Here again! And again I will say how amazing the staff are! So pleasant and passionate about what they do! Spending quite a bit of time here due to studying, I was able to overhear their passion on the way they address customers and their questions- to the extent of offering samples if need be. Service with a smile and sweet messages as I received my matcha with "you're loved" written on it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love love love the culture and ambiance here, and the coffee and matcha are always on point![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Gregorys Coffee is a clean coffee shop that has plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wouldn't really come here to study because it was a bit loud when I was there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, if you want to just read a book and you don't need to use all of your neurons to concentrate, come on in. The staff is nice but the coffee was okay. I wouldn't order the Nu Mint again. I would come by again to try the different coffee drinks they have.

Apparently I've never reviewed Gregory's Coffee in Melville despite visiting this spot (now) three times. The most recent trip came this past Friday morning and after realizing my review did not yet exist, it was time to write up this solid coffee spot! Now these three experiences were pretty spaced out with two coming more than a year ago, but I won't say it has anything to do with Gregory's not having good coffee. They are somewhat of a NYC chain with a scattered few on Long Island and the surrounding area, but no location is really close to my Suffolk-located home so though Gregory's is good (borderline great), I don't choose to make the trek often. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Having said that, this Melville location would definitely be a regular spot for me if it were closer as it has a botanically contemporary (or contemporarily botanical) vibe to it that's cozy enough to hang out in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Those first two visits I spent a chunk of time enjoying my coffee and it was unfortunate that this past Friday I had work and couldn't hang around. Alas, there is always next time. But let's actually talk about their coffee. Gregory's has a nice variety of options from both hot and cold directions. They also do a handful of seasonal options which I always love to see and try. Prior visits had my wife and I getting the Nu Brew which is cold brew coffee combined with Nutella (it's quite tasty) and the Fall Oat Boy which takes espresso and infuses it with cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup, and hazelnut (pretty tasty stuff as well). This past trip I did a seasonal drink, the Nu Mint which you can guess is that Nu Brew concoction mixed with peppermint. It was pretty tasty albeit maybe a little too sweet. Nevertheless I still enjoyed it. What I also enjoyed this past trip was ordering online in advance. I was able to setup the time slot, run in, grab my coffee and go (a la Starbucks or Dunkin'). No big staff interactions occurred other than a "Good morning" but I can't say I've had any negative experiences with employees. I will say that the price for their 24oz coffee, after tax (and tip, if you feel the desire to), can bring the price to something close to $10. A little steep, but even so, I'd give it a whirl now and then if Gregory's was a tad closer. Overall, can Gregory's open a tad closer? This is my plug for a deeper Suffolk spot (c'mon Gregory, let's go!). I forgot to add they open at 6:30 AM which definitely would work on my weekday commutes. Though like I said, Gregory's can be a tad pricy (perhaps not anything that much greater than Starbucks) and indeed my seasonal drink selection was a little sweeter than expected, but I'd definitely return to Gregory's again. Hopefully this next trip won't be in a year!

I came here in passing and I was very happy I did . The staff was very friendly and greeted me as I came in! Ordered the Iced Biscotti...got a plain looking iced coffee! Tasted like a regular bed coffee as well:/. I asked where was the orange bits and slice...said had no more. If I would've known that I would've ordered something else. Advice- just tell patrons what's available and what's not before they spend 7 on a bland ice coffee.

    Gingerbread Latte

Stopped in for a coffee and breakfast. First impression walking in, I loved the clean style of decor and aesthetics. The barista was very nice and made ordering easy. I ended up ordering a gingerbread latte with oat milk and The Deluxe breakfast sandwich. I really liked the gingerbread latte, but I feel like the breakfast sandwich could've been a little bit bigger, especially for the price and the fact that they call it, "The Deluxe." It seemed like it was just a premade, tiny croissant breakfast sandwich that was warmed up. Which I get because it is a chain and I wasn't expecting it to be made to order or anything but I was a little underwhelmed. I decided to dine inside, and I felt like the dining area could've been cleaner. The tables were a little dirty and so were the seats. Some of the seats were run down and had rips on them, even though the place seems like it's pretty new. The barista also didn't take my name, so when my order was ready, they called my items out two separate times. I heard them call out for my latte, but I didn't hear them call my sandwich so I don't know how long it was actually sitting there and I wasn't sitting too far from the counter. I feel like improvements could definitely be made to help fix these small issues. I would probably go back for coffee, but not the food.

They are advertising online and in store the "Love Affair" latte but it is no longer available and doesn't sound like it will be back, I was a bit disappointed because I had my heart set on it. I ordered an iced matcha latte instead and it was good but nothing spectacular. The vibe inside is really cool, lots of greenery & white, definitely seems like a California based company, which I love. The barista was friendly and quick.

    Karen R.

The place is clean, I had read some older reviews stating it wasn't but when I visited it was spotless. Cute decor, open concept style with plenty of seating inside & out. The design of it gave little separate spaces which made it cozy. I ordered a mocha it was very good. Staff was nice, but not overly friendly. I wish coffee shops that show latte art on their website actually have baristas that can do that. I stayed inside and like coffee out of a real cup not paper with a lid. So I also wished they recycled. For a chain it was very good. The quality of the coffee was great!

This place is Clean and cute! Really simple . I had the Apple cinnamon muffin and the fruit smoothie - gotta be honest neither one tastes great. Service at the counter was great but the wait was long and it seemed empty. I think they may have been handling online orders as well. Love the seating area and design tho. Nice spot not sure I would come back tho

Adorable coffee shop with lots of tables spaced apart. Service was spectacular. Barista was friendly and personable. I ordered a "Profee." It's a cold brew with vanilla protein mixed into the milk. I honestly didn't get any of the vanilla flavoring and the coffee tasted watery. I paid $8 for this coffee and expected it to be spectacular. I'll just stick with my DD salted caramel cold brew. This is overpriced so called coffee

My wife and I recently checked Mokafe out twice a couple weeks apart with each experience being pretty solid. Round 1 consisted of just coffee drinks which you'd expect to get from a place like this as the name has Middle Eastern connections to the coffee of that region. What you might not expect is the list of speciality lattes they have as they really load in some unique options (Kinder Bueno latte?!). My tiramisu latte was exceptional while my wife's Nutella latte also hit the spot. Round 2 we leveled things up by still getting coffee, but we also dove into some food options as I ordered the Turkish bagel with olives and my wife got the strawberry Nutella flat croissant. Starting with the sweet, that croissant was fantastic and definitely something unique. My bagel was also pretty legit though not a LI-type bagel as this was flakier with that olive spread inside many bites. Different to what I'm used to, but still quite enjoyable. What wasn't as spot on was my pistachio latte. Not a bad drink as Mokafe seems to handle their espresso well, but I couldn't really grasp any pistachio flavor. I'll try a different latte next time (plenty to choose from!). Before wrapping things up, let's tackle a few other important pieces. Setting is superb in the comfy (albeit green) booths and large amount of seating. It's definitely a cozy spot to sit and enjoy your cafe goods, though the music is sometimes a bit loud and kind of takes away from a place you'd feel like you could maybe get some work done. Pricing is pretty fair with a 24oz iced latte coming in at $7.50 which isn't too shabby with some places definitely over that dollar point. And staff were nice enough for our quick interactions, and they'll also bring out and/or buzzer when your drinks/food are ready which all occurred pretty quickly/smoothly. Overall, Mokafe is a delight. The setting is cool, the menu is sizable, the food/drink choices are pretty tasty, and the whole spot is rather unique to a coffee scene that honestly could be getting a little oversaturated so it's nice to see something different. I know a second Hicksville location just opened, so now let's work on getting one of these a little more east of Melville!

While I don't always expect an overly cheerful greeting, the service was very plain and lacked a smile. Even when I mentioned it was my first time, the staff seemed indifferent. I ordered an egg and cheddar cheese biscuit and a small coffee with sugar-free French vanilla and almond milk, which came to $15. I also picked up two mini pies for $14. The breakfast sandwich was okay, but for the price, I expected more cheese and a bit more flavor. However, the mini pastries were absolutely delicious! I would 100% come back just for those. The store itself was very clean.
