This place was surprisingly good. I really didn't have too high expectations for a restaurant where you order at the counter and go up and get the food yourself. Boy, was I wrong. The food was very good and the portion sizes were great. The only complaint was the prices. This has to do with the fact that all food in Cape Cod is drastically overpriced. I was literally shocked at how much the food costs at restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The employees were friendly and made us feel welcome. Stopped by for late lunch at 2pm on a Friday, and the staff were very kind and helpful! I ordered fish and chips and house made unsweetened iced tea. Classic don't judge a book by it's cover experience. This place rates well beyond any expectations you may have when you walk in the door. The decor is old Cape Cod knotty pine and seascape paintings. But the food was delicious and affordable. The young guy that worked the counter was friendly and had a smile on his face as he took our order. The food was made and served promptly. The onion rings were the big hit. Shoestring style and very sweet. My dad loved his fish sandwich and the BLT was something like FIVE dollars. They have the entire gamut from burgers to steak tips, chowder to surf and turf. There is a mini golf course next door. I didn't check it out but if you have kids you might want to. And they serve ice cream here, as well. The parking lot here is always full in the summer, so I'd never stopped by before (I'm morally opposed to waiting in line). We were visiting this weekend and things seemed a bit quieter -- plus they had patio seating -- so we gave it a try! A 3-item combo plate with shrimp, clam strips, and scallops; plus a lobster roll and two drinks; came to right around $50. Pretty happy with that, right off the bat! They delivered on flavor and quality, too. The fried seafood portions were geneous, and perfectly crispy without being oily. So delicious! This isn't exactly a go-to destination for lobster rolls, though their version satisfied the craving. While the lobster meat was a decent portion (for the price) and very fresh, it wasn't dressed and came with mayo on the side. Since we were so full from the huge combo plate, we just ate the lobster meat out of the bun using forks (actually was quite delicious with a tiny bit of their house tartar sauce). We'll absolutely add this to our rotation of classic Cape seafood spots! read more

Their fish and chips dinner is very good. Always hot, fresh and delicious. Their Ice cream is super tasty!! The order is ready usually in 10-15 minutes which tells me their food is made to order and not just sitting their on the warmer. We saw this place had great reviews, so decided to check out as we had just had a horrible experience at a restaurant up the road in Dennis Port (decided to give the restaurant a break by not mentioning their name and giving them a bad review, but they left us sitting there for 15 minutes without a waiter or waitress coming over to serve us, so we walked out.) It was already late for eating dinner (well, for us, we don't like to eat after 8pm), so we were thrilled that the Weatherdeck had speedy service/our food came out quickly. It is cafeteria style, but our food was brought over to our table by a lovely, friendly woman when it was ready. We asked if we could have our fish sandwiches broiled/baked vs. fried and they were glad to accommodate. The fish sandwich was one of the best I ever had, if not the best. The fish was cooked just right. They definitely know how to cook and season fish -- not overcooked, not undercooked and the seasoning was delicious. My husband and I will definitely return next time we are in the area. Reminds us of Woods in Plymouth. Reasonably priced, delicious seafood! read more

I very rarely give a place a 5 star rating, but I had no issues doing it for this place! My family and I were down the Cape over April Vacation week and just decided to stop in cause we've never been (and there's not many places open on the Cape during the off season) I ordered the chicken tenders, fries and coleslaw. Hubby had the fried flounder (can get it grilled with rice) and the kids got cheeseburgers and fries. Everything so delicious! Best fries I ever had the tenders were flavorful and juicy in the middle. My husband thought the flounder was so fresh tasting and the kids burgers tasted like they were right off a BBQ grill. BEST coleslaw I ever had in my life! The staff was so friendly as well. Also you can get ice cream here and after you eat, play some mini golf that is attached to the restaurant. The prices are awesome and perfect for families! We can't wait to go here again! read more

Went for lunch with a hankering for fried clams. They didn't even have them on the menu! What New England seafood restaurant doesn't have fried clams??? Had Fish and Chips instead. Bad decision - My first bite of the fish had a really strong fish flavor - not a good sign. But I took another bite and it tasted fine and reasonably fresh. Fast forward to midnight that night and I had horrible diarrhea. Thirty six hours later and I still have sharp pains in my stomach and intestines and still have violent diarrhea. I plan to go to a walk-in clinic tomorrow. BTW, I realize that my stomach issues might not be from the fish, but it seems pretty coincidental that I had funky tasting fish and have had gut pain and diarrhea ever since. read more

I didn't see anything written about this place anywhere. In fact, I had chosen to eat fried clams at two different restaurants: The Original Seafood Restaurant and Kreme 'n Kone. But when I got to the Original, those bastards were out of whole belly clams. Kreme 'n Kone was a mob scene and we couldn't even get a parking spot. So we went to the first other place that we saw. Well, the food was great! I got the belly clam platter for $22 (the average rate around here) and my husband got the fried scallops for about $9.00. Both were totally delicious. The onion rings were awesome. I was too full to eat a french fry, but Joe said they were good! He also had a clam chowder. He said he liked the flavor very much, but the consistancy was too thick. The downer was the atmosphere. It doesn't look enticing from the outside. It needs updating. On the inside it could also use some updating. The booths remind me of fast food joints from 1983. Also, there happened to be a couple groups of kids sitting apart from their parents who cold have used some supervision. But the food was good and plentiful. If you're hungry and you're there and don't want to deal with a crowd, it's good. read more

I have been going to the Weatherdeck every summer for at least 25 years. I was back on the Cape this summer with my one-year-old and had been counting down the days until a basket of Weatherdeck onion rings. We went and the onion rings were as tasty and delicious as ever, but the menu was super unhealthy (worse than I remembered!). They still have the massive ketchup containers and you fill up the little cups, which I loved to do as a kid and still enjoyed. The tartar sauce is also pretty good and potentially homemade. They still have the old-school molded booths like McDonald's had in the 1980s, which is a major plus! read more

We also ordered a smelt platter that was the most anemic size serving I've seen anywhere on the Cape. The fried shrimp, scallops, clams and fish on the various platters was good quality and tasty. The onion rings were tremendous and the french fries were good. Like another reviewer I'm only giving one star because the option for none isn't an option. Bad food at top dollar is one thing, having to wait so long for bad food at top dollar is the pinnacle of bad service and a poor establishment. Hygiene is also in question, when you ask for three cups of water and they're handed to you with someone's fingers in the cups so as to be able to grab all three from the top with one hand, you can only look at them in awe, at which point you ask for new empty cups so that you can get the water yourself mentioning that it's because this person had their fingers in the cups and they dump the water out and hand you the same cups empty (and in the same manner, fingers in the cups). The chocolate and strawberry milkshakes were chocolate and strawberry milk. The fries and onion rings are pre fried,frozen, and fried again but not completely. Air conditioning comes in the form of open windows with an exhaust fan pulling the hot air from outside in and hotter air out so the place is relatively cooler . The best part about this place is the name, it's a cool name, only its wasted on such an establishment. Beware the 5 star reviews for this place as they seem to come from people who have been coming here a long time and the nostalgia adds 4 stars. It's like going back to your childhood campground and being excited to eat hot dogs off the stick at the campfire except at this place the hot dogs are five dollars and a stranger is dropping them in the dirt before they give them to you with dirty hands. read more

It's fast, delicious, and the portions are huge. This place has been there for years and is still run by the same family. They have the best scallops in the world and they come with a mound of fries and onion rings (it's basically a meal for 2). The prices are reasonable considering it is seafood on Cape Cod. It's like $13 for a scallop plate and $12 for a lobster roll. Service is quick and you just get a number and pick up the food at a counter. On Friday's they have fish chowder, which is difficult to find at restaurants. Added plus is a decent mini golf course next door. read more

After a fabulous day of whale watching out of Provincetown, my husband and I just happened to drive past The Weatherdeck and decided to give it a try. We were both hungry and left very satisfied. The woman at the ordering counter was friendly and accurate, very patient as we looked over the many choices. My husband chose a burger and fries with a root beer float. The burger was tasty and the fries were good, but he raved about the float. He was particularly pleased to be offered the option of soft serve or hard ice cream, chose the hard ice cream. I ordered fried flounder and asked for lots of extra lemon. I laughed out loud when the young man brought me a dish with an entire fresh lemon sliced into wedges! The flounder was excellent; I can't remember ever having better anywhere. It was fresh, very lightly crusted, not greasy or overcooked. The few fries I ate from the pile that came with it were hot and tasty. I was in the mood for a glass of wine, was pleasantly surprised when I received one of those little bottles of Sutter Home Chardonnay. And they didn't gouge for the price, just $2.50. Very nice ending to a very nice day, two dinners for $25. We weren't looking for fancy, sure got tasty. read more
