Father's Day lunch at Mean Mugs Pub. Very comfortable feeling place. Big bar, a lot of high top tables, plenty of low tops and booths. And a large outside patio. My father got the Taco salad, really good. Both my daughters got the Italian wrap and they loved it. I got the patty melt, Burger in the Rye, just right. Food was out quick too. However, the highlight of the visit was our waitress Sienna (hope I spelled right). She was quick with a smile, really friendly and personable. Patient with our decision making and honesty made a really good visit an Absolutely Amazing one! read more

I have watched Browns games here for three years! Great sports bar, roomy dining area with many TV's! They show Steelers and other games every week. Food is very good with decent priced drinks! Service is perfect with attention to detail in a friendly manner! The Gumbo is the best and I have eaten this dish for 40 years in the South to compare! I had the taco salad last with lots of meat, cheese, jalapeños, olives, with lettuce in a bread bowl. The hot sauce they served completed the perfect salad! Take the family or catch your favorite family there soon! read more

We only had appetizers so I guess we should've ordered entrees. The staff were very friendly though. My wife's order was wrong...she ordered a veggie quesadilla (or whatever they're called) and she was given a meat quesadilla. read more

Another great meal. Very positive energy here. Plenty of TVs to watch some games, good crowd, and enjoy the instant bingos as well. Service is quick and friendly. Enjoyed our food as always. read more

Terribly smelling patio from smokers Manager asking non smoking patrons to move instead of asking the person smoking to not smoke under a patio Just disgusting Seated at a dirty table and had to ask for table to be cleaned Owner barely shows up anymore to check on what's actually happening read more

It is a very large location. Horseshoe bar seats around 30. There is an area with some hightops, and then a ramp up to where tables and booths are located. I like the way it transitions. It looks very clean. The decor is a little random, but it does fit in some ways as they have mug shots as part of the decor. Appropriate for the name of the restaurant. While I visited on a Friday, I was still surprised at how busy it was at about 3:45 in the afternoon. That said a lot to me. The bartender I had at first was okay, but she left soon asfter I arrived. The person who replaced her was awesome! She pretty much handled the entire bar area by herself, and was very funny. The couple next to me asked a few questions about the menu and she knew she stuff! I always appreciate when a bartender or server knows the menu up and down. My typical vodka lemonde was priced fairly for happy hour. Speaking of prices, while I didn't eat, I didn't feel as though anything looked out of the ordinary price wise. In fact, some of the choices were cheaper than other locations I have been to. If I don't eat somewhere, it is rare for me to give to give a location 5 stars, but the next time I visit, I am guessing I will change my review to 5 stars. read more

Went to Mean Mugs tonight for the first time in yearssss. I was surprised at how busy it was on a Wednesday evening! The patio is super nice and the inside is huge. I ordered the Italian wrap and tater tots. Both were super tasty. We also got the cream cheese jalopeano bites which were also very good! read more

Walked in and we were seated pretty quickly considering is was a Saturday before 5 pm. Our server (Laura) was super attentive and even had a sense of humor (most waitresses don't). She was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. From the drinks to the food she knew it all! I already knew what I wanted, as I seek out nachos anywhere I go. My father ordered a 10 count wing with Cajun Teriyaki, my mother a build your own burger with Swiss, sautéed onions and mushrooms (side of fries) and I got nachos with a side of sweet potato fries. The ambiance was awesome as there were families there and older folk as well. The place didn't smell bad, was well lit and welcoming. The portion of nachos was amazing for only $11 read more

Livr this place! Even when packed, service is friendly and all of the food choices are very good!

Good service and food. Their wings are especially good, try them. Would probably do five stars if they expanded their beer and bourbon selection, like winking lizard. read more

The food would've probably been great! Unfortunately nobody came to serve us! Me and my partner sat and waited for a server for 20 minutes. Many servers walked by and didn't even ask if we were helped, they were also standing around which added more to the sting especially after sitting there hungry. Nobody asked us or stopped us when we were leaving. It honestly looked like a cool place with good food. Unfortunately will not be going again at least not if I'm hungry! read more

The stir fry was overloaded with too-salty teriyaki sauce and the vegetables were almost mushy. The Jalapeno poppers were watery on the inside. Fried mozzarella wasn't gooey on the inside. The burger was just okay, the slaw was devoid of any spices or flavor, and the onion rings tasted like they were fried in the same oil as the fish. I thought I'd give the place another try after a lousy family meal a year and a half ago. Unfortunately, the food was still very disappointing. I won't bother going back. Ever. read more

Parking lot was packed, I was afraid things weren't going to go well. We were seated within 5 minutes, had are drinks within 3 minutes, food came out on time, hot, and generous portions. I've been the mugs a few times. They have a great patio, especially in the evenings when it's cool in the summer. The staff is friendly and fairly attentive. They offer good selection of items on their menu. I like their double cheeseburger with crispy tater tots. I also like their Philly cheesesteak with lots of mushrooms, and of course, crispy tater tots. It's not a bad place to go have a burger and beer. My wife and I have enjoyed more than one evening there. So check it out if you Mentor read more

This was my first time to the new location since they were on Mentor Ave. I was very impressed! We had a party of 12 and it was a Friday night during lent. I expected a long wait to be seated and serviced, but I was proven wrong! Our experience from beginning to end was amazing. From apps to food, drinks and service - what a great place to add to Mentor's variety. Typical bar food, etc, but still amazing! We enjoy onion rings, breaded shrimp, quesadillas, pretzels, and the popcorn is amazing :) The atmosphere is bright, open and welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

As soon as you walk in you smell fresh Popcorn! Yum!! We sat in the back of the restaurant away from the bar noise because we wanted to be able to have a conversation. The bar area was pretty busy but in the back there were not many people there. I decided on soup and salad. I chose wedding soup. My husband got a buffalo chicken wrap and french fries. honestly the prices were good. I mean, even fast food joints are so expensive now. But their meals were around $12-$15 apiece. After we ordered, we just kept waiting and waiting and our food never came. We finally asked our server about it and she said that they ran out of wedding soup and we're having to make more....OK. That happens... . So finally the food came and my husband really enjoyed the chicken wrap and the french fries were super cool. They're thick and twisted. The salad was fine and we ordered garlic bread to come with it. The garlic bread was pretty SAD! They put it in the oven or under the broiler for a minute or so and it was just soggy and not crispy and brown. It was pretty yucky. The weddings soup was OK. Not a lot of flavor. BUT!! the most disappointing thing was that as we were leaving the restaurant, I stopped where the wonderful smelling popcorn machine was. And I asked, Who gets to eat this popcorn? And the hostess said that anyone could eat it... was self serve! ‍ I mentioned that our server should have told us that since we had to wait extra long for our food because they ran out of wedding soup!! Popcorn would've been nice to fill the time. Their menu is pretty limited to burgers, wraps, and a couple of entrées, so if that is what you are hungry for - then this is the place to go. But just remember...the popcorn is Free and Self-Serve!! read more

Great bar & beautiful patio! read more

Service was great, though they tend to hover.,.Food (appetizers: fried cheese, mushrooms; meal: burger, chicken sandwich)was good until the chicken sandwich - it was not cooked all the way through. I watched several staff members clear "unused" items from tables (rolled silverware/plates) and put them back to be re-used. I asked our server about this and she said management makes them! This is EXTREMELY unsanitary! Just because somebody didnt "use" something, doesn't mean they didn't cough on it, sneeze on it and/or touch it with unwashed hands. This tells me management cares more about their dime than about my health. Do Better!!!!! read more

I see things differently than the previous reviews. What I saw today in our first visit (presidents day) was that the staff was completely understaffed but seemed to be handling it very well! Listen, businesses cannot get workers so the folks that do care to work, are doing extra duty- from the front of the house to the kitchen staff. But we didn't have any issue with service/food today. Between the two of us, we got a burger and patty melt burger and were in and out in less than an hour. Glad to see a local spot busy and doing well! read more
