My husband and I wanted Tacos after a nice hike this afternoon. Our normal taco place was closed so we stopped here. I got the corn cakes with shrimp- arepas. They were delicious! Black corn salsa, mozzarella cheese, mojos sauce (wonderful with a nice kick), and big shrimp. I really enjoyed this unique dish. My husband got the mahi tacos. He said the double decker tacos were good and he enjoyed them. If you order seafood they cook it to order so it does take a little longer. read more

This is my first visit and normally I don't review until my third but I was particularly pleased with this place. It's family owned, parents in the kitchen and family running front end. Taco sauce is amazing, as were the tacos. Chips are 4/5, perfect crunch, flavor, and perfectly salted. My taco was chicken, moist and tasty. They're neat, not messy. The service was great, it's a small place, but the atmosphere is really nice and cozy it gives beach surfer vibes. The tacos I ordered were the Rice & Beans along with the shrimp taco , they were super delicious. The shrimps were pretty large which had juicy flavors, the seasoning was just right, didn't taste so bland which I was worried about lol. We also got chips and they tasted really nice they were super crunchy & salty the way I like them, not too salty If you're worried about that, however I will say the chips don't come with any sauces just letting you know in case you expect it to come with. With the city of St. Augustine booming with traffic around the holidays, I decided I was a little bit too hungry for an hour and a half wait most of the restaurants on St. George street had to offer. I wasn't terribly sure what I was in the mood for and then it hit me... my cursed taco craving that never seems to go away! When the craving hit, i typed in "Tacos near me" on google and this placed popped up, I looked over the menu and began to get excited about the vegan/vegetarian options. So i got in my car and next thing you know i'm at Mojos tacos ordering tempeh tacos and guacamole. I was in the mood for some kombucha so I opened the cooler and put one on the counter, the lady who was taking my order informed me that they have their own house brewed kombucha and asked me if I would like to try it. I handed her my debit card without hesitation and took a seat outside while I waited for my order. While i was waiting I gave the kombucha a try, and let me tell you it was the best one I've ever had! If kombucha didn't have such a short shelflife I would've gotten cups and cups to take home. After a 15 minute wait, my tacos came out and when I unwrapped that tinfoil, they were packed to the top and overflowing with goodness! The tacos are hard shell tacos with a soft shell on the outside making for a nice crunch, The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and I dunked this Mexican goodness in some of the best homemade salsa I've ever tasted, and I've tasted a lot of salsa in my life... so you know it was good! I had a wonderful experience here, I wish my stomach was bigger so I could've gotten more tacos and kombucha but that just gives me an excuse to come back to St. Augustine! read more

These guys are the real deal. I've been ordering their Chicken Burritos for years and it never disappoints. Today I tried a birria taco and I am floored. The corn taco and beef and cheese were delectable but the consume.... I only ordered one taco, and the consume was so amazing, I had to take it home and sop up the rest with some good cuban bread. What can I say about Mojo's. It's a small food shop located near The Shores in St. Augustine. They have a nice outside seating area. Hang with a few friends or just sit solo and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the area. Hubby and I stopped in because I needed to eat. John got the Fish Mahi tacos and I ordered the beef nachos. We received a huge portion of Nachos. I should have only gotten them. We got settled to eat. The food was still hot. I noticed that it was really salty. I asked John about his taco, it was salty also. I laughed and said drink plenty of water. I ate my beef nachos of and on for a few hours. About 6pm, my stomach was in knots. I truly believe it was spices and too Rich. I was in turmoil til 3am. Finally, I fell asleep. Maybe the cast iron stomachs will enjoy the finer foods of Mojo's. This review is for the Mainland location!( though I love the island one too!) just went last night for a quick bite to eat! Ordered the Beef taco and queso and chips! The taco comes in a hard shell encased in cheese and then a soft shell with a massive amount of toppings! To die for! And honestly I could of made a 2nd taco with all the extra toppings(added it to the chips)! And the queso and Salsa-simply divine!! And I was really impressed by the staff-they were pretty young teenagers running the restaurant! They were all very pleasant and professional and if a teenager made my taco... then they have got a career in cuisine! Thank you for such a pleasant meal! One of our favorite taco spots to visit in the North Florida area. It's not fancy but the food is very good. There's something special about their shrimp tacos. I'm not sure what they do to them but they obviously add some magic in them. I've tried all the tacos, all of the nachos and most of the arepas and they have all been good. Like Kaliburger, this spot offers vegan meat and cheese as an option. You can add it to any burrito, taco, or even the nachos. My favorite though it the vegan arepa. It's amazing! They're nice and fluffy. They season their vegan meat really well too, so it's like you're having the real thing. I saw that they offer breakfast. I wonder if they offer a plant based egg or scrambled tofu in place of real eggs? That would be great! read more

This is one of the worst restaurants I have eaten in. It pretends to be an eat-in but is a take-out. Our order was served in a paper bag and the food was wrapped in aluminum foil. Plastic knives and forks were only available. My tacos stuck to the foil. The floor is dark cement and an unknown liquid had not been cleaned up. Tables and chairs all unmatched and looked as if they were a refugee from a garage sale. At best, my tacos were OK. We will most definitely not return. read more

Our fav tacos in St. Augustine area! Coming from California we really wanted our taco fix, this kind of taco isn't exactly the California's tacos we use to get BUT it has its own unique way of doing things. The double shell is surprisingly amazing (I'm not usually a soft shell girlie) but it really works combined with the hard! And I will say that I always get the shrimp and my husband gets the mahi and the seafood is always super fresh and the way they make it is perfection. A little spicy, but not too spicy. Also the kids and I are absolutely obsessed with their queso. I swear we could eat this once a week if not more it's just a bit of a drive for us. First timer at Mojo's today and it did not disappoint! I had two tacos, the shrimp and the mahi! The shrimp was blackened perfectly and had the perfect flavor! The only tiny drawback was that I only got 3 shrimp in my taco, but maybe I'm just greedy. Haha. The mahi was cooked to perfection and was still juicy. The tacos are so flavorful with the pico and the cheesy between the hard taco shell and the soft taco shell. I've never seen a restaurant do that before. We went to the Mainland location on Santa Maria Blvd. The cashier/ manager Kali was delightful, friendly and patient. The food came out fresh and hot, just how I like it. I ordered the special street style taco with shredded brisket, VERY tasty. My husband ordered a chicken taco and a beef taco. Again, VERY tasty. And they did NOT skimp on the meat. Definitely worth the$5.50 per taco charge. Will we be back? You betcha and we're gonna bring some people with us. Love the tacos here - a perfect complement to a day at the beach. They are constructed in layers. A crunchy inner later with cheese and a soft tortilla outside holding everything together. My favorites in order are the avacado, ground beef and shredded chicken. There are other items on the menu such as salads and burritos, but it's going to be a while before I get to those. The ingredients always taste fresh and it's a no frills place so you feel comfortable coming in even after a day outside. read more
