This place is pretty cool. You go in get in the line choose your meat, vegetables/potato, bread, pay for items picked, and then sit down and eat. I had the pulled pork. It was definitely Carolina inspired with it vinegar based/marinated bbq sauce. the more I ate, the more I liked it. The meal itself was good, but there wasn't a wow you have to try this moment...so with that said I probably won't go back unless somebody else wants to try it. I can see why this place should stay in business though, they have a lot a variety to choose from. It is not just a BBQ spot. They have grilled chicken, and even a fish choice. Molly's is great. The owner's of Marvellous Catering, a well-known caterer for years in Utah County, opened it in 2010. Molly's only does lunch (11am to 2pm), Monday through Friday. It is not especially large, so after 11:30 it is often difficult to get a seat. For comfortable dining-in, plan for lunch a little early. The furnishings are new and nice. I'm certain they only do lunch so they can rent the place out for evenings. The food is great. The meats are excellent. Friday they do ribs, which I hear are great, but I'm so in love with the pulled pork and brisket that I have yet to try it. The sides a numerous and portions are plentiful. Add desert once in a while. Like most restaurants it seems overpriced, but everything I've tried here notch. Even down to the bread. Plan for $8-$12 per person. Molly's is the best cafeteria style restaurant in Utah. If you want a taste of the south go here for their great barbeque! Every Friday is rib day and their ribs are delicious. They are perfectly seasoned and smoked slowly. They also have great pulled pork and brisket. Order a lunch plate for under ten dollars and you are guaranteed to be full when you leave. In addition to the barbeque they also have good chicken dishes like the French chicken. The meats are accompanied by great salads and other delicious sides. At Molly's you will find the unique tomatoe Basil pie, which is served in large slices and is a rich savory item. Finish the meal off with a wonderful dessert. Old fashion chocolate cake, carrot cake, or even some white chocolate bread pudding. The food is wonderful and the service is consistent with the quality of the food! Enjoy! read more

If you want a meal that tastes like it is home cooked, Molly's is the place. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I liked the cafeteria style of food. You choose your meat, side, and bread. The brisket was delicious and I loved the tortellini salad. The dishes change most days. The lemonade was sweet and refreshing as well. There were flowers on all the tables and the place was full of people having a good time. Check the times they're open because it is not all day. I like Molly's, it's just good homemade tasting food. If you want something fancy go somewhere else. The prices are also fair. I even like the Turkey Meatloaf that they serve on Tuesdays. I have probably been there 100 times and I haven't had a bad meal yet. My only gripe is that sometimes there are no seats available. But that's the fault of the rude customers that sit and talk after they are finished eating while people are standing around holding their trays full of food, looking for an empty seat. I kept hearing how delicious Molly's is and decided to give it a try. Too bad I came to that decision. For a restaurant and catering business I hear so highly praised, to say I was disappointed is a vast understatement. To start, when you go in you have to figure out where to go and how to order--there's no signage for customers to follow. They typically have only a few entrees (I'm told) with side dishes. Everything is served buffet style by what appear to be young culinary students. The prices are excessive, especially considering the portion sizes. The dining room is cramped, filled with Seniors, families who think it's OK to let their kids run around the place and it has no room for quiet conversation as fellow diners are just a foot or two away in any direction. The food however, was the real low-light. I had the Ribs, Rice, Green Beans and Caesar Salad. My wife had the Roast, Mashed Potatoes and Veggies. My daughter, a chef, had the Meatloaf, Potatoes and Gravy and Green Beans. All three meals (no drinks, water only) cost over $34. Of the three meals, not one of us were impressed by the food. It was all bland, had no distinctive notes, and just felt as if we were eating at a bad buffet someplace. As for my meal, the ribs were overcooked, they literally had no sauce on them at all, the salad tasted like lettuce with some nondescript boring sauce on it, the rice had zero flavor, and the green beans tasted and chewed like they weren't cooked; just merely warmed over. Like my review of Magelby's Fresh, this food is obviously delicious to the native Utahan's; but to us, it was in no way memorable, and was an absolute waste of money. If I could have given Molly's no stars at all, I would have. My family will never go there again. read more

There is something undefinable about Molly's. If you drove up and had second thoughts, nobody would blame you. It's nestled amongst the auto-body repair shops of Provo, Utah - and not far from the DI, a large local thrift shop. There's nothing unappealing about the exterior, but it's location isn't anything to be impressed by. But then you step inside and the smells that were wafting through the parking lot hit you full force and give you pause. Molly's is very clean (but not sterile) and warm, and the food is full-on American comfort cuisine of the finest caliber. There is nothing I've tried that isn't next-level good. I highly recommend the Dutch oven potatoes and the brisket. Or if you like chicken, try the French chicken with it's amazing white sauce. The rolls are hot and sweet, and smell of yeasty goodness. It has an unpretentious cafeteria vibe, but much warmer and kinder. It's always packed, the proprietors are clearly making money hand over fist. But they deserve every penny - the food is that good.
