I have been going to Modita since they opened... I LOVE it! I am really just disappointed in the latest menu change. Our favorite items got taken off and the new items we got just weren't as comparable to the corn dogs or center cut sirloin. Those were the menu items that kept us coming back. I really hope those come back again. read more

Food and service are consistently excellent. Tangerine chicken tonight was delicious. Drinks were unusual and worthy!

Our server was very attentive. The food was great! I recommend the Ahi tuna and the boa buns were lovely! The ambience and mood was amazing, I was celebrating an anniversary and they offered complementary desert! My partner is a harsh critic and he loved it here. Will definitely be back! read more

If you are a fan of other Cunningham restaurants you may find this one a little different. The food was good, pretty good, but I was not wowed like I am at other nearby CGR. I wasn't surprised by any non traditional ingredient they used or flavor combinations. It was all pretty standard.. As for service, our waitress was kind and knowledgeable, water came like clockwork and our plates were taken promptly. Onto the environment, Modita is located in the heart of the bottleworks district so they get a lot of people walking by as guest where they normally may not in another location. This being said a lot of guest were in jeans, sandals and even baseball hats. This is not good nor bad but a note to take depending on what type of night you are wanting to have. I felt very overdressed at this restaurant in comparison to other CGR. In whole, good restaurants, great staff, more casual than you may think. read more

Modita - Marble - Sushi Bars Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

My sister and I went here for Devour, which we loved because you can try a little bit of everything. The bar was very comfortable and the bar tender was super friendly. We were there on a random 60 degree night in February, so they even had the garage up for a little bit. I can't wait to come back in the summer because it seems like most of the walls can be opened up in some way to enjoy the outdoors! We both ordered drinks that were very well-crafted. The food was so good! Most of my pictures of the food have multiple bites already taken out of it before I was able to get a picture. Everything had so much flavor. For appetizers, we ordered the bao buns and the hamachi sushi roles. I could have had the bao buns alone as my meal. They were so good. The pork belly wasn't fatty and the miso aioli was incredibly rich. For my main course, I ordered the Pho Beef. It was good, but there wasn't a whole lot to it! I wish there were a few more sprouts/veggies. The portion was large though and filling. For dessert, I tried the ice cream and it was awesome! Each scoop had a unique flavor and came with a little garnish. Very well presented! I have heard more and more people bring up Modita when talking about great new places to eat in town. I can't wait to come back and try even more. read more

This has become a favorite date night spot. Believe the hype, the level of flavor and creativity is out of this world! You gotta try the bao buns (heaven in your mouth). We really like the tamarind noodles, kimchi fried rice, regular fried rice, and the veggie sides. Most dishes do have a little kick, just a heads up. The decor and vibe feels very upscale and hip too. Another success from the Cunningham group! read more

I love Modita so much! This is my second time here and everything is so good I wanted to leave a review before I left the building. Our server, Jordan, is so kind and informative. The bao buns, lumpia, and yakisoba noodles are delicious. The Yang cocktail is so yummy! I love it here and I will be back. Perfect spot for romantic dates! read more

We ordered takeout online, but when my husband arrived to pick it up at 5 p.m., he was told it is not ready because they only open at 5 p.m. So I suggest removing this time option from their website. We liked the bao buns and the roast, but the sushi was underwhelming. I particularly disliked the onion flakes with an exhorbitant amount of oil. read more

I was so thankful for the curbside pick up option! Modita really nailed the customer service and presentation to make my carry out meal feel very special. I ordered the soup dumplings, mapo tofu, cheesecake and a crispy honey garlic chicken kids meal. The food was fantastic! I was really impressed by the kids meal. It wasn't the average chicken fingers, but instead had the same quality as the other dishes in a smaller size. The presentation was beautiful and I was so impressed with the service. I'm excited to try more of the menu! This was the best carry out experience I've had in years. read more

The Bottleworks area is awesome, so we were excited to try this place. We didn't make reservations, but opted to sit at the bar. The bartenders were attentive and our drinks were great. We tried the Korean corn dogs as an app- loved those. We ordered the tangerine chicken and fried rice, which were okay- just not overwhelmed by them for the price. We may try again as it's a beautiful restaurant in a great area and received great service! read more

Love this place! Great atmosphere. I had the TAMARIND NOODLES very tasty, Jeff had the scallops special. Everything was great! We were glad we requested the bar area dining, great vibe. read more

Our group was excited to try Modita. While the service and the meal presentation was solid, the plates all left us wanting something better. I tasted the crab rangoon, soup dumplings, short rib, mapo tofu, and himachi sushi. The soup dumplings were filled with a meatball and not soup. The short rib was good, but very salty. The himachi sushi was strangely layered rather than rolled. I did like the tofu dish. Cocktails were tasty. For a Cunningham restaurant, I was hopeful for more. It's like they took some really good Asian recipes and tried unsuccessfully to add their own flair. Union 50 is still our go-to Cunningham group restaurant! read more

We had an extraordinarily good experience eating at Modita tonight. We walked over after our last Indy Fringe show and were seated after a brief wait. One of our party has an unusual allergy and our server, Casey, promised to steer us around problematic menu items. Our old friend, Lindsay Sloan, greeted us and aided throughout the night. The food we ordered was outstanding. The one thing others at the table wanted was kept far away from the person with the allergy. The items that were safe included a delicious salad, eel, and a crispy noodle dish with chicken and shrimp. Each dish had plenty of depth of flavor. And while the noise level seems high, we were all able to hear each other (including hearing one of our number who is notoriously soft-spoken). Our dinner was capped with a special corn ice cream, a seasonal specialty. It was delicious and punctuated with popped corn. We will definitely be back. read more

The drinks were wonderful. The restaurant had a good vibe. The food was good. Our server did an excellent job. Unfortunately, I found long strands of hair inside my rangoons. Mind you I have very short hair. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and simply asked the server to take it off the bill. I enjoy the rest of my meal and when I get my total, I see that the manager had written "guests own hair" as the reason why the food was removed from the total. Frankly this was completely unprofessional and showed a complete lack of integrity. Only then did I ask to speak to the manager directly. Before I could say anything he stated it was a misunderstanding (there wasn't one) and that he would be happy to give my email to his boss so that they could send me a gift card. It's been one week since then. Still no email or phone call from anyone. Not even sure if the manager added my points to my VIP rewards card. Just frustration and disappointment from a Cunningham restaurant. Go to any other of their other restaurants. Sadly, the food tasted bad after I had finished my meal because of this. This isn't the one to go to unless you just want to go for a drink and a drink only. read more

Casey was the absolute best server. He was efficient and had the best attitude and was very informative. Had great suggestions and his knowledge of the menu was fantastic. The food was awesome but Casey was the highlight of the experience. Thanks Casey! read more

Very nice ambiance. Love the concept and honestly love the menu, however, do feel mixed on food. Bulgogi short ribs were fair at best. Expected it to be more like kalbi in delivery but more like shirt rib that would be put into taco. Needs kimchi served alongside otherwise flavor too flat-felt like I was eating American pot roast than Korean style bc of this. The tamarind noodles with shrimp are solid. Good number of shrimp. As for bang for buck, this dish certainly outshined the short rib. Decent spice and some similarities to pad thai with a bit of a curryish flare. Enjoyed it. The soup dumplings were a bit salty and not soupy enough. Egg rolls tasty. And kimchi fried rice stellar (big side portion). The cocktails are excellent. The specific name escapes me but was scotch with egg white and strawberry, was absolutely fantastic texturally and taste was superb. This cocktail was caliber of something that would be served at other top cocktail joints like commodore, ball and biscuit, Platt 99, etc. Service was great as is always the case with Cunningham establishments. Would probably be a 3 out of 5 if for food only but with drinks factored in and service, brings to a solid 4. Will return to try again for food as love the concept but falling short currently. read more

The atmosphere was super fun. It was dimly lit and had a great vibe. Our service was ok but we were disappointed in the food. We are huge Cunningham fans but this is one of our least favorites. I am happy we tried it but probably will not return. read more

We had great food, great service, great drinks! I had won a stay at Bottleworks hotel and free meal/drinks for 4 from my company. This was a super great experience and Modita did not disappoint! We were there during Devour Downtown and ordered mostly from that menu. The Boa Buns were fabulous. Our server was excellent. It was pretty loud, but we were feeling pretty good from some cocktails beforehand and didn't care by that point. The only negative was the Australian Wagyu which was a big disappointment, very tough. Good thing I didn't pay much (well my company didn't pay much!) for it. We got seated pretty fast for a Saturday night in the summer. 5 stars is pretty rare for me to give, but all in all this was a really great meal, drinks, atmosphere, and service. read more

It was ok. If you want Asian fusion food, there are plenty of other places in the city that will impress your taste buds. We got the boa buns (2.5/5), sushi (2/5) and the steak teriyaki (3/5). Nothing to write home about. read more

Visited during the Devout Indy promo- great use of bottleworks space. Asian inspired menu, however anyone can find something on the menu. Will be back read more

Where do I begin... Location is great and parking is easy access to the restaurant. When you walk in the ambiance is amazing! I swear they have a smoke machine and white doves on hot standby. The food is prepared by highly trained ninjas and leaves your taste buds on cloud nine after every bite. The staff is very professional and nice. Drink menu was all QR coded out but for all of us "old timers" they had a paper copy at the ready. Price is very reasonable considering your experience dining there will be priceless. Then again, it could have been the company I was with. Great first date location! Get Some #bodybychief read more

Pretty good but a good bit pricy. My sister got the kimchi fried rice and it was alright. I feel like it would be cheaper to make it yourself. I do like the food though read more

First time checking out Modita and I can see why it's all the rage! I had heard about the restaurant but didn't know it was located inside the bottleworks hotel. I loved the atmosphere and it was a perfect spot for a girls night dinner. We all started off with the porch punch (I think it's called). It's a great refreshing drink that isn't too sweet and sugary. My friend who picked modita had been talking about the pork belly bao buns all week. So we started with the buns and the crab rangoons. The bao buns were amazing! We actually ended up getting another order. I liked the rangoons but it seemed like more crust than actual stuffing. Since we wanted to try everything we got a bunch of things to split. We got the tangerine chicken and umami noodles. The umami noodles were my favorite! We rounded off the night with the lemon dessert our waitress recommended. Perfect finish to an amazing meal. Next time around I am definitely going to try out the sushi! read more

I came here with a few friends for a birthday celebration. This place definitely has an amazing vibe! Food was absolutely delicious! We had the dumplings, egg rolls and wasabi tuna to share with the table and it was fantastic. The only complaint I have is that the service was vey slow. Drinks took a very long time to come out. We brought a birthday cake to have them bring to the table that never made it out and ended up giving to the staff because we had been there for over 2 hours for dinner and had other reservations we were running late for. First time experience not great but the good was excellent. read more

This place was very nice on the inside and great atmosphere. I tried the Bao Buns, soup dumplings, kimchi fried rice and short ribs. I highly recommend the Bao Buns and soup dumplings. The short rib didn't have much flavor but it was sooooo tender so for that I say go for it. I didn't care too much for the kimchi fried rice because it gave a bitter aftertaste. Other than that this is a great spot for dinner nights out on the town and in my favorite area around Mass Ave. read more

I can't say enough good things about Modita! We went for the first time last night and ordered from the Devour menu. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and already knew what I wanted to order but wasn't sure which cocktail to get. I ended up ordering the Maelstrom cocktail. It's delicious and refreshing. For the first course of Devour, I ordered the Bao Buns and my son ordered the Hamachi Nigiri. The Bao Buns are out of this world!! The bun texture is great, the grilled pork belly was just spicy enough and the Asian slaw complimented the dish well. Our server said she eats them all the time and I'm jealous! I'm already trying to figure out when I'll be downtown again so I can get more Bao Buns! The Hamachi Nigiri was a delicious choice as well. I enjoyed the salty yet slight spice to it. Next up was the main entree. I ordered the Faroe Island Salmon and my son ordered the Tangerine Chicken (not pictured). My son was starving when we arrived and dug right into his meal before I could snap a picture. The portions were generous and even though he arrived super hungry, he took a good portion home with us. I tried a bite of the Tangerine Chicken and really enjoyed the flavors. The Faroe Island Salmon was great. I'm not the biggest Salmon fan (I don't eat it a lot and typically wouldn't order it) so I was hesitant to order this last night but I wanted to order something different than what my son ordered. Im glad I did because Modita did it right! The hoisin glaze and spicy cucumber complimented the salmon well. For the dessert course, we ordered one of each option. The Yuzu bar was delicious and refreshing. The Trio Ice Cream was great as well. My son and I both agreed that the Ube Heath Bar was our favorite of the three. The atmosphere is great and the service is even better. Our server Chloe was super friendly and you could tell everyone was working hard to take care of the customers and get everything out quickly, despite being super busy. Im ashamed that it took me this long to check out Modita. I can't wait to get back there soon! Make sure you check them out ASAP! read more

Modita - Maelstrom cocktail - Sushi Bars Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

We finally made it to this restaurant. This Indianapolis area is super busy and can be hard to find a parking spot. Contemporary restaurant without a real personality, no pop. We were seated near the bar. Right away everyone in my family noticed our table moving as people walked by. And people were walking by a lot. Arron came by and we ordered some delicious green tea, I was surprised that green tea could taste that good. Arron recommended this ginger miso salad. We also ordered Bao Buns, Pork soup dumplings, Chicken Yakisoba Noodles, and almost all of the Robata Yakitori on the menu. Soon after, this large salad arrived. As I chewed the salad, I thought I broke a tooth. The lettuce was not cleaned and full of grit. I can't believe a restaurant like this would be so careless. Soon we finished our delicious tea. All the empty tea pots and cups sat at our smallish table as Arron, others, and even management came to drop off food as soon as it was ready. Each time they had trouble finding room on table. All the food was steaming hot with the clay plates hot as well. Our plates were cleared 4 times but not any of finished tea cups or pots, they just left them taking up a fourth of the table. The highlights were the Bao Buns, Pork soup dumplings, and Chicken Yakisoba Noodles. I would not order any of the Robata Yakitori again, each dish had some issue. I placed all of these tea pots, tea cups and plates in front of me as Arron come over to check if we wanted dessert. Arron took the used plates but left this pile of tea pots and tea cups. We ordered a delicious dessert, the yuzu bar. Fabulous! Arron brought over the bill and set it down in front of my wife because of all the dishes in front of me. I thought there was some special tea person that would come over and collect these precious dishes but as soon as we got up Arron took everything away. read more

What a great addition to the Bottleworks district! Food is soooo flavorful and cocktails were delicious. Service is wonderful and she was so attentive and gave great recommendations. Found the food underwhelming. Good atmosphere, but with such a limited menu, expected more in the taste department.

Everything was amazing. From the cocktails to the miso salad to the sweet n sour sushi to the spicy tuna and hamachi sushi rolls to the tofu and sautéed mushrooms, absolutely incredible. Everything is very shareable! I recommend getting several different things to try. We will definitely be back! It's one of the best restaurants I've had in downtown Indianapolis. read more

What a wonderful spot. Came for our anniversary and Modita did not disappoint. Very nice house cocktails to start. Then cold sake - sweet and fruity sake! Hadn't had this before, it was remarkably pleasant. Started food with heirloom tomato salad (the green tomatoes were incredible) and pork belly bao. Fantastic. Then a very artistically prepared sushi roll. I had sea bass with soba noodles and my wife had umami noodles with pork and mushrooms. The bass was melt-in-your-mouth. So good. Then a fantastic custard dessert. Service was personable and friendly. Recommendations were spot on. We had a great time. There's a kids menu, so next time we'll bring the little ones! read more

Great spot for a night out , great atmosphere . Close to other entertainment spots in the bottle works complex . Be prepared to take time for finding parking and no valet is available . Service is excellent and they have a great menu selection for food abs drinks. Food is American Asian fusion , definitely more towards the American flavors and taste than Asian spices . Still enjoyable experience . I recommend to make reservations in advance. read more

First time at Modita, and this place has a great atmosphere -- perfect for a date night or to vibe with friends. With that said, my experience with the food was mixed. The highlight of my meal was the boa buns. They had a great flavor and had me yearning for more. However, my entree, the short ribs, while of a succulent texture and coupled with a great sauce, was lukewarm and didn't pair very well with the side of pears. And the drinks, while creative, missed the mark concerning taste. Overall, I think this place has great potential, and I would patronize them again. I went here with family from Florida, and they loved it. They just need to ramp up their food to the level of other CRG concepts, such as Stone Creek, and I will give them five stars. read more

Love how unique the whole place is from the menu to the actual seating. If you go we recommend you skip the entrees and just get a bunch of the small plates. All the small plates were AMAZING! Negative stars. Disgusted at this place. Tried to have dinner here for my daughter's 22nd birthday. They accused my daughter and her friend of having fake IDs because they did not show up in their "scanner". My husband and I gave them our IDs to check since we have the same last name, address...They came back and told us our IDs were also fake and tried to show us why they were obviously fake. Are you kidding me? I am 53 and have never had a fake ID, and would I say I was 53 if I did??? I understand they have policies, but they were so rude and condescending. They would not even consider that there may be a problem with their scanner. Luckily, we found a great place down the street with amazing staff. I've honestly never been treated so poorly. read more
