This is easily one of Chico's most pleasantly surprising spots. From the outside, tucked beside a gas station, it doesn't hint at how fresh and flavorful the food truly is. But step inside and you'll find an impressive variety of wraps, smoothies, juices, tacos, superfoods, warm dishes, pastries, espresso drinks and plenty of vegan options. Last winter, their chicken tortilla soup was outstanding--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. On my most recent visit (02/21/2026), I ordered a grilled chicken wrap loaded with alfalfa sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, olives, hummus, corn, and cayenne pepper. It was genuinely delicious--a word I don't use lightly for food in Chico. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable. I also tried the "Monkey Power" smoothie with hemp seeds, white chocolate powder, peanut butter, and banana--wow, it was amazing. Tourists!!!....we found this mom and pop run small cafe in the Chevron gas station lot near our regular go to hotel when we visit family. We've eaten here at least eight times. Get to go is good too. We found it while I was gassing up and saw many people walking in to order. The husband wife team cook up some great chow here. My partner and I went out for brunch to this place and it did not disappoint. Beautiful on the inside; family friendly and whimsical. This cafe even supports local artists by selling art and allowing posters to be displayed. There's interactive wall art for children to play with and a lot of seating to get comfortable with. We ordered two bomb croissants (or monster croissants I don't remember) but they set my standards hight for sandwiches. We had the best fries of our life here, I didn't even get a picture before they were gone. And the people working there were so kind and patient when we took a while looking at the menu (its pretty long). I recommended my friend to go the same day. We will be coming back! read more

I like that they display peoples art on the walls, its a nice way to support artists. I don't like that all their merch (tote bags, shirts, tumblers) is all clearly AI generated slop. Super cute & spacious place with lots of comfy couch seating as well as tables. Local art all over the walls. Super healthy and delicious food! They even have legit vegan and GF options! I mean just check out their menu-- there is so much to choose from! They also have 2 glass cases right when you walk in with ice cream, baked deserts, and egg bites. The chef is amazing & very helpful (she is in the back but also brings orders out) Our food was so bomb & looked beautiful too! All staff are friendly and helpful, and their service is pretty dang quick. My fiancé got the monster burrito and I got the veggie bagel with a side of perfectly fluffy & crisp potatoes. Well, this is a cleanliness post. Since it's opening I've probably eaten here 1-2 times per year. Not a frequent flyer in this establishment. This isn't because the food isn't satisfactory, it's just because it's not a convenient location. Today I came in to grab a breakfast burrito on my way home. My order was taken quickly and this is where it went sideways. The customer only bathroom is locked (probably because of the homeless population down the street and other local close by businesses that do not offer bathrooms) so I asked for the code to the bathroom and was handed a large wooden wrench looking thing with a key attached wrapped in paper napkin. I opened the door to the bathroom and realized that this bathroom has not been thoroughly cleaned in at least a month. There was poop splatter on the back of the toilet and the rim of the toilet and most likely mop water splash back on the tank of the toilet. The toilet bowl was decorated with orange mildew (not hard water staining - but if it was, daily cleaning would stop that from happening). The sink looked as though it had also been a dumping ground for the mop water, and has never been deep cleaned (a magic sponge or the pink stuff and a good scrub would take the dirty grime off of the porcelain). I brought the key back and proceeded to tell one of the young girls that the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, explaining what I saw and she looked horrified however, absolutely nothing was done about it in my time in the restaurant or while I've been sitting in the parking lot (which has been at least a good 30 minutes). I'm pretty sure the manager/owner was there and heard my discussion with the employee. This makes me nervous for eating in this establishment moving forward because if they cared so little about a "public" bathroom that should be deep cleaned every single day, what else are they not deep cleaning? I want to be clear this was not a one day or one week's worth of not cleaning. This falls back to the owner/manager for making sure cleaning schedules and levels of cleanliness are followed. BTW, I threw away my burrito because I couldn't bring myself to eat it after thinking about what else may not be clean if that is the standard of cleanliness they have for public spaces! read more

Found this little spot on Yelp! I like that they have a ton of options. Desserts are made in house. And I like the organic coffee and tea options! Prices are pretty steep in my opinion, but thankfully I feel like they did a good job of stuffing my burrito. It wasn't a lame burrito that left me regretting the $12 I spent lol. Not only did they forget the to put the stuff in the wrap that I paid extra for but THIS is what half of a $16 wrap looks like! I'm sorry but what? Absolutely ridiculous! These wraps used to be huge. I've never considered them to be inexpensive but they were at least big wraps that you could get full on. It's like they've literally cut them down by 50%. Something that unfortunately far too many businesses are doing these days. Raising prices while simultaneously giving smaller portions. Absolute rip off. On right side not only did they refund me (as they should) but they also refunded me for the second wrap and let me keep it. Cool and all but certainly isn't a reason to go there ever again. And while I got refunded it's only because I said something whereas most people don't and just suck it up and get ripped off. i don't know man. i thought about this place from time to time because it was that good. today i returned because my friend n i were heading up to portland doing a road trip. i was so excited but i guess also prepared myself that its not gonna be the same as 5 years ago esp from the more recent reviews. i gotta say it still tastes awesome but its shrunk so much. i couldn't remb what the price was in 2019, but in 2024, this little thing costed me around 16.50 plus the 15% tip. so almost $19. eeeeeh, i just can't say its worth it anymore. can you at least give 3 full slices of roast beef? :( also attached a pic of my friends pastrami sandwich. also very small read more

Sandwich, wrap, juice & smoothie were tasty, but... -bathroom was filthy!! -ordered sandwich without onions and when I received it, it was filled with raw red onions. The employee first just started picking the onions out, but I asked to have it remade due to an onion allergy. She remade the sandwich, but did not change her gloves first and didn't use a clean knife. Very disappointing allergen practices, or lack thereof -All of the chips on display were expired! Some by well over a month. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, she said that she doesn't have anything to do with that... I really wanted to like this place and support a local spot. I've tried. I had heard ownership changed (not confirmed by me) but the place is still the same, sadly. The first time I came I actually liked my breakfast burrito(but I was pregnant) and so did my kid- it's nice to have a casual place for quick and healthy-ish dining. Nobody else in my party liked their food though. A ground beef burrito for breakfast doesn't quite hit the spot I guess. There's so much potential though! When you think of "fresh" you don't think of gross and nasty sofas in a corner. New owner or whomever, these need to go. I also think they'd do well to simplify their menu. I can't imagine having as many ingredients as they do is cost effective or profitable. There's some real good looking stuff that's not on the menu but some of the trinkets and such belong at the Thursday night market and not at the cash register. And oof, $11 for a smoothie?!? the smoothies don't taste worth $10. I'd happily spend $10 for a really good smoothie but this wasn't it. When the strip mall you're in is dreary, you really need to engage repeat customers by making it feel more like a fresh oasis upon entry when you've got fresh in your name. I stop at PDQ often because it's close to where I work. Stay in the lot and go to the right and there you'll find a little place called Fresh Twisted Cafe. I had seen it, but never made it over there to check it out, until a friend gave me a gift card! I had to try it now. Before going there, I checked their menu online and looked at all the offerings. I ultimately decided on a hamburger (got the meal which includes a side, got potato salad, and a drink, got Root Beer) and a salad. The total came to $27, a little pricey for me. I had a $15 gift card, which brought it down to just $12. I waited on one of the leather couches while I waited. The inside, for the dining/waiting area, is dimly lit, but I don't mind that. It adds some comfort, that's how I feel about it. I prefer to eat somewhere else rather than inside the business when it's really busy, because that's just my preference. A lot of people in a place makes me uncomfortable. After some time, my order was brought out to me, I left and tried my order in the car. The hamburger was pretty juicy and tender, the tomato, lettuce and pickle that I had them put on it where fresh and fine. Now, although the hamburger pleased my taste buds, it didn't blow me away. It wasn't excellent. It was reasonably good. The potato salad, on the other hand, stood out compared to potato salads at other places. I really liked it. Went perfectly as a side. A little later, I tried the salad. $10 for the salad. The container it came in was full, so I got a nice amount for the price. I got Spring Greens, Romaine lettuce, along with Garbanzo beans, Pepper Jack cheese, cherry tomatoes, croutons and vegan Ranch on the side. The salad was pretty good, fresh and crisp lettuce, but the Ranch and cheese were overpowering at times. If I ever get a salad again, I'll ask for less cheese and try a different dressing. The food I ordered pleased me, but for the price (okay, I ordered two items, normally people order one when they come here), I'm not sure the food was dazzling enough to make me want to return. Also, even though I ordered two items, it took both to make me feel full. The service was great, people were friendly and helpful, no complaints there, however, I just don't think this place did it for me to make it a regular on my list of places to go to for breakfast, lunch or dinner. read more

I had two vegan bowls and the vegetarian burrito made vegan by removing the eggs and dairy products. The guy was knowledgeable about what would be vegan, and helped out a lot. Probably won't be going back. Sandwich was small for $14. Even with today's inflation, I would expect a sandwich of that size to be $8-10 at most. Bread was soggy in less than 10 min from being made. Service was neither quick or very slow. Sandwich tasted about the same as if I made it at home. They also suggested tipping before they provided any service. The first time I was here I had just a smoothie, which was tasty! Another time I tried one of their burritos and it was yummy too. I had the meatless chorizo and it was super tasty (but a big spicy and saucy!). My friend is a huge fan of their croissant sandwiches as well. The only thing that I question about this place is the cleanliness. My fiancé has seen more of it than I have, and felt a little uncomfortable with the lack of cleanliness behind the counter. I can't vouge for that since I haven't seen it myself, but he's usually not one to comment on that aspect of a restaurant so it just made me skeptical. I have never had a bad experience though. This place is the bomb. Unfortunately I don't live here to come more often. Yesterday I had the beef breakfast burrito. Today I came back for another before I leave town. Found out the meat is bbq'd to order so that's another reason it was so outstanding. It also had a good bit of bacon in it. Just delicious. And the coffee was awesome, good and strong but not bitter. The customer service and the way I was talked to by the guy in the glasses that works there was absolutely disrespectful! The prices are outrageous for a tasteless and frozen, pink burger patty (asked for well done). When I called to let them know that they did not include the condiments, that man called me a horrible person and that I was lying. He told me that he was sorry that I was having a bad day and hung up on me after I told him this is awful customer service. I highly recommend that you do not visit this business! I have eaten here a few times and consistently found their food to be fresh and delicious. Atmosphere: Passing artwork for sale on the walls the front counter is the place to make your order. They provide smoothie samples upon request. However, the sandwiches, burgers, warps, and salads are order by slips of paper you fill out. This area of the place is a little cramped for me but I focus on the menu. I pay and take my number holder to any table that is free. Waiting I tried some of the infused water and found it light on cucumber and such. I glanced at the tv in the kids area but the channel was not anything I was into. The walls are decorated with paintings that are for sale although nothing quite stood out to me. Service: The staff is friendly and quick to take orders. When my food came around they brought it to my table. Value: The food and smoothies are a bit more expensive than what I am accustomed to in Orange County (maybe 20%). The quality, however, compels me to return. The sodas made in store were not to my liking but the smoothies may be the best I have ever had. The burgers did not wow me like "The Habit" and such but the sandwiches are up there; especially the turkey. They have gluten free options for those who are so inclined.
