We had a great experience at Brew Kettle in Mentor last night. A group of 10 of us came, expecting for a long wait since they do not take reservations but we were seated promptly. The place is roomy and had TVs everywhere for sports which was a huge highlight for our group. Patty was our server and she was wonderful. Half of our group pre-gamed dinner a bit and were a bit silly off the bat and she handled it so perfectly and patiently. She was a rock star all night and we really enjoyed having her as our server. We would ask for her again 100%. We tried multiple beers and cocktails. I opted for the rum punch which was sweet and delicious, a very fun cocktail. I also tried a sip of my husband's Utah which was a rich and delicious IPA, and we split the Cherry Limeade beer which was different but actually really good, I enjoy sour beers so this was up my alley. For food our table ordered a few cheesesteaks, a few fish & chip plates, a couple different pastas and burgers and I ordered the Three Little Pigs. First I'll start with how good their fries are! They are the delicious crispy thick but not quite steak thick fries which were incredible. My husband loved his burger. My very picky father in law enjoyed the Caprese pasta. I think my three little pigs needed more sauce of some-sort but otherwise very good, well cooked pork belly. There was not a single complaint at the whole table of 10 which is almost unheard of!! My cousin said their pickles are really good and ordered extra pickles which Patty kindly and quickly obliged! And for 10 people we thought the price was incredibly affordable and reasonable! We have a great time and I would consider this a top-notch experience for families or even groups. Ask for Patty (only if you are going to be nice to this queen), she's a gem! read more

*Reopened as of July 2026* Didn't hear much about the reopening of this location but decided to stop in for dinner. Menu is smaller now, food is good and prices are about what you'd expect from a brewery. Main issue was the service. This is something I don't complain about too much, but this was pretty bad. Place wasn't busy at all, with just one other table and a couple people at the bar. Took us about 20 minutes to get an appetizer and another 30-40 minutes to get our food. Waitress didn't give us napkins or silverware, we had to ask. Every interaction we had with the staff was super awkward (we had to flag down the waitress and ask to order our main course) I personally can't see this location lasting. Dinner time on a weeknight and it was DEAD. Service and prices might be a reason for that. read more

Excellent flavor and held up well. The sweat potato fries were great. My wife enjoyed her grilled cheese. Stopped for a quick lunch and ordered the Expedition Burger. Wanted to try this blend of Elk, boar, bison and Waygu beef. One order cooked rare and another medium. Both were perfect! Juicy, flavorful, tender meat with fresh crispy burger veggies on a bun that wasn't soggy! Sides were Crispy Brussels Sprouts (better than my home cooked!) and coleslaw. We lived both sides. Casual and friendly atmosphere. Great friendly service. Place was super clean with tons of tv's and a gigantic screen over the bar. Easy parking and location. We will come back! read more

I very rarely leave a one-star, but I couldn't find a whole lot to be positive about. Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Started with the Buffalo Chicken dip appetizer. It was loaded with blue cheese and there was no mention of it in the menu. Two of the three of us dislike blue cheese, so it was a thumbs down. Thankfully the waitress (who was very sweet) refunded it after realizing there was no mention of blue cheese on the menu. I ordered the Turkey Reuben and it was terrible. The Turkey was falling apart and SO dry. It was clearly days old and reheated. I ordered the side of Mac and cheese - which is not something I normally order. However, since it seemed to be a staple item on the menu - I had to give it a try. Again, old.. reheated ... pasty texture and absolutely NO taste. Husband ordered the meatloaf sandwich. It was average. Wasn't a fan of the BBQ sauce, but that's a matter of taste. Sweet potato fries were also average. We also ordered a side of fries for my daughter since she couldn't eat the chicken dip - and they were ok. Nothing fancy - I've had better fries frozen. It takes a lot for me to rate one star, but this was by far the worst lunch I've eaten at a restaurant in years. We will not be back. read more

Went at an off time, late lunch. No other tables so not overwhelmed. It was our first time here, waitress made no effort to inform us on specials, sat app. Plates, silverware and menus at the end of the table. We had to set table ourselves. I ordered a Reuben , they had no sauerkraut and only had 3 thin pieces of pastrami, it was so greasy. We were a party of 5 , so things were good and others no so much. First timer experience- this place is clean and family friendly. The menu items for the kids did not include a cheeseburger but we order a regular cheeseburger and my 7 1/2yr old son was very pleased. My 4yr. Old daughter also ordered a time that was not on the menu; which was the flatbread pizza. Very good service, made the restaurant a plus. Morgan was nice and very helpful. She knew the menu and drinks very well and was able to answer our questions about food & drink. All the staff was working well & noticed some on the job training. The senior staff was doing a great job training the employees. The Gumbo, Chilli and Mac cheese was yummy. Loved the brew selection! We left with a six pack of Tunguska. Only downside was the steak salad; my steak lacked seasoning but the dressing & toppings were good. read more

This is one of my favorite places! The green bean fries were the absolute best item on the menu & I am heartbroken they took that off, as that is why we went there (coming from someone that does not like green beans). Their pulled pork & sweet potato fries (oh I hope they still have them!) are my go-to items. Avoid seasonal items & the chicken parm sandwich (chicken was more like a hockey puck & extremely hard to bite into). The service is always amazing & it is so fast to get a table and food, no matter how packed it is. I highly recommend. They are always changing their menu, so be aware some things come and go, but always good regardless. Would also recommend buffalo chicken dip; not too spicy and not made with nasty blue cheese. Edited to add: I went Feb 2024 & the sweet potato fries are gone. They changed their buffalo chicken dip to have hard as a rock pita chips (could not even bite into them) instead of tortilla chips. I do not like any of the side options. I hate fair fries so threw mine out. Really miss the sweet potato fries, green bean fries, & good appetizer options. I have been to this restaurant a hand full of times since they opened and each time the food and service has been good. They have a unique beer menu with a lot of local breweries featured as well as their own. Entrees were piping hot even during a slower Saturday time (around 3) . Only saw two employees a bar tender/ host and server for the whole dining area. Still wanted for nothing and service was attentive. read more

I loved this place when it first opened in Mentor. Beer was great, food was wonderful. But it has really gone down hill. Menu has changed and is now limited, prices went up, food is re-heated, used to be able to sample the beer and now there are limitations. And there is a 3% surcharge if you use a card in what they are trying to make a cashless society. If you did something positive in that place, maybe you could bring some of your customers back. Used to get a nice size crowd but recently when I go in there I am the only person. And I am not paying $7 for a beer and find out I don't care for it because I couldn't get a taste. read more

Decent place. I got a Turkey Ruben that was just whole grain bread, Swiss cheese and Turkey. Good but bland for a sandwich. With a side of fries and slaw. I took a pass on the slaw since slaw is gross. Honestly wish I got a burger, my partner did and it looked really good. Maybe next time. Not impressed but not repulsed. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by the Brew Kettle. My husband and I decided on a last minute date night and we came to the Brew Kettle to have flights of beer and dinner. You cannot go wrong with the beer and anything BBQ! My husband is a huge fan of heavy smoke flavor, I prefer a lighter smoke flavor, Brew Kettle offered the perfect balance. We had the ribs and the backyard sampler - both were fantastic. Our favorite items were the fried green beans with this amazing Cajun remoulade that I could have eaten with a spoon and the dill and horseradish cole slaw. Nick was an amazing server, very attentive and great at recommending his favorite dishes and beers. Bottom line is that we will definitely be back and highly recommend the Brew Kettle. Visited the latest addition to Mentor's dining scene, a local brewery. I was impressed with the number of different craft beers on tap that were creations of Brewkettle. There were also other select Ohio brewery beers to round out a very vast selection. We sampled 6 of their own and found a couple we'd order again. Enjoyed the pumpkin seasonal brew and the brown ale the best. They were all unique, but some of them were not full flavored. We ordered the brewkettle burger with sweet potato fries and this also came with their slaw. I enjoyed the slaw, it was quite tangy though with a lot of dill. The burger was cooked perfectly to order at medium. Sometimes that is difficult to actually get! It was flavorful and the bun was fresh. I'd have it again. The service was a bit lacking. We sat at the bar. When I sit there, it's because I want a bit more interactive experience. There were plexiglass barriers are out every 4 stools, so you're going to feel divided, but the person tending bar was not engaging or attentive. The service was minimal, nothing bad, just, boring I guess...no suggestions, no offers for additional service. It's not terribly big inside, but did appear to be a side room that wasn't open... don't know if they will once dining picks up. The open air patio side was full. We'll be back! read more

Food is always amazing! The BBQ options are solid from the sandwiches, BBQ spaghetti, Parma Que and jalapeno cornbread - CRAVED fare. The buffalo chicken salad, meatloaf and soups (especially the gumbo) can fill any craving you might have. The burgers are true crafted meals in a hand as are the smoked wings (which one order always comes for us as an app with the cornbread). Brew Kettle makes delicious beer with many standard offerings Cleveland craft beer drinkers are expecting and then those that are interesting, inventive and delicious. Growler options are for TBK beers only but you can't go wrong - waiting for the monster ABV ones of Jackhammer and Barrel Aged Jackhammer - but the White Rajah, their Dark Helmet, Irish ales and any Belgian Double or Trippel is top shelf. They consistently hit it out of the park and are my second favorite in Ohio. So happy they have braved the East Side as we had nothing quality to drink imo. Food wise it will be our go to as their menu is vast and they handle the variety with ease and taste. read more

My wife and I stopped hoping to give the place a chance. There was a sign in the door "please wait to be seated" We stood there for 10 minutes no one even acknowledged we were there. There were probably only 6 people in the restaurant so I can't even say they were busy. We finally turned around and just left. We can see why the place was mostly empty. Good luck. read more

The worst restaurant i have ever been to. Awful service with nobody in the building. Food was cold and literally the worst bbq I've ever had. The server was very very nice but not attentive at all. Still tipped in full because i am a server myself. My husband was sick to his stomach after his disgusting over priced road kill feast. So I have been here a couple times since my first review. It makes me even sadder that their rating is low. So, I love their food. It has some interesting sauces that you can tell are made in house. I also love their coleslaw (which is saying a lot because I dont like coleslaw). I think it tastes different than most others with the dill flavor. I am also a fan of their remolade sauce (which goes great on a burger). Our service has been consistently friendly and nice. This is one of our go to restuarants in Mentor. read more

The title of this food review is, "Not your place if you like bold flavors". I would've gone 3.5 stars if that were an option, but when I hovered over 4 stars it said, "yay! I'm a fan" and I'm not feeling that enthusiastic. But there was nothing glaringly wrong, it was just mediocre. Maybe I need to go back and order something different. As I walked into the bar, I see it's clean, the staff was wearing masks properly, and social distancing barriers in place. Patio seating is available with a view of the parking lot, what are you going to do? It's a mall. And by the way, why did they have to wait for malls to die before they starting putting breweries in them? Answer: I'd have gotten no Xmas shopping done. Anyway, back to the review... No entrance from inside the mall only exterior doors. The beer was good. That was the best part of my visit. I had the Brew Kettle IPA and it was well balanced. I had two actually, $6 a pint. I ordered take-out and I agree with previous comments about the bartenders. They're nice when you corner them long enough to ask direct questions, but not engaging. I got the pulled pork burrito. Generous portion of meat that was mildly smoked and a little cheese (no other ingredients). Sauce was mild and tasted of chili powder. Salsa also very mild. My wife ordered the smoked chicken quesadilla. Also, barely detectable smokiness. If you are thinking Tex-Mex, you're going to get milquetoast. Mac & cheese is a white cheese blend and again very bland. So if you're looking for non-offensive flavors and greasy fingerprints on your to-go boxes, then you'll be okay here. But if you're waiting for your wife to finish shopping and want a beer? This is a good spot. read more

I am not a beer fan so I can't tell you anything about the beer. I did eat there though so I can tell you about the food. The sausage and beer gumbo was amazing. I will definitely have that again. My boyfriend had the Caesar wrap which he said was ok. He said he had had better. The problem was by the time he got to the last quarter of it, it was all soggy. The coleslaw was a bit different. All of that being said - I will definitely go back. That's how much I liked it. The prices are reasonable and our waitress was very attentive. The wings were very greasy and the BBQ sauce and rub had a very odd taste--cancelled the rest of our order and paid up and left. Terrible service, after going inside and leaving my name we waited for a text for over a half hour before calling only to be told that they "had texted us a while ago" They brought my wife the wrong order, and then after quickly replacing it she got what I assume to be food poisoning about an hour later. Sat and waited for a table for 25 minutes while we couldn't help but notice that there were many empty tables ( even with COVID protections), servers socializing in an empty room. Very disappointing. I was trying to be healthy and got the grilled chicken breast with rice, redskin potatoes and vegetables. Chicken was dry and chewy, potatoes were not cooked all the way, rice was crunchy and vegetables had a horrible taste. A pretty simple meal to make. I had it taken off the bill. The waitress was very nice. I asked if it is a new cook. She said yes. They better do something quick, or this place won't last! read more

My wife and I went to the Brew Kettle for the first time. We started with side salads. The salads were generous, and the buttermilk dill dressing was very good. We both had the sausage and pierogies, which we both enjoyed. The sauerkraut sesame seeds relish was a real surprise that elevated the whole dish. I had the Big Woody lager, which the bratwurst was marinated in, reminded me a classic American lager. My wife had the Always Vibin' summer brew, which she said reminder her of a Blue Moon pale ale (but better). She suggests the Always Vigin for ladies looking for a sweeter, less heavy flavor. Our server, Rachel, said she had just finished her training but was pleasant, helpful and a very good server. We definitely plan to go back. read more
