Sexygirl roll and green ... forgot
    Leo M.

This is hands down the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. The sushi is incredibly fresh , You can really taste the quality in every bite. The rolls are creative but still balanced, not overloaded like many other places. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and very relaxing. The staff is also friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome the whole time. For me, this is my #1 sushi spot. I will definitely keep coming back. Highly recommended!

Cute spot off of 465. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. It wasn't very busy for a Sunday around lunch time, but it was consistent with the amount of people going in and out. From the moment we walked in everyone was quite attentive and pleasant. They have a variety of drinks, and they're strong so watch out. Started with crab Rangoon and it was creamier than other places , but still so good. My sushi was delicious and the presentation was beautiful! I did add wasabi because I love a kick of spice. It was however not spicy at all and I added a lot more than usual. Not sure what they used to make it but perhaps have different levels of spice. My beef ramen, it was blistering cold out, was warm and smelled amazing. Out server said there wasn't a spice option but they did bring out a salt shaker with some spices in in, which I added a bit of. It was lacking some flavor in my opinion and I only got half an egg, my favorite part! A little bummed about that. It's a huge plate and I ended up taking it home and having it for lunch. Added salt to it and it was great! The menu online showed lunch specials but after visiting over the weekend they're only for the weekday. I'll be back to try more sushi, they have many to choose from and they all sound amazing.

Love Sake Maru! It's beautiful on the inside. The staff is always friendly, never had an issue here. Prices are very reasonable and the food is great. Presentation is always a 10/10! Sushi always tastes fresh. Came for the lunch, chose 2 sushi rolls for only $14 and comes with soup or salad. The fried oysters or spring rolls are always a great appetizer. They also give their raw oysters a unique flavor, they're amazing! I've liked anything I've ordered on the menu.

Food is great love the serving size and just overall flavor. Need to comeback and try the ramen next time I saw several others eating it. Service was good a little slow but overall nice and friendly. The inside looks fantastic and has plenty of things to look at. Just a lovely vibe.

If you're hungry and unsure of what sushi place to go to in this area, look no further. This is located in a small strip next to chipotle and other businesses. When you walk in, the place is pretty quiet and the best way to describe the ambiance is serene. It's very pretty inside and the attention to detail with the decor is really nice. When you walk in, there is no host stand, but there is a sign by the door and someone will greet you for a table. There are approximately 13-15 tables (a few of these are two-tops) so the place is relatively on the smaller side. It was approx 7pm on a Friday night and it wasn't super busy, we immediately got a table. There is a nice bar you can sit at and watch the chefs prepare sushi if you're riding solo. The server was very nice. I believe they only had two servers this nice so please be patient should that occur. The spring rolls were soo good and the dipping sauce was a 10/10, but be careful if you don't like spicy. We also had the gyoza and again, the dipping sauce was insane. I had the steak hibachi which was pretty good and we also ordered the scorpion roll (which is two rolls in one) and that was delicious. The bathrooms were pretty clean and overall this restaurant was a good time. They also have these really cute booths that I would love to sit at, maybe next time!

Our foodie group came to Sake Maru one night last week to get some ramen noodles and some warm food for the cold weather. This restaurant has been around in Castleton for quite a while, but this was my first time here, so I was looking forward to trying something new. For a small venue in a strip mall, I was very impressed with the beautiful ambiance and the great bar area in front of the restaurant. The menu was very diverse with a great selection of sushi, ramen, poke bowl, and other Asian dishes. Our server greeted us with a smile and took good care of our group. I ordered the ramen buckwheat noodles soup with shrimp and hot tea to drink. The hot tea was excellent and the server was kind enough to bring us refills of the hot tea, which I was not expecting, so that made me happy. The ramen came in a huge bowl and tasted immaculate! The broth was perfect and the texture of the noodles was perfect in the broth. The shrimp was excellent! I dipped the shrimp in the broth and it made a huge difference taste wise. This was definitely high quality food as advertised on the storefront sign. Everyone loved their dish in our group, especially the shaggy dog sushi platter which is very popular at Sake Maru. If you love sushi, you will need to try the shaggy dog sushi platter. It is one of a kind and superb quality. The server treated us after our meal to our choice of candy from an assortment of candy on a basket. This was a nice touch to end the meal. Sake Maru is an excellent Asian restaurant and I see why it has been around for so long because they produce high quality food every time. I would love coming back here to try the sushi because it looks incredible and I know it would be worth the price. This was my best dining experience to start off the winter and will come back to Sake Maru time and time again if I am in the neighborhood. Simply marvelous!

When we first walked into Sake Maru, the place looked really nice--small and cozy with the feel of a fancy restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming, and we felt right at home. The food was excellent! I was so surprised (in the best way) to see Otoro and Uni on the menu. Both were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious--definitely not something you find just anywhere. We also ordered three kinds of ramen, and my kids demolished them in minutes! That alone speaks volumes about the flavor and quality. Overall, I highly recommend Sake Maru. Great food, great vibe, and a wonderful spot whether you're with family or just craving something special.

Brought my wife here for her birthday, it was the first sushi spot we tried after moving to Indiana. We didn't have high expectations but as soon as you walk in you know it's a high quality restaurant. They had some cool options and the taste of everything was great. The prices were also very reasonable!

    The firecracker roll!

Great food and darling in side! Ingredients were fresh and the service ver pleasant. Really good

The food was good but it took 15 minutes to get sat and there was a huge crowd in the nonexistent waiting area. It then took 20 more minutes for someone to even come over to the table. We timed it and it took 1.5 hours to get our food. Can't say I'll be back!

Never have I had a more amazing dinner at such a great price. I'm not sure if it's a promotion or just the normal that comes with the omakase meal but for only $85, you get an appetizer, a salad trio, miso soup, one roll, the omakase sushi plate, and dessert. The sushi is super fresh and they use quality ingredients. The touch of gold flakes, masago, and fresh wasabi was a great touch on each individual piece of fish. The bone marrow is a must! My daughter loved her chicken plate. Hibachi style with a nice amount of vegetables. We will definitely back again and try the vast selection they have to offer

Very clean and fancy looking place! Food was good overall except for the roll we picked was too saucy. That's just our preference. Flavor was good Maybe sushi rice was over cooked? It was too mushy. Tan Tan ramen flavor was good but wish it had more veggies. Service was excellent. When we walked in around 5:30pm there was only one other table. After we sat down more people started coming in.

The salad /topping bar was very limited, but it had good kimchi and some fresh fruit. The first round of meat was only 2 pieces on a plate so not too intimidating. They mentioned to us that what you don't eat you get charged extra for so we didn't want to waste food. But our second order of meat was 7 or 8 pieces on the plate, which was harder to eat. The meat was all very interesting cuts of fatty meat that you have to be comfortable eating. The signage on the front of the building is practically invisible from the road - blink and you'll certainly miss it. Food often appears scooped and served in casual divisions on the plate (think Japanese Thanksgiving). The decor is pretty hodge-podged together. The prices are definitely below market. There's next to no staff. There's no music. I love it. It's amazing. It's an unpretentious, no-frills, exceptionally cozy restaurant that serves what is essentially home-cooked Japanese food - not fine dining, but certainly not standard takeout fare. The sushi is consistently great, and the rest of the menu is more hit than miss. Often not blow-your-socks-off amazing, but typically very good with a kind of "just like mom made it" quality that is deeply comforting and rarely evoked by a restaurant. Beyond that, the owners are kind, the service is quick, and the place is clean. Really no place I'd rather find myself slurping soup on a dark, chilly evening.
