A small fish shack at the Barnstable Marina. Great seafood market on one side and seafood meals on the other. Loved the lobster we brought home, along with fresh tuna and swordfish. The prepared lobster roll was good and the fried fish scallops and clams were excellent. When we got a lobster steamed to eat there the butter may have been margine or something was a bit off. It was the first warm, sunny morning in awhile and we had just raided Bartletts's Farmstand for fresh asparagus. So we decided to stop for lunch at Oysterville Too for the dine-in experience. (We have had a satisfying carry out experience ). I was so happy to see the outside tables in the SUN! There was a brisk breeze, making it perfect to sit in the sun. First Al fresco meal of the season. My dining companion chose the Angus burger with fries and I picked the swordfish sandwich with fries also. True to their word, the fries were unsalted. Super because I am malt vinegar all the way. The fish was perfectly cooked, warm and juicy on a toasted brioche bun. It was topped with a generous crispy piece of romaine with a flavorful sauce. It was like a mini salad. Very yum. We were very much enjoying our meal when a fresh-faced smiling young man came to check on us. So after my Whale watch I decided to have dinner at Osterville fish too. I ordered the clam chowder( tasted as if from a can), fish and chips(instead of chips onion rings were substituted). Wonderful fish shack where you can get cooked or raw fish - fresher than your mama's laundry on a sunny spring day. They can cook. They fry clean. Get your oil change people! We came on the last week of the season, allured by their $1 cones... but they were out (boo hiss). So we stayed for "fish and chips" but instead of chips we had onion rings. And we were happy! After lunch stroll to the water - perfect. The place was empty when we got their, but it was slowly starting to perk up. Its in a "tight space" in a residential area with a small beach parking lot and small beach with a really cool view of Barnstable. A stone throw from the Whale watching boat. Had a fabulous healthy late lunch at Osterville Fish too! I had the salmon bowl with blackened salmon, brown rice, avocado, cabbage, corn, pico de gallo and black beans. Salmon was cooked perfectly, accompaniments were delicious and the portion size was generous. Wife had the salmon sliders with hot honey which were ok. A little disappointed that the salmon sliders seemed to be deep fried but the dish was tasty. Service isn't speedy but overall the experience was good. read more

Nice place to eat outside. There are 2 tents with seating. No inside eating. Options are order to go or eat under the tent. Nice location by the dock. Food was great! Osterville Fish: A Lobster Love Letter I wasn't expecting much--just your average 2lb female lobster, hoping for a hard shell in the hot month of early August, when most tend to be soft. The place was a little crowded when I walked in, and a movie-star-looking gentleman had just pulled up in a 2025 black Bentley convertible. Still, I was greeted promptly and warmly. I picked my lady lobster, and DJ cooked her to perfection. The roe--red and black--was the sweetest, most delicious part, absolutely out of this world! I've had many lobsters in my life, but this one was the best: clean, aromatic, and tasting of the ocean in every bite. Worst lobster roll I've ever had! I'm so disappointed. It lacked any flavor entirely. I had to load it up with salt to even be remotely eatable. If I wanted a flavorless cheap frozen lobster roll I could have gone to any ice cream shop. I think we would have been better off going to one of those, and having a slightly better roll for a way better price - $34 for what we were served is highway robbery. I thought being right on the harbor and having bought quality fish from the fish side of the restaurant in the past, that this would be a safe bet for a decent lobster roll. Stopped at this place after finishing a whale watch tour. After 4 hours of looking at marine life, I was starving. Still on the search for a good lobster roll, this place seemed like a good candidate. Very casual ordering and seating arrangement. You go up to the window, order and they bring your food. I cant remember the name of the meal I had but it was a Lobster roll, fries and lobster bisque. Massive amount of food, for a very good price. It was a market price of under 30 bucks which is pretty good. The L-roll was over flowing with fresh, succulent lobster! The bisque was a bit salty, but still tasty. The fries were meh.. just fries. I am a Marylander--so I was dismayed to learn they don't have Old Bay here, the fries could have used some help. I really enjoyed my meal, I was supremely stuffed and satisfied! I hidden GEM! Very small store inside, but plenty of free parking in the back of the store and seating is only outdoors under a tent in the back and side of the building. We found that anything that we ordered (we were a party of 7 from teens to adults) we loved everything. We did take out a few times as they were quick and the food is freshly made. A few times we order salads with shrimp or salmon there portions will not leave you hungry. On a sunny day it gets crowed super fast, so plan to eat a bit early if I were you. Hence, that is why we end up doing take out for most part. I would recommend the fish and chips, anything Salmon and for you land lovers they have good burgers and chicken tenders with fries. Spent a week on the cape just down the road last week and ate here multiple times. I enjoy the large shaded deck, and it's a very simple walk up window to order. Most of the staff appears to be teenagers or early 20s but all were very pleasant and knowledgeable in the menu. The menu covers all your seafood basics and we tried a lot of it! Top highlights include the lobster bisque which was my favorite thing to order, the blue crab roll (so much crab!) and actually their french fries are some of the best I've had...ever. The clam chowder was delicious and so was the quahog. While smaller than other quahogs I ate that week, it had the best flavor. The clam strips were very good but overpriced in my opinion, and the shrimp platter was also very good! I was highly disappointed in the onion rings. We had an order to go which included multiple orders of onion rings. The portion was huge but the coating very thin and greasy and falling off. Add that to the fact they packed a paper bag full of onion rings and fries which created steam, and we just had a big pile of onions and a pig pile of ripped and fallen off greasy coating. We tossed them. Better batter and packaging could go a long way- we waited on the spot for the order and took them home to eat right away so it can't be blamed on sitting around. I also found the lobster roll disappointing- the portion of lobster was light for the price when compared against other restaurants and lacking those big chunks of claw meat. I also wasn't a huge fan of the coleslaw but that's a very personal thing- it ran dry and the portion was a tiny ramekin. Overall though, the food was fresh and the setting and ambience lovely. I stopped by here this past Monday afternoon with my wife for lunch. We were looking for a seafood place to have lunch before leaving the area whenever Osterville Fish Too came up on Yelp and we headed on over. There are two entrances to the place, a fish market side which has all of the raw fish and lobsters and then a clam shack side which has all the cooked food. Silly us went to the fish market side first before before we realized we needed to be on the clam shack side. So we walked out and around to the other side. This is the type of place where you walk up and order your food from the counter and then take a seat and they bring your food out to you. For seating they have 6 picnic tables covered in fun fish print tablecloths underneath a giant white tent with plastic siding. For lunch on this day I decided to start off with a bowl of clam chowder and then went with grilled chicken Caesar salad for my entree. Meanwhile my wife went with a cup of lobster bisque and then the boiled live Maine lobster dinner. My clam chowder came out first and was pretty good. It was creamy and flavorful with a large amount of both potatoes and clams and was pretty filling on its own. Then after a bit of a wait (due to my wife's steamed lobster), my chicken salad came out. The chicken inside of it was still quite hot and it had a nice grilled flavor and was still juicy. All of the lettuce was romaine and there were nice pieces of cheese and croutons and while the cheese tasted good, the croutons were a bit on the soggier side. Finally the dressing was a nice Caesar dressing which I enjoyed with the rest of the salad. The bottom line for me is that I would come back here again in the future. Just to let people know that the prices at Osterville Fish, Too are outrageous. We were there last week and got the Lobster Roll, Whole Belly Clam Plate, and Scallop Plate, 3 lemonades, and 2 soft serve cones and the bill was over $160 (including tip and tax)!! The clams were mostly large, chewy, and greasy. The scallops were cooked well but greasy and the lobster roll did not have a lot of lobster in it. Thought the food was average, have had better, and the only plus is that it's priced slightly less than Hyannis. If you are just coming to eat here, they do have a small parking lot. I hate to give a poor review to a local business, but based on my experience they're catering to tourists and not repeat business. I've been here countless times over many many years, the food has always been delicious. Today my grilled swordfish sandwich was so extremely disappointing I will not be returning. For $16 it came on a large bun with tomato slices and lettuce leaf, with a large coleslaw (or fries). The fish was not the juicy steak I'd been expecting, but an extremely thin piece of fish. I was so shocked I did check with the counter that this was a usual portion, and was told that it was. My friends fish sandwich was similarly thin. Such a shame, they've made the place so nice with lots of shaded tables, but we won't be returning. read more

I must say that the young lady at the window was extremely welcoming and pleasant. I ordered the hand cut onion rings which were excellent. I also ordered a fried scallop roll which if I were a food critic I would say was the worst scallop role on Cape Cod. It was about seven calico ( not native to New England) scallops which are always frozen. They were soggy and the breading didn't stay on a one. They were as rubbery as any I've ever had. I don't mine spending for good food, but I do expect local fresh seafood on Cape cod. Won't be going back! Solid four stars for a typical New England seafood shack conveniently located next to a small marina. It's a bit confusing because after you park there's a sign that says "clam shack" (outdoors, yet tented) and "fish house" which is presumably indoors but I'm not sure because I went left and not right. You have six large picnic tables, under a sturdy tent top, and a walk-up ordering window and a pretty complete menu. I have only been here twice. I have driven past it a gadzillion times. I generally saunter into Mattakeese Wharf for a cocktail & appetizer bc of its fabulous waterfront view. But I was in the mood for Fish & Chips & I had my dogs with me so decided to just get F&C to-go at Oville2 instead. It's a small pleasant little snack bar shack that has 2 outdoor covered decks with exterior picnic table seating. The inside is pretty small so no seating. It's Counter Service so you order & then they call your number. They also sell fresh seafood (mostly fish) at the Counter. So you can buy some filets or steaks & take them home to broil, grill. (I forgot to look at the pricing to see how they fared comparatively with other seafood markets. My bad.) The prepared food section offers your garden variety of fried seafood: fish, scallops, shrimp, clams accompanied with fries & cole slaw. Very simple & straight forward menu. The food was very fresh & cooked to order. I enjoyed my fried cod, & fries. I prefer creamy cole slaw. The cole slaw at Oville2 wasn't mayo or vinegar based. It did have a bit of Granny Smith apple in it which made it a tasty, interesting alternative. The place is simply decorated. Mostly Cape Cod photos & general seaside whimsical decor. It's very clean & the staff are pleasant, friendly, & efficient. There are 2 restrooms that are available to patrons (both very clean). I can't remember if they had any music piped in... They have ample parking on the side of the restaurant. They are only open from May-Oct. so definitely a warm weather snack bar. Anyway, this is a solid little seafood shack for an easy quick fried seafood lunch or dinner. The picnic tables make it super for all and especially great for young families which is nice. I'm giving myself 1 star and Osterville Fish Too zero stars. We've been here many times over the years. The last two/three years have been more and more disappointing on each visit. Last year 60 minutes before closing we ordered a boiled lobster dinner , fried plate,two drinks and a side. Think it was around 80 bucks with gratuity. There were hardly any folks seated when we ordered. And after about 50 minutes , and watching another table of 5 get their orders who came in probably 20 minutes after us, I approached the window and the woman working said "sorry we're closed!" And slid the window shut before I could tell we did not get our food. Needless to say when I got her attention she had no idea about our order. I'm guessing they lost the slip. And it probably didn't register with her that I had kindly reminded this same person 20 minutes earlier we were still waiting for our meal. . I ended up asking for our money back and we left hungry after waiting more than an hr and being told they were working on cooking our food.. And Today it was a pretty tasteless and skimpy clam strip plate buried under fries with a bed of clam dough nuggets. And a side and a lemonade (which was good) for $33. Amazing! I had the fried scallop roll the other day with clam chowder. Both were so delicious and I really love the bun the use for the roll. It's much bigger than a regular hotdog bun and very flavorful, and packed full of scallops. Lots of options to choose from on menu and service was quick. I was extremely happy with the overall experience and the prices are reasonable as well. read more
