I've been a regular at Lofi ever since they opened their expanded location at the corner of James Square. I moved to Paradise in the summer of 2024, and for about a year and a half I could not find a coffee joint that was both convenient and a local enterprise I could feel good about supporting. I don't recall the first time I entered Lofi, because by the time they re-opened I had somehow already integrated the morning visit into my regular routine. I can't tell you about the individual drinks, because I've tried each and every combination the guys behind the counter have to offer, or near enough. I can tell you that Jared, Garret, and everyone else in the family involved with Lofi are some of the best people you could ask for to provide the kind of neighborhood center a town still in the throes of reconstruction like Paradise desperately needs. I am moving away from Paradise today, but I'll miss the times spent as (often) the very first customer of the day. Thank you Lofi! read more

Last night, my friend had her 40th birthday in Paradise. We ate at Lofi Cafe. it was my first time going there and I wanted to give it a little bit of a shout out and encourage others to give it a shot too. They hold events & allowed the birthday girl to put up some things to celebrate her birthday. We were allowed to order any drink such as specialty coffees, iced teas, sparkling, sodas, etc. And they also set out some water, iced tea, and a mango guava punch which were unlimited. each guest got to have two fusion tacos and a side of potato salad. Their fusion tacos were served on Naan and had really good ingredients. The two tacos that we were served one was Greek and one was Barbecue. They were very well balanced, and you can tell that there was a lot of care put into them. What I loved most about the tacos is the filling was different than what you would normally see for a taco. So for example, the barbecue had an apple slaw with pulled pork and the Greek taco had this mixture of zucchini and chickpeas with chicken. The potato salad had sun-dried tomatoes in it, and it was definitely different than I've ever had for a potato salad and it was delicious. For dessert, we were serve some cookies and a brownie. They were also very good. When I got a chance to sit down with my friend and talk to her about the food. She mentioned that they do pop up dinner sometimes, that the breakfast & lunch sandwiches are really good and that they make a lot of item "house made" for their drinks and their food . We also enjoy their butterscotch coffee and the Almond Joy and I'm told they make the butterscotch themselves. The staff/owners were great and were really trying to be so accommodating to our group. So if you're looking for a delicious breakfast or a relaxing lunch or looking for a place to have an event, I would check them out. They definitely inspired me to visit again. read more

I visited twice within two weeks. My first order went very well -- the older lady behind the counter answered all my questions about dietary restrictions seemingly with no issue. On my second visit it was actually less busy and the same older lady was behind the counter taking orders and covering the register. I was trying to decide on my next meal and was asking a lot of questions. She responded dismissively by saying, she "didn't have time for my questions." When I mentioned that she had answered all my questions the week prior, nothing changed so I pointed out that it was much busier the week prior compared to me being there for the second time, she maintained her viewpoint. I understand she was filling in while her daughter was on maternity leave at that time but that's still not an excuse to treat customers poorly, especially around dietary needs. Because of that interaction, I won't be returning. No second chance from me. If you have dietary restrictions, I'd think twice. read more

my mid bike ride stop happened to be this gem. super nice and welcoming people working as well. I wasn't super hungry so I just got a cookie & a thai tea. you can't go wrong with a giant home made choc chip cookie. but the main reason i'm leaving the review is their thai tea!! Had heard a lot of good about Lofi and finally got to check it out. Their schedule isn't the best for me cause of the closing early and closed on Sunday I believe it is. But it was pretty delicious. I ordered the Spicy Guey? (Everything?)Bagel with hot turkey, melted Gouda, pickled jalapeños and some sauce. It was really good and I'd definitely come back for it. I forgot what the wife got but it was a plain bagel with egg and ham? With some jam. It was good but too sweet for me personally. Both of us got drinks, I got the salmon Joy blended. She got a Carmel mocha. Hers tasted good, mine was good but a little strong with the artificial flavoring for me. But I mean I ordered a candy drink I shouldn't be shocked ha. Only two workers so it was a little slow(got our food a bit before our drinks) but they handled it well for being short staffed. Parking is plentiful with no DMV or anything too popular in this shopping center area. Inside they have a couch area to chill, which very much brings that Lofi or hipster vibe, I believe they had a piano or something as well? I didn't pay too much attention but they may have live music? Seats and tables are decently spaced but the area seems large enough to space out a bit more. I loved the black walls and ceiling along with the white splashes on the opposite walls. It looks nice overall. After this long ramble I'll say I'd definitely return. I do wish the menu was a bit bigger and maybe a dinner option/hours would make it perfect but of course it's going for that coffee cafe situation. read more

After reading all the 5 star reviews, I was excited to go have lunch there. The staff are wonderful, but tbh the sandwich was a disappointment. I got the veg-head. It said it came with quiche. I was expecting either a mini quiche or a tiny slice on the side. Instead they have an egg patty inside the sandwich. It is not quiche if its not in pastry. Just call it an egg patty, similar to what is in an egg mcmuffin. Or even frittata. The sandwich was tasty but not one to dream about. Best part was the staff, very attentive & friendly. Whenever we're in Chico visiting our family, we literally make a special drive up to Paradise to come to LoFi and enjoy their ambiance, Jammin Hams, and lattes. This place is a hidden gem. The food is AMAZING and fresh, the owners know so much about flavors, and they are such kind people to boot. They absolutely dote on our baby when we come in. Last time, we were actually in town for my father in law's memorial service and the hour we spent at this cafe was truly a much needed respite from a bleak weekend. This place is so amazing! I ordered the Turkey Pesto Sandwich on gluten free bread. They had one of the best gluten free breads I've ever had and the sandwich was AMAZING!!! I went back a few days later because I couldn't stop thinking about the sandwich haha. First time I went I also ordered a Carmel Macchiato which was also very good! I'm visiting Paradise and was recommended this place for breakfast. While I didn't try any drinks, I did have the food and each time I went it was delicious (I got the Bleu Me Away). The staff was friendly, my only complaint was that every time I went in the staff didn't greet me for several minutes. I just kind of stood there like a ghost in front of them until they were ready. Chef Kramer and staff (his family) continuously knock it out of the park when it comes to upscale sandwiches and coffee based drinks. IF you are looking for a quick generic bite and average cup of coffee, then don't bother stopping at James Square... BUT if you want something a little bit more, don't mind for it to be freshly prepared in front of you, and some of the best coffee beverages, (at least the some of the best I have had) then this is the place! Just had the "Goin Ham" sandwich on sourdough, and I wanna go back and get another one for dinner. Calm relaxed atmosphere, eat in or take out.
