It was a long time coming and they did not disappoint! From the warm and inviting atmosphere, and historical heritage house setting, to attentive waitstaff, and delicious menu options, served in the highest quality and with attention to detail, we were blown away. They sat us promptly at our reservation time, pulling the table for us to sit comfortably. Free complimentary crab puffs were given along with ice water, free baguette slices, and whipped butter. We ordered our martinis, which were delicious vibrant, balanced, and themed to the city. They were delicious and the mixture was mixed perfectly. He had the White Rock and enjoyed it; I had the Green Timbers. Our charcuterie was expertly plated and gorgeous to look at, along with fresh and delicious. The cheese, cured meats, and fruits were fresh, crisp, tangy, and perfectly paired with one another for a solid appetizer. We then had our encores. The steak I had (he had the duck) was the most supple, soft, juicy, and perfectly cooked medium rare I've had in my memory. I swear. If you love steak.. you'll love it. Perfectly seasoned, supple and soft... gorgeous. Along with the pillowy, crispy potatoes and veggies? Classic! The waitstaff were friendly, efficient, attentive, and cordial, with a smile and clearly loved their job. Ours, Mike, said he'd been at the place for over 10 years.. clearly, he liked coming to work. It's great to see! We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our experience at the Old Surrey Restaurant and will 100% be back again, as well as plan. On gifting dinner to the in laws. If a restaurant could have a perfect score, in my books, this would be almost (if not) it!

The wine flights were not great. The wines tasted oxidized. The service was OK, the guys doing the table side were excellent. Our waitress I think the table beside us had her running in circles being extremely demanding over a red wine so I'm not sure if that's why our service was not great. I feel that considering it was not just any anniversary but our 25th, they did nothing to make the evening feel special which was disappointing. I'm disappointed as I was so excited to try Old Surrey Restaurant as we were hoping we could come here going forward for birthdays and anniversaries.

The food is beautifully presented and tasty. The focus on flavour is obvious. We had three starters: scallops, crab cakes, and the beet salad. All had accompanying flavours that were layered and that didn't over power the dish's focus ingredient. For mains we had the pork chop and a beef duo of short rib and tenderloin. Both were served atop vegetables and mashed potatoes. The pork chop had a delightful quince demi-glacé that was pleasing and a marvellous complement to the pork which was perfectly seared. The beef duo was terrific. And both were perfect, absolutely perfect in preparation and taste. It's a small room but it was warm and airy. They still have dividers up which was reassuring but not obtrusive. And the service was terrific. A young man, the owner's son seated us and brought us water efficiently and professionally. And our waitress was great; she remembered our order and we were looked after so well. Highly recommended.

The one issue is that the wine list is terrible for the quality of the food. Wines like Burrowing Owl or Bells Glos would be far better than these so called BC premium wines. Also a better sound selection would improve the ambiance. Have already made my reservation for next month! This restaurant should move to South Surrey where it would be much better appreciated! People still come in wearing ball caps like some side alley pub or Earls or Cactus Club. This plac e is far better than that!

I had the special of the halibut in a saffron sauce on a bed of spinach that was phenomenal. My husband that joined us. He had the ribeye steak. The scalloped potatoes came with the steak and Halibut, they look burnt but we're excellent. A few of the girls got the omelets. There was a shrimp croissant special that looked amazing but everyone said the food was very good. The complimentary bread and whipped butter was excellent and it was hard not to eat at all. We decided to split a bottle of the chabarton pink rose which was excellent and complimented all the food. My husband did decide to go with a glass of red to go with his steak.

Wait staff is very attentive and nice. Shared a muscle appetizer which is delicious. The light cream sauce has pieces of salmon in it. Great for bread dipping. Ordered the quiche. While it's nice and savory, nothing spectacular. Generous portions Finished with Earl Grey creme brulee. The caramelized sugar is a little too thick for my liking but the rest is pretty yummy and creamy. Pretty big size and filling. Glass of Rose is yummy with strawberry notes.

However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).
