french chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans

Mollys is a great place to a home cooked meal without having to cook! I ordered the french chicken and it did not disappoint. I also highly recommend the carrot cake if you're into that! Good old classic American comfort food!

Another delicious visit to Molly's, this time on Thursday so we could try the chicken pot pie. We went early because they ran out the last time we tried to get chicken pot pies. There was already a line shortly after 11, but I called in my order to go and everything was ready in about 10 minutes. The chicken pot pie is delicious, as were the sides: mashed potatoes with French gravy, corn, and spinach salad (one side is included). The serving sizes are generous and I'm glad the pot pies are in a tin so they're easy to reheat in the oven. Definitely stop by Molly's for lunch if you're in Provo on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 11 and 3!

MOLLY's!!! Oh my gosh I get a little misty just thinking about this place - it's THAT good! The vibe is mom's good old home cooking and specials rotate daily. I'm a sucker for their chicken pot pies but that's a Thursday special and we went on a different day. Their French Chicken is tender and the gravy is to die for. If the stars align and they have their sugar cookies, buy at least two. These cookies won a blind taste off done by me and my foodie friends. The vote was unanimous. Molly's cookies are the cookie to beat. Their hours are kind of the worst, so beware. But it's worth it to catch them!! They're not open Mondays. Period. Weekdays they are open for lunch and Fridays they do open back up for dinner. Catch them open and grab a cookie and you'll consider yourself the luckiest with the happiest tummy!!

brisket plate, cheddar biscuit, mashed potatoes with country gravy, pear gorgonzola salad

SO DELICIOUS! I just ate here for the first time today after driving by. The line was about 15 people long but I didnt mind waiting because the food smelled amazing! I got a brisket plate with mashed potatoes/country gravy, pear gorgonzola salad, and a cheddar biscuit. I could have eaten the whole plate and felt stuffed, but I saved a little for later! The desserts also looked amazing but I was too full!

For a cafeteria style restaurant this place is fantastic. The food is good, and what it can sometimes lack in terms of flavor or complexity is more than made up for by the home made characteristics of the food. Really does feel like eating a home cooked meal. Prices were reasonable. But even above the tasty food was the service. Everyone who served us was so pleasant and seemed anxious to make our visit enjoyable. It's a causal setting.... nice for families but also enjoyable for friends and couples. They do have gluten free items.

I wish this place would have more opening hours! As I came for dinner on a Friday night, there was a relatively long line. I would recommend coming earlier during dinner hours to get in line and grab a seat, as there is a 'no saving seats' policy! The brisket here is my favourite. However, all the meats are all super juicy and well-cooked. I also love the cheese bread that they offer as a selection with your entree and 2 sides! Definitely come try this restaurant if you can make it during their opening hours! This place is great for a comfortable, casual meal!

So unique and flavorful. For the main entree, the gnocchi and winter pasta were also a hit. Hard to top the soup and salad though! To top it all off, the pumpkin pie panna cotta was amazing. They included it free of charge, as an anniversary gift. What a nice surprise! Great service, great food, great time.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

This caused us to have to wait for almost 30 more minutes past our reservation time before we could be seated. Frankly the service by the manager was terrible, she needs to learn how to seat and time large groups. That being said Our waiter was awesome, super nice guy, he was cool, fast, nice. But every time we come here the wait (for those who have reservations) is always super long and usually it takes a while for food to arrive. Food is delicious, love the food. Hot chocolate is awesome too. Always happy with the food!!

The chicken pot pie was so salty, Luke warm at best, and I'm honestly not entirely sure the chicken was cooked all the way through.
