This spot has impressive sushi!, I also love that you can order at the counter and sit and enjoy, I had two great sushi rolls, that were fresh and filling, and since it's been so hot, two drinks were needed, I had a great lime boba drink, as well as a refreshing mango bobo drink! The staff was very friendly! Can't wait to go back!

This is part of a small local chain of sushi restaurants. It is located in the heart of downtown. You will find commercial lots/garages and metered parking within a reasonable walking distance. They have a decent sized dining area with tables and chairs and some bar seating that overlooks the sidewalk/street. They also have a little patio area out front of the restaurant. I had such high hopes coming here, but this place was just ok across the board. The service was ok. Nothing special. They were not the most welcoming and they were kind of slow. There was also a bit of a language barrier that had to be overcome to place my order. I ordered teriyaki chicken hibachi and an egg roll. The hibachi was made cafeteria style and was luke warm at best. It was also was lacking a lot of flavor. I could not taste any teriyaki. it was just "ok". I also got a pineapple smoothie and it was mediocre. My main complaint about the smoothie was that there was a lot of ice chucks in it. For a smoothie, it was not very smooth. And keeping with the restaurant's theme....the egg roll that I ordered was just ok. I was not very impressed. I will probably not be eating here anytime soon and definitely could not give it my recommendation. I was not very pleased with my entire experience from the service to the food.

Yoshi is not far away from where I work, but for some reason it fell off my radar and I tried it finally. I like so-called "hibachi express" and this is conveniently located downtown. I ordered hibachi chicken bowl online for pickup. What I liked about it is they let me choose two kinds of sauce from several different options. I got spicy mayo and teriyaki. I think it's reasonably priced considering the location etc. it was very salty, the kind that makes you really thirsty. It is almost too salty, but I like salty. If you are someone who is watching sodium level and blood pressure, maybe you can request sauce on the side. It was clean inside and there are seats available, although most people seemed to just take the food to go. Also, I thought they could give their dining space more cozy, warm, welcoming vibe. It is too plain, white, and not so inviting. I'll be back.

The service was friendly. Be careful if you're ordering through Yelp connected with GrubHub. I placed the order and it wasn't accept for about 20 minutes, so I called Yoshi's main phone and ordered over the phone. It was ready within 5 minutes. Unfortunately when I got back to my place, it said the order was accepted. Thankfully GrubHub support worked it out and I got a refund for the duplicate order. It's a walk up style ordering system with a display case of packs of sushi. You order first then pay and wait for your good. They do have some tables to sit at but it was more of a to-go vibe. Yoshi has lots of to-go sushi available and a ton of drink options (teas, smoothies, some milk tea). Unfortunately that's what you get, really, is to-go style/chain restaurant/grocery store sushi. There's 8 rolls to a pack and I was surprised at the amount until I realized the roll is 80% rice. Big wad of rice with minimal ingredients and flavor. I'm a basic b so I got California roll and spicy tuna. The California roll was unfortunately bland, not creamy like the best ones I've had. The imitation crab wasn't mixed at all, just a dry hunk of it in the middle. Luckily the spicy tuna had an orange sauce on it to make up for lack of taste. It wasn't really spicy. I wish I would have gotten more soy sauce since I was mainly eating dry-ish rice. It also cost $20. Rip my bank account. I will gladly pay that for good sushi but unfortunately this wasn't. Ah well. It was close and fast.

This is a great spot if you need a quick meal. The portions are generous so there is no worry about leaving there hungry. I had to take half of my poke bowl home the last time I was there. The service isn't warm but it is super quick and worth the value.

Similar to the location in Geeenwood. Decided to get a bento box which the sign says comes with 4 pieces of California roll, a spring roll, salad, potsticker and rice. I don't know if it was a language barrier or maybe i read the sign wrong but the lady kept asking if I wanted the mixed veggies and what chicken I wanted. Had I said yes to all the other stuff she mentioned, it would have been way too much food for me. The rice was the star of this meal and next time I may get just the rice.

I happened to visit on a warmer day so I was able to see the space with the garage door open. It was golden hour and it had everything all lit up. Very beautiful. Our service was amazing, couldn't have asked for a better server. I can't remember her name but she was so detailed in her descriptions, thoughtful with her suggestions, and had the perfect amount of attentiveness. Now on to the fun parts.... Drinks were a hit! We told our server what we like and they recommended a couple options. I again can't remember the exact name of the drink but mine was a gin cocktail. I'll attach some photos for you. As for the food, every bite I took was delicious. Our table shared the fried brussel sprouts and the ginger miso salad. A very lovely way to ease into our meal on a lighter note. They split up the salad onto two plates for us, which was sweet of them. The portion was pretty good for a $12 salad. Very refreshing. Brussel sprouts were absolutely fire. Get them! Along with that, I also ordered the tempura shrimp maki roll. Inside the roll was cucumber and avocado with giant tempura shrimp right on top, drizzled in spicy mayo. The presentation was cool, a slightly deconstructed version of what I would get somewhere else. There wasn't a single bite left on the plate. I would order all three of these dishes again in a heartbeat. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also works for just grabbing a bite with friends. Whenever I find myself back in Indy, Modita will be on my list.

We had a reservation at 6:45, and were sat shortly after that time. The place was busy for a Friday night, and was somewhat loud. Our waitress greeted us quickly, and was on top of things throughout the night. I started off with a ginger miso salad, based on recommendations on this page. Personally, I could have went without the $12 salad. I would have paid more like $6 for the amount of actual salad I got. The dressing was good, but nothing extraordinary. I did ask for no cucumbers- I could taste a faint taste of cucumbers on the salad, so think they just took them off after they were already placed. We split some Bao Buns. These were the highlight of the show. The pork on them was thick, the slaw was fresh, and the bao bun itself was fluffy. We split two dishes for dinner- the short rib and the chicken udon noodles. The chicken udon noodles were fantastic- packed full of flavor and tons of toppings in it. The short rib fell a little short of my expectations, but I had high expectations to begin with. We have had the short rib multiple times in the past- and normally it is a hunk of meat, similar to a roast. Now, it is strips of tiny pieces of meat with a bone attached to it. If the owner/general manager is reading this- GO BACK TO THE ROAST STYLE- the strips of meat was too much work to eat. Still packed full of great flavor though. I had the bridge to Anshun for my drink. I had never had Baiju before, but glad I tried it. It was a tangy drink that was also sweet- would say it's a must try. Overall, some changes since our last visit that weren't expected, but overall had a great evening here. Can't wait to return.

This is explained on the website and I believe when I made a reservation online. With about 10 minutes yet to go on our 90 minutes, a person whom i assume was the manager came to our table to remind us. This was okay although it could have been worded differently. We were just paying the bill that had just arrived when she came back again stating she had a reservation waiting and she needed us to basically leave. We did not see anyone waiting either at the hostess stand or outside but rules are rules. Again it could have been worded differently and perhaps it could have been suggested we could finish at the bar (perhaps those are also reserved though) or to one of the empty tables outside. If you want excellent food and great service and you can be finished in 90 minutes I would recommend Bodhi. I also understand turning tables. Just know the timeframe does not allow for dessert (or an appetizer as we did) unless you hurry and you had best be watching the clock or the manager will make it clear you need to leave.

During my visit, I believe there was a table of ladies having a bachelorette-type dinner/outing and they were having a good time! You can come dressed up or casual. Food is great, staff is great and I loved the vibe. I will be back!
