This is my go-to mod pizza in my area. I would say the customer service is pretty good. Pizza is also really good and freshly made. This location is also not typically packed, so i would recommend overall.
After that incredulously egregious interaction with an employee whom I'm certain is no longer affiliated with MOD Pizza*, amends were made, and I no longer have to fear getting ridiculed by any of their employees for any reason. Following such a debacle in customer service, my visits to this MOD Pizza were much less frequent, and I started patronizing Rubio's Coastal Grill in Lakewood. The recent, sudden, and certainly unfortunate demise of the Mexican fast casual chain caused that location to permanently shutter sans proper farewell. In spite of the rather high staff turnover rate where it seems an employee working one year wouldn't be working the next, the newer employees here have been holding down the fort quite well to stave off closure, a fate that was recently met by MOD's other Long Beach location in Bixby Knolls. I came three times during the month of June, ordering a pizza each time. One was online and two were in person. The first pizza I ordered online was pretty flavorful, but the crust missed the mark in two aspects. The first was that some of the edges were burnt, and the second was that the underside had a pretty grainy texture akin to sandpaper. I suspect there were residues of other customers' pizzas that got stuck onto my pizza while they were being baked in the oven. Either that, or their equipment could have used a deep cleaning. On my second visit, I asked for the crust to be well done, which makes the crust nice and crispy, but also close to burnt, though not necessarily dangerously. My grievances about the crust dissipated, but unfortunately, so did the flavor on this second pizza. Looking back, I don't recall being asked if I wanted some extra seasoning, but I would not chalk it up to that reasoning (yes, the rhyme was intended lol). However, it was enough for me to forgo the well done part on the third pizza. Luckily, third time was a charm! This time, I added some extra seasoning and also some leafy greens, which were offered by the crew member who built my pizza. Well, if there isn't a rule against it, why not?! That pizza was really what I needed, especially since later that evening, I worked a 5-hour volunteer shift nearby. Not to mention the crew member in charge of the finishing touches even offered a second cup of sri-rancha on the side. My previous pizzas used drizzles on top, but I think having the sauce on the side is a better idea. They won't charge you for extra sauce, even ranch, so if you really need that extra sauce, ask for more! :) I came once more earlier this month, but a couple things missed the mark. I ordered online, and the employee initially forgot to hand me my drink, which easily could have happened were I in a rush. Also, they kind of skimped on the toppings, so I didn't get as much compared to before. However, they more than made up for with sri-rancha. I had checked sri-rancha on my online order and said in the special instructions two cups of sri-rancha on the side. I was expecting sri-rancha to be on the side only, but they also included it as a drizzle. Not what I intended, but more for me I guess! lol There's definitely more than enough to bump my rating from a 2 to a 3. In fact, I'd say it's closer to a 4 right now, but on review updates, I only upgrade by one star unless the original rating was a 1, which then I could upgrade by two stars. Also, the new general manager, Amanda, is pretty cool and does whatever she can to provide a great meal to the customer with a side of hospitality. With progress being progressive over the past two years, this is now my go to for BYO pizza. And that's even with Pieology being closer to me, but I have recently developed a grudge against Pieology that may never go away. Don't ask me why. * The way I put it made it sound like she got fired. I can't confirm that was the case. What I can confirm is that she was a really good employee back then, but simply had a brain fart during my visit and didn't hesitate to admit fault to such a heinous act. I know her name, but out of respect, would not want to name drop, especially since it happened over 2 years ago. Extensive training was done to ensure that something like that wouldn't ever happen to another customer.
Glad they open late because walking arpund LBX, everything was about to close. Friendly staff and brought the pizza to the table. Refillable drink. Decent price. Cheesy!
Woooooww!!! This was the most lovely experience. The workers were the sweetest angels on planet earth and I couldn't have asked for a better end to my night. The food was spectacular and I felt so welcomed. Juan and Brett are the GOATS of pizza and they made my horrible day much better.
Accidentally ran into this place and so glad I did! Never been to or heard of MOD Pizza but I was starving so I took a risk, one well worth it! This location seems brand new. Super clean and modern. Love the vibe! The staff was crazy friendly! I'm huge on customer service so I noticed that first thing! Food is fresh, tons of options, made to order with no extra fees for additional toppings. WINNING! The food literally took less then 5 minutes from order to my mouth. The price was AMAZING also! We ordered two 11" pizzas, garlic cheese breadsticks, and two small drinks for only $30! Now for the best part, the food tastes AMAZING!! Omg so amazing! Thin crispy crust and delicious sauce were second to none! I can't even explain how good it is, you just have to try it! I will definitely be coming vack read more

Tried for the first time yesterday. Ordered the Mega Dough crust with toppings of pepperoni, sausage, sliced tomato, and purple onion. The part of the crust with the toppings is thin, while the outer edge is thicker and chewy but it's all delicious. The toppings were just the right amount so that you got a taste of everything in each bite. Would definitely try again read more

This was my first time at MOD pizza. I ordered online for curbside pickup. I pulled up to their curbside parking spots a few minutes earlier than the stated pick up time on my receipt. I was waiting until the specified pickup time to call, however a MOD pizza guy came out to deliver my pizza order prior to the pick up time and before I even got a chance to call! WOW! With all the curbside pickups I have tried in the past year, I have never had such great service. The pizza itself was good. The crust was thin, but not too thin and the pizza tasted good. I had asked for double the amount of one toping in particular, and I think they could have added more. If you don't like a ton of toppings on your pizza, I think the MOD size pizza is a bit overpriced. If you like tons of toppings, you will get more out of MOD pizza. read more

The good: online ordering for pickup is easy peasy. Employees are friendly. Store is clean and well organized. Table for grab and go pick is convenient. Pizza is very yummy. The ok: I'm looking at all these photos online with the toppings loaded (the works). I'm looking at my pizza and thinking hmmm maybe ordering online not so good as they skimp on the toppings. Burnt crust and slightly burnt bottom. To be fair, I didn't choose a lot of veggies. I got a gluten friendly (gluten free) crust, garlic rub, dairy free cheese, chicken, bacon and onion, swirl of bbq sauce. The chicken is so tiny like a few 1/2 inch length pieces per slice, bacon is a few measly crumbles. Not impressed here. For the price and what's on this "pizza" it's lacking. It's more like a flatbread. It is my first time here. If I choose to come here again, I will go inside and point to what I want. I'm hoping for better success that way. read more

Absolutely fabulous service! I'm not sure his name but he had short blonde hair and I think a bandana on (forgive me if the pronoun is wrong) BEST SERVICE I've had in a very long time. We ordered mega dough and cauliflower crust make your own pizzas, salad, fountain drinks and the no name cake. Super fresh topping and the sauces had tons of flavor. The no name cake is an overpriced ding dong but WAY better and so worth it! All the staff used gloves and masks and they had hand sanitizer in several areas. They serve you the fountain drinks and use a new cup when giving you a free refill. The establishment was very clean and we felt very comfortable (and safe) dining inside. It's a little pricey but we will still be back!! read more

Stopped in for a bite after cleaning our classes out. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was so amazing! They were friendly and so patient. The prepared our food with care and a smile. Marie and David were so sweet and thoughtful to us during our visit. I live in Lawndale but will definitely be back to this location because of the two of them. We loved building our own pizza AND salad. read more

As much as I would like to give this place higher than three stars, I couldn't get pass by how stingy the workers are when it comes to toppings. It's not like I asked to put all toppings all the time, but I usually just pick few toppings but I would like more instead of asking for double or please put more of this. They don't have other types of dough, which sucks, but they do have a salad option for those who are watching their weight. Their cooking process seems to be off sometimes as I've noticed that sometimes people who ordered after me got their food before me. One lady actually complained because she didn't get her pizza which is nowhere to be found. The staff won't tell you about stamp program so you have to ask for it if it's still available. Parking is free and easy. It's next to Dunkin' Donuts so you can get dessert after eating pizza or grocery shop across the parking in Whole Foods 365. read more

We usually love MOD. During the pandemic it was amazing being able to order via the app and just walk in and grab the food. As of late, the quality is deteriorating. See my pic below.... A critical element of pizza is cheese, as you can see they do not agree. All 3 of our pizzas had extremely little cheese on them. The sad part is we requested extra cheese on all 3 of them. I would hate to see what one of their pizzas looked like when they did not request extra cheese. *** I don't yelp a ton, and would have happily left this on the MOD app if there was a way. I think simply management/ownership needs to know. Might be time to update the app, could = a higher percentage of positive yelp reviews! read more

I regularly travel to LGB for business, and Mod Pizza is right by my hotel. Mod Pizza has become the highlight of my LGB stays! The employees are warm, friendly, accommodating and just so super nice. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The pizza itself is simply amazing, and made fresh to order. Treat yourself and get a No Name Cake too! read more

Really good experience. Went here with my best friend Paul and got through fine. The new shopping center has various stores and restaurants. Large and clean place with plenty of seating. Good and freshly cooked pizzas and unlimited drink refills. You can have your pizza cooked anywhere you like. I like the thin crust. Reasonably priced also. read more

Please remove that name "super fast" from the front of the store, because every time I see here the pizza hasn't even started making yet or sometimes I'm sitting waiting for the pizza for a long time and the pizza has been ready for a long time, they deliver it to me cold! Now there was no one in the store, God had time to go to the Yelp website, write the text and wait another 8 minutes, the employees simply live in the moonlight. read more

Every time we come in here the Mod team is great. You can actually see that they like working together. Makes for a great environment to eat in. They are all friendly too! The pizza is a great size and they have more toppings then any of the other design your own pizzas have. Toppings are fresh, you can even see how fresh while creating your masterpiece. Great Mozarella! A definite must! They bake it to perfection, just a bit crisp, yet still chewy. If you like, they will finish it off with a flavor drizzle when it comes out of the oven. Oh! And they have the GOOD NUGGET ICE! Bonus!!! read more

Loved the fact that they had cauliflower pizza. Such a healthier option. It is just like a blaze pizza so I wasn't expecting much but it was good pizza to be a chain restaurant. Very clean in the inside which is a plus. They have patio seating and I didn't realize that until I was leaving. This is a place worth stopping read more

What a wonderful discovery, MOD Pizza! After a busy morning of running between Orange and LA Counties, my step-daughter and grand baby decided to stop off at this MOD Pizza in the newly built/former McDonnell Douglas (or maybe Boeing) LBX area. To our extreme delight, we enjoyed creating our own yummy, thin crust pizza with all the delicious ingredients to whet our appetites properly. Not only were we famished, neither of us had tried this place and were thankful that we did. Our pizza started with my grand-baby having the "Maddy", which is just cheese and the sauce. Delicious and tasty for the baby. Next, my step-daughter created her own wonderful pizza with chicken, olives, spinach, onions, bell peppers, a garlic base and red sauce. I started with the Mad Dog, minus the sausage and pepperoni. I added the garlic base with red sauce, pesto, plenty of mozzarella, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and a sprinkle of dried thyme/rosemary/oregano...oh my goodness!!! We enjoyed the crispness of the crust, the freshness of the ingredients, and the overall ambiance of a busy Friday lunch hour mixed with lots of hungry aerospace workers, shoppers and regular folks like us, looking for delicious vittles at a decent price- we found it! We witnessed all of the workers diligently working to keep the line moving. They swapped out their gloves and I didn't see any poor food handling practices- it was a bustling time with everyone keeping busy. The staff were attentive and polite. Julia came to check how our food was and when we told her we were first timers, she asked if we tried their shake, we told her we had not and she offered to whip us up a complimentary shake, just let her know which flavor...so chocolate it was and WOW! What a THICK, and delicious treat that shake was. Thanks to all of the wonderful workers at MOD Pizza. You are doing an OUTSTANDING job in keeping the famished people fed. read more
