03/16/2026 I haven't been to Habit in a long while, last time that I came to this particular location was a while ago, but I noticed today the two kiosks at the entrance. There was no cashier person to take any orders nor offer help to two old ladies needing help until they came up to the girl behind the counter to ask for assistance. Anyway, seems too that now fewer employees behind the counter. I ordered a double char with cheese from the kiosk although there was no cheese on the burger. Also, the actual burger looks small and flat as compared to the picture on the kiosk. I didn't really make a big deal about the cheese since I probably can do without cheese. I like new technology and convenience of it but I don't necessarily like using the kiosk since they don't clean off the screen after each person uses it, so germs can be easily picked up by touching the kiosk screen and then touching one's food forgetting to wash one's hands after touching the screen that many people touched ordering their food. read more

NEVER ever ever order for delivery! Unbeknownst to me when ordering in the habit official website was the fact that deliver was handled by door dash! After waiting 25min past expected delivery time I get an update that the food order delivery has been cancelled. Nothing else. I call the habit, local 562 nunber and I'm connected to someone in the mid west who can not do anything g for me and says to call doordash to get a refund! I explain that I ordered wjth the habit and can't reach anyone at door dash because there is no order with them. They say to out in an online request form for help!!! So be warned that when you order off of the l official website the delivery will be bounced to a third-party delivery service. And if this third-party delivery service cancels your order for any reason, you will have zero recourse in getting a refund. There's nobody locally to help you. Nobody locally answers the actual telephone. You are basically on your own as a customer. Horrible horrible customer service experience and we will never be visiting this or any other location again read more

Went to the website and saw the new garlic parmesan sandwich. Looks delish, right?! It was "ok". If you go to their website and look at the photo of it, just know you are not going to get a sandwich that big. Look at the top half of the sandwich, and divide that even more, and that's what you will get. A very thin sandwich that looks nothing like the photo, and doesn't taste anywhere near what they make you think it will. My chicken was so burned it was black! Great service.. I'm a first responder and was working in a different area. I had just ordered and paid for my food when I got an emergency call and had to leave. We weren't able to go back so on my day off went to this location to see if they would full fill my order again. Manager Vanessa just asked for my receipt, which I had, and no questions asked said she would take care of it. Employee George reordered my order then started asking me questions about my job. Conveniently located next to LBX, so there are plenty of options here. If you happen to choose Habit, it's definitely a good alternative for in and out. It's definitely more expensive but you get thicker burger patties. There are lots more options of drinks including lemonades and ice teas. There are two kiosks as soon as you enter the place in case you don't want to deal with person taking your order. You'll still be asked if you want to tip though. lol they do have lots of outdoor seatings which is nice especially during warm sunny weather. Parking here can be hectic depending on time and day, but line relatively move quickly. Their Teri-char burger is my favorite as well as tempura green beans. read more

This was my first time at this location. And i must say it was horrible. Firstly when i went inside they were not busy at all. I ordered a sanabar char and i asked for my meat to be cooked well done. Once i was done ordering the manager gave me a buzzer and she instructed to me that it will beep and flash once my order was ready. With that being said i went and sat in my vehicle. After about 15 minutes i noticed that my buzzer did not beep or do anything so i decided to go back inside and see what was taking so long. As i approached the door i saw a bag sitting on the counter so when i walked inside the manager then says my order is ready. When i got my oder my burger was cold. Because it had been sitting there a long time. And my meat was not well done. It was pink on the inside smh so i drove all the way home to have a undercooked cold burger. The Habit had a great promo where you get a free double char burger, with or without cheese, if you purchase an additional $5 worth of food or beverages. They were declared the best burger in California by a news outlet so I decided to put them to the test. I sent the offer to my wife and we both created online accounts so we could get our burgers after my appointment with my hand surgeon a couple of blocks away. I added the tempura green beans and some onion rings to cover my quota while she bought the crispy chicken strips with some honey mustard sauce. The onion rings were nice and crunchy and I enjoyed the green beans as well but my wife thought they were a bit soggy. The chicken was a bit dry but tasty when dipped in the honey mustard. Now the burgers... well they are very filling and the meat was juicy but somehow it left me disappointed. I guess I expected too much after the proclamation of it being the best in Cali. Now it's definitely a good burger but nowhere near the best I've had in SoCal. Still, I wouldn't have any qualms about coming back to this or another Habit. Maybe I'll try a different style of burger next time that I may enjoy more? Service here was excellent. The cashier was extremely cheerful and helpful. The staff seems happy to be working here and this was reflected in the way they treated the customers. They use a pager system to notify customers when their orders are ready for pickup. Parking was not a problem around 11 o clock. although the lot seemed to be filling up after we were leaving and more customers were pulling up to get lunch here and the fish grill. The restaurant itself is consistently clean, creating a welcoming and sanitary atmosphere. As a vegetarian, I usually order the Impossible Burger. Today, I got my usual burger to-go, but when I got home and took a bite, the patty completely fell apart--it was raw inside! Of all my visits before this last one, I've generally enjoyed this Habit Burger enough to give a solid 3.5 out of 5, leaning closer to 4 stars. Unfortunately, after my last visit to this location by Long Beach Exchange (LBX), I'm dropping the rating down to a 3. This Habit Burger has been in existence since way before LBX opened. It's located in a small strip mall on the northwest corner of Lakewood and Cover. Neighboring businesses include Starbucks, Jersey Mike's, Flame Broiler, and California Fish Grill. Parking may not be plentiful in the immediate lot because it is shared with Courtyard by Marriott just on the opposite side of the lot. Luckily, with LBX just recently opening, you can park closer to PetSmart or Sleep Number and walk on over if you have trouble finding a spot in the strip mall area. When I went on a Sunday evening, I had no trouble finding a spot. However, be forewarned the lot is quite narrow, so heed caution when looking for or backing out of a spot. On my last visit, there was an offer in the Habit Burger app for a $5 Double Char with or without cheese. I wasn't having a particularly good day, and I definitely wasn't looking forward to the busy week ahead, so I wanted to try something totally different: a Triple Char! Why? Because, why not?!? Giselle was the cashier who took my order, and she was pretty good at the front of the house save for the last part. She got my drift when I told her I wanted an extra patty to make it a Triple Char rather than having a single patty on the side, but she struggled to process my payment when I tried to pay by card. She asked a couple of co-workers, and I think the problem was she had the payment type issued to a different type of card than what I actually had. Whoops? I can get past it though, so no biggie. Unlike previous visits, this was the first visit where I had to give my phone number so they could text me when my order was ready. Before, they would give a pager that would buzz when the order is ready. Once she scanned the offer barcode on my phone, I immediately got a text saying they were working on my order. Before paying?? Premature I think, but I can get past it as well. However, I can't get past how greasy and soggy the burger was when I got home to eat it. The wait was 6 minutes with 1 of those minutes spent trying to pay for my Triple Char. Usually, I find for any other burger with no more than 2 patties, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to prepare said burger, so 5 minutes for a Triple Char is pretty unprecedented in my book. While I appreciate how I didn't have to wait long, I certainly would have been willing to wait the usual time for a more upright burger that doesn't fall apart easily as well as a burger that is actually wrapped properly. When I got home to enjoy the burger, I immediately noticed grease on the bottom of the bag. I had placed the takeout bag in an insulated bag so it could keep warm when I got home, and now I have to worry about grease inside the insulated bag. Ugh! I really should have paid attention to that :( When I took the burger out of the bag, the burger wasn't even wrapped properly. The wrapper was super soggy, and it didn't even fully enclose the burger, so it's very possible the burger itself may have touched the bag while in transit from the Habit Burger kitchen to my home. When I unwrapped the burger, I saw how sloppily presented the burger was. The mayo and cheese was all over the burger, which explains why the wrapper was so greasy and soggy. No matter how hard I tried, I had to clean my table with a wipe because there was a good amount of sauce left on my dining table after eating the burger. Given all this, it's no surprise how much of a struggle it was to eat the burger. I had to focus on holding the burger so the buns wouldn't disintegrate. I was hoping the burger would put me in a better mood, but it didn't. I don't understand how adding an extra patty to a burger can make it that much soggier. This was the soggiest (and possibly sorriest) burger I've had at any Habit Burger recently, and because of this, I absolutely cannot recommend adding an extra patty, which is a $1.40 upcharge. It does no good whatsoever, not even the slightest elevation in the burger's overall taste. Neither mustard nor jalapenos were effective as well. That should go without saying that I have zero plans to ever try a Triple Charburger again, even at a different Habit Burger. Taste wasn't bad, but it honestly wasn't any different than a Single or Double Char. If I hadn't made any prior visits to this Habit Burger, I would have given 2 stars instead. There was also another visit where I saw an employee drop a takeout bag because the bag had split at the seams; I was suspecting my bag would follow suit as well, and lo and behold, it actually did. Fortunately, I'm willing to give the third star since I've enjoyed my other visits in the past, but that's it. At this rate, it would take a lot for me to give the 4th star. read more

I placed an online order for the following items: charburger with cheese, lettuce, extra pickles, ketchup onion rings tempura green beans I placed the order and was told via the app it would take approximately 14 minutes. I got in my car, and started towards the restaurant. I received a text message 7 minutes later indicating that my order was ready. I arrived at the restaurant and was told that they were out of the tempura green beans, and asked if I would like onion rings or french fries. Unfortunately, my Wife wanted just the tempura green beans for dinner, so I told the manager that I would like a refund for the tempura green beans. He reached into the tip jar, and pulled out five dollar bills. He started to dig around for the $0.07, and I told him that the five dollars were okay. My Wife and I returned home. I went to eat the charburger and found out that it was just a meat patty with cheese and ketchup. No lettuce or extra pickles. Needless to say, the visit to The Habit this time was extremely disappointing and I'm not sure when we will be returning. I know I've had Habit burgers a very long time ago but I was on a keto diet so I modified the burger so much that I couldn't give a true opinion on how a burger should taste like. Today I saw an advertisement for Habit burgers if you sign up for their app and after a $5.00 purchase you get a free double habit burger so I took advantage of it. Also to give it a true honest opinion for their food, I had to eat it there and get it fresh and hot. I got my double without tomatoes, but I kept everything else the same. To be eligible for the free burger I ordered fries and a drink. What I forgot to ask for were for the French fries to be made extra crispy as they were a bit soggy and not hot. The burger however, was delicious. I particularly liked the grilled onions as they truly enhanced the flavor to the burger. I feel the prices are just a bit more compared to the other popular and well known double double. Habit burger does offer a bigger selection.
