Convenient location on Route 6 for our Truro cottage. Many nice seafood options with BYO which we took advantage of. Nice back beck with beautiful views from inside and outside.

Moby Dick's is a great spot for family seafood dinners with ample seating both inside and out. Sometimes, there can be a long wait, but that reflects their popularity. Their lobster dinners are always decent, and they offer a nice option to include clams and corn as a boil. One of our lobster dinners included a tail full of eggs, which the waitress was quick to bring back to the kitchen to be cleaned. The lobster roll is just okay here, if comparing to other restaurants on the Cape. We did also have someone in our group order the fish sandwich, which was a relatively small portion. Our favorite dish was the mussels in white wine, which is outstanding. The broth it comes in is absolutely delicious, and needs extra bread to soak it all up!

I had the broiled codfish sandwich. The fish was really good but the bun could not hold up to the juice from the fish. I ended up eating the fish and the bread separately. The fish was really juicy and tender. I liked it a lot. The French fries were good but needed some salt. After I added salt they were really good. The service was good. They kept my water glass full. They were very nice. I did think that it was priced pretty high for the type of fish and the amount of fish I got.

Moby Dick's restaurant in Wellfleet, Mass. has been getting consistently great reviews since it opened in 1983 and for good reason. Down-to-earth, with rustic fishing shack decor to match a menu that serves up fresh seafood and New England staples, as well as a friendly staff, Moby's provides the quintessential Cape Cod dining experience for customers of all ages. We will be back! https://mobys.com/contact/#contact-form

I've been coming to the cape my whole life and had never experienced Moby Dicks, but was pleasantly surprised! Just like most seafood shacks down the cape you wait in line to outside to order at the counter, then chose where you want to sit. This is a BYOB establishment also which I found to be really cool. The menu had some really great items, but I opted for the 1.5lb lobster at MKT price. So good and had lots of meat! My friends enjoyed their picks as well! We got a half dozen oysters and you could just tell how fresh they were! Service was pleasant, the staff were all really friendly! Give it a try!

We would probably give a 4.5 if we had the option. Were told the shrimp were fresh then later told they come from the Gulf of Mexico. We found the process to get inside the restaurant to order a very rigid system for ordering . Stand here. Wait here. Now enter but stand here. Like Disney world Moving you from one location to the next. Then when you order. What's your name? Where will you sit? Did love the open air indoor outdoor seating. Very casual atmosphere in contrast to the rigidness of the system to order. Like the byob and the fact they provide the ice bucket for wine bottles. Do not recommend the lobster bisque due to the fact we found very little if any pieces of lobster although that maybe the reason the bowl Is only 11$

My expectations were exceeded! The hype around Moby Dick's is real. The greeter and our server were very friendly, and our food was brought out incredibly quickly (~5-10 min after ordering). I'm so impressed with the food- we all got codfish, all broiled/ fried beautifully. The fry on the fish and chips is the most delicate/light I've ever seen, not crispy though if that's your thing. The bacon blue salad was SO good, a perfect appetizer for 3 people. Portions are huge but light. My one critique is that the fries were slightly understated and a bit inconsistent (crunchy vs soggy) but that's not an issue for me, and that the bun on my sandwich got soggy quickly (probably because of my lemon and the fish juices). 100% will return the next time I'm on the cape!

We were greeted with a smile and a menu while in line. It's BYOB and they provide wine glasses or ice if needed. Super friendly and accommodating. You must order before you can select your seating as courtesy for other patrons. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The owner comes around to chat and answer any questions you may have about the menu. We ordered shrimp cocktail for starters. Jumbo lobster roll and cheeseburger. They were very accommodating for folks with seafood allergies. Everything was delicious while also being served quickly. We brought our beverages of choice and they provided the ice. Very clean restaurant as well. And adequate parking. We will return.

Service was great. Lobster was awesome and well priced. Only complaint is butter is not salted, but I just added table salt to it. Very polite staff, the owner even came by to check on all the tables which was really nice to see.

We were looking for an authentic NewEngland seafood meal while on Cape Cod and Moby Dick's did not disappoint! The cod fish & chips were excellent! The cod was flaky and the breading light. The cole slaw was cream and perfectly seasoned! Even though we ordered at the counter, the staff was attentive and checked on us frequently. Even the owner stopped by to see how our meal was. She even stepped outside when we were leaving to ask how everything was and to wish us well. Highly recommend!

Great food, fun staff, similar to a crab shank type dinner eating with random people, bring your own beer & have a good time!

Ask the Community - Moby Dick's

Do they allow dogs at the outdoor seating?

Yes, they do. We went there a couple days ago for 2021 Memorial Day weekend and they gave my puppy niece a water bowl before we even asked anyone.

Just away from the hustle and bustle of rt 6 rests this unassuming restaurant tucked into the pines. When you enter you instantly get a cozy tavern vibe with brick and wood, and part of their dining room is partially underground with views of the surrounding hostas and ferns. I believe their space was a smithy once upon a time. The setting is rustic, but the service is fantastic and what you'd expect in fine dining. Waitstaff is knowledgeable about the offerings and attentive without being overbearing. The food is amazing. When you're sick of fried clams and French fries you should come here and reset. I've had several different dishes here, but I always come back for the tuna bolognese. It may sound crazy, but it's absolutely delicious. The fresh pappardelle is always perfectly toothsome, and the lemon and ricotta sends it over the top. Their desserts are always 10/10 too. The panna cotta we had tonight was so fresh and bright, the perfect way to end a meal. Definitely a great spot for a special occasion or just a treat! Just a note: The parking lot is fairly small and unpaved. There is one accessible designated spot by the front door.

Apparently, the owner wanted to re-focus on that part of the business. *shrug* I used to come here around opening and see a lengthy line. The croissants are some of the best in the area. The plain croissant is flaky and light. The ham & cheese croissant is more of a croque monsieur and it's a pretty substantial offering, full of cheese, ham, and béchamel sauce. The individual tarts (lemon, raspberry, etc.) and cakes are beautifully designed and are appropriately sweet. The tart crusts were legit. I'll miss coming here for pastries/desserts. Maybe I'll try the bistro when it opens, but now I've found a new spot on the Cape for French patisserie and viennoiserie items.
