The food is decent. I have been here several times. My father ordered clams with bellies and I ordered clam strips. They came out exactly the same. It was 20$ more for the bellies and there weren't any! The waitress brought them back to the kitchen and they literally re-fried them and brought them back out. Yummy yummy seafood, just 7 to 10 minute drive outside P-town, we were fortunate enough to meet the owner who is a wonderful man, so friendly, helpful and knows the area like the back of his hand. Gave us great ideas for things to do, serves a great meal at a reasonable price, we will stop here every time we come through town. A Cape Cod spot where you order at the counter, but a hostess sits your party and servers bring out your food. Another bonus is that it's BYOB! While you're waiting in line you can enjoy a tasty brew (we were classy with our Genesee Ales, repping Rochester). While the line did wrap around the deck, it didn't feel like a terribly long wait. They also will bring out cups and buckets of ice to keep your beer/wine chilled. We went big and ordered a 1.5 lb. lobster with steamers and corn on the cob. We threw in an order of french fries too for my insatiable urge for carbs. This was my first official time eating lobster straight out of the shell. It was an experience, quite messy, but the most delicious meat known to mankind. My fears of eating restaurant seafood were muffled for a mere hour and I ate like a cavewoman knawing, scraping, and ripping apart this poor sea creature. The steamers were great too, melt in your mouth good. They're different than other clams I've had as they're larger and have a squishy "neck." I definitely preferred the lobster though, but that's just my preference for that type of seafood. For about $50, this meal was worth every penny and the perfect amount to share. read more

We checked out yelp reviews and it was the reason we stopped off here on our day trip. We ordered and paid online and the food was delivered to our vehicle. They have designated spots to park right in front of the building when you place your Order online. We have a dog so we ate in our vehicle in the parking lot. It was extremely delicious. Expensive, but delicious and we don't treat ourselves like that very often for expensive food so it was a nice day topped off with great lunch. My bf and I were hungry and decided to check out the menu after driving by Moby Dicks and I'm so glad we did! We were promptly greeted and instructed on their "style" of service... ie order at the counter, have a seat and someone will bring your food out to you. The menu was pretty extensive and we had a tough time ordering. I got a half dozen oysters and lobster roll, the bf got calm chowder and the scallop sandwich. Everything was amazing, except whoever shucked the oysters could use some more practice (they were on the sloppy side, lots of pieces of shells). The owner served us our food and came over a number of times to make sure everything was good (which it was!). He was super nice and talked to us for a few. Visiting Cape Code, hoping to get cheaper seafood but was unfortunately disappointed. Ordered variety of things, fried seafood platter, clam steamer, crab cakes, fish sandwich and a lobster roll. Everything was okay, price was almost outrageous since its more like a casual dining and picnic style tables. Seafood is fresh, the steamer pot and crab cakes were delicious, everything else was just okay since I could have ordered it anywhere and I feel like it would be just about the same. My family comes here every year because this place is simply the best. The best seafood I have ever had is from Moby Dicks. It may be a bit of a drive but is worth every minute of the hike out there. This place is the definition of well oiled machine. As you stand in line you are presented with the menu and then you order at the counter inside then you seated. The owner even comes around during your meal to make sure you're satisfied! There is nothing bad on the menu, any choice you make will be a good choice. Personally, I got clam chowder, native clam strips and the key lime pie. I've never had a sandy clam here. Dont bother going anywhere else for top notch seafood come to Mobys. I absolutely love Moby Dick's. There are so many seafood places on the Cape. I will say Moby's is one of the best. It is what a great seafood place should be..very Cape Cody..beachy decor evoking the ocean which is perfect being on the Cape, casual environment. The staff is great ..both friendly and efficient. You go up and order and they have a great menu. I always get the whole belly clams here. Cape Cod is tailor made for Clams and I happen to love them. I prefer the whole belly to clam strips. Moby Dicks makes them perfectly..not greasy..just a great all around taste and nice large portions too. My family had been going to the Cape for over 30 years. This is the one constant place we go to. Over the years the lobsters are stuffed, the wait staff is excellent and polite and ask you all the time with a smile if you need anything else. The appetizers are always tasty and very well priced. Its BYOB optional and there is a great liquor store down Rt. 6. When you are finishes they also have a sink for you to wash your hands in. I said to the owner on the way out "we've been coming here for 30 years" he replied with "let's make it 30 more!" We enjoyed a very good lunch. There were many GF options. For starters we split the Cape Cod salad. It was enormous. I liked the mix of cranberries, Gorgonzola, candied pecans on a mountain of greens. No, really, it was a HUGE mound of tasty greens. I had the Nantucket bucket while my partner in food annihilation had the shrimp and scallop skewers. He felt there could've been more food on his plate. The bucket was too much for me, so I shared. I loved the steamers! For dessert we had a slice of key lime pie (this means that GF girl ate a few bites off the top and he polished off the rest). Eateries in the Cape always have the weirdest ordering process. You walk in, wait in a long line, stare at a giant board & awkwardly tilt your head to read all the options. You sit down to have your food delivered & it comes out piping hot and delicious. The grilled scallops and shrimp were the way to go, something delightful was smothered about them. Top it off with crab cakes and clams and our party of three was no longer hangry. Stopped at Moby Dick's after a day in P-town around early dinner time on a wet Saturday afternoon. No wait, easy parking spot and plenty of tables open - lots of staff to help with cleaning tables, getting water, etc. Family of four split a bacon blue salad - iceberg wedge, bacon bits and blue cheese dressing; a warm lobster roll with melted butter and a Moby's Fried Seafood Special (whole bellies, strip, scallops, cod and fries) - all came with slaw. Picnic style seating inside, fortunately not very hot, or maybe ceiling fans to keep us cool. Food was fresh and nicely cooked. Manager came around to check on the dinner and I noted how all the staff had name tags mentioning where they were from - sort of like Disney World. Pretty basic seafood shanty menu, but the items were fresh, hot and tasty - not too much breading. We would have liked to try the chowder, but a hot July afternoon is not the place for such a bowl. read more

Went there for both eat-in and take-out. The line was okay (30 minutes) during the Labor Day weekend but we got there before 6 pm. We found that the fried dishes were best eating at the restaurant - and not good for taken-away. The broiled and the grilled items were fantastic even when we have them as take-outs. The Spanish Onion Rings dish was excellent but very greasy. Avoid the key lime pie as it was overpriced and only average. Ordered takeout and waited for over an hour in the parking lot to pick up the order. The manager walked back and forth in front of us multiple times seemingly annoyed that we were still in the parking lot. When we finally got our food, our chowder was cold (???) and the server said "oh i'm sorry. did you want it hot?" Generally when one orders soup they would like it hot. Amazing local restaurant that's probably overlooked. The owner is super nice and it's conveniently located off route 6. The food was very fresh and tasted great. My family came up for a visit and they said this was there favorite seafood place we ate at. Best lobster we had by far and my aunt ordered it at nearly every restaurant. The wait staff was very friendly and always refilling our drinks. You order and pay at the register prior to sitting down. I got the fish and chips which was very good only lightly battered there was a huge piece of fish the chips were just okay. I would also highly recommend the onion blossom it was the best I've ever had and the dipping sauce topped it. The oysters with pesto was also a great appetizer. My mom got the scallops and shrimp which were grilled and lightly seasoned and well cooked. Oh and the lemonade freeze was good I just wish it was a bit more tart. read more

The service was very good considering I spilled my butter and they were very helpful to clean it up and give me another. Nice people. It's a cafeteria type place. You order up front and then sit, they bring the food to you. The eating area is on a screened in porch, which I liked. I imagine on a rainy day it would not be so great. Monday afternoon 3:00. Mobeys is a nice place but i had a few issues that will likely prevent us from going back. The fish sandwich was good but for $13 you'd think it would come with fries or a pickle maybe chips? The $6 griled cheese had fries. The $7 chocolate shake was surprisingly not large. 3 sandwiches 2 Pepsi and 1 shake ran me $47+. Plenty of parking though. Clean. You have to place your order yourself then wait at a table. Oh ya friggin paper straws that suck or should i say they don't suck because the swell when wet. Im sure plenty of ppl like it there and im not knocking down the place just not for us. read more

I'm visiting from New York and when I'm in New England, I have to have lobster. I've had a few lobster rolls during this visit and they've all been good, but the one from Moby Dick's was the best by far. Big delicious chunks of seasoned lobster meat busting out of a soft roll. Delicious! I'm not a big fan of french fries, but theirs were good. Even the coleslaw was great, and I usually don't eat coleslaw. I can't forget to mention the key lime pie, which was sooooo good! (Extra points for not using food coloring to make it unnaturally green). I also really liked the fact that all the servers were from other countries (their name tags say where they're from). I loved listening to all the accents! I plan on coming back to Cape Cod and I'll definitely be visiting Moby Dick's again! read more

Two words TOURIST TRAP and too sad we fell for it. Just side of the highway so convenient that you have no choice. I ordered grilled fish.. overcooked and nothing worth remembering Lobster is at $30 a pop so we skipped that. So nothing left on the menu. Tried Moby Dicks last night. A unique and interesting dining experience. I was torn between the lobster roll and the grilled crab cakes, I loved the crab cakes! The sauce was simple, yet went perfectly with the crab. The french fries were also great, not greasy, just crisp and hot, the way they are supposed to be. We drove by en route to Provincetown. The parking lot was full so we wrote down the name and looked it up. The reviews looked so good we canceled our reservation in Provincetown and ate here on the way home instead. Everything was excellent and the owner even stopped by at 845pm to see how we were doing and if we needed anything on a Saturday night. Will come again! read more

Had dinner here with family in mid-September. The place came with a high recommendation, but didn't really live up to the hype. The food was good overall, but pretty pricey. I know everyone has their own take on lobster rolls but....lobster and a slice of lettuce in a bun just doesn't do it for me. Call me weird, but I like a little mayo to hold the meat together and help slide things down. The "touristy" factor of Moby's was solidified by the checkerboard table cloths on picnic tables, and staff sporting nametags that indicate where in the world everyone was from. The ONLY redeeming qualities earning the two stars are the seafood itself and the service. We got the seafood platter to share. In CT, its VERY hard to finish a fried seafood platter. The one here costs $35 and easily only feeds one--ridiculously small portion. Now the frying, completely rushed and poorly executed. I get you're cranking out a ton but that is zero excuse for what we got served. The tiny piece of fish couldn't be moved off the plate without falling apart in a greasy mess. The scallops had no fried quality but rather a greased logged mushy coating, also sitting in grease. The clams were crispy somehow? Lobster bisque was pretty good and the seafood gumbo was also pretty tasty but not very hot. Too much competition to do this poorly. You have your line/ordering and service down pat, now work on the real issue: fried food execution! read more
