This was so good. From the moment we entered we were greeted by one of the staff. They were very friendly and explained the menu since it was our first time. I got the chicken and brisket shredded meat with fries. My husband got the ribs and fries. The meat was so incredibly tender and juicy. At the table were a variety of sauces. So many good choices. I mixed a couple of them for a sweet spicy combo. The portions were good size and came with cornbread. The fries are homemade. Nothing frozen or reheated. The ribs were five bones but he got six. They were very tender, the meat fell off the bones. The atmosphere is very eclectic with military and law enforcement and fire patches, pictures and memorabilia. The restaurant was very clean and social distance was enforced. Staff wore masks and gloves. The line moved quick and the food was done quickly. After we ate we had to try the peach cobbler. OMG!! It was so good. Hot, sweet, chunks of crust and peaches. It was sooooo good. We will definitely be back. I think we've found a new favorite place!! read more

We are here several times while we were visiting the area. I can't say enough about how good this food was. We had pulled pork sandwiches the first visit. It was tender, smoky and delicious. I had a side of green beans and bacon, delicious! The sauces are so fun to experiment with. I'm not sure which is my favorite. We also had the moist brisket and jalapeño and cheddar sausage. Everything was so delicious. I can't wait to return! read more

Mission BBQ - So good!!!!! Amazing food! - Barbeque Near Me - Mentor, Ohio

My 1st time getting take out. First time I ordered jalapeño cheddar sausage * absolutely delicious Smoked Turkey breast *Ok but nothing special Smoked brisket *Also Ok and would order again The sides (Mac & cheese & baked beans) were the best part My 2nd time Ordered smoked spare ribs * mushy, soggy, lifeless ribs. I'm super surprised they would let these leave the kitchen. Absolutely had NO APPEALING COLOR on them. Kind of very dark brown. They say you first eat with the eye. Well, swing & a miss!! Again Mac & Cheese was the best as well as the cornbread. As a veteran I really really wanted to like this place but won't go back any longer! read more

Excellent Food & Excellent Customer Service! Our Cashier Stephanie took very good care of us and gave us the utmost exceptional Customer Service! I ordered The two piece meat Combo with Chicken and Sausage with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens and my Aunt ordered the Salmon with Cole Slaw and Beans. After we ordered I forgot to order another side of Beans and it was given to us on the house! Very Kind! The atmosphere was very clean. Food was exceptional next time I would opt for the Ribs or some Brisket instead of the chicken! All the BBQ sauces to choose from were divine. My favorite happened to be the Tupolu Hot Honey Heat Mississippi Sauce! So good!!! Thank you Mission BBQ and to Stephanie your Service was Magical! You and your crew are the Best! I LOVE MISSION BBQ! read more

Very good, very expensive. I wish I could get the burnt ends, chopped up point with my brisket instead of just the flat. I smoke meat at home so it's not my top choice since I eat BBQ often. But you can't go wrong it is good BBQ. Too expensive to takes my kids too (that seems to be all BBQ joints nowadays). But the wife and I enjoy. read more

My wife and I had our first visit to Mission BBQ today. While driving through Mentor my wife saw the restaurant and asked to go there for her Mother's Day lunch. From the time we got to the counter we were overwhelmed with the service. The cashier was pleasant, smiling, and helpful, as he advised us on menu items, without getting irritated at newcomers, who were not familiar with the menu or the process. While waiting near the counter for our meals to be prepared, and my name to be called, two of the employees working the counter engaged me in conversation, and told me about the large cookers where the meat was prepared, and explained where the utensils, BBQ sauce, and other condiments were. When we were siting at the table eating another employee came by and asked if he could refill our drinks (which were self service). One of the men who had called me to the counter for our meals, and had been helpful about the condiments came by our table and asked if we were enjoying our meal. WE WERE!!! The highlight of the visit was a lady named Lelia. She came by while I was away from the table and asked my wife if she could take a picture to commemorate Mother's Day. She said she would wait until I got back to the table. When I got back she was having a pleasant conversation with my wife. She asked me to switch to the same side as my wife so she could get a picture of us. I thought maybe she was going to ask for an email address, and offer to send it to us (which would give the business our email address). That was not the case. She told me she was going to print the picture for us to take with us. When she returned to our table she presented us with the picture attached to a Mission BBQ background. The whole time she was smiling and friendly. She seemed like she was really enjoying her job, and liked serving the customers. When she saw we were getting ready to leave she walked us to the inner door, and held it open for for us. I thanked her and headed for the outer door, but she went around me and held the outer door for us. We have never been treated so graciously at ANY restaurant. Not to mention how much we enjoyed the Baby Back Ribs and the Mac n Cheese. I am in Mentor at least a couple times a month. We plan to make Mission BBQ a regular stop when we are in the area, and are already telling friends about it. I sent a message to our daughter in Virginia and she checked and found there are several locations there. We have found a new favorite restaurant. read more

Great Food! Friendly staff! I think it is the best barbecue around. Would highly recommend

solid average. order and pay at the counter type of place. the restaurant was freezing! we almost walked out but realized there was outdoor seating, so we took a chance on this highly rated restaurant. honestly, nothing special. we ordered brisket and salmon entrees ... both were average. I love french fries ... but not these. they were over cooked and soft (is that even possible??) we won't be back. read more

First time using Mission BBQ's Curb Side Pick Up and it was great. No wait time, employee brought our order out very quickly and the food was hot. There was also a nice note attached to the order, from an employee- very thoughtful. Food was good, portions were average and all in all the meals were tasty. I ordered the pulled chicken and it was tasty. We will be back and looking forward to the same positive experience. read more

Hands-down the best brisket anywhere, especially if you like it wet and moist like I do or, in other words, fatty. The sides are also very good. If you go at noon, the whole restaurant pauses to sing the national anthem, which is thrilling. read more

My first visit to Mission BBQ was on Thu., 08.06.20 around 7:15 p.m. Let me start with the positive: 1. The staff is outstanding! Friendly, helpful, courteous - these fine folks remind you of what so much of the hospitality industry used to be like but seldom is today. 2. The food is very good & the portions are generous. I absolutely loved the cornbread & mac-n-cheese. The turkey & pulled pork is delicious with the smokey BBQ sauce being my favorite. 3. The dining room was clean with an attendant regularly cleaning & bussing tables. Now, the negative (very minor points): 1. The temperature in the dining room was freezing & I'm part polar bear. But the true impact was my food cooled too quickly. BBQ should be warm if not hot when eaten. 2. Your beverage lids suck. Once sealed, they should stay sealed & not pop off every time you take hold of the cup. Everyone in our party had the same complaint. Perhaps it was a defective batch. 3. I'm not a fan of the fast/casual style of dining. It's OK for lunch but not what I prefer for dinner. If this were table service dining, I would be a customer for life. But it is what it is. read more

Great food and friendly staff. Everything super fresh. They even waited to drop the fries till I placed my order. read more

Mission BBQ - Turkey with beans and fries and pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad - Barbeque Near Me - Mentor, Ohio

A fun spot that consistently delivers excellent quality. Everything is delicious from the NC style pulled pork to the mac n cheese to the sweet potato pie. We would have liked to try the corn casserole, but they had just run out. The best part is sampling all the sauces. Another plus was the outdoor patio dining on a beautiful day. Their values including veteran parking align with this military family. read more

We got take out, a brisket sandwich, 5 Bone St Louis ribs, side of fries, small green beans, large macaroni and cheese $40. They smoke their meats, which I'm not a big fan of the smoked flavor but the ribs were tender and meaty. I thought the sides were spicy and realized they had a lot of pepper on them, so much that it was over powering. I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Wow! I can't believe I got a tastier piece is Salmon than many high end restaurants and some seafood restaurants! My som really loved his baby back ribs, too! I would recommend getting additional containers of sauces to try! Fresh cut fries are spot on and sweet potato and cornbread were tremendous! Cornbread is the sweeter kind and dry, butter is definitely recommended with it! Very welcoming and love the managers energy and joy! Love the support of military local and federal especially in times like now! Will definitely be back and recommend highly! read more

Really wanted this to be a good BBQ joint for Mentor. Maybe it's our fault for coming in their first week. First thing, if you order takeout, they don't prepare it till you get there and you get in line with everyone else. Secondly, they need to lose the damn salt shaker. Had to throw away the green beans we ordered. The brisket was stringy like pulled pork, rather than the nice slices they show in their gallery. The baked beans were oddly flavored, but maybe some like them that way. The KC style sauce tasted like it should have tortilla chips to go with it. More Mexican flavor than KC. Our daughters got a brisket sandwich that was mostly fat. I did like the smoky and Carolina sauces, though. Hard to get above 2 stars on this one, for me. Very nice people, though. LOSE THE SALT SHAKER and we'll try again sometime. sorry. read more

I've been here 3 or 4 times. The staff are xtremely helpful and friendly. Last time i was here one of the staff approached and asked what i ordered. She came back a few minutes later with a couple of different samples.( Never had that happen before) had chopped brisket this time. Last time i had pulled pork. Both were very good. read more

Absolutely disappointed in our catering order today for our company outting. $1100 for 70 people wasn't bad pricing but when the food came, it barely fed 30 people. The food was over seasoned and super sweet. Very disappointing when the regional & district manager asked who chose this restaurant and why. We opted to grilling hot dogs to feed the remaining guests which was even more embarrassing. Getting in contact with someone from the catering department was impossible. Definitely no sense of urgency on their part. Our company will NEVER give them our business again read more

This is a must stop and have whatever place. First time here and decided to get a brisket sandwich and hand cut fries (always leery of those cuz most places cut them too big and they wind up being soggy and tasteless). Once the order was, which was quick, the owner, Jared, asked if I wanted a sauce, mild or hot. I said hot and he suggested I try the brisket without the sauce first, because once it's on, you can't take it off. Makes sense. Well, the brisket is tender and delicious and dipping it into the KC OriginL spicy sauce was just the cherry on top of the cake. The hand cut fries were crispy and flavorful. I called the owner to let him and his team know how awesome is the food they serve. He was greatly appreciative and surprised. You got to try this place!!! I know I'll be back. read more

I must have bad luck. I did order at 7:00 pm. Service was impeccable Pulled pork sandwich was decent Brisket. I chose the moist. Was somewhat dry and not cut across the grain. Look more as it was pulled and not sliced. No smoke ring whatsoever. Hence I did not taste any smoke Full rack of baby back. So dry that three boys would not finish a rack. Mac & cheese was spot on. I know it was later in the day hence the dryness. To give the place another try is a pretty expensive gamble. read more

So this is really a 3.5. Overall it is good. We came on Veteran's Day and they were so fast in serving us that the food was up before I got my drink. The model of the restaurant is you order at the register and pick up your food to find a seat. The restaurant was fairly busy, but there were places to sit. There was also people sitting at tables that were blocked off, but what can you do I guess. I did see people wiping tables in between people which was encouraging. The meat was excellent. We both got brisket and it had perfect flavor and smoke. Their BBQ sauce is good, I miss being able to mix with a bottle, but you know, COVID. Their sides, though, aren't good. I got collared greens which were the worst ones I have ever had. There was a lack of flavor and tasted like it was cooked in water. My husband got coleslaw that was eh. I think the meat is worth going, but keep in mind their sides aren't true southern good sides. I also feel that their price points are slightly high for the price. it is 10 dollars for only a sandwich (no side) and the meat doesn't cover the full bun. For ambiance, I love the first responder patches. As someone who was a first responder, I like looking to see if there are any that may be familiar. I also like their "mission" and that they fundraise for different fundraising initiatives. Their chairs are also comfortable, and I feel that it is very handicap accessible. So I feel, in all, it is decent, but there are better options in the Cleveland area. read more

This place has the best service! Wonderful, friendly workers that were so helpful. I got a brisket sandwich and it took a little bit to come out- they said it would be a small wait and I didn't mind, but I guess it took longer than they hoped because they apologized and gave me the sand which free of charge! Above and beyond service. Delicious food. Would love to eat here again! read more

I ordered mission, barbecue catering from the Mentor a Ohio location and it was fantastic. I had so many compliments from guess on how good the food was. The portions that they provided were extremely generous and I sent food home with many people. I ordered the moist brisket and the pulled pork, mac & cheese, and cornbread. I doubled up on the two sides, supplementing the meal with my own homemade baked beans and coleslaw. I did this because I was concerned that there would be enough. Was completely not necessary as they provided such generous portions I could've just picked the four sides. They also provided plates and utensils and plenty of extra barbecue sauce as of your choice. I would highly recommend this as a catering option. We used it for a graduation party for 65 people and it was perfect. they delivered the food right on time and it perfect temperature. read more

Food was ok, ribs were dry ice t and lemonade are outstanding, the decor is pure propaganda just a reason not to eat there.

Great food. You really have to try the turkey. Exceptional.Service and super clean facility

First visit! Regardless of their awesome lockdown procedures- let's talk food. Wait- first - we've been waiting for this to open for months and LOVE their mission. So walking in- awesome vibe. And everyone was super friendly and helpful. So food- I am a part time vegetarian (health choice only), so anytime I sit down I normally just disregard any meat options. However- everything was so tender and delicious and their sauce choices were truly unique. I also LOVE the fresh cut fries- made to order. So yay- it's an easy A+ all the way. And super clean. And friendly, super friendly. read more
