First time at this place for birthday celebration dinner with a live band on 80's theme and our experienced was good. There was $15 entrance fee and the place was not super crazy busy on a Saturday night probably because of rainy weather. Our server was great, very quick in refilling our drinks. Foods we've ordered was good and the Dirty Yams was my favorite. The live band was great and had a great time. Having conversations was a bit challenging due to very loud music and my watch keeps giving me warnings. read more

I have been coming to this establishment long before the Corona Virus began a war on this earth. it had been a place where I, a single young man, could get a decent plate of home style cooked meals at a very reasonable price. I absolutely enjoyed every dish I tried at the time, weather it was your wholesome meat and potatoes, or something a tad more edgy. Then the virus waged its war and things changed. I have returned once since the pandemic, I came with my girlfriend to introduce her to what had essentially kept me nourished over the past years. I dare say we were both not as impressed as I had hoped after all the hype I had made about the place. We ordered a few dishes to have a good sample base. The Mini Stuffed Yorkies were great but the gravy was old and dry. The waitress was asked about this and after some arguing, she finally consented to go to the kitchen and get us some gravy. I am not sure why the kitchen thought it would be acceptable to serve the dish with old gravy in the first place, but at least it was resolved, the whole dish was elevated and we were much happier with it. The Potato skins were also quite good, no complaints there. The Soft Pretzel was more Pretzel than soft in some of its parts, but with enough of the 3 types of mustard served with it, it was edible. The wings were also a bit dry, but wings are wings, some are meatier than others. I would like to assume that the quality we had on the recent visit was a one off, and that the next time I return, I will have no complaints at all. The service was acceptable, issues were resolved but the waitress seemed too busy to enjoy her job (or maybe it was us demanding customers... who knows. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant hasn't change, it is large, open and comfortable. The price is more than reasonable which is high on my priority list when recovering from a pandemic (and also before the pandemic, affordable food always tastes better). I am hoping to return to this pub very soon, and hope the quality returns to its pre-pandemic glory. read more

Went for a hip hop show. The venue was alright but all we could hear was static. They were not setup for a concert. The washroom was one of the biggest line ups I've ever seen for a guys washroom and I don't think anyone was using the washroom for washroom things. This place was absolutley horrible. We came in for half price day, sat down and server came over and welcome us. It wasnt even busy to begin with.We didn't know what we wanted to drink so gave us the drink menu and ask what would like while not even given a chance to pick something and order. The server then ask would like a minute to choose, we said yes. After nearly waiting 45min to even order anything we were ignored. Their Menu is just the very basic of old school pub food. Drink menu was terrible. Apparently they dont want to support the local micro breweries. It wasnt even busy to begin with. This place needs either new managment or new owners. read more

New but old. Made the trip to Maple Ridge, paying the big bucks to use the new Golden Ears bridge. Went so some friends and I could check out the new Don Cherry Sports Grill in Haney, but seeing as how that was a disaster of a trainwreck of a dead end street, we turned around and looked for something else. Ended up driving by this big new looking place, though I suspect it was in reality old but reno'd recently... Its big inside... no one greeted us so we walked around for a bit and sat ourselves. Long Island was cheap... $4.25 :) and tasted like their was a little bit of booze in it, so not bad. Server was good until we switched to pepsi instead of booze to go wit hour meals... we got appys as well, not like we ordered fries and a beer and sat there for 2 hours... so yes she turned kind of 'meh' on us after that, and also my friends burger arrived very pink/red and had to ask for it to be taken off the bill, as well he had ordered yam fries and they sent him regular ones. She did take the burger off the bill but left the yam fries on? I should add the rest of the food was fine, nothing spectacular, but fine. But the service left a lot to be desired. Not an area I frequent so needless to say they didn't impress enough to return. read more

Came her for a fundraiser, which they are huge supporters of. It was a burger and a drink combo and I got the quinoa veg burger. It was AMAZINGLY delicious! The bun was soft, the ingredients were minimal but the burger was super good. I got a Caesar salad too but it was not that good. It was drenched in sauce. Service was ok. Old but New My first night the servering was definatley horrible i remeber well. But everytime ive been there since has been good. There is one server who is very open, friendly and does her job. The food i liked from the start and they usually have specials. Speaking of specials they alwasy have appies 3-6pm 2 for 1 or half price. The place was once an interesting dancing bar but it has been renovated and now is gorgeous. There is tons of seating: lounge, tall tables and bar seating and more. I would say it is a sports bar but then again i have only gone there on sports night because there is more than enough brandnew LCDS around the entire place!! and i guess also because they have a football club :P The pub is tipped off with a rustic look and low light setting a pool table and darts board. Did i mention free shots for whos ever number you have at your table that scores a goal. The prawn and steak dish was affordable and tasty! along with the 3.75 pints of canadian i was having.. all on a saturday hockey night. I love the haney its a good place to hang out with a couple buds catch up, watch some sports and have a couple! I would deffinatly recommend coming and checking it out. read more

This place is disgusting. The service is slow and painful. The crowds are rough and rowdy. They tried to host a concert I was at about a month ago and the sound system was so bad we left. The musicians were complying at how bad the sound system was while they were on stage. This place needs to get its act together. It's seedy and in a bad neighbourhood so maybe I shouldn't have been surprised. I just expect when you have fairly big name act performing you make sure you properly accommodate them. read more

I've been twice for the Tuesday snow crab and appies specials and it was great for decent priced food at a pub. Service is pretty slow but it gave me a chance to spread out my meal over an entire hockey game instead of just one period. Worth checking out if you like crab! read more

I'll start by saying the food was amazing. The rest is what makes this place a dive. This place seems more like a legion hall than a pub. Staff are too busy chatting and clowning around than serving customers. Lots of "regulars" with nicknames known by staff, which gives it the feel that outsiders are unwelcome. Seating arrangement is odd. Very dark inside, as though i was in a legion basement. Too bad considering the cook obviously is great. Waitress pretty much ignored us, forgot our food order, shrugged it off. Just not a professionally run pub. Too bad, it has the potential to be great, if run properly. read more

Meh. Not impressed. Sat down with my date at a table that obviously not assigned. Waitress upon waitress walked past without looking at us once. Finally flagged one down and she looked shocked that no one had taken our order. Ordered a baileys on ice and when the drink came the ice was overflowing over the top of the glass. My date couldn't even drink her drink without taking out 3/4 of the ice. Great bartender Next our steaks came. Gristly steak. Ordered medium rare and it came raw. Not rare. Raw. Sent it back. I didn't want anything else so I just drank my ceasar. Then because I was driving I ordered a ginger ale and cranberry juice. $3.60 for the pop and they added .50 for the cranberry juice. Are you kidding me? 4.00 for a pop and a sleeve of beer was 4.50. When the bill came surprise, the raw uneaten steak was still in the bill. Thanks Haney public house management. First of all, there is a MANDATORY coat check. Yup thats right, you MUST leave your coat, sweater, collared shirt ..because they consider anything "long sleeved" a coat.. at the door when you enter on a night after 10pm when its considered a "nightclub" scene. I'll explain. My boyfriend and I came her one night, if I remember it was on a Saturday night. It was probably around 11pm. I wore a black cardigan sweater type thing, it was open and I had a dressy shirt on with it. It was a pretty thin material. Anyways, the girl at the coat check demanded I take it off and pay my $2.50 to have it hang in a room where nobody pays attention to. I agreed because I did not want to start a conflict between me and the rude girl at coat check. About half an hour later I decided I wanted my coat because our friends and I were going outside for a smoke. Turns out I had to pay $2.50 EACH TIME i removed my "coat" from the coat check. How does this make sense?? The girl was extremely rude and basically threw my cardigan at me. Long story short, the bouncer got involved, my boyfriend got involved and the bitch behind the counter had a smirk on her face that agitated me even more. The drinks are OK and the food is tolerable. This place has NOTHING special about it. Id say the place makes more of their money off of the coat check. read more

I will not be ordering from here again!!!! I have ordered here a few times and while the food was not too bad I was always impressed at the 2 for 1 appys. That being said I have ordered takeout more than 5 times and ALWAYS got the 2 for 1 deal. I just called there tonight and they said they do not offer this deal with takeout and the previous times were mistakes. Really ALL 5 times(or more)were mistakes. I was just about to place a $50 order and that's with the 1/2 price appys. I order from this place multiple times a month MOSTLY past 6 oclock so do not expect to get the half price appys but unfortunatly I will not be ordering from them any longer. I have been here twice since it has re-opened as Haney public house and quite honestly would not have come back after the first time, but a friend asked for support for a fund raiser. The service is bad the food was awful and the thing that bothers me the most is that upon entering and exiting this establishment you have to wade through a group of smokers and their cloud of smoke it is disgusting and now know for sure, fundraiser or not will never go back nor recommend to anyone. Very dissapointed yesterday, Saturday. As we were having our supper and watching curling, and I did attend every Monday night Football as well, with no reason they changed every channel to hockey!!!!!! The last end, it would have been 10 minutes or less for even one TV!!!! In my opinion this is just poor management, and it may change my mind for next year for football! My husband I go there regularly for the cheap appies and nice cold beer which is also cheap. I love the Cajun wings and my hubby has the chicken fingers and fries and we share the popcorn shrimp. The food is delicious and there is definitely enough to fill us, and the service is always good. We always feel we got our moneys worth and definitely would recommend eating here. read more
