were a few spots available. The interior looks like something right out of the 1980s. Right down to the covered indoor patio with the sloped glass roof. Haven't seen these around for decades, other than some really old fast food locations. When I saw the buffet room, I couldn't stop giggling like a little kid. The room was packed solid with food. There was a long omelette station, buffet line, salad station, salad toppings station, breakfast station, and several tables of desserts. There's even a kids' buffet line with short tables. Something for everyone indeed. The selection was so wide that I filled up 2 solid plates just trying to sample everything that was available.I didn't even know where to start. Most of the dishes were of decent quality. Not 5 stars fine dining good, but a solid 3.5 stars. See photos. Special mention goes to their dessert section. What I really liked about the selection was that it seemed to lean heavily on the chocolate-flavoured stuff. The cakes were nice and dense. I wish I could've tried them all. Brunch is a bit steep at $19, but there are coupons available if one looks around. That was how we justified the trip out, as it's quite the journey from Vancouver. read more

Went for Sunday brunch today. The set up has changed completely due to covid. There is no more pasta station, and no cold meats/cheese and cold fish (smoked salmon) platter. Everything is now behind glass and served for you which is nice except for the huge long lines for food and the fact that almost everything was cold including the tea/coffee! The place was packed for brunch and the food area was a total s**tshow. The food was barely lukewarm and when I finally got to the end, there was no beef. Which was just as well as the lady next to me could not even cut hers. Cold eggs bennie as well as the hashbrowns and bacon. Not even lukewarm. Even the tea was cold. Our server was very apologetic. The only thing worth eating was the salad and dessert. Came home to make a decent cup of tea and a sandwich. Won't be back. read more

What an amazing experience we had at this place! We went to try their Friday night prime rib buffet that had recently reopened. From the moment we stepped into the place, we had such a great evening. First off, I cannot enough about the absolute excellence of the service! Honestly, it was the best service we've encountered in a long time. Every single staff member, from the host, to the woman taking us to our table, to our server, to the other staff milling about - they were the kindest and friendliest and made our time there even better. Truly, I cannot commend the staff there enough! The atmosphere in the place is wonderful too. We sat by the fireplace and the restaurant was very busy that night. The whole establishment had a wonderfully warm holiday vibe. I think they also recently changed the buffet rules so now you can go up and get the food yourself (I think servers had to serve it to you before because of Covid). The food itself is delicious, with plenty of choices. There's a small salad bar with two types of lettuce mixtures, various salad dressing options, crudités, potato and macaroni salads (both of these were so good!), cut up fruit, and a cheese plate. For the hot food, there were bread rolls, Yorkshire pudding, green beans, rice, roast potatoes, spareribs, barbecue chicken, pasta in red sauce (very tasty!), white fish in cream sauce and a salmon in a dill sauce (I never really enjoy fish at a buffet, but both fish dishes were two of my highlights!), the prime rib (yummy!) and some beef ribs. There is also a small dessert table with various dessert cake squares. All in all, it was one of the best evenings we've had in a long time. This place is so dated was my first thought for Sunday brunch. My second thought is this place is so popular for weddings after seeing people prepping for a wedding every time I am here. I end up here annually for someone's birthday for the past few years. The brunch is a nice basic menu which offers a little bit of everything you would expect except there was no cheese platter next to the sliced deli meats. There is a kids buffet section in which the tables are set at children's height, but the adults like stop by to help themselves to chicken nuggets and jello. There are pasta, crepes and waffle stations. Tea and coffee is extra. Service is usually good. No complaints there. They are fast to refill empty food items. I use the Entertainment Coupon every year so that is why I am giving a 4 star rating. $18 for 2 people to enjoy a buffet is great value for the the quantity and quality of the food. read more

My family was visiting from California, and my parents being huge Ballroom Dancers and Buffet Beasts, I figured this would be something they would enjoy... So, I rounded the troops, and headed over to Mr.A's. Now, I heard this place was good for groups... So here my group came. So we came on a Friday evening, which I expected to be crazy, and also because they said to make a reservation a week in advance. It was not that busy. The food was okay, buffet food, but honestly nothing super spectacular. Service was excellent! Our server was so amazing and the staff was just superb! The dance floor was a good size, but has an awkward post that is smack dab in the middle of nowhere on the dance floor. Not cool, but we worked around it The Band, Escueta Brothers! AWESOME! They are so much fun! You can request what you want and they sing it beautifully! Great Band, seriously, I was so surprised and amazed! It's got my thumbs up for sure, I would surely come here with a huge group of friends and just eat and dance all night! hahaha read more

This review is for the Newlands Bar and Grill, upstairs. A bunch of us went here for a 40th birthday party last night. I don't know... maybe it is me but the whole singles over 40 scene is a little scary. This place is where the second time around set comes to pick up in Langley. They had a great band that was amazing at every cover tune they did... the place was packed but the wonder woman bar tender kept the bar going, and served groups of tables all night. Fantastic service. The appies were ok, and the drinks weren't too expensive until the rounds of shooters started adding up. The decor is getting tired and it is a bit dingy... but then again not much in there would hold up well under bright lights - if you get my drift. We girls had a nice time... and when we got tired of fending off the circling hair club for men types... we left. I wonder what happened to the gal with the bright pink tube top... the installed 42 double D's and the bleached blond 80"s hair... she was going strong when we left.. read more

We arrived after the lunch rush. And being a large family group we were seated on the lower level dance floor! Each person totally enjoyed the smashing buffet. The salmon was cooked in mango, and exquisite! The dessert selection was delectable, and service was competent and respectful. A few dishes were refilled as we requested even though we remained until after the buffet was shut down at 2pm. We will continue to choose Mr. A's! read more

I went here for the Saturday night Prime Rib Buffet with a group of seven. We were seated at a table looking onto the golf course -what a Beautiful view! Our waiter, Miguel, was so attentive to our group even as the restaurant got busy. I was impressed and did not expect that level of service at a buffet. However, the decor is so terribly dated... I'd say it is stuck in a 1980's time warp.. both style and wear and tear are issues. The food was terrible. The prime rib (I thought this was the signature dish??) was akin to leather, the chicken dry and the salads meh. Only the fish was decent (I took tablespoon of most everything so I could have a "taste" of it all). The desert buffet was nice. Hubby and I shared three deserts. The cheesecake was fine, the cappuccino mousse was great and the custard would have been alright except for the tinned peaches on top (bleh). I would not recommend this place as the dinner was really that bad. oh, and they had a live band which played your typical "wedding playlist." read more

Went for the Sunday brunch. Staff was very friendly. Two of our party ended up with food poisoning and were very sick for 3 days. Called and spoke with a manager who suggested if one is not used to "rich" food they could end up feeling ill. Blamed us for getting sick. Also gave the usual spiel that we were the first to ever have a problem with their buffet. Refused to provide a refund. Offered a coupon for a free meal "once we were feeling better"! We were given a two-for-one coupon for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and sadly the only good thing I can say about it was that our server was attentive. Unfortunately he did not have name tag. We did not have reservations but were told on arrival that the wait would be approximately 10 minutes so we waited. Four people were doting over the seating map and waiting list like they were trying to perform brain surgery. Not sure why the desk staff were so confused as this restaurant has apparently been serving Sunday brunch for many years. 30 minutes later we were seated in an awkward table for two. The surroundings are very dated (I'm guessing the last attempt at a spruce-up was probably late 1980's or early 1990's). Coffee was served promptly and our server told us to feel free to visit the buffet when we were ready. The food was okay and the only thing that really tasted fresh were the omlettes that were made to order. Scrambled eggs were hard and cold as was the bacon which also had a funky after taste. Many items tasted as if they had been sitting for hours and some of the buffet serving warmers were old, dented or lids didn't open properly. The price point was far too much considering the wait and the freshness. Totally not worth it even with the 2 for 1 coupon. We will not be coming back. read more

This used to be our go to brunch spot . It was always a wonderful classy atmosphere with excellent service and the food was always hot , fresh and delicious . We've gone twice lately and it has been the worst experience we've had here . Our drinks we ordered as soon as we got there took so long to get to the table that we were almost done our second plates already. The food at the buffet was very disappointing . Cold , rock hard French toast and eggs Benedict and the service was awful. After sending in a complaint about our disappointment we got no response in return . Been here twice, a wedding and Mother's day. The wedding banquet (celebration aside wasn't memorable so I'll only comment on the Mother's day dinning). The venue is modest yet refreshing, with greenery outside the window. Vaulted ceilings with white drapes underneath. Mid sized venue for a wedding, large for a restaurant. On mother's day there was live music, the Singaporean singer even knew a few Mandarin songs. Various other popular melodies included latin and oldies pop. The food- was decent, nothing great nothing inedible. There was no soup no self serve drinks but coffee and tea was included. Cold dishes included various preserved fish, smoked etc. about 3 types of salad and various self serve dinner bread. As the cold dishes were slightly above average for a buffet expecting the same for the hot dishes was a bit of a disappointment, baked small potatoes, steamed veges, steamed rice with vege bits, tomatoe sauce penne, white fish was good. Roast beef was a bit chewy and lacked flavour but dessert looked and tasted promising. Various squares, cheesecake, chocolate cake, tiramisu were all well presented and had flavour rather than all just being sweet. Service was good. read more

Abysmal today! We've had okay (though not stellar) food in the past. Today, the food was while nigh inedible. The salmon smelled off, the cabbage rolls were heavy on cabbage and deficient on innards, the Caesar dressing tasted and looked like cornstarch, devoid of flavor. The worst dining experience I've ever had from beginning to end. We had a reservation but still took 30 minutes to get seated. Service was horribly slow and this was a buffet style restaurant at Newlands Golf Course in Langley. They only have to serve drinks and they managed to get the drink order wrong. The food was horrible as well. It was a prime rib buffet however the prime rib was raw and i mean dripping blood raw. I like a medium rare steak but this was disgusting. Then came the bill. We had a $17.00 off coupon that we gave the server when he finally showed up. but were charged full price. There were 2 different prices for the buffet depending if you also had dessert. we had booked a table for 8 for a birthday celebration on a Friday night which was the prime rib buffet night. We waited for 10 minutes after being seated for the waitress and ordered drinks. We proceeded upto the buffet which was pretty average. The Yorkshire puddings were like hockey pucks. Thought it may have been a poor batch but for a 2nd try later on they were no better. There was also no gravy, just a flavorless beef juice which ran away from everything. We asked the waitress for water refills twice which never came so I went and got a pitcher myself. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks or coffee and had to track down the waitress for our bill. All in all I'd say pretty mediocre buffet, selection and poor service. At $25 per it's high for what you get. We had previously been there for a sunday brunch which was great. Would avoid on other days based on this experience. read more

Really really not happy with my experience tonight! I went for a Friday prime rib dinner and The prime rib were dry like beef jerky, not only that the other food were so salty and not fresh and we were there at supper time around 6. Also I have a buy one get one free coupon that expired date is till Jan 2017. This coupon is good Thursday to Sunday. Me, my husband and my 3 year old son want to try their Friday Prime rib dinner. I had double check when they seated us that we r allow to use the coupons, but by the time we got the bill, the total is different.....We didn't get our buy one get one free deal, they even charge my boy $18. I thought there is some miscommunication and had brought this to the managers attention. His respond is that for the month of December the rules changes..... I don't know what he mean by that but this is rediculious and there is nothing on the coupons that indicate what he said. I had even check the price on line before I went to eat there and there wasn't any rules changed that was mention. Price were still the same on line for both adult and kids. The coupon had no indications regards to the customer are not allow to use them on the month of December and on line the price for kids under 4 years old eats for free. Totally not recommend this place to anyone and very very unsatisfied read more
