I've lived in the area for years and never heard of this gem! A friend suggested we meet here. I was surprised to find this fun and insanely crowded coffee place! The space is huge. The vibe is so chill. No wonder people come to hang and work while drinking great coffee. I got a basic hazelnut flavored cold brew. It was so fresh and flavorful! I couldn't resist getting the orange creamsicle cookie as well. The cookie was so soft and tasty. The staff goes above and beyond to explain the variety of drinks and offer recommendations. What a great coffee shop. The beans are high quality for their lattes, and their matcha is strong and not at all clumpy (they added the powder through a sieve and really took time to prepare it). I also asked for a tad of honey in the matcha and it cut the bitterness without actually tasting sweet, which was perfect for me. I also tried the olive oil cake which was a tad too sweet but overall so moist and balanced. Service was also friendly. The whole space is really large, lofty, industrial but has plenty of natural light, lots of table and couch space, and is great for studying too. read more

The best and only place in this immediate area to get a decent latte or coffee and homemade bakery items, without going to downtown Syosset or other areas. It's also a nice large coffee house to sit, work, have a meeting, or hang out with a friend. They roast their own beans and their lattes are excellent. read more

This coffee spot is located somewhere unexpected. It's a great place to get some work done, meet with some friends, or just be at, especially if you are a coffee snob. Mongo roasts their own beans in house and you can watch the process of the coffee beans. This spot really seems to know a lot about coffee and how to pull a good espresso shot. They have a great selection of foods and snacks to choose from. The sandwiches were filling and fresh. Met a friend here for some coffee last week (my first time but not hers) and thought it was a super cute place! I was actually surprised at its location (located by industrial type buildings) and how spacious it was inside (high ceilings as well as big sized room) with different antique style seating options (regular seats, sofa seats, barstool seats). We met on a Saturday around 1pm and it wasn't too busy. More people did start showing up after an hour. Parking wasn't too bad but it wasn't empty either when I arrived. The staff were all so nice and the cashier was helpful when I wasn't sure what I wanted to order as I'm not a coffee expert and not picky. I ended up getting a iced hazelnut caffe latte and a sandwich (forgot which one it was but it was one of the "coast" ones with steak) and was very happy with the flavor of both. The coffee wasn't too sweet or too icy. I felt they had a lot of food (baked goods or sandwiches) and drink choices which was great. Minus one star because I wanted to try their rainbow cake as both my husband and I are BIG fans of rainbow cookies but the cake was very disappointing. Dry and barely any jam in between the layers. Overall though, I would definitely return to this spot in the future! Welcoming decor, great warehouse vibe and cute spot overall for relaxing/hanging out with friends or solo! Someone at work who roasts his own beans in his garage told me about this place so I've been meaning to come here for a while. It's a little bit out of the way but worth it. It's a great open space with high ceilings, roasting machines to the side. It is quite popular when I pulled up to this industrial site with limited parking and lines but I enjoyed my latte and fig fruit toast with Brie. Settled down with nice seating, the dead playing. They roast their own beans which I can't wait to try. I think it's the atmosphere that will bring me back to this place. read more

I wanted a solo date to write and enjoy a hot drink. I went here because my partner loves coffee roaster and wanted me to get the sampler. It was pretty loud and pretty busy as well. There was a long line when I got in, but it was pretty quick. I ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk with an Oreo cookie and it was so good. I think I would have probably liked it more if it were cold, but I needed something to warn me up. The sampler consisted of light, medium, and dark roast. I had a great conversation with Mitchel about the samples and pretty cool stuff. I love that the dark roasted coffee is named Black Lab and he has a black lab named Harley, if I remember correctly. Pretty cool spot. Just get there earlier on a Sunday if you want a table to work. read more

I was in town for work meetings in Jericho and was looking for a good cold brew on my way to the office. I chose Mongo's based on reviews on YELP. It's tucked away in the back of a commercial office park so it's not a location where you get a coffee and go for a walk. This makes sense once you walk in because they use the commercial space for roasting and a public coffee shop. It's a very large space with plenty of room to spread out. Feels almost like a brewery. I came here mid-morning on a weekday and the place was packed with either patrons working, hanging out with friends, or just simply chilling. I ordered their avocado toast and elected to add a poached egg. The avocado is spread on a very hearty slice of grain toast and is paired with an arugula and tomato salad on the side. (You will eat that entire thing and will walk away feeling the perfect amount of full!!) I also ordered a latte and it was extremely fresh and the aromas were *chef's kiss*. They have a plethora of other items on the menu from sandwiches to baked goods. Very nice destination as this is off Robbins Lane tucked into one of the alcoves across from the Escaper the Room and a corner car dealer. Huge, industrial meets country space, with the cute couches put to the side for now. Reminds me a bit of Central Perk on Friends, without the fabric. Nice selection of coffee and tea and their offspring (latte, iced, cold brew, etc) and assorted baked goods. Can accommodate a big group and the high ceilings give a feeling of openness during this time of social distancing. My iced coffee was excellent..and this would be an fantastic space for acoustic live music, trivia night, open mic, poetry slam etc.. when things return to "normal". I loved the rustic concrete and exposed pipes look. Friendly staff, everyone's trying, and they are certainly welcoming. Attention to masks and sanitizer, we felt safe. read more

Went here to study neurology and for some coffee and biscotti. Let's start with the coffee. Coffee was acceptable. Not AMAZING, but no complaints at all. Nothing special. But lemme tell u. Combine them coffee with the biscotti?? Omg. Elevates the coffee experience tremendously. Their biscotti is actually so amazing. Perfect amount of crunchiness, sweetness, and chewiness. Couldn't asked for a better biscotti, imo. Service was good, everyone here was nice. The only issue is that this place is like someone's garage, and they left the garage door wide open. It was January 28th. I was freezing my cheeks off. Had to leave eventually because it was just so cold! To my students, outlet coverage not so good. So charge your devices before you come. Ambiance was good! Was a cute study spot, with many tables and seats, and couches. It was very industrial but also reminded me of a garage too. In a good way. It's quite crowded even on weekdays so you might have to search for a seat but people are in and out. drink options are plentiful and food is substantial. Coffee is delicious but a little pricey. I love a good oat flat white or oat latte. The food, on the other hand, is not worth it. I got the soup of the day and it was still cold :(. I asked them to reheat it but it was still a little cold. I was hoping that an $8.5 soup would be nice and steamy but it wasn't. I've been trying to look for a spacious cafe on LI with good coffee, pastries & ambience My mom and I decided to check out Mongo's after looking at some pictures and we were NOT disappointed. I got the chai tea latte which I thought was a bit too sweet for my taste. But my mom got a caffe latte and it was AMAZING in every single way. Our scone wasn't the best but I'd definitely come back for the spacious interior and coffee. We need more places like this on long island read more

We came to Mongo's after our coffee at breakfast earlier in the day proved tasteless and inadequately caffeinated. The cold brew (always our go-to) was bold and smooth, and finally popped my eyes open after a rough night. My husband got a mushroom and artichoke quiche and said it was spectacular, and well worth the price. We each got a brownie - moist, decadent, and fudge without being overly sweet and sugary. Fantastic new coffee spot churning out fresh brews in a beautifully designed open space. Located in an industrial park so it could be a bit off the beaten path, but it is worth the trek. There's a bunch of teas on tap and a solid menu of pastries and light bites. I heard about this place opening a few months ago and had been meaning to stop in. Their hours weren't the greatest (I believe now they are open til 8 on weeknights, or some weeknights, check their social media), so it made it difficult to swing by. I run a local writing group and we are always looking for meetup spots and this space is perfect. I was greeted by an incredibly kind and polite server at the register. I ordered the iced green tea on tap and the salad and hung out for a bit. They were running the roasters so it was a bit loud, and the server said they really only run them when there aren't a lot of people in the store (it was mid-morning on a weekend). After hearing a lot of things about Mongo's I decided to stop by while in the area. First off, it's a bit hard to find if you haven't been. It's tucked away on a side street in an industrial area. When I walked in I told the employee behind the counter that I've never been here. He said, "We have coffee." Hmm, well clearly I'm not here for a beer. A little more insight would have been helpful. I even told him that I couldn't see the menu in the back due to my poor eyesight. After still no help, I went with a basic iced coffee with almond milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup. It was honestly just okay. For over $4 for iced coffee I expected much better. They also have a point system that I'm guessing you can redeem for free coffee. For my $4 purchase I only earned one point. I'm not sure how it works as I've already stated how unhelpful the employee was. However, at this point, I'm not sure I'd return. read more

Mongo's has a great vibe: laid back, open and comfortable. The service is friendly and excellent. The coffee is the star. I am partial to the Black Lab dark roast. Rich, full flavor, excellent aroma. I also enjoy the Harper's medium roast, which is the best medium roast I have had. Their single origin beans are also excellent. I bring beans home to grind and brew.
