Bad service, bad espresso drinks. I want to like this place but am constantly dissapointed in the service and the quality of their drinks. I just ordred a $6 latte and asked for less milk- they made my drink and it tastes just like milk with very little espresso so I went up to the cashier and asked to buy an extra shot to add to my badly made drink and they tried to charge me $4 for an extra shot on my already $6 bad espresso drink. She couldn't be less bothered and when I said that was too much she just shrugged. What has happened to customer service and quality control. She should have asked what was wrong with my drink OR LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE. I wasn't even asking for a free shot, I would have paid but you don't charge a full espresso shot for an added shot. The fall of their quality of Matcha. Unfortunately this place took a big hit with their quality of matcha. I'm not sure when it happened but it's grainy and lacking color. It looks like a gloomy cup of green these days, rather than a bright and saturated green. Flavor composition is also down, it tastes cheap and made with tea extract. read more

What a great niche coffee shop. Easy to find. Ample parking. Just as I'd want a coffee spot. Lots of comfy seating choices inside and out. Love the plants and upstairs vibe if you're a keyboard warrior. Went 2 days in a row when I was in town. First the orange latte got my attention. Orange, cinnamon, cardamom, etc. took my breath away. The next day I went back, they had changed at the menu and had a seasonal berry sage latte. I never had an experience like that but oh my goodness, it was my everything! So many flavors all in one cup. Sheer perfection. Great food too. The Avo toast and brekkie burrito were very generous servings and tasted like heaven. What a gem! We were looking for a coffee during our trip to Lassen Volcano since I needed my daily dose of "fancy coffee." This place is amazing. Spacious, adorably decorated, and yes, lots of options for fancy coffee . They also serve good selection of tea and food. We tried the latte, the chico fog, and their breakfast burritos. Came in to grab a coffee on my way home from a hike. 2 people in line in front of me. Gal who took my order was friendly, repeated it back to me, and sent it off to the barista. I waited 18 minutes and several people came and went after me picking up their orders. I approached the counter and inquired about my order. The barista pointed to a large cup off to the side that was clearly not what I ordered. I politely said "that's not what I ordered" and continued to inform the barista of what my order had been. She just stood there and stared back at me clueless about what to do. The gal who initially took order came over and argued with me about what I ordered! I said "that's not what I ordered, you repeated it back to me when I ordered it...". Her response "well that's what I charged you for". I was dumbfounded, instead of just making me what I wanted they both argued with me and then admitted to charging me more for a beverage that I never wanted! I decided to turn and walk away. While looking over the menu for something to eat, the cashier was visibly annoyed that I asked her about the 'chili bacon'. While taking our order I could barely hear her meek voice over the noisy machines tight next to us. After asking her to repeat herself a couple times, she still didn't speak up. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, breakfast tacos, a kid's cocoa(no whip because that's 75¢ extra) and an iced caramel latte. The drinks came out first, checking my kid's cocoa it definitely wasn't kid temp! Way too hot to serve to a child, and they didn't give a lid. My latte didn't taste flavored or sweetened at all, and considering they charge an extra dollar just for flavor, I expected to actually taste it. As soon as I set down our drinks upstairs they called for our food. They should've just served them at the same time IMO. The tacos were very sad looking and lacked flavor and substance. The breakfast sandwich was excellent according to my son. Neither were worth $10 each though. All in all, if I'm going to spend $30+ on breakfast for two, I'd prefer to not leave still hungry. I tried a decaf americano and a breakfast burrito and I loved both. The breakfast burrito was the perfect size and had a great salsa. Revisited a few times since my first time trying this place. The worker let me know the maple almond scones were pretty good and it was definitely one of the better scones I've ever had. Definitely would get again, but they've been out the last few times I've been back. Also tried their lox toast and while I felt it was on the smaller side, it was delicious! So disappointed. Day Camp used to be my favorite place but after yesterday I'm not supporting them. Long line in the morning for the on-the-way-to-work crowd. Gal in front of me waits her turn, probably 15-20 min, and orders a Cortado to-go. The staff person at the register says they don't do cortados to-go??? Gal says, "Oh if you don't have 4oz cups that's totally fine, a larger cup partway full is ok, I have to run to a meeting." And the staff person refuses. It was so rude and weird. They said something like "we stand by our decision to not sell this to you 'to-go'". It just felt so haughty and weird and just bizarre especially considering how long people were waiting to order. Day camp is on point with their drink-making ability. I got a white mocha and it tasted perfect. The lobby is really great and there is an upstairs hangout area too. Sometimes you can see then roasting their own coffee beans in house with a state of the art machine. read more

Haven't had anything that wasn't good yet. Kids hot chocolate is crazy with marshmallows..etc, kids love it. Small latte is plenty, nice and creamy. Toasts are great, especially the garden one.
