We ordered the Chicken Pesto and the NY Pastrami- Reuben style sandwiches on Focaccia bread and both were absolutely delicious. We had the side salad that was included though we wish we had maybe a chip option instead. The restaurant is located up stairs and has local art for sale, as the decor, against the beautiful brick walls. Our server was Goose and he was excellent!! read more

Broadway Heights self review on their menu touts their house made Pastrami rivals that of Katz deli in New Jersey. Eager to try its goodness, I was sadly disappointed. I ordered it on their signature focaccia bread which is alway delicious, but they grilled the pastrami, making it stringy and tough. I have always had it served cold, sliced thin and piled high. The meat was difficult to chew and tasteless. My second issue was that I requested my side be their pasta salad, but instead received a green salad. Service was very slow from order to receipt of food, so I just accepted what I received. There were only a total of 4 other parties present, so the place was not busy, but maybe they were short in the kitchen. This has always been one of my favorite 'go to' lunch spots in Chico. Not sure I will be back. read more

Wow! What a great sandwich, huge portion. I shared the pastrami on focaccia and side salad with my husband. Plenty of food for two foodies. Very kind service from the server who had been there over 17 years. Highly recommend the pastrami sandwich, delish, reminds you of the Katz deli NYC style pastrami in flavor. Love this place. Been here with my husband many times (even while we were still dating) Recently we ordered delivery, and the food was great! Sandwiches were made to perfection, pizza was bomb and cooked perfectly, (and still hot when it arrived!) and delicious pasta salad, as usual. Oh! I haven't been back to this place since I was in college around 2007 and I am grateful to report it has not changed much. Known for a strawberry lemonade and its focaccia bread sandwiches the spicy turkey is to this day one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever eaten. The Caesar salad that came with it was perfectly mixed, and I had a hard time not finishing the whole plate. I'm excited that they're still around and still original and I will definitely return next time I'm in Chico. read more

Delish lunch! Had the special grilled Ruben with a salad, but my only complaint ...they charged me 4$ for blue cheese crumbles on my salad...really? The sandwich was off to he chart good, my wife had the chicken bacon melt and was also amazing... this the five star! My son had the creamy chicken pesto and tomato soup and raved about it! Again only disappointment was they added $4 for blue cheese crumbles! We come to eat regularly as a family and today was the second time we were fully ignored as we waited to be seated. It was 1.5 hours before closing and the dining room had 2-3 tables seated. Two different waitress were working and they were whispering back and forth to each other. The blonde waitress walked past us, went to the little stock room to the side to speak to who i assume is the manager ( long hair, goatee, usually always wearing a deep red shirt) walked past us again, and went about her business behind the counter. It felt really rude and unnecessary. Not one moment on acknowledgement. We love the food here but today left a bad taste in our mouths. It was hurtful. We didn't say anything and walked back out. We'll probably take a long break. What a bummer. read more

I feel compelled to write after having yet another great meal at Broadway Heights. Between the three of us, we had sliders, a BLT, the parmesan chicken sandwich, soup and the pasta salad. None of the above disappointed , and all the sandwiches were served on the most amazingly fresh focaccia ("made daily") bread. Servers and kitchen staff always friendly and efficient. Be sure to do yourself a favor and get a slice of Dawn's home cooked cheesecake. This trip we did take out, but when we eat there and are lucky enough to sit by a window, it's really nice to look down on Chico streets. Can say enough about each and every experience we've had there. read more

Maybe today was an off day, but I doubt I'll return to Broadway Heights. The good: roomy, centrally located, pleasant atmosphere. The rest of the story: the tomato garlic soup was almost pure garlic; the pastrami sandwich on focaccia was dry and disappointing; service was friendly but v.e.r.y. slow. No one at my table of six commented on the food, which is a first since we pick a different restaurant every month to enjoy the different foodie possibilities in town. I enjoyed seeing my friends but cannot commend the food. read more

Not at all what I was expecting from the photos. This spot is located on the second floor of the building, which honestly confused my friend and I since we didn't see any signs for the place. The food here was just okay. the grilled cheese with bacon was good, but it was a very greasy. The turkey pesto melt was very bland and the bread wasn't toasted. I was hoping this place had a full bar, but they just serve wine. I was pretty disappointed when we left, so we just took a car down to another spot and had a great time there. read more

Our wonderful waitress, Dawn told us they smoke and steam their pastrami in-house-She said it was the best in Chico. My dad says it's the best pastrami sandwich he's ever had! The food, service and ambiance was on point. I enjoyed the historical building and seating upstairs, near the window and in the middle of a local art display. We had every intention of having a healthy dinner until my son was tempted by the spicy stuffed focaccia ring. The focaccia was filled with cream cheese, mozzarella, bacon and jalapeños. It was SO good with all the gooey cheese and the toasty focaccia. I enjoyed my rosemary chicken salad. The giant salad was filled with fresh greens and well made chicken breast. Love the place, our waiter Goose was awesome and recommend pastrami which the in-laws loved. He was also so on top of it with the drinks you couldn't be thirsty if you wanted to. I had the grilled veggie sandwich and the pasta salad, everything was excellent. They did raise the prices which is always a bummer but that just means going there will be a bit more special occasion. If you get a chance you have to try it. read more

We went on a weekend at lunch time. Parking was relatively easy, but may become an issue as this is in the busy part of downtown. Great sandwiches with freshly baked bread. Good vegetarian options too. Definitely worth repeat visits to try other sandwiches and desserts.
