We enjoyed a lovely dinner in Mac's tent the weekend of oyster fest. There was some heating in the tent, so it was still comfortable in October. Our server was super nice and chatty with us. We ordered a spicy tuna roll & chowder to start. Both were good. As a main, I ordered a sesame seared tuna sandwich with fries. I felt this was a perfect main because the sandwich was fulfilling the desire for seafood without being heavy and it was extremely flavorful. Then I could still enjoy the fries on the side for the more classic summer fried shack vibe. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the bathroom was very dirty. read more

So far every place we have eaten around here has been good. Mac's really great. Rainy chilly afternoon, we went for Early dinner. Melissa was wonderful to us. We had a nice long meal. Sat under the tent and they put on the heaters. Started with a margarita and dirty martini, shishito peppers and steamers. The steamers were so tender and fresh. Then had crunchy crab roll sushi. So good. Finished with lobster bisque and fried oysters. The oysters were DELICIOUS!! Lobster bisque okay. Could have had a few more slivers of lobster. Great meal. Great service. read more

What a find in the picturesque outskirts of a little town called Chatham. This whole area reminded me of home (Ireland) with restaurants dotted along the coast This one was no exception, stunning location. Most people were eating outside in the many areas available, one under a tent, one at the outside bar & oyster shucking are, one in the inside/outside porch area. They have a big parking lot and they had a lot of customers. No wonder, the food & oysters were top notch for a lovely lunch. My lobster roll was overflowing with goodness. It was so much food but boy was it good. I loved s everything about this set up. The staff were busy but super helpful efficient and courteous. Lunch was fast and delicious just like we wanted as we meandered our way up the back roads to Ptown. Do not miss this fabulous spot. read more

One of the best, most reliable places on the outer Cape. The place is even better since Covid started with the addition of a huge wedding banquet type tent so folks can eat outside and most people do. The food - mostly fish- is super fresh, portions are filling and eating here is fulfilling. Fav dishes: seafood pasta, crispy scallops on risotto (special), crispy crusted bluefish and of course, fabulous oysters and large shrimp. The downside can be long waits as no reservations accepted and bring bug spray as sometimes the bugs are biting! We come up to Ptown every year with two other couples. We love the seafood and and have shopped at the market for years now but this year we noticed the Happy Hour $1 clams and oysters. So we went. My god! They were so fresh and tasty. We each ate three dozen and came back the next day to do it again! We also tried the French fries which were the shoestring type and as crispy as glass but moist on light on the inside. We also had the boiled shrimp which were also so fresh tasting and sweet. Everything we saw coming out around is to other tables looked just as appetizing. I'm looking forward to coming back next October and enjoying this place again! read more

so incredibly excited to bring family here. we had a wonderful experience last year at oyster fest with a small baby. unfortunately this year we were met with the inability to bring a stroller towards the table with a small child that could not sit up on its own. it left us with the decision of "passing him between us as we eat" or not eating at all. this is discouraging for new mothers and family that are trying to enjoy a meal out with others when you can be feeling most alone. unfortunately, we will not be returning for these "policies". read more

Came here in search of good clam chowder and boy are we glad we did! "It's decadent!" Is how one employee described it and if she's still a fan after being around it day after day, then I'm ready to sit up and take notice. It truly was a luxurious experience. We walked out with just two pints of soup and some bread, but it we were sad to pass by the barking fresh seafood by the pound, kale salad, and assorted other appetizers. The place is clean and well maintained. Wonderful food and a smart, no-nonsense atmosphere. Seems like they are also concerned with sustainable harvest and preserving the aquaculture as well. Mac's seafood market is a perfect spot.. Everything you would expect.. Beautiful fresh local seafood, some provisions, some prepared foods as well as staples. We stopped in a few times during out trip.. We purchased live lobsters, clams, scallops, razor clams and all sorts of seafood.. They were all super fresh, the counter staff was super nice and accommodating.. We also were able to purchase some fun cheeses, really good quality, things that are carried in your higher end cheese shops.. Their clam chowder in the fridge was the best chowder we had during the trip.. It needed a little salt and lemon but, yeh, it was phenomenal. The one complaint I have is their frozen stuffed clams.. It was really shocking.. It was essentially just bread stuffing with some clam juice over stuffed into a clam shell.. We heated them up, we tried to add some butter, or lemon, but no, just a big moist ball of bread.. Trash. But yes, this place is a must to stop in for any person looking to purchase seafood anywhere between Touro and PTOWN. read more

Food, drinks, atmosphere, staff... all amazing! I was surprised to get really good and fresh sushi at a non-Japanese restaurant. Even the avocado rolls were really tasty. Burgers were juicy and not greasy at all and the fries were crispy and seasoned well. read more

What an amazing restaurant!! Our server, Evan, was so wonderful!! He has such a great balance of charisma and professionalism. He was able to describe each item we had questions about and our drinks never went empty. He took some time to talk and made us feel very very welcome. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the halibut with lobster mash potatoes. The halibut was seared perfectly as Evan described and the potatoes had big chunks of lobster. I also tasted the bass and the swordfish from others in our party and they were so flavorful and delicious as well. All of the staff who brought food and cleared the table were equally as courteous and friendly! The restaurant was full but we had no problem talking and hearing each other. I highly recommend Mac's. Fantastic food. Stopped there for lunch on the way to P'town. Not only did the food look amazing (as well as the fish that you could buy to take home), it was so tasty & fresh. The Mac's seafood "chain" has been proliferating on the Outer Cape for the last few years and in many ways has been a boon to the area's economy. I love this part of the Cape and I've been visiting regularly for over 30 years. I do applaud their efforts, although some native Cape Codders, who would prefer all seafood sold there be from native shores (or at least labelled correctly), do not. Nonetheless, they are a handy seafood outlet with pretty reliable product. In the last two years I have heard reports of them scalping "tourists or out of towners, and last week I had an unfortunate experience myself. I bought several items, including two dozen clams. The gentleman who served me placed my order by the cashier, and reiterated to the cashier that I had two dozen clams, when in fact, he had given me a single dozen. I paid for two, and got one. I'd like to believe this was an honest mistake, but I am quite sure it was not. I'm very sad about that--not that I was cheated out of $5.40, not an inconsiderable sum for me--but the attitude of ripping me off and getting away with it rubbed me the wrong way. I will not go there again, nor will any of the contacts I have who frequent their establishments. Too bad for us and too bad for them. read more
