Don't understand the popularity of this place. Food was ok but spent $70 on breakfast for 3 people. That's insane.

Great food. Fun breakfast cocktails. Convenient parking. There was no wait for a table at 9am on a Holiday, which was a wonderful surprise. The chicken fried steak is great, classic style with a big pile of potatoes on the side and a couple of eggs. More than enough food for a single person, but not excessive. The bloody mary flight is lots of fun. The bacon was probably my favorite. But, the jalapeno and dill were quite good as well. When you first walk in it feels a little old fashioned but that's not an issue. The place is amazing and has awesome customer service! The food is also amazing and I've been there many of times. Food: I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak meal with toast, eggs and country potatoes. The meal was also served with a bit of fresh fruit, which I absolutely appreciated. Everything was tasty. Service: It was a bit poor. The server was probably overwhelmed because I came with a huge group of people. Came here during memorial weekend and there was only a 10 min wait. Not bad! They also had ample outdoor seating where we could sit while we wait for our table. Service was speedy and friendly. I ordered the veggie omelette which had loads of spinach, peppers, with some cheesy bites. There were other veg too but I don't remember. It was a good balance of light, filling, with bites of cheese. The potatoes were ok in my opinion, seemed like an afterthought. The biscuit was crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Exactly what you want when u picture the perfect biscuit. My partner ordered the biscuits and gravy with 3 eggs. The gravy was DELISH. Loved it and was jelly since I chose the healthy route. Stopped in Chico to visit some friends and they raved about Mom's. So of course we had to try it! We had a party of 4 adults, a baby and a dog. The wait was pretty long. It was a Sunday morning though, so no surprise. We were told about 45 minutes and it took about an hour but it was fine. The weather was nice! Just be prepared to have a wait. Once we got to our table, it was pretty quick between getting our menus and then our food. The service was mostly great. Our server was slow to get us sauce or refill our drinks, but he was really fast in getting us our orders. I got the chilaquiles and it was very good! My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy which were great too. HUGE though. 3 eggs and 2 biscuits. The prices were awesome for the proportions! This place is always has a line outside waiting but they seat you pretty timely. There is a large outdoor seating area off Salem and 2nd St where you can sit and enjoy a meal with your 4-legged pals. The interior vibe is country kitchen and the meals are just that - large portions for us country folk. The generous portions can be shared for sure or grab a to-go box to enjoy your leftovers later. The service was outstanding from the hostess to the sever. The coffee was hot and creamer with added vanilla flavoring was a hit. This place confuses me, plenty of customers and some of the dishes like the corned beef hash suggest they care about putting the time into making stuff from scratch. I can appreciate that. What confuses me is how it seems like there are corners being cut. The last few times I've been here I eat at the bar, and I've noticed that the waitresses never sanitize the bar. I noticed the waitress today cleaned up after the person next to me by sweeping up crumbs with her hand, and then without washing her hands put new silverware down on the unsanitized surface for the next guest. I would assume that the bar staff should be the most proficient waiters and waitresses out of the whole restaurant, and I noticed the bussers for the main dining area use a spray bottle of sanitizer. Also noticed that when I order my eggs over hard that every single yolks is broken, I'm assuming this is on purpose? As a breakfast spot, this place has the potential to be five stars for me but missing the mark on some obvious stuff. read more

This place was highly recommended to us and it did not disappoint. There's plenty of seating inside and outside, but if the weather is nice I like to sit outside. The food here is very good. My friend ordered the vegetable scramble and she enjoyed it. The veggie hash was my favorite item of the morning. We ordered a screwdriver and the bloody Mary flight. Wow! This place was great. So we were in town just dropping our son off for school and searched Yelp to find a place to eat and noticed all the 5-star reviews and said we gotta go in. There was a big crowd outside and the wait was about 30 minutes. The wait was worth it. Everything on the menu looked great so it was hard to decide but I saw someone with a BLT and agreed I had to have that. I've never had a bacon sandwich with this much bacon, it had about 8-10 pieces of bacon, almost a full pound. It was so good. My wife had the grilled cheese and loved it. Having spent Mother's Day at Mom's a couple of years ago while visiting Chico, I was happy to return now that we've moved to town. The warm, cozy vibe still makes Mom's special -- amiable staff and charming decor (we love the Tiffany-style lamps) welcome us -- and the menu and beverage options (and portions) are delightful. My ABC (avocado, bacon, cheddar) omelette was a generous size and full of flavor, served alongside slices of watermelon and orange plus a biscuit with apple butter, and my mimosa ("Mommy's Little Helper") was perfect, filled to the brim! A huge shout-out to awesome Karen, who was our friendly server from our first visit a few years ago and who went above and beyond for us again, especially as we had our two grandsons in tow this time and Karen has a wonderful way with little kids. I'm a suckered for chicken fried steak and eggs, and it was on the pricier side ($17) and my serving was on the smaller side. Good flavor, but not a great that really was worth $17. Plus, the potatoes came out soggy which is never a good time at brunch. However, they check the boxes when it came to typical offerings like bacon, eggs, and toast that were served during our visit. The food was delicious and I chose to go here because I saw they had gluten free options(you can have gluten free bread/toast,and gluten free pancakes or waffles. The sat is down pretty quickly and the atmosphere is unique, And the staff are friendly. I'm sad to say I was disappointed with the food here. The chilaquiles was more like a omelet with a few chips inside. They were already out of chicken and waffles by 9:30 am! And my daughters French toast was just basic French toast. Nothing special. We even got a grilled cheese to go for later, they forgot to give us the sauce that was supposed to come with it and it was honestly just a basic grilled cheese.
