We had a great time at this Cactus Club, service was friendly and quick and the restaurant itself is nice and plush as most locations. We were seated outside on the enclosed patio which was no problem, I'm not sure I would want to sit there in summer with the patio open. The view is of a very busy intersection and highway, which you could hear through the closed windows. Food and drinks were great, we had the steak and med bowl and it was delicious. We also love their happy hour options, so come before 5 if you want to take advantage of it. Parking seems plentiful on first glance, but it's not. We made reservations for two for 5:45pm and let the restaurant know it was our 28th anniversary. Upon arrival, we were sat almost immediately and congratulated on our special day. Once seated, drink orders were taken and served in a timely fashion. The place was busy, but not crazy and we were able to easily have conversation and hear each other. We were seated in a cozy booth in the dining room which I think offered some intimacy to our dining and blocked some of the hub bub going on around us. We ordered an appetizer of sweet potato fries with garlic aioli and ordered our main at the same time. The appetizer was served after about 15 minutes, but it took almost 45 minutes after that to get our mains. We both had the Creole steak and prawns. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of mine, however it was a little spicy for the boss. Her Sunset soda cooled the heat while my parallel 49 epic IPA slaked my thirst. We were both disappointed that no one other than the greeter congratulated us on our 28th anniversary, and how little anyone asked us how our meal was going or offered us more libations. We were asked once, almost at the end of the meal, how everything was going, and I had to point at my long empty glass and suggest I may want another drink. All in all it was a good meal, if somewhat expensive, for the size of the portion received, but the lack of attentive servers really was noticeable and detracted from the whole experience. We came in for date night/late night happy hour, which started at 9. It was quite busy on a Thursday evening. It's a nice energy to be around for a night out. We had the avocado dip, prawn crunch roll, baja fish tacos and prawn + ravioli trio. We really enjoyed the prawn crunch roll which was on the happy hour menu, and ordered a 2nd roll. I like how they have the option to get the prawn + ravioli trio, which is a smaller version of the main menu item. It had an interesting lemon flavour in the sauce. Service was good. Our sever Meg was lovely and efficient. We also loved seeing our favourite server Amber who is the absolute best. Unfortunately she was just ending her shift. Our only complaint was that the fries were barely warm. Meg apologised and took them back but the replacement ones weren't much better. First time here after driving past it hundreds of times. Parking can definitely be a challenge on busier nights since the lot is limited. We went on a Wednesday night and it was still difficult to find parking. The set up of this location allows for pretty flexible vibe depending on the occasion, which is a nice touch. Our server recommended the hunter chicken, which a third of our party ended up ordering. Flavors were amazing, but the portion could've been slightly bigger in my opinion. The chicken was cooked perfectly, mushroom demiglaze definitely held that earthy mushroom flavor, and the mashed potatoes were velvety. Ordered mini chicken sandwiches and hot honey chicken and pickles on Door Dash. Have had these multiple times in person at cactus and neither arrived close to how they are usual. The chicken mini burgers are hard as a rock and the chicken with pickles is just that, no hot honey sauce on them.... or maybe a teaspoon. They are gone dry. Soooo disappointing. This was my first visit to the Cactus Club in years! I really enjoyed the decor and set up of this location. There were plenty of options for seating depending on the vibe you are going for. We opted to sit out on the covered, heated patio since both the dining room and lounge were pretty packed. Our server was pleasant and looked after us immediately. He checked in occasionally to see how everything tasted and to make sure we were all set for drinks. We ordered the Tofu Lettuce Wraps which were phenomenal. I can see why this is such a popular item here. The sauces served with it added fantastic flavour and I loved the textures they have in this dish. I would order these again. For my entree I ordered the Thai Green Curry with prawns. I felt like it had a good balance of flavour and heat but it lacked texture for me. It needed some kind of crunchiness to really elevate it. My wife ordered the Avocado Kale Salad which had a fantastic salad dressing and has a good combination of crunch. The Cactus Club offers a lot of variety, especially during happy hour specials. I absolutely LOVE cactus club ever since I first tried it in 2016 in downtown Vancouver. I've probably visited 5-6 different locations but it was my first time at the Abbotsford one. I must say that our experience started off really well - we were able to make a reservation online a few hours before, which was great, and when we got to the restaurant were seated within 5 minutes. We also got a table on the heated patio, which was perfect because it was cold outside. We came while there was still happy hour, so both my friend and I ordered the red sangria - it was delicious! It definitely got us a little buzzed, so worth getting if you're looking for a decent drink that isn't just sugar. To eat, I had the Mini Crispy Chicken Sandwich Duo, which was pretty much a mini version of the Rob's Crispy Chicken Sandwich. They were also so scrumptious, just what I was craving :) When it came to service from the time we got seated to when we received our food, it was good, but, once we were done eating, it took so long for our server to get us all checked-out so we could leave. We sat waiting for about 15-20 minutes - in fact, we had to catch a couple of other servers because our server wasn't really attending to us anymore. This really took away from our experience. I believe it was the garden salad. It had fresh cherry tomatoes and big pieces of feta. Next time I'm going especially for that. Service was good for it being the long weekend which was great too. The reason for not giving 5 stars is that (at least where we sat) it was extremely dark. It felt very hard to see much, and didn't feel nice for it being the middle of the day. Location of the restaurant is attractive for sure. You can see it from far off the road and also it shows good view of main highway and snow covered mountains as the backdrop. We were told that there is 30 mins wait but we got table sooner. By the way they have this texting feature on your cellphone so just give ur name n number before you wait to be seated. Glass patio, bar , dinning seating and lounger couches are your choices to sit(now don't say thats it..) Well, we were glad to be seated at the table of our choice from where we could witness thr happening bar and spectacular view outside the glass window. Somehow the ambience makes the food more tastier. There is this fries called dirty fries which is basicallu flavoured sprinkled fries. Too delicious. Thai curry with rice is good amount of food but littlr heavy on stomach as it has cream in it. Drinks are countless and all do justice to amount of kick u need. i waited two hours in the parking lot to be given a mouthfull of excuses, following the diligent attention of the parking lot boy, who only found my waiting in a loading zone to be an issue, while waiting for my 40$ ravioli, i realized that they were not willing to sell me the food i waited for(7:20 it expired it is now 9 pm i ordered at 7. funny that they just called to see where i was- to tell me that my food was ready and then that they dont call to inform that food is ready. i must be the wrong colour to eat here read more

So I wanted to take my daughter somewhere nice for an evening snack after her year end recital. Not knowing the Abbotsford dining scene we fell on the Cactus Club as a default choice. The stars in this review review are purely for the food. It was good, when it finally arrived. Well, when the utensils and napkins arrived so we could eat it. It took about 15 minutes to get a server to the table. She apologized for being new and not knowing the system, but not holding her accountable here, that falls on management for lack of support and training. No physical menus were mentioned or offered. The online menu is unwieldy on a smartphone, and I don't normally carry my laptop along for a snack. Ambiance: thumbs down. Seated on the patio. No menus, napkins, table was bare. Stools were metal/plastic woven rattan. Was like sitting in a cafeteria. I'd asked to be seated at a table on the window so we could look out at the view but were seated at a hightop on a blind corner. Many tables along the window sat empty. Dirty dishes were piled up on the table next to us for the duration of our visit. Waiter came back with water as we'd requested after awhile but without the other drinks... why??? Multiple parties that were seated well after us received their meals about 15 minutes before ours arrived. We'd ordered the tuna roll and chicken sliders. Pretty basic. Food: Thumbs up, was tasty. Finally arrived 40+ minutes after we got there. But with no utensils or napkins. Those came later. Sorry Cactus, your food is ok but pricy. Over $50 for 2 small appies and a sleeve of local lager.... No worries paying well for a great dining experience, but usually that includes a measure of ambiance and service. Will be researching more and supporting local instead next time we dine out in the valley. Likely won't be back to this one, hoping to hear they improve, then may give CC another try. Yes, this review sounds a little nit-picky. But I kept remembering additional items about this experience as I drafted this, hence their inclusions. I better post this before I remember more! I did not want to give them 5 stars, simply because 5 stars is meant for superb food and service to add in. This loco got it all. The service is superb, friendliest staff, huge smile and superb recommendation and atmosphere. 4 of us and this is what we got 1) crispy chicken burger 8/10. He said beautiful sauce and great piece of chicken. Came with fries that could have been hot but was warming. 2) Butternut Squash Ravioli with prawns. 8/ 10. It could have been more flavorful with added herbs or "spices". Portion size could use 20% more prawns. 7 pieces ravioli and prawn. 3). I had the. crispy Tofu bowl. It is awesome 9/10. Superb texture of tofu, edamame, Napa cabbage etc etc. It tasted so unique. Taste of Malay, Korean, Japanese and Thai rolled into this dish. It sound like I am mixing the taste but it has all the singular flavor of the above. I'll always have this when I visit. They all loved it and said " it's a dish we would have loved " The Ginger Turmeric drink is awesome loved it. I'll be back before I leave in 3 days for home. read more

We popped in to this location for an early lunch after from bridal shopping. We were one of the first customers of the day because we were so early. The location has some nice atmosphere with some pretty views of the mountains and highway from their large windows. They have two seating areas of lounge and dinning. We chose to sit within the lounge area to take advantage of the sunshine that day. We were a little taken a back by how loud the music was, and we switched tables to try and be able to hear each other better. So we just popped one table over. Sadly the seats weren't entirely clean from the night before and I had to scrape whatever was on the seat off. And sadly even though the restaurant had just opened a table was sat right beside us, who was quiet loud. But this could completely be personal preference and we did know that we chose to sit within the lounge. We just didn't anticipate someone being seated beside us when there was an abundance of tables available. Sadly when we tried to order some coffee we were told that they did not have any non dairy milk options for coffee, and due to one of us being lactose intolerant and the other being vegan we sadly couldn't go through with the order. We switched to some tea and got our coffee else wear. So please keep in mind if you're Looking For Non Dairy Coffee Options there is Not Any Available at this location at this time. Besides those little flaws our meals were great. They were fresh and hot, and tasted great. I went with my staple of a modern bowl, and I had no complaints. My sister got the crispy tofu bowl.
